Its so unfortunate that Horde RP kinda died down alot due to some controversies around the Vulpera as well as the PCU some years ago and didnt recover fully. Similar as Alliance RP got a bit further spread out due to more hubs and communities opening up. Love those videos, they brought me to RP honestly
@TheStygian The PCU used to be on Argent Dawn EU (The server Kakio plays on) a group of roleplayers who were infamous for their elitism, hypocrisy, drama, degeneracy. That group came with dozens of guilds, almost all of them in "prestigious" positions in the lore so they could pretend to have actual authority over people. They werent a massive group. It was more akin to a community with many, many alts. And from what I gathered they were a more "exclusive" community who didnt shy away from taking everything they wanted or claiming moral highground while being not any better. Example: There is a building you want to use for roleplay? Sucks to be you because the PCU comes there and bullies you to leave. You do ERP (erotic roleplay)? You are a degenerate, the PCU will hate you for it (while they themselves do it, only doing bestiality and stuff like that). They got into alot of controversies and are hated by the general roleplay community on Argent Dawn. They were not good people overall. Lucky for the community the PCU is defunct after its leader and many of the powerful mods etc. departed the game years ago. They now play ESO. The leftovers of the PCU are still around however they mostly keep to themselves.
It seems my previous comment was deleted. Not from kakio ofc, most likely RUclips pulled it. However to explain it briefly: The PCU was a group of elitist roleplayers who had many guilds with many alts. They were extremely hostile to those they believed to be of "lesser roleplayer", tried to "uplift rp" by being overall toxic and elitist while taking every big of fun out of roleplay. They were also major hypocrites in regards to what "good" and "bad" roleplay is. And they were involved in many, many controversies over the years of their terror on Argent Dawn. They used to bully people who didnt go along their ways, they did mix IC and OOC constantly, they were also very demanding. If a PCU guild wanted to have a location for some roleplay of theirs they would practically annoy and pester you until you went away, it doesnt matter if you were there before or not. However the PCU ceased to exist in any meaningful way some years ago. Their leadership departed to infest ESO and the leftovers mostly keep to themselves, not bothering anyone really. Horde RP also had some more controversies in regards to furries who roleplayed.. well, vulpera. And acted as if casual horde rp was like furcon 24/7. Both the vulpera, the PCU and the hordes general inclination to be a more guild-based roleplaying faction had caused the death of the majority of casual Horde Roleplay on Argent Dawn. There are of course more factors playing in like for example the exodus of many players during the time of Shadowlands and the lawsuits, the general alliance bias Blizz has, poor lore that drove people away and so on and so forth. There are occasionally attempts to bring casual horde rp back, but even when those initiatives are fun and pretty good at times the overall belief of "horde rp is dead" is hard to shake off. On Alliance you can jump right in. On Horde you have to search for them.
@@TheStygian someone already gave an answer. It doesn't exist anymore. The remaining members rebranded like half a year ago and are under new leadership. I love the race but that's exactly my gripe with Dracthyr, their lack of beeing able to use transmogs. It sucks. Finding a belt every time praying it has "3D" elements so it show up on your dracthyr and I hate how the visage just looks like a scaled elf, I wish they'd just give the ability to "visage" ourselves into the other existing playable races like dragons do.
I alwas pray the belts *don't* have 3d elements, because those are always slapped on the Dracthyr-form belts which almost never fit in colour or style >_
@@Amarylloni just want separate transmog for derg and visage so I can wear full armor in visage without having the stupid floating shoulderpads and belt buckle in derg form
As a non player wit ha passion for warcraft lore, I kinda like the concept of the Drakthyr. Sure, they could be more buffed and wear more armor, but their magic is cool and unique. Combinning all the dragon flights's powers into one clas is a very interesting idea. I would like to see a similar class for the Pandarens with the August Celestials or the Zandalari Trolls with the Loa.
I personally love them. Yeah creating matching mog from a shoulder, weapon, belt and their barber armor is hard as hell, but I like messing with it. Also creating them in a way that clearly shows if I wanted "male" or "female" is fun. Overall I've made 5 Dracthyr this expansion and I'm not going to stop at that probably.
I actually really love the Dracthyr, but Blizzard definitely did not give them the best spotlight they could have, reducing them to one class at the time, revealing them to us in a very... unflattering? Way? The original images they presented us with do not sell the Dracthyr very well. Also their visage forms are just More Elves [what I wouldn't do to have a troll visage form!!]. Another problem with them is definitely the transmog limitations too lmao, I refuse to believe there's no way Blizzard can't make transmog work on their Dracthyr forms.
Dracthyr are a huge load of wasted potential, and downright laziness from Blizzard. It's a cool idea, made utterly mediocre. They'll never fix it either, because that'd require them to admit they made a mistake in the first place.

yeah, i used to main tauren druid but im love the dracthyr and the evoker class, i just wish i could have transmog, i dont like the alternate form so i dont usually see my armor
I still don't understand why they decided to make it so the Dracthyr couldn't show armor. Theres nothing special about them that would make it hard, it really just does feel like Blizz was being lazy. weird feet? theres worgen, draenei, trolls, and vulpera that already have feet like that. Wings? Make them pop out of the back armor, we already have undead who have spines that just randomly tear through armor and cloaks.I can see maybe just making it so the feet and maybe helmets don't show, but really it just feels like they didn't want to do it.
i've been playing with many a drakthyr, their racial abilities are just too cool. "i pity the wingless mortals of Azeroth, for they can never enjoy the freedom of taking right to the sky. i mean, they CAN do it too, but they need to get on a Mount to do so."
As an blue dragonflight fangirl, thats playing on the horde side, i love the dracthyr! They gave me the possibility to have an human (or half elf) visage like Kalecgos and thanks to the change to use tarecgosas visage without the staff, i can role play as a blue dragon :) Also, glide is super fun!! But ill be honest, i dont care much about the dracthyr form itself because of the known issues.
I remember someone taking the dracthyr model and using the male Gargoyle structure to give us an actual buff dracthyr and it looked much better than the skinny vegetable dracthyr we got stuck with.
Dracthyr are pretty fun and awesome. While they do lack a Heritage Armor Set, Lack of other armor transmog options, and lack of visages they are so by far most fun race in wow.
I have a few Dracthyr, but mainly cause I was excited to try out the different Evoker specs. I can't say I've messed with Devastation or Augmentation too much (as I prefer healer), but I've had a lot of fun with Preservation! Particularly a Bronze Dragon build over a Green Dragon build. There's just something about being able to warp and dilate time that is always satisfying! Plus, Preservation was and continues to be refreshing (considering that the last healing spec Blizzard added before Preservation was Mistweaver over 10 years ago). I will say though, I'm still highly disappointed that the Dracthyr are restricted to their weird half elf/human forms for visages. It would be easy for Blizzard to make it so you could choose whatever race you'd like (like the actual dragons), but I guess that's asking for too much. So, I guess I'll keep using the atomic recalibrator toy until that day comes.
I did some mythic raiding in legion, bfa, and dragonflight, but I'm taking a break from wow for this xpac, hopefully the break will make wow feel new again.
Legitimately, give hardcore vanilla a shot. It reinvigorated my interest in WoW totally and utterly, and I've barely played Retail in a couple of weeks.
THE BLOOD MOON HAS RISEN AND KAKIO LIVES! MIssed your stuff, Kakio, hope you get up and running again, 100% would join a Patreon to get bangers like this back!
Yeah, dracthyr was a neat race to play. . . but give us more forms that ELF for the visage. Then again, I didn't bother being in any other form. Just wish they could be a little beefier for classes like warrior and paladin. I swear these dracthyr were scared of the gym.
I feel as if they added a toggle that would switch you back to your visage form after combat, it would take away a lot of the sting with the transmogs not appearing on the dracthyr models
i roll with the Drakthyr because of their cool abilities, including being able to soar through the skies with wild abandon. i have 3 Drakthyr Evokers (1 per Spec) and i have a Drak Fire Mage, Drak Surv Dragoon, Drak Arms Warrior and a Drak Destro Lock. also while i do agree that right now the Transmog issues are there, i minimalize them by way of utilizing the Tabard and other Character Creation Armor that you can put on when making your Drak. that will do me for now until Draks can Mog it up like everyone else can, WITHOUT being yet another Elf...
I like them because they have the highest quality animations, a new actual skeleton that isn't another damn belf or nefl rig, they have something unique to them since they can fly and a class, which has my favorite archetype that doesn't exist in many games, a support that isn't a healer. As for what they could've added as a race and a class, I think they're incredibly stupid and just added for the sake of "nobody expected this, got you!".
as an active dracthyr player, I definitely agree with your presented criticism, esspecially if it comes to their bodies, I don't mind them beeing on a more sleek side, but I eventually realized, that I strongly dislike the overly long legs. horrible. at least Orasi is doing fine :)
The ONE TIME Kakio is active again, interviewing players, I am not around as a potential asked person because I moved out from home and had no Internet for the past week. RIP.
i love the dracthyr. combined with vulpera they make up a massive chunk of my chars and i have accepted that i will not be beating these furry allegations. but on my dracthyr i would like to beat the dripless allegations
You know, you have a good point on why it would have made sense for Dracthyr to join neither side since they were already made to be weapons of war and may be disinterested in joining another.
i guess the algorithm really wants me to watch your content due to it showing me this wonderful channel at least once a year (also thank you for accidently being my first sight into the seemingly wonderful world of WoW
I feel like I'm the only person who's really satisfied with the Dracthyr as they were presented. I like having an out of combat human form for transmog and a weird creature for an in combat form. I like having a race specific class. I like how the dragon forms are androgynous and noodley. I feel like they made a "hero-class" just for me :)
Being a Dracthyr since Dragonflight season 1 the mobility both in flight and on the ground is immensely convenient, you are genuinely a very speedy class as an Evoker. Though personally the lack of transmogs has not bothered me, since I am more of a person that is bothered more if the way my character looks is buried beneath a layer of cosmetics, as if it did not truly matter what they looked like. It meant that I did not use the armour as it were in order to let the shoulders, tabard and waist items appearances that I have stand out more, while using the visage for when I do want to dress for a theme. That said I do not use the visage at all, since all my utility is in Dracthyr form which includes many combat abilities. It means that being in visage feels more like a personal preference than as a direct advantage. I like the way that the Dracthyr look and they do not appear strange to me at all. Also the lore for the Dracthyr does makes me feel sad for them, since they did see Neltharion as a father figure and they are shown to have close bonds with one another, their tutorial on the Forbidden reach they are described to have signets that are functionally dog tags and your character would get one themselves from your Scalecommander.
I've been a drac evoker main pretty much since they were introduced, so you can imagine my opinion of em is pretty high. I love the evoker playstyle, I find their lore very interesting, and I quite like how they look, both in and out of visage. Can confirm though, as an avid transmogger, I wish they had a lil more transmogging ability. I also used to hate their weak watered down flying but it's a lot better now, still some issues though but they are negligible.
For me the play style is just fun, I dont mind the dragon body type but would like them to add a bigger bulkier body type. Its become my new main and I enjoy raiding as one.
Personally I’d been interested in a dragon race since BFA and after Dragon Flight I was pretty disappointed it got to the point that I felt they were unnecessary. My current idea that would make the Evoker class open to all races. By just have them turn in to a drake like form. To me that feels more like a dragon.
I definitely feel like I'm a minority, but I actually prefer my dracthyr to be somewhat armorless. I love the way she looks without being hidden under layers of armor. It could be that I haven't found any hunter transmogs that i actually like either, I suppose.
I like the dracthyr. I am disappointed about the lack of armor, but i don't find anything wrong with the body structure. They have a decent amount of baked in armors from the customization menu, and with all the scale colors and different spike types, you can still make a decent array of transmogs. Though I have't been keeping up with my tabard collections, so that limits me a bit. They also have a really fun dance emote. I har bought one of those race change 3 packs like a year ago when the service was on sale and had one left over, so I swapped my warrior to dracthyr once it was available. A bulkier dragon would be better for it, but the wings help with the silhouette, and the warrior animations look intimidating enough as it is anyway.
My question is why earthen ??? We could have gonne with those new troll-like creature or somehow freed ascended nerubian but we got stone dwarfs. Its not bad lore wise but hope for something better
As a Feral druid main, the lack of customisation and glamour items in Dracthyr form has never bothered me. They still got more customization than boomies whom got a revamp in their customization in Dragonflight. Ferals and Guardians are still stuck with pre-designed forms with 0 customization options, and none of our armor in our forms. XD
"Why *any other race*" sounds like a question toward the viewers, "why drachtyr?" sounds like a question directed toward Blizzard for creating them
it was also the case for mechagnomes and vulperas at the end of BfA.
I didn't get the same feeling when Legion introduced Mag'har or Lightforged Draenei.

Naked orc is the MVP
So, I guess I'll keep using the atomic recalibrator toy until that day comes.
love the interview style
"Neltharion's lab babies." Truly well spoken.
THE RETUUUURN!!! OF ÖRASIIII!!!
Welcome back Kakio
Phew, Zulkaak avoided being skinned
Dracthyr piss me off because I absolutely love the Evoker. It's probably my favorite class, but I just can't play the race because of the look of it.
Zulkaak cinematic universe is back baby
Amazing video as always!!
THE BLOOD MOON HAS RISEN AND KAKIO LIVES! MIssed your stuff, Kakio, hope you get up and running again, 100% would join a Patreon to get bangers like this back!
Kakio has returned! Praise kak
so what I'm hearing is that Dracthyr are just scalie elves
As a newer player, Zulkaak is the Everyman I need to help me explore World of Warcraft concepts.
Yeah, dracthyr was a neat race to play. . . but give us more forms that ELF for the visage. Then again, I didn't bother being in any other form. Just wish they could be a little beefier for classes like warrior and paladin. I swear these dracthyr were scared of the gym.
Classic kakio! I like these videos.
I missed the Zulkak videos so much!
The ONE TIME Kakio is active again, interviewing players, I am not around as a potential asked person because I moved out from home and had no Internet for the past week. RIP.
THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION THAT I ASK MYSELF EVERYTIME I CONNECT!
He is so back!
As if Orasi is still around. Also happy you back.
Wow this guy sounds just like my raid lead ;)
i love the dracthyr. combined with vulpera they make up a massive chunk of my chars and i have accepted that i will not be beating these furry allegations. but on my dracthyr i would like to beat the dripless allegations
You know, you have a good point on why it would have made sense for Dracthyr to join neither side since they were already made to be weapons of war and may be disinterested in joining another.
I've missed Zulkaak! This was great lol.
omg the return of daddy kakio
i guess the algorithm really wants me to watch your content due to it showing me this wonderful channel at least once a year (also thank you for accidently being my first sight into the seemingly wonderful world of WoW
a video a year lets goooooo!!!
I really love the evoker class and flying its the only reason i started the game
I don't even play wow anymore but I love these videos
Orasi! Lmao thst was awesome.
I was disappointed when we didn't get Dracthyr paladins
My fav wow series is back?!
ZULKAK! YOOOOOOOOOOOO! Let's fukkin' go!
God i missed that stick hatman
Missed this!!!
For me the play style is just fun, I dont mind the dragon body type but would like them to add a bigger bulkier body type. Its become my new main and I enjoy raiding as one.
i spend a significant amount of time making my evoker look good but ive made a few mogs im happy with
Personally I’d been interested in a dragon race since BFA and after Dragon Flight I was pretty disappointed it got to the point that I felt they were unnecessary. My current idea that would make the Evoker class open to all races. By just have them turn in to a drake like form. To me that feels more like a dragon.
Dracthyr and all the other races added since the end of legion are blizzards response to the races and customization of BG3.
Being from the "friendship" expansion, the twink dragonlings, no matter how cool they make them, will always be cursed, similar to the panda people.
Yeeey he is back!!
What armor set is that at 1:08?
NM found it. It's the 11.1 tier set.
I definitely feel like I'm a minority, but I actually prefer my dracthyr to be somewhat armorless. I love the way she looks without being hidden under layers of armor. It could be that I haven't found any hunter transmogs that i actually like either, I suppose.
They could have given us Drakonid forms. But alas, we got a bad dragon advert on LSD.
I've missed your vids x
i play dracthyr for the sole reason that i am addicted to demon hunter movement, and dracthyr is the closest you can get to it for other classes
XD
We need a "Why earthen next"
we have to draw the line somewhere man
