As a RDM main, I quite approve of the thorned vine whip thing. I just hope it's not yet another combo ender step lol My biggest takeaway from the Benchmark, though, is just how comfortable they are getting with having the characters actually do things, hold things, interact with things, etc. It's such a major upgrade over how they used to do things and even if that sort of interaction only happens in cutscenes it's still huge.
SMN spell look like a upgraded fester :s The summoner mouvement execution is similar to the actual fester. And some thunder bubble appears in the end of the animation like the actual fester. I'm 100% sure it was the new animation fester maybe rename and related to ramuh, but that was identical.
Yeah, I figured it would be some kind of upgrade like that, maybe another instacast like Fester etc. Or an upgraded Ruin. I don't expect anymore summons... sadly.
Forget the jobs and graphics, when i heard about the blacklist update,im so much more hype.after having one really bad friend experience where they went crazy and harrased me for not wanting to date in a videogame,i was cautious making friends again, thinking they could follow me if i was on thier friend list or something.m so glad now we can block people for good and out of our houses.i know one bad experience shouldn't have jaded me so bad,bit it was really bad.i feel really good going back to a female character
Fun fact: You can tell for any phys ranges, tank or melee which skills are GCDs and not OGCDs because if you haven't noticed, your character emits a small golden glow every time they activate a GCD for those roles. I don't know why it happens, but that can be applied to this trailer when analyzing the new animations/skills. If it has the glow, it's a GCD skill and not OGCD I only bring this up because a lot of people seem to think the new DRK skill is somehow an upgraded Shadowbringer, but what we see in the trailer has the GCD glow
He missed the second attack from DRK as the SCH move went off but before the cross slash happens you can see in the background the DRK using blood spiller so Im wondering if they added a combo chain that follows blood spiller.
for SMN i fully expect the summon rotation to be; Bahamut > Ifrit, Garuda, Titan > Phoenix > Ramuh, Shiva, Leviathan > Bahamut, etc. so I'd be really shocked if that lightning ability *wasn't* some flavor of Ramuh ability. I think if they'd used ice or water for this it'd be too obvious of a hint, and that could very well be something else entirely, maybe an upgraded Fester or Energy Drain, maybe even a new instant cast Ruin animation. I really want that WHM aoe ability to be something other than an aoe heal, or upgraded Aflatus Rapture like I assume it is. I don't think they'd give us a party buff like AST though, so it's probably a heal. I'd be plenty happy if we get 2 Assize stacks and Seraph Strike gap closer, though. I assume that the big purple star was the AST skill resolving, not WHM, but it's super hard to tell like this.
I main SMN, so I think it'd be nice to have another triad of summons, but I am not expecting to see anything like that. It'd be nice, though... When I first saw it, I thought instacast Fester or a new form of Ruin.
Personally, I would love to have Quetzalcoatl as the lightning summon for Summoner. I think it would fit for the Dawntrail theme and I think that the creature design probably works better for Summoner than actual person looking Ramuh.
i'd be shocked if they didn't change the summon rotation to bahamut > ifrit, titan, garuda > phoenix > leviathan, ramuh, shiva > bahamut. but maybe because it feels like the obvious progression and with how much we want it, they might not do it and that is just upgraded Fester.
After watching this, I actually decided to check out the ARR benchmark trailer... and wow. It's pretty surreal to see how much has changed since then, the WHMs even carry their staves in two hands, like they did way back in 1.x.
it looks like whm is going back to it’s cnj roots in dawntrail! the weapon is very nature-themed, and that, what i’m assuming is an upgraded medica II, with the petal effects, is very pretty
Wait, Meoni, were you not aware that characters take a sip from a waterskin when consuming liquid based food items, such as coffee or orange juice? That animation is already in the game.
if your character moves when you eat, the animation can't play, so i wouldn't be shocked if a lot of people had no idea these exist. i'd still love them all as their own emotes, though. maybe as rewards for whatever the "Firmament" style content is this expac.
I admire their desire to reproduce the trailer at the beginning but they could at least have made the effort to try to represent Tuliyollal in the distance. Looks like we're traveling to a baren island here ^^.
I guess people are comparing it to Clive from the sixteen crossover, that character model is a lot better. Then what we see here in the benchmark trailer for the base WOL
They are right to compare, it looks like the WoL's face came straight from a bad mobile game - in 2021... But somehow Meoni thinks it looks better!! 🤷 Why do people have to be dishonest about something so obvious?
It only looks bad on the first scene on the boat, after that it looks much better. I think there is just some super funky lighting going on there that they used trying to recreate the CGI trailer but failed fantastically
@@Swerg20 Yeah his face looks kinda plasticky... I don't get it though, why are SE and most social media influencers so focussed on what is basically a MINOR graphics update? I'm thinking the DK cross slash is going to be an upgraded edge of shadow. The move on the large snakey critter looks like an upgraded gravity or malefic with a lightning cast by a Mamool Ja thaum that overlaps the effect.
I believe that "bug-eyed" race is the Yok Huy; they are a tribe of Gigant, of which we have seen the tribes of Gigas, Giants and Hecatoncheires. the info i read said the Yok Huy once had an empire that has since fallen
On Summoner, they should just give us 3 different summons while we're on Phoenix. It would make more sense that way to give us a bit more variety. Instead of the regular triad of summons. So Ramuh, Leviathan, and Shiva with Phoenix. But who knows if Summoner is changing altogether or if it's staying about the same for once.
When I see the MNK's pose in their new ability, it makes me think that it could be an upgrade to Enlightenment. The way it shoots forward in a cylinder makes it seem that way too. We'll see though.
The AST rework is making me second guess myself. My intuition wants to say whatever they did is a Horoscope upgrade, but upon further consideration maybe it's an upgrade to Aspected Helios? That would make sense if WHM is in fact getting a Medica upgrade; both being AoE Regens. It could be placeholder audio, but whatever the SCH did sounded like it was using the Chain Stratagem SFX and does share similarities in the VFX. So I'm in agreement with notion that it might be a Chain Stratagem upgrade. Since the SGE looked like they're getting a Toxikon upgrade, that would also mirror the WHM/AST ability pairing, since Toxikon is acquired at the same level as Chain and is how the Sage contributes more damage, right? That makes me wonder if Sage/Scholar are going to get mitigation action upgrades and White Mage/Astrologian get some kind of damage action upgrade? Healer action progression has the tightest patterning of any role (along with the Tanks), so I wouldn't be surprised.
