  • I deleted TikTok so you dont have to | why you should delete TikTok is a video about me choosing to delete Tiktok. I deleted tiktok for multiple reasons and in this video I go over the reasons why. I deleted tiktok so you would not have to. I deleted tiktok so you dont. You can see why I deleted tiktok and if it is a choice you want to make.
I was all my apps to be deleted soon. Social media and tiktok can be very toxic. Tiktok though does have benefits. If you want tiktok to be deleted and you are thinking about it. Do it. I did it so you dont have to. I deleted tiktok for many reasons and you should delete tiktok if you also feel this way.

    My reasons for deleting it:
    1. I spent 3h everyday on it
    2. I compared myself to people on there without even realising
    3. It triggered me with some things
    4. It takes up my phone storage!!!!
    5. Full of bad energy
    6. I need less screen time
    7. It clutters my head
It had tons of benefits for me like opening my eyes to fashion and interior design but the flaws overweight the pros.

Exactly. I’m a Gen-Z….practically EVERYONE in my generation has it. Am I weird for not wanting to download it?
I downloaded it recently to see what the hype is, but it really wasn’t all that. I feel like I should want to have TikTok to keep up with the trends (as dumb as that sounds), but I genuinely am happy with the social media I have. Which is only YT. TikTok seems like such a toxic community from all I’ve heard, and my short experience.

I deleted the app too 1-2 months ago, beside the bad addiction that I had that app gave me such bad vibes. I always felt that people were always angry, rude, cruel, every time I opened a comment section I would get angry for how bad people treated other people, the lack of humanity and empathy that that social gave to people started to scare me, and since I deleted it I found that I am always calm, I don’t get annoyed, angry, or any of that. Instagram is so much better because I can see content of people I chose to follow and I don’t have a problem with unfollowing or blocking someone that brings negativity, while tiktok fyp is random videos from everyone and you never know what you will se. Hope a lot of people can find peace deleting that app :)

I'm 16 right now- here are my reasons for deleting tiktok!
    1. I have anxiety and it makes my worries SOOO much worse.
    2. I'm plus sized and it makes me insecure seeing all these "perfect" girls, and "glow up tips". The mewing trend, I literally compulsively move my double chin because of an anti bloat trend.
    3. It supports the sexualization of younger people.
    4. It might be banned anyway.
    5. I can find art content, food content, and cat content here on youtube, which makes me feel good!!
    6. Tiktok made my ADHD attention span sooo much worse.

There is so much hate on that app. Every algorithm I tried to get there were loads of misinformation that massive amounts of people were just simply believing. Not to mention constant arguing. I hate the fact that I couldn't control what video I was going to come across. I would see hate videos that targeted my specific beliefs or interest with the comments being super hateful and there was nothing I could do about it. I hope I never download it again tbh it was super harmful to my mental health.

I tried TikTok, and at first I was thinking it was fun creating the videos, but it went downhill fast. I found myself becoming anxious about views/likes, I spent way too much time viewing and creating content and when I wasn’t, I was thinking of how some aspect of my life could be turned into content. People were also extremely rude in the comments and looking to pick fights for no reason. I’m a millennial who grew up with all the social media, and have always been one of the first to try new trends. This is the first one (aside from Twitter) that I deleted pretty much immediately. I’m 13, I deleted the app when I was 12
    Reasons:
    1. It wasted my time and made me super stressed the whole time
    2. It made me realize the things that I have to be “ insecure” from like example my face, I have a round or a chubby or a “baby” face , I didn’t know it was an insecurity until I saw a vid on tiktok. I’m still a bit insecure
    3. People are RUDE like hella rude they be randomly shouting “kys” at literally anything they dont like even at kids just trying to have fun
    4. No one accepts an opinion that isn’t taken by the majority of people.
    5. Most people on there are really cringe and dumb. They’d do anything just to get a couple of likes
I deleted it cause I just felt like it wasn’t on my level, instead of watching tiktoks I can do better things with my life
After I deleted tiktok I just felt so relieved. I also discovered other better things to fill my time with. It felt like I can be anything I want without getting judged by people on tt

This is so validating. I relate to everything you said so much. I deleted it today and I already feel SO much better. It’s like I can feel my brain regenerating. I would scroll for so long I would feel physically sick even when I actively did not want to scroll anymore and would desperately try to stop. I have barely any attention span and my body is used to that easy intermittent dopamine hits with no effort, subsequently making it unsatisfying to do things I actually enjoy. I’m hoping that will improve now that I’m off the app. I just downloaded it for fun and got immediately addicted, creators I follow are relentless about pushing me to make content when I’m just a lurker with a private account. I don’t know why they want me to post so badly. If more people are posting, doesn’t that lower their view count due to saturation of content? Anyway, the idea of posting tiktoks made me feel physically feel sick too. I should probably literally listen to my gut here.

My 3 reasons I just deleted it:
    1. I waste hours of my life on there. Whenever I couldn’t sleep or got bored, in the morning or anything, I would go on that which stopped me from finding a hobby or doing something else.
    2. Scrolling through a bunch of videos that made me feel so many different emotions in such a short amount of time can’t be good for me.

But tiktok seemed to make me the most sad, made me overthink, insecure, and made me incredibly lazy. Now that I’ve deleted it I feel so much better, I actually get up and do the things I need to do. I’m able to work on bettering myself instead of beating down on myself. I just think tiktok makes people sad and lazy, but that’s my story personally.

    • @MrAquarius2493
      @MrAquarius2493 2 года назад +1

Yeah same here. Along with the negativity, It's turned into a completely shallow and talentless app. I felt the same things you felt. Insecure, overthinking, lazy, and comparing and judging myself. It's like if you wanna get followers you have to be in shape, workout, or be attractive, and those creators could get up to like 100k followers in like 2 months and that's just unfair and biased. I had my tiktok for 2 years and have yet to hit 1000 or, which I felt I should have had a long time ago. My breaking point was when my fyp started to become full of people working out and chasing aesthetics and then this guy posted a video saying," I can't understand people who don't like to workout." Like who says that and who the hell is he to judge and how does what people are going through to say that. Finally I just said enough, time to delete this app and get my confidence back and get back to being active myself. I've been without it for two weeks now and it's the best decision I've ever made. I'm getting there slowly but surely. One day at a time.

I deleted TikTok 1-2 years ago. After a week without mindlessly scrolling on TikTok, I felt so relieved. I started socializing more with my friends and I was in a better mental state, and I'm still in a good mental state today. I'm so happy that I'm not an active user of other social medias (Snap, Insta, Twitter, etc). Still trying to cut my RUclips intake and I think I'm making progress. I wish people would do the same. All my friends are constantly on TikTok. After school, we can't even talk to each other because they're already glued to their screen. I will try educating my friends. I wish more people like my friends realized they're addicted.

honestly i just deleted the app tiktok and i deleted the app because for one i’m tired of all the teenage clones and young adult clones im tired of seeing all theses people being like each other and all the same faces especially being a teenager myself. for two i am aware that titkok has been spying on me and that made me feel ver uncomfortable. for three the app become addicting to me at some point. and for four the app made me feel even worse during my depressing moments in life, my anxiety, my self worth ect.

I deleted every social media platform except RUclips over a month ago…I feel so at peace. No one knows what I’m doing, where I am, what I’m wearing. There’s no pressure to express my opinion on anything. I feel healthier. I’ve gained 5lbs. My marriage has drastically improved. Life feels quiet and peaceful now.
