This particular drum performance really speaks volumes on what a brilliant drummer Phil Collins really is his timing his speed is absolutely amazing I love the part when him and Chester go roll for roll.MAN!!! PHIL JUST ANSWERS CHESTER WITH LIGHTNING SPEED. AND BRILLIANCE. MAN I DON'T KNOW HOW A HUMAN BEING'S HANDS CAN MOVE THAT QUICK!!! TO ME PHIL ISTHE BEST WHEN IT COMES TO THE DRUM'S HANDS DOWN!!
Wow!!! I don't know if anyone noticed there's a part of this video where Phil Collins goes into a drum roll it's hard to believe a human being could move his hands so fast!!! With such brilliant accuracy!!! I've seen many drummers in my lifetime I can't put into words all I can say is what a brilliant drummer Phil Collins is.....♥️
💙 HOW have I missed this!?!😮 ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!😲🥰👏 Phil's lead and Chester's accompaniment makes it a perfect "symphony" performance of brilliance! You can tell how much the crowd was into it!!👏👏👏 And kudos to the editor of the clip!👏 The split second back-and-forth between their beats alone was amazing!! I had the best seat in the house just watching it here!😮😍🥰👏 LOL #getphilvotedin
Saw this tour in Denver, had side view seats 100 ft from Phil's Kit. Of the MANY amazing concerts Ive been to, including Under a Blood Red Sky I remember this moment the most.
Originally heard this duet on a flexi-disc that was included in Modern Drummer magazine. Never thought I'd actually get to SEE this great duet. Thanks for uploading!
Chester could eat Phil for lunch; he had to come down a few notches from Weather Report and the dual drummers that he did with Zappa which is what inspired Phil to hire him.
The coolest part about seeing these guys live back in the day is how Phil (being a weirdo lefty drummer) plays on a lefty kit, while Chester is a regular right handed player, so when they sit across from each other on stage it's like a mirror image of a drum set being played on both sides by different guys. Some shows they had almost identical set ups and it looked really cool, but they have quite different kits in this show.
Thank you for uploading this! I had this on one of those flexible records that was in my Modern Drummer magazine I bought as a kid. I listened to it all the time! Always wanted to see the video.
Wow!! While Chester Thompson is a great driver Phil Collins is really letting them know who's boss especially when they went roll for roll Collins came out much faster and more brilliant
As Jeremy said it is indeed a Simmons; you can see the pads probably at their greatest when used by Bill Bruford when he toured with _Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe_ : ruclips.net/video/QeDnavPiMxA/видео.html
Как же это круто. Отрепетированно идеально Вообще фил коллинз в своём роде изобретатель нового звучания. А на видео сочетание электронных и акустических (натуральных) барабанов
Don't know if anyone noticed, but they were playing with their eyes closed, most of the time. Absolutely amazing!
Seriously, once you know your kit, you don’t need your eyes open, and I’ve found it better for feel to close my eyes.
If Phil's parents only knew what would become of Phil when they gave him his first drum set!!!! Amazing!!!!❤
Also, that look on Phil's face at 2:55 when he hears Chester get the big applause is priceless.

So jealous! What a night that must have been. Absolutely electric!
Me too! Where did those years go 😲. Awesome experience. 😊👍
Just phenomenal with Phil Collins and Chester Thompson, saw this drum duet at the Tacoma Dome in the early 90s, spell binding!
That's impossible to see that in the early 90s that was from the invisible touch tour 1986
1987

I remember that.
As great as Phil Collins is let’s not forget about Chester Thompson playing with him. Chester is an amazing drummer as well.
He was with Weather Report prior to joining Genesis as live/touring drummer..... Anyone playing with Weather Report is already legend in my book

Two drums talking. That's what it was. I loved it

Greetings from Bulgaria ❤
I have be mesmurized by the speed of Phil on the drums
I love watching Phil, something about him and I love when he sings too!!
My favorite concert and drum solo/duet of all time.

Fabulous! Could listen to this for days, weeks...
Someday, this drummer is going to become a famous singer.
It's 1987. By that time he's been Genesis vocalist for 11 years already.
@@ravendark5588 he's joking he's being sarcastic
That's right, Phil took over as lead vocalist when Peter left.
He was already a legendary singer by this point lol. He even had solo albums at this time. :P
Chester doesn’t have much of a voice.
wow. unbelievable !!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. gives me goosebumps .
Goddam perfection...nothing less...nothing more.
Un des meilleurs batteurs au monde qui a donné son dernier concert hier sa carrière lui a coûté une colonne vertébrale 😢
Pure and simple: spectacular!!!!!
Best Drummer all the World. Both
Absolutely brilliant ❤
amazing

What TALENT!!!
Phil at the height of Collinsosity- that hair, rumbled dress-shirt, epic drum solo
Love this
Amazing
I saw that live. Woohoo.
Fucking Right!!
Good job 💥💢👍
Oh yea, and he was a monster drummer too.
It takes 'til 1:50 before you realize that they aren't just playing together, but are playing a composition.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤
Chester Thomason; one of the greatest drummers of all time. Phil, you are good also !
Are those electronic drums on Phil's drum set? (The hexagon shaped ones)
Simmons pads I believe. The first digital pads! You hear those same samples on many an 80’s album.
As Jeremy said it is indeed a Simmons; you can see the pads probably at their greatest when used by Bill Bruford when he toured with _Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe_ : ruclips.net/video/QeDnavPiMxA/видео.html
@@conradquek Also during his days of King Crimson as well!
Seen this?
