Cheating is not a mistake, and it never will be one. It is a choice and always will be a choice. People who lack discipline or self-control even while being in a committed relationship/marriage, knowing the consequences it would bring, should never have gotten in that relationship/marriage in the first place. Mistakes are lack of communication, misunderstandings, arguments, not helping them when they need it,
not listening to your partners advice or dismissing their emotions. Same as beating them. It's not a mistake. Saying it's a mistake waters down the responsibility they need to take. It's an excuse. And taking them back only emboldens them to keep doing it because they know you're not going anywhere. They realized that they had found a fool.
