Congratulations 🎉! Keep it up! I'm working towards affiliate and hopefully I will be there by the end of summer. I think I can. I have a great group of Twitch and Discord friends. But yeah, congrats! Stream goals!
Hi! No, I haven't reached it yet. I have to get an average of 3 viewers and although the numbers show people may be watching my VODS, not enough are in the livestreams concurrently. I recently put myself back on a schedule so, well, we'll see. Good luck to you!! 🤗
I have to admit that I've used Twitter as a billboard before. As someone who just finds posting regularly on Twitter or Instagram to be tedious, the idea of treating Twitter as a conversation instead piques my interest and looking forward to trying this out. I found that hearing people refer to these platforms as 'tools' for promoting yourself made using them less attractive. Love the videos and what you do for the content creation community. Keep being awesome!
I haven't watched the video but I am guessing only tweeting " I am live come watch" isn't the best use of SOCIAL media ;) Keep up the great videos my guy!!
Thank you so much for this video man! Twitter has been one of my weakest areas on all my social media platforms! I've never been one to really comment on RUclips videos, but I just have to say...Out of all my research and drive to become a better streamer and content creator, your RUclips channel has been the one that has taught me the most valuable information in the shortest amount of time possible. I always refer your videos when helping other streamers! I re-watch your videos constantly to make sure I'm staying on track and improving the way I should be! Keep the videos coming man! Its highly appreciated and you've made a big difference in my life!
Y'know, I watch videos like this all the time (not twitter videos, mostly this channel and Ashnichrist), and almost all the time I come out realizing that, somewhere deep down, I already knew this, but in the forefront I didn't. Whether it's because I just didn't think about it, or I had counter-thoughts like "well so-and-so does it, so it must work", for some reason I just never realize these things. That's why I come to these videos, so I can be like "yeah, that makes sense, I should have known that and I probably did." Awesome work, love the videos, keep doing what you all do best :D
I found that digital and traditional artists are very fun to talk with and the art they create provides them with a constant stream of original, often engaging content. Conversely, I have seen many streamers who use 10 hashtags to try for extra visibility as you mentioned. When I stream, I tend to get the most luck out of only tagging the game I'm playing and uploading a previous stream clip with my twitch link
I used your advice here and did a 15 second video on twitter. Within 1 day it had more views than my last RUclips video had in a couple weeks. Your advice is so on-point its crazy. Thanks for the help you give out here on RUclips.
This is an amazing breakdown of how to tweet. Thank you sir for the awesomeness! You really gave me a new perspective relating twitter to having a conversation.
I know this video is about a year old, but I asked about twitter in one of the alpha gaming streams last week and you talked a little bit about some of the stuff here, but it didn't click with me. I just watched this video and now it what I should do with my twitter makes more sense. I've been using twitter as half personal half advertisement, but I've got some different ideas on what to do now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
This is top notch man. I think we all fall into the twitter trap of bad twitter practices in the beginning. Encouraging engagement is the best practice we can do!!
I love the Alpha Gaming channel! This guy just has a way of breaking things down. I stream on Twitch and I find my self posting that ShadowOfChaosMhw Live! Tweet all the time, and he's right, if you just post the same thing all the time it's not going to help you. This channel has so much content that can help new streamers and content creators like me find there way. I Highly recommend hitting that subscribe button and checking out his content. There's so much to learn about so why not learn from someone who knows what there talking about?
Dude, your videos are amazing and super educational. I love how you provide evidence for what you say and bring it down to layman's terms for everyone to understand. You've inspired me to take your tips into my own hands and create amazing overlays, transitions, etc. to up my stream game. Huge kudos to you my guy!
I don't stream, but your social media info is so helpful with my direct sales hobby/business. You make it so easy to understand how I should really be using each platform. Another great video!
thank god you said this. was seriously tired of copy-pasting hashtags. going to do this now. lol. don't shame me beyotch, we all tryna make it. live and learn
You've been one of the few people on Twitter I've regularly interacted with, so I've greatly enjoyed following your Twitter.. Have also enjoyed Min-Liang Tan's Twitter feed and seeing his tweets and thoughts on games and behind the scenes stuff with Razer stuff. Great video! Throughout the video I was immediately realizing all of the mistakes I've been making with my Twitter and ideas on how to make it better, so thanks for the advice as always!
Twitter is a mystery to me. I never used it till I became a streamer and it’s a struggle bc you’re right I have followers but like two people like the post. I have lessened the hashtags but it’s still not any better. I’m still learning even after a month on twitter. I have my fitness and twitch accounts and do better on Instagram but more connections I can tell are on Twitter. Thanks for the video. 👏🏻😎
I’ve been personally using twitter as a ways to interact with other content creators and get into contact with them as well as companies that could possibly sponsor me.
This is the beat version of your content. It's real, the padding at the start is reasonable, you're looking your most human. The advise is good. If the rest of your content was more like this, I'd sub.
Thank you for making this video! Super Helpful! I've never used Twitter before but when I wanted to start streaming and EVERYTHING said you need a twitter... I feel less intimidated by Twitter now and think I have a better idea what I should actually be tweeting! I was just using it as a billboard... not knowing what else I should be doing. lol
I made a Twitter purely for my Twitch. 25, nearly 26 years old and I’ve never had one. Nice to have this video to help me understand how to use it better.
Lol @ hashtags. I was on Twitter when it first came out and we used hashtags all the time to find new people who shared some of the same interests as you could share ideas and connect with; however, the platform had shifted drastically since inception and now the use of hashtags is just insane.
I always enjoy AmazingPhil & Dans tweets. I feel like they're using Twitter exactly like you're saying they should. Almost always small relatable remarks that are funny. So yeah, I always stop scrolling when their names pop up.
Jacksepticeye and watching your video just made me realize why. He's a real dude on twitter that just makes jokes, interacts genuinely with people and just has a good time.
I have a feeling Harris was shooting a "are streamers using twitch correct" video when he was like, damn I need to tell people it's jif and went with twitter instead! :P
Dude you always drop a video about things Im wondering about. I appreciate you being transparent and honest. Keep up the great work and have a Awesome Day!
Elon Musk is one of my favorite people! I watched his recent video about Neuralink on RUclips. I posted the link on Twitter, & how I loved it and he actually liked the tweet. Which sparked many conversations within the thread. You are correct on posting different things instead of just billboarding your followers with “Going Live” posts and tons of hashtags. (I may need to work on this part more myself) Anyways, great video!
Your videos are great, I really appreciate the fact that you break it down and give advice that is useful for everyone and not those that are already super established in the streaming industry. :D
first off, i appreciate all these videos! a lot of it is common sense but even then you sprinkle in some new insights in-between! because they're so informative, i wanted to ask if you could make a video or even video series on properly developing your youtube in tandem with your twitch? i'm struggling to visualize a proper plan, and especially mindmap the type of content i should be making. do you have suggestions for creative processes in developing videos with a clear structure, and also making content that is captivating for a new audience. i guess its a lame question but ultimately it's more like "how would you suggest being creative?" because when i think about making YT vids for the game i play (or whatev) i freeze up because the options seem limitless. the only specific thing i can think of is making guides, so for some of us that struggle with stifled creativity under pressure i'd like to shed this (as i'm normally pretty okay with this stuff.) so figuring out how to make YT content and also doing it in a manner that will get you discovered, coupled with doing some twitch streams a week to let people migrate is currently what i'm looking at, but my plan still seems like Swiss cheese and not thought out at all so i'd really love a more precise idea of what my brand/vision/content should be.
I'm an outlier with hashtags, but I do agree most don't use them. I've been on the platform for awhile, since when they were more important. Also, I think certain subsections of the platform, such as daily fantasy sports, do use them more. Twitter demographics are important in my opinion. I used to run social media accounts for a business, so I've been curious since. Thanks for the content. Oh, and my favorite follow is Gaby Kirschner. If you enjoy soccer, she's a great follow.
I just post when my next youtube is up and live on my twitter. and when something amazing happens to me after my stream. Also when I make a funny meme or picture people love it.
Really interesting, I see Twitter as my main platform nowadays, twitch is secondary for me. When my tweets really start to pop I will go live on twitch. And usually it pulls people across.
I used hashtags a lot when I was trying to get more viewers to get my Affiliate status, but since I got affiliate i feel like the hashtags became less useful. Glad to know that I should stop using it excessively, it felt ingenuine using it too
A great tip on Twitter is to scroll down and look for interesting topics people are discussing. Then start your own tweet based around what people are talking about in your network. I call it piggy backing on internal trends.
love your videos, big fan.... however i disagree with your hashtag theory. its a game of numbers. The more people you can reach the higher probability of it being digested to the intended viewer become much higher. content has to always having a growing quality without question. Not some much about how many hashtags you use but more importantly WHICH hashtags you use so it can hit the intended audience. SUBBED! Keep up the great work!
hey man! love your content keep the good work getting so many useful information from you I was researching on a camera to start my twitch channel and something interesting that I didn´t not see anybody mentioning the Canon cameras have a 29min record limit how to deal with it, when streaming for over that period of time? thinking on buying a Canon 6D mark II, Would be that a good camera to start? success!!!

I feel like Twitter is helpful for creators with a built in audience, and not for growing as a small content creator. Not once have I ever seen someone's tweet and felt the desire to follow them.
One thing I really hate when I follow a Twitch streamer or a RUclipsr on Twitter, is... they always post links when they upload a video or when they are live. It's useless...and we have Twitch & RUclips notifications so it's just stupid
I’ve grown my Twitch to 2K+ with a lot of help from your videos. Subbed. Keep going.
