@@EleeBot I mean. He's earning from youtube. Qw watch youtube for free with mostly skippable ads.I don't think he's completely wrong... But He ain't charging us directly. Its indirect. We use ou internet facility provided by our ISP to whome we pay to watch the video and "ADS" using our data, Therefore our money that we use to buy data is used to ad youtube/google sponsors. so we're paying Google a much larger amount than what we're paying the youtuber. Well if u really wanna watch it for free.. I suppose mcdonalds has free phone chargers and Free Wifi as well.. just buy an ice tea and sit there for a whole day using free wifi for videos😆

Every time I hear a brand rep say "We LOVE small creators & growing with them." I just hear, "We LOVE people without an agency looking out for them. They don't even know what's going on & we can keep them in the dark as they grow." That's why what you do is so important for new creators in this world.

Just throwing this out there : I'm sitting at work with some free time between tasks and have found myself watching your videos back to back. I'm a small streamer. I recently made affiliate by reaching out and inviting people to come watch, never asked for a follow or anything, just giving off the "Hey why don't you drop in and say hello in chat or something sometime?" vibe. It worked out. I went from zero views to a consistent 10-20 full time viewers over the coarse of 2 weeks with active engagements and conversations the entire time. That being said, I'm watching your videos here and writing things down like a recipe. Things I do, don't do, should do better, etc. Of course I want to make it a career; I've worked to the age of 30 as I am now never happy with where I am. I love gaming. I love people. Streaming just goes hand in hand with that. If it turns into something big and I can make a living off of it, so be it, but for now it's something I want to take off but I'm just going to have fun while trying. So this isn't a "Hey! Can you answer a few questions for me?" so much as it's a...Hey, thanks for the helpful advice. It's clear, to the point, honest, and pretty valuable for small streamers like myself to build a goal to work towards.

Oh don't worry my friend I took notes!
    1. What is the best way a creator can spark up a conversation with a brand?
Start with your pitch! 30 seconds of who you are, what you do, the focus of your channel, what you want from the brand.
    2. As a Brand Rep what is your biggest pet peeve from creators?
Don't go into a conversation with no plan on how to collaborate with the brand. Research the brand! How will the brand fit into what you're currently producing. Have a creative plan, where do you want your channel to go and how can the brand help you.
    3. Do you ever work with small streamers?
Yes, they're excited about being able to grow with the streamer. Talent > numbers. Building the relationship organically during the streamer's growth period is important!
    4. What's one small piece of advice that you would give to someone prepping to come to an event and network?
Have the 30 second pitch down for your channel that makes you valuable and unique. What separates you? Do brand research!!! Value proposition to how our brands can integrate.

This was one of my favorite videos of yours, Harris! I appreciate how we can hear this advice straight from the brand and partnerships managers themselves in this video. One of the biggest issues I find myself facing is how to make that initial push to start up a conversation. It's one thing to proudly showcase my Partner status, and it's a whole other thing to understand and showcase what is so different and unique about my brand. I'm definitely going to take some time to reflect on my brand and cultivate my 30-second pitch so that I can approach future interactions with more confidence. Thank you so much for making this video, I definitely learned a lot!

The one question I have: Say you aren't in a position to go to big conventions or events. And so you try to approach these brands via email or social media. You have your pitch and you got everything they said about knowing what you have to offer. But you don't have the connections to reach out to the right people. What do you do? Just send them a tweet? PM them on Instagram? A lot of companies don't have emails readily accessible to the public. So how do you contact these companies the same way you would in person?

Im in love with their workability with mouse's and webcams, and are always a good dollars spent to ease of use ratio. Hey, I've seen your videos pop up on my home feed every now and again, and whilst in a boring meeting i decided to give this one a watch. I've never watched one of your videos, i don't have a twitch and i'm not looking to get sponsored, but wanted to watch YOU and see what you do. I know that its nice to hear feedback from people whether its good or bad, because that's how we grow. There's no bad feedback from me here though. You were very clear, there's no crazy editing to keep peoples attention and you told people what to expect when going in to the video. A format that i'm trying to do also. Even though i'm not looking to get sponsored by anyone yet, i still took notes and found to be asking myself "If i can sell myself to people i don't know 1 on 1 at an event, then maybe i can sell myself and what i do to every single viewer that watches my content". So that's what i took from this video, working out why i'm unique from other people in my niche, why the audience should subscribe to me, and what they're going to get if they do. Needless to say, you've earned a subscriber here.

Not sure why I'm only just seeing this but great video as always.
I find this sort of thing quite difficult mostly because I'm quite anti-social or should I say more of an introvert. Also not a great talker and find it REALLY difficult just going up to someone and introducing myself.
Really hoping I can get over that in the coming months and years.
During my time as a Mixer partner I saw a lot of people thinking they would get extra merch and 'free stuff' by wearing a partner hoodie or t-shirt and I've never really thought that company reps saw that as a must to working with them.
With my journey on Twitch only just starting there's a long way to go before I'm likely to be in a position to talk to companies but I have a game plan and know what I need to do.
    Thanks again.

Stream for 2-4 hours after work and then on the weekends dedicate that time to family. When you start expanding enough and you can start paying for everything you need from twitch, then in my opinion stay at your job for 2 weeks but save most if not all of that job money then quit your job, and start streaming for maybe 4-8 hours a day. But keep those weekends dedicated to your family, or you can stream weekends and dedicate other days to family.

Right on. I believe I have established a huge European car show since 2002. I had to organically talk to potential sponsors from day one. I feel like I used a lot of the tips you mentioned. And I think you solidified ideas I need to work on go to forward. Thank you 💙

Amazing insights. Thank you so much for doing this. It's mind boggling to see just how many people approach these companies just looking for free stuff and not realizing what they should be doing. Networking, if dobe correctly is something truly amazing. When a creator and a brand mesh great things can happen.

It would be interesting to see an updated video for 2020 since these live events are cancelled for the most part. How would someone get sponsors during a pandemic?

yet again a great video to kick me in the butt :D I have really fluctuating numbers, when I play games I have around 5 viewers, when I do cooking or just chatting around 20. (guess I know where my content should go^^) one of my mods told me to ask for sponsoring, but I feel like I dont have enough to offer the brands as a small streamer. but seeing these interviews I might try though! thats one of my biggest regrets, not to have networked on twitchcon but I was so overwhelmed with everything lol

you should make a video that explains and shows how you organize game play clips, remembering what time on the recording what happened, etc im sure a lot of people like me would appreciate that to.

How do you discover your unique value? What can a streamer do to be unique but provide value at the same time? They might be "easy" questions to ask yourself, but sometimes easy is very hard.

Loved the video and information it provides with a new perspective for me to go on while building an online stream. I object to the last thought because if it took someone to wear a snowsuit to go through the motions at least they have experienced it as bad as it could be. Stream on!
