I'm not a Nigerian and please don't get me wrong it's just my opinion
I think the divorce process is very bad that law oppresses and enslaved women ,they want to make it hard for women to leave no matter how bad their husbands abuses them, it's not right 😢
That law has been passed through men! My sisters wake up❤

    • @Nezeville

Men that behave like Yul are truly evil. They hate you, and they don’t want you, but they also don’t want you to be with anyone else. They want you to perpetually suffer just so their own happiness can look even brighter when compared to the pain they continuously put you through.
But in reality it is that the men themselves are miserable, and they feel like they are competing with you. They know they made a mistake, and they don’t want to give you the opportunity to move on and experience true joy while they suffer the considerable of their own foolishness and arrogance. Truly truly wicked.

You're doing a very good job. The marital crisis of Yul and May has revealed a lot of things about divorce. Every sensible woman or man has got to learn good lessons. For those foolishly supporting Yul and Judy's lies ,it's to their failure to learn good lessons. We all are watching to see the end of this case. Well done my pretty lawyer. Again, marriage under the Act enjoys unlimited territorial jurisdiction. You can bring your petition in any jurisdiction regardless of where the parties reside or where the Marriage was conducted.
Another thing is that most people confuse judicial separation or just separation as divorce.

Your introduction was all that and more u had me lol ❤❤❤
The color green is popping on your skin it's beautiful on u ❤️❤️❤️
Divorce is a sticky situation I bet Yul wish he had went and talked to an attorney before he made that announcement. I know he still wants May he don't want to let her go he won his cake and eat it too. If he had to choose he would choose May. He have put his feet in concrete and he can't get out of this mess he let Judy walk him into. May would have took him back when they son passed but now there's no hope May will never reunite with him. Now in the USA STATE OF ILLINOIS LAWS ON DIVORCE.
THEY WANT YOU TO HAVE A LEGAL SEPARATION. IF YOU ARE SEPARATED FOR 5 YEARS JUST BECAUSE YOU HAD TO LEAVE AND YOU DID NOT GET A LEGAL SEPARATION THOSE 5 YEARS STILL COUNTS AS MARRIAGE YEARS SO IF YOU WAS MARRIED 10 YEARS AND WAS SEPARATED FIVE THE COURT LOOKS AT IT AS YOU WAS MARRIED 15 YEARS. IF YOU HAD A LEGAL SEPARATION THEN YOUR MARRIAGE ONLY WAS FOR 10 YEARS. EVEN THOUGH YOU WERE SEPARATED FOR FIVE. SO IT'S BEST TO GET A LEGAL SEPARATION. BECAUSE THE COURT IS GOING TO TAKE 15 YEARS INTO ACCOUNT AND THE 5 YEARS SHOULDN'T COUNT SO WHAT YOU ESTABLISHED IN THAT 5 YEARS WITHOUT YOUR PARTNER WILL HAVE TO BE DIVIDED IN THE MARRIAGE. SO YOU COULD HAVE BOUGHT TWO HOUSES DURING THE TIME OF THE 5 YEARS OF SEPARATION AND YOU DID NOT HAVE A LEGAL SEPARATION YOU WILL HAVE TO DIVIDE THOSE 2 HOUSES WITH YOUR HUSBAND / WIFE. NOW THAT WOULD MAKE ANYBODY MAD SO IT PAYS TO GO TO COURT. NOW WHOEVER PUT IN FOR THE DIVORCE AND THE OTHER PARTY DON'T WANT TO COOPERATE DON'T WANT TO COME TO COURT DON'T WANT TO SIGN THEN THE JUDGE WILL HAVE THE ATTORNEY RUN AN AD IN THE NEWSPAPER FOR 30 DAYS AND IF THAT PARTY DON'T COME TO COURT THEN THE JUDGE CAN DIVORCE THEM WITHOUT ONE OF THE PARTIES PARTICIPATING. THE DIVORCE WILL STILL HOLD AND IF THEY HAVE KIDS AND THE KIDS ARE STAYING WITH THE WOMAN SHE WILL GET THE MAIN HOUSE AND EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE SPLIT IN HALF. AND THE FATHER WILL HAVE TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT EACH MONTH AND IF THEY WERE MARRIED OVER 10 YEARS HE WILL HAVE TO PAY HIS WIFE ALIMONY. AND ALL THIS CAN BE DONE WITHOUT HIM EVEN STEPPING FOOT INTO THE COURT. A LOT OF MEN TRIED TO AVOID IT BY NOT SHOWING UP WELL THE COURT HAVE SOMETHING FOR THAT IT WILL STILL TAKE PLACE.
THE SITUATION WITH YUL/ MAY YUL WANT THEM BOTH AND MAY NOT GOING. JUDY IS NOT VERY SMART SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD YUL TO GO TO A ATTORNEY FIRST BEFORE WE DO ANYTHING. BUT SHE WAS SO BUSY THINKING SHE WAS GOING TO PROSPER SAD CASE OF A WOMAN.YUL IN IT NOW SO HE GOT TO LET IT PLAY OUT. I GUARANTEE YOU THAT YUL AND JUDY DO NOT MAKE IT TOGETHER AND JUDY IS MARRIED HERSELF SHE STILL MARRIED TO HER HUSBAND. YUL IS GOING TO HATE HER ALTHOUGH HE ALLOWED HER TO MISS HIS HOME UP BUT HE'S GOING TO HATE HER FOR THAT.

I watch your videos from Kenya and since we have also adopted common law from Britain (colonial masters) our laws are very similar to the Nigerian legal system. The marriage laws for Christian and court marriages have the exact procedure for dissolution that you have pointed out. For traditional, Islamic and Hindu marriages there is a departure on how they can be dissolved.
Also in Kenya, in order to maintain the privacy of the individuals all public documents relating to the Matrimonial Causes Act and children are pseudomymized.

There are genuine cases that all these unnecessary delays may lead to threats to life and cause more difficulties to aggrieved parties. Worse when the aggrieved may have been legally ignorant and could not compile evidences through the years.
May God keep us from marrying “weapons fashioned against us”
