who's joining me in this so I wont feel so alone? 😁😁
I'm with you ☺️
i will! this summer i want to be more present too. and also to try all the things in this video, instead of spending all my time on tiktok. so let's hype each other up in this! it'll be definitely worth it in the long run 😊🫶🏻
I deleted tiktok nearly a year ago and I will say be careful of Instagram reels cause that shit sucks you in and now I'm just as addicted as I was to tiktok 😭😭 I'm tellin ya this short form content is evil sometimes I find myself scrolling youtube shorts 😔 I'm gonna try my best to live my actual life this summer tho this video is the motivation i needed !! 🫡
Yess I would love to try and see what happens. Thanks for he idea Marguie!!💕
i actually deleted tiktok two days ago ! and i wanted to delete the rest of social media too but i didn’t. but now, while watching this video, i realized i needed to do it so i just did
(im not a social media addict tbh but still it feels so freeing for me to just not have them in my phone) i advice you to do the same
i don't use social media about six months and i feel alive,no compare no short videos life is great. just youtube
@@ohhhitssondos0 actually,i sometimes watch shorts here but it's okay.we're just human not robot, i can't scroll in here(i watch youtube on my laptop)and it's not enjoyable so,it doesn't take my time so much
YESS!!!!!
@@marguie222 🤭🤭🥰🥰🥰
@@ohhhitssondos0 if you watch youtube on ur laptop, u should use chrome and get an extension that blocks youtube shorts!! i did that and even tho im addicted to insta reels, i dont watch youtube shorts anymore haha
@@ohhhitssondos0 I use a chrome extension to make the shorts disappear, in case you're also interested in watching more "normal" and long sized content, I did this because I don't want my brain to rot anymore because of ultra short content, it really affects my memory and social media in general are too much dopamine for a human brain 🥀
The chrome extension is called "Hide RUclips Shorts"
“how to play a Bm chord no borax no glue” is genuinely the realest thing i’ve ever heard i hate that chord sm it’s so frustrating 😭😭
somehow one day you´ll wake up being able to play all the bar chords, its crazy
@@welpsy0546 that is so real. UNLESS it's the like 4 or 5 fret wide chords 🤗 Those make me rage...
But it sounds so nice though ;(
I deleted Tiktok for the summer as well - 2 years ago - and I haven't gone back since. I think it is one of the best things I ever did!!!
omg you goooo!!
i deleted tiktok right after quarantaine and recently i've also deleted instagram. honestly; people underestimate how much the negative things online affect them!! i feel so much better without social media, even though it was v hard in the beginning
i wish i could delete insta, but i would get so much fomo :,) you go!!!
“Yes very healthy life” I say watching this at 1:00 am
no because same
I was like "It's not that hard" then the second I deleted it my whole body jolted, I was sad all my drafts were gone. I got to thinking, why do they matter? I realise it doesnt. Im gonna go without it, its for the better really
I KNOW IM STILL THINKING ABOUT THEM 😭😭
deleteting tiktok is seriously a decision i'm proud of,, its been 2 months i deleted it , i planned to come back during summer, but actually , my focus and my time management have been improving since i deleted this app sooo
SO PROUD OF YOU! it’s so so hard, it’s been a week and I still find myself unconsciously looking for the app :,)
@@marguie222 Honestly, the first 3 months are horrible. It's ok to "relapse" tho and scroll for an hour and uninstall it again. I'm without it for six months AND I STILL look for it. It'll take a looong time :,(
if i can ask, how do you manage your time now? i also have been trying yo get off tiktok but i after some time i just download it again
@@juliamosor9261 well i don't know about you but i used to read a lot more before , but using tiktok i started reading less, so now that i dont have it, i read almost every day, also i focus more on studying, when i have free time , i watch vlogs on youtube, tv shows, or sometimes i decide to put my phone down for a day and force myself to enjoy nature (it may sound weird🤣) , or simply people around me yk. I hope it helps :)
@@juliamosor9261 Hi! You didn't asked me but i also deleted TikTok since Christmas and since then I started learning languages, working out, cooking, reading books on astronomy... it's examples ^^
i havent had tiktok since september and i feel so free when people talk about trends that i have no idea about. keep going trust me its so worth it
honestly i have such big fomo, so i dont want to delete it. but the fact that you said you feel free when people talk about trends u have no idea about, it kind of makes me happier, look at it from a different perspective. thank you. you have no idea
I deleted tik tok almost 1 and half years ago and it’s nice, no constant flashes of sounds in my head all the time and no staying on the phone for 7 hours straight
lol this video came at the right time it’s like a sign. I had deleted Tiktok back in November but I’ve recently downloaded it again and slowly felt the addiction coming back.
def delete it again if you can!!!
@@marguie222 don’t worry already I did 👌🏾 not going back down that rabbit hole again
I haven’t had tiktok since 2020 or 2021. I honestly don’t even think about it anymore, I hardly even realize it still exists
same. I deleted it after it rebranded from being Musically back in 2018. didn't like how much the app changed so I deleted immediately.
I think the best thing I ever did in my life was delete Tik Tok. It made me live my life completely empty. The vast majority of my time was spent addicted to the screen, and I had forgotten how beautiful real life really is. When I look at it now, I see that real life is actually very different from social media. I don't know, the artificiality of that place disgusts me now
ah so true! i feel like an old woman complaining about how everyone now is so so addicted to social media and never actually form real connections. it's so dangerous and what's worse is that we have barely any studies on how it's affecting our brains long term because it's such a new phenomenon. plus teens and kids are still developing and when you grow up with the crutch it's harder to quit. there are loads of experiences and opportunities to be had and when you quit socials you realise how much TIME you have in the day. it really saddens me now seeing my friends and younger people not being able to interact without going on their phone every ten minutes- and you don't realise how bad it is until you're out of it. i urge everyone to just go without it for one weekend and see how different and better your life is
@@serafinacleo I totally agree with you 🩷
i still go on it occasionally because I want to share my art but other than that, yeah deleting it has been the best decision I've ever made. I thank 2023 me for randomly thinking "lets just delete tiktok and see how it goes" because my mental health and productivity have NEVER been better. ive learned to appreciate little moments more than I ever have, my anger issues lessened, and I'm a bit better when it comes to socializing haha
I deleted instagram for the summer and its one of the best choices i've ever made. I've learned how to do new things, express new ideas and learned that everything doesn't depend on scrolling or liking. I have also been saving money and being more musical like of course getting a guitar. I also deleted instagram in summer of 2021 which leads me back to that time and it makes me more independent.
Deleting TikTok and snap is 100% one of the best things I’ve ever done ngl especially as a 15 year old girl with exams and struggling with comparing myself
I deleted all my social media other than RUclips and Pinterest like 6 months ago and it’s honestly been so good
I've never used Instagram, tiktok, snapchat, or so, and i am glad about that, since I did try those out and stopped really fast after i had break downs and such about them. Sure, my mental health was really bad and still is, but i also learned so much different stuff and also tried out many new things. I always randomly decide what i want to do in my free time (no planning for specific times). For example, i once, while summer holidays looked up a place for berry picking. With those berries i picked, i learned how to bake a cake. The cake also tasted really good. The thing I've mostly loved and still do my entire life is reading books while drinking some tea and listening to music. My favorite book is a german book called "Der Sonne Nach" by Gabriele Clima. The book is about a 16 year old boy who, due to something he did in school which he shouldn't have, needs to take care of a boy in a wheelchair. It was the book we had to read and analyze in 10th grade for our german final exam.
Anyway, everyone is different in stuff like that, and I'm glad i am able to share what i like to do somewhere. I know it probably isn't a problem, but I'm sorry if i was rambling to much. What i also like is reading the different comments in this comment section on what they tried or do. (:
I deleted almost all of my social media expect for discord and fb messenger, and sometimes i feel alive sometimes i feel so bored, sometimes chained to the phone. But it was a good decision! Im gonna stay like this for the summer and see the results
good luck !! 🎀
I got rid of TikTok at the start of my senior for year of uni. Figured it'd help me focus more, and now that I've graduated I honestly feel that the last few months have allowed me to slow down and enjoy other activities more than scrolling scrolling scrolling!
Here's to a summer of no tiktok!!🎉
YEA!!
ive been trying to learn guitar this year and that shit is soooooo humbling 💀😭
SO SO HUMBLING, specially because I have the mindset that i need to be the best at everything right away :,)
I had a guitar for 5 years and still don't have the guts to learn cause if im not perfect then i give up😭
Had my guitar for 4 months now, it's so mf hard and I keep procrastinating😭
if y’all are beginners like me I recommend Justin guitar online! It gives me a lot of structure without having to pay for classes or anything, and he’s also a rlly funny guy lmao
I think you just saved my summer. And that's why I'm so grateful to you!
ihihihi 💗
I deleted tiktok some months ago and I have to say I don't miss it at all. Since I got used to not having it I feel so much better, because I somehow gained control over my own time by trying to make the best of it instead of just scrolling. Anyways good video as always!! I love your vlogs and it really makes my day when you post something ^_^
💗💗💗
never even got a chance to get off tiktok by myself, it was banned in my country
and honestly? the problem does not lay there only
i find little to no changes in my life, and maybe it was even better before because i used tiktok as a source of inspiration and a place of connection with others
so, saying this, it's really not that hard to delete tiktok, but self-improving after this is a whole another skill that you need to learn, and if your life after deleting certain social messages became better, it's mostly because you wanted to get better and you made special effort for this
be proud of yourself!! and know that you, as in anyone reading this, can make your life better only if you're full of enthusiasm for living, it won't come from the outside ❣
love yourself, and love the world around you
this takes me back full circle to the first vid i watched of you which was the social media detox
aaaaaaaaaa
oh actually same!!
30 days no TikTok and I can’t even begin to describe how great I feel. I’m so much happier, my attention span has improved drastically, things don’t irritate me as much, I don’t have brain fog, I sleep better at night, and I’m able to appreciate delayed gratification more. Honestly, this is the happiest I’ve been since I downloaded TikTok; I wish I deleted it sooner!
I haven't had tiktok downloaded since March 2023 and I've never felt better
wow ur the positivity i’ve been looking for 😭😭 i rlly love how ur up to do new things it’s so encouraging and refreshing!! defo earns u a new subscriber ☺️💗
aaaaa thank you and welcome! 💗💗
i never had tick tock but i significantly decreased my time on instagram the past week and i so proud of myself.this summer i want to learn to enjoy to do things alone, not just do them.i don't have friends for a long tie now but i spend so much time thinking "what if i had friends..".anyway, i guess time off the instagram will help me with all of that.
proud of you!! 💗
Deleted tiktok 3 years ago now, I feel so much better, same for instagram too. I just disappeared yesterday and unfollowed all of the people i not consider close enough to share my life. I will do this for the whole summer too❤ we get this girl❤
💗💗
Honestly i want to delete tiktok too. Last summer all i was doing is scrolling for hours. I used to be so much into art and sketching but i quited because of the little time i had. I want to start again and become beter at it. But i dont know how:(
delete it and try to go back on your own time! i’m sure you can do it and fall in love with it again 💗
i loved this is how you lose the time war, its such an interesting concept and so beautifully written!! as for beach reads, anything by taylor jenkins reid but specifically malibu rising is THE perfect summer read with amazing vibes :)
i’m really liking it!! although in the beginning it was a bit confusing, but i’m starting to get the hang of it !!
i deleted my tiktok about two summers ago and haven't had it since! im so glad because i was spending an ungodly amount of time on it. a few months ago i deleted Instagram and twitter too. i don't know that i am that much more productive, i still spend a lot of time on my phone, but i don't feel like its corrupting my brain as much lol. i feel super old when someone mentions a trending tiktok audio though 😭
the process takes time, and is tough but possible!! my transition from tiktok, to Instagram reels, to youtube shorts is insane. i can't have the youtube app on my phone because i will scroll for hours and hours. i also was finding myself 'bored' in situations where i shouldn't be, like watching Netflix and wanting to watch tiktok, but substituting it for something like a game on your phone and then something crafty to do with your hands without a screen is nice.
everyone who is going to give this a shot, i wish you so much good luck. you can absolutely do it. you have lived without tiktok before with a less developed brain and can definitely do it now!!
wishing you the best of luck as well ❤️🩹
“Quarantine was like 3 years ago“ wait what- Am I the only one who feels like it was barely a year ago 😭😭
I KNOW, IT WAS TOO FAST
I don’t use tiktok, but honestly I should delete instagram cause I spend a concerning amount of time on reels
I'm m from a pre - internet and social media generation! Overtime I have noticed the damage that excessive use of social media has done to the younger generation especially Gen Z.
I am amazed at the bravery and initiative of so many young people here deleting the social media accounts!
I have written and posted a poem called :- ANTI - Social Media!
i also deleted tiktok for the summer and it’s literally so freeing :D but i do get bored sometimes so thanks so much for this video!🌷
💗💗
I’ve never had tik tok and never felt better
this video describes perfectly how i want to spend my summer
have a good summer!!
i have no tiktok about 2 years and it feels so good 🎉 :D
Im almost years TikTok free and life has never felt better. I precisely choose what content to consume, and no algorithm controls my time. I find that TikTok, in terms of addiction and ruining the ability to focus, is the worst app and Im glad that its not a part of my life anymore (:
hi. ive been struggling really bad mentally and ive been thinking a lot. this video was really interesting and its really inspiring me to actively try and get better. i know im just some random person on the internet but really thank you a lot. just from watching this video im already deciding to stop talking in a vent channel on discord and im planning on trying to spend less time on discord itself. im very hopeful i havent felt this way in a long time,, thank you !!

Yoooo This is How We Lose the Time War!! I borrowed that book from my friend a few months ago and finally got around to reading it a couple days ago, I won't do any spoiling (although you may have already read it already lol) but It's wonderful and amazing so I hope you enjoy it/have enjoyed it!
Heyyyeyyeyeyeyy!! I read Frankenstein last summer and it just made me so so happy and it was so fun and light. I highly recommend it!
I LOVE THAT BOOK, but i would not say it’s light and fun 😭😭
I am proud of you for taking care of your mental health and yourself it is hard but it is healthier to live without it

I had a hard time deleting tiktok but luckily, my country did that for me. 😅
No social media going strong 💪🏼
thank you for sharing those links!!!❤
This is the first video of yours that I've watched and omg I LOVED IT, I relate to you so much 😭😭 I mean I also love when I can't stop thinking about a book (especially because I'm reading again after 4 years without doing so), I'm also trying to learn to play guitar, I'm not a movie girl but now I wanna start watching movies, and I HATE my adicction to social media and it's SO true that I only feel alive when I'm not using my phone. I really really really liked this video, thanks for motivating me into taking more time for my hobbies 😸🤍
glad you liked it !! 💗
i havent deleted tiktok yet, but i’ve been more mindful of how i use it. usually just for edits or art, and i won’t go over 30-40 minutes. this video and comments are very encouraging too… i wanna fix my attention span. and just actually live life, fully
omg i love the way you film your videos, very cool very slay. also i have deleted tiktok (and twitter) about 2/3 years ago because it was getting really bad on my productivity and self esteem and deleting it was one the best decision that i made lool that is crazy to say. i feel really inspired by your videos lately :)
thank you so much 💗💗💗 glad you made that decision!!
Not the tiktok ad right before the video😭

I can HIGHLY recommend “Imogen, oviously” which is also a light gay romance book. I’ve actually also read it on the beach, it’s perfect for summer!
And it’s so inspiring to see how you’ve deleted Tiktok, because I’m currently trying to do the same ;) good luck!!
thank you! good luck 💗💗
I'm Japanese and I'm so glad to see you on your video💖
I deleted Tiktok after watching this video. I don't know how long it will last, but Tiktok hasn't had a good effect on me, so I'll try my best!!
just discovered ur channel through this video and you’re literally so me omg
ihihi 💗
i deleted tiktok and instagram. it was a hard decision but i was feeling too bad and they were no help. seeing people being happy, being rich, being everything that im not was totally a mess for me. especially all the women who has perfect body, face, partners and life made me feel like im the black sheep. it's been 2 weeks since i deleted them and i feel a relief. life is so much more than instagram posts, life is so much more than a short form video. i decided to buy a journal to track my healing and already i gained my focus span back, feeling more energized, not having that anxiety that apps gave me, feeling like myself again.
p.s: if you're struggling with what to do when ur not online on tiktok or instagram here is a list I made for myself. maybe it helps u too❤
-reading a book
-trying a new recipe
-go for a walk
-cleaning and organizing your space
-bullet journaling
-learning a new language
-having a part time job for summer
-writing poems/songs
-trying a new instrument
-make a video diary
-doing origami
-trying diy projects
-film ur own short movie
-try sewing/crocheting
-take online courses
dont forget that there are so much more than just scrolling! gain your life back, be the epitome of it girl/boy/person. i trust you and believe you. go for it!!!
I love ur videos and I’m soo excited to see what you create 🙈
yayyy! thank you! 💗💗

I havent had tiktok for like 2 years and now my focus is to get out of insta reels, ive been trying for a week now and its actually working, i still feel the need to pick it up now but way less than some days ago. i absolutely love that book, the first one is so beautiful 💗
I'm doing this this summer! its day two and I'm realizing my attention span and dopamine receptors are literally fried. I'm getting back into my old hobbies from middle school and it feels so weird. It also feels kind of lonely without the illusion of being with people through the phone. It also feels weird to form opinions and tastes in style and music without validation from TikTok influences. its so hard but I'm sticking with it in hopes of it improving my mental health

yes do it guys it's so worth it. i deleted tiktok for 6 months and felt at my highest. i got it back and i feel low. I decided to delete it again a week ago and ive been feeling better. It only takes 22 days to form a habit. There's so much to do in the 4-6 hours spent on tiktok a day and we just are blind to it. instead of bed rotting this summer i highly recommend just putting your fucking phone down and going outside, it feels great.
girl.. im new to ur channel and i loveee your energy so much
aaaaa thank you so much ihihi
I've been truing to do the same for almost half a year, but I had no idea how hard it was going to be... Aparently, when I deleted Tik Tok, I just moved ti Insta reels. Not on purpose, it kind of happened by itself. Then I deleted Instagram and here goes youtube shorts... This shit is soo addictive, not less than a chemical addiction. What you said about muscle memore is so god damn right, we scroll theise videos almost unconciousnesly and can't even remember a single one in a few moments, I swear, it is so bad for your memory an attention span. But on the other hand, our brain likes that shit cause we don't have to think and use our brain in any way, so it just turnes off and it takes efford to turn it back on. And the more time we give in to weakness the worse it becomes and the harder it is to get rid of it. So I'm very impressed that you could do it and thanks for giving me and a bunch of other pepole motivation to follow your example♥
(P.s. Sorry for possible grammatical mistakes, english isn't my first language😋)

Hey, I'm so happy for you! I've deleted TikTok 8 Months ago after being addicted for 4 years, honestly most of the time I don't even think about it anymore. I absolutely don't miss it, I would never install it again and not sure if this correlates but my life really improved over the last few months. I'm socializing way more than before and I do really much for university compared to back then. Honestly my screen time is still horrifying, which is why I'm generally trying to shorten my mobile phone usage rn, but one step at a time :)
you got this ❤️🩹 i believe in you!
its really terrifying for me how easy is for our generation to lose our attention span, I installed tiktok some months ago (cuz i never really used it) and it's dangerously addictive, i never felt so guilty on spending my time just using my phone for that, i hope this type of things change for the good in the future
i just read this book called "far from you" by tess sharpe and i enjoyed the reading. i gave it 3 out of 5 stars (which, for me, it's a good rating laslska). a few things here and there bothered me, but just bc here in brazil it was released last year and it's originily from 2014, so sometimes i was like "girl...?", but yeah it's a fun read! k, not >fun< bc it envolves murder, but you get me 😭
will add it to my list!! thank you💗
don't delete it for summer - delete it for good. did it on january 1st as one of my new year's resolution and it's been one of my best choices ever. also planning to delete instagram as well
probably won’t download it again, i’m so much happier fr
definitely not a light read, i would say, thematically speaking, but a really good reading, with a strong going foward kind of narrative, that flows like blood, like waves in a angry of flood, with the irrevocability of volcano eruption, is the novel by the great brazilian master Graciliano Ramos: São Bernardo. I think anyone, in whatever place in the world, would enjoy reading this book, it is so well written.
i’m going to add it to my to read list 💗
Girl u gave me motivation 😟✨✨✨

I've been slowly deleting social media over the past year and I'm really happy with my decision, TikTok was especially hard and I actually got anxious thinking about missing out, but I slowly got over it. AMAZING VIDEO WHAT. my thoughts exactly
I just started noticing that every video I was scrolling through was negative. That negativity slowly seeps into you. But at the same time, what else is there to do when all of my friends are on there too? I get this massive feeling of missing out and like there's something bad that will happen if I don't hear about it and get involved. That gets overwhelming so quickly.
i get it !! i’ve been feeling the same, but i’m trying to find ways to deal with what i’m feeling, instead of scrolling mindlessly! sending you love 💗
I deleted tiktok like a month ago, downloaded it a couple days ago and decides to delete again. It really does make a difference. No mindless scrolling
