It seems complicated but it's actually kinda simple when you get your head round it. It's basically, when you've got loads of haste buffs, do 1:2, when you have some, do 1:1, and when you have none, do 5:5:1:1

This stuff is why I loved hunter in TBC so much. I played survival back in the day, and without really knowing much about shot rotations, I eventually ended up naturally on a 5:5:1:1, probably because It flows perfectly without the 20% attack speed from BM, but anyway, now playing this again it just felt pretty natural again. This is such an important part of the whole hunter class. Awesome video, man.

I've been doing pretty good dps without thinking about this stuff. Using this maybe I can actually parse well, so thanks.
Pretty much, I parse 99's not giving a crap about it, just spam steady and let the auto go off right after. When I try not to clip, I do much worse. As much as clipping an auto might suck, if your waiting a half a second for an auto to go off, your "clipping" a steady shot you could have been casting too. If I can perfect it that'd be great.

Hey mate, got a question. if i look at dps in a dps meter. and i see they have done 100 steady shots and 70 auto shots, that means they have been clipping right (as u can never have more steady shots than auto shots in any rotation)?

can do 5:6:1:1 with just AoTH proc if wanting to do something other than 1:1 / on shorter fights too with 0 mana issues

Unfortunately 6 Lusts isn't a very realistic advantage to have for every hunter, but the information on the different rotations was very well thought out, good video.
I sneak in the 5:9:1:1 occasionally. Once you get the hang of it, it’s not too bad.
So. The SS macro thats currently out there, that Always fire a AUto before SS actually works up until 3 hastebuffs? So you can basically spam that macro when you are in between French and 1:2

it is easy to understand, just hard to execute if you decide to go for the more ''intensive'' rotations

hello, why do you always cast 3 steady betwen multi and arcane shot. only 2 for 5/5/1/1 no ?
When you have 1.3 attack speed or below and are supposed to shift to 1:2 are you just spamming steady shot and assuming GCD will prevent you from clipping? Or are you actually supposed to be timing it to ensure you steady right after the second auto goes off?

Cool video man!! I just hit 70 about a week in ahalf stressing out on preraid bis how long did is take you to get 4 piece beastlord? I just got the shoulder and helm. Can you give any kind wordsfor the guys striving to get the 4 piece I’ve just been out rolled and lost rolls to enhance shamans. Is it even worth it to get exalted with the consortium for the dagger?
If shamans roll for beast lord with a hunter in the party they should be banned from the game and never get to play again.

Do you press steady when the new swing time starts or do you press it during the red arming time on the swing timer?
You can press steady when the bow swing timer hits the red section.

So, just to be clear, no serpent sting right? I never see anyone talk about it - is it purely just too much mana cost for not enough effectiveness? Or does it just mess up the rotation so badly that it's not feasible?
Costs way too much mana. Makes targets un ccable. Only used for pvp to keep rogues outta stealth imo.

Im using Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifle and i do more damage than my guildie who has full bis and uses kara bow and does 1 to 1 with multishot. Im always using arcane shot on cd. It feels so much smoother. Eslecially at high attackspeeds. My average js about 1.2 k dps using cheap gems and not optimal enchants no expensive scope. Other hunters in my raid have all this and still blow em away with arcane shot in my rotation.

This weak aura also shows what aspect you are using right in the middle of the screen and I can't figure out how to disable it or at least move it elsewhere. I'm also not very good with weak auras in general. Anyone know how to disable/move it?
Try clicking down on your middle scroll button on your mouse and try to move it. Or disable it by typing /wa and look for it and disable it
That's great for a rotation but what about when things are either skipping between speeds and you're not including kill command in any of this? Or am I not following this property
I want to know the answer to this question too, i seem to sometimes get a delay on that next Steady after Multi when there is a kill command attached to it.

At this point your cd are gonna back up at roughly the same time as it appears in the rotation... Soo just repeat
wait so whats the difference betweet 1:1 and french if they both involve weaving a multi after a steady?
1:1 you completely replace a steady with multi. French you weave the multi in after the steady
At 5:15 you do 3x steady shots with arcane right after the third and not 2x steady as you say in the explanation. I'm confused.
The point is to throw insta shot each time you have time to do it without overcliping. So you do
steady + auto -> steady + auto + insta shot -> steady + auto -> steady + auto + insta shot and so on
because each second rotation of 'auto+ steady' you have time to fit gcd between another steady + auto.

I also obtained a DST, Hell yah bruther!!! ahaha that little jib made me giggle. but with RF, Lust, Hawk and DST procing all together. i can shoot as fast a 0.9 a sec ooooo boy. so at that point do i just ride autos people say trying to squeeze in steadys at that point is just a dps loss.
It shouldnt be, since haste still affects steady shot, so to max the dps you should still steady and multi
How can you sim your stuff in tbc? I'm really torn on a peace and can't figure out which one is better.
Pawn is the addon that displays upgrades or downgrades in terms of percentage based on your current spec and stat weights.
There's a few sims out there now and one of them is really easy to use!

How do you not run out of mana?
How are you weaving in KC with all this? Is it macro'd to your steadyshot or something?
I'd recommend macroing Steady Shot, Arcane Shot, and Multi-Shot with a KC line before the shot cast. If you want to optimise, it's also a good idea to have a separate keybind as well.
Be wary that sometimes you'll have to hit your steady macro twice to cast KC and the shot itself, I find this to be one of the most common things to scuff my rotation (i.e. I only press once and delay or miss next steady). I've heard that doing KC purely manually, without being macro'd with other shots, can resolve this - but yet to test myself.
KC is off GCD so I got SS on 1 and KC on 2, multi on 3, before SS is casted I hold 2 release after cast then press 1 again. But honestly once you have enough crit KC is basically cast on CD it might be more efficient to macro it into everything once you reach that point

Using wolf slayer was horrible i ended up at 0,7 often in raids and was auto twice or even three times to 1 steady. I farmed SV HC and got the bow with less dam about slower speed 3.0, and got my first 99s that one is super nice and pulls ahead in DPS compared to wolf slayer gun.
Can u do a hunter guide to khara gear and other raid gear. I don’t know what to roll on.

Awesome video brother! I feel like I’m doing exactly as you say and still lacking in dps and the parses are looking horrible :/ 1:1 with a multi on CD doesn’t seem to do much damage and feels slow. French seems a little better but running out of mana real quick. I feel like I’m missing something but I have no idea what I’m not doing or doing wrongs. Full bis hunter with sunfury + dst and everything else
yeah i have the same problem.
I just had a hunter in my grp with shitty gear (he had a 2,1k GS and mine is ~2,5k) that outperformed me.
Me: 1700 AtkPower and 22% crit. The other Hunter: 1200 AtkPower and 15% crit. He said his rota is 1:1 SS - AS like mine.
I looked into Details and saw that he had more autoshots than steadyshots (sometimes 20% more AS than SS) and i had more SS than AS. His bow speed was 2.8 mine is 3.0.
But everyone is saying that slower bows are better, so i dont get why my dmg stinks compared to a low equiped hunter.

why not keep MS and AS on cooldown as much as possible without clipping? since SS does less dmg than MS and AS..? mana efficiency?
That's the rotation i use on my hunter but only on short fights (1~3 minutes) on longer fights is better to MS over AS for mana.

Yes
Really depends on the amount of hp left of the boss, if you like below 50% than it’s not most of the time, simply because it takes 6 seconds to ress and huge amount of mana
Pretty sure the rotation in TBC needs to weave in Raptor strike on most encounters at the very least, and melee swing is also worth it.

where do you find the ravager pet and a what lvl?
Lvl 61 in Hellfire. You will need to tame a 63 in Blade's Edge to get max rank gore. Don't forget to capture a pet to learn max rank bite too!

Clipping auto shot by casting over and over again will kill your dps. Get a swing timer it will help alot
