I know there are going to be people who feel like she’s being pessimistic, jealous or mean, but this is simply the truth! People will post on social media and fake it everyday and share everything for validation and boastful reasons.
I know how this girl feels. When I was on Facebook, I lost count of how many times I felt like Charlie Brown not being able to kick that football! After watching a bunch of videos of people quitting social media, I just acted on impulse and deleted my Facebook account. No regrets.
i’m 23 years old and i always hated instagram cause people just judge and compare each other and it’s super annoying. social media has just messed with my mental health. it’s not worth it and you can lose so many friends because of it.
Ohhh my Gosh I’ve been watching soo many videos and you’re the first one to mention the friends thing, I relate 100% !!! I was often “envying” other people’s social life, and stared to question myself if I was a pleasant person to be around, which never happened before my addiction to Instagram
One of the biggest reasons I left social media is because I felt like it was not only making me depressed , but I felt that it was making me STUPID. Literally just felt like my brain was fried with nonsense
Oooh yes! The part you mentioned about interrupting frustrations or challenges in work by switching to social for a dopamine hit resonates. I noticed that about my habits shortly before deleting social media. Thanks for sharing your experience! I really value hearing about the insights you took away. :)
I’m so happy you could resonate to that! 🙏 social media makes overcoming distractions and frustrations close to impossible, and it’s such an important skill to develop.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. All of this is so true to me personally because I'm 22 years old, and I've dealt with cyber bullying on both my Instagram and Snapchat. After that, i've realized to myself that it was too much for me and it was a distraction since i was scrolling on all my apps. A lot of people would always show off and were fake because of it. It caused me depression, anxiety and rejection. Those people weren't always responsive to me, so they weren't even friends at all. Finally, I plan to delete all of mine pretty soon.
Please make more videos like this! I recently deleted instagram (not yet TikTok) but just you sitting in ur car/podcast vibe is so entertaining and great to listen too ❤
Awww 🥺 thank you 🙏 I’m actually working on a podcast right now and it should be live in May!! I’ll post an update on my RUclips channel when it’s out 🥰
I just deleted my Instagram account - this app was the issue for me, never had TikTok or Twitter or Snapchat. I deleted the Facebook app but kept my account active and only the Messenger app on my phone. I feel a huge sense of relief and space now in my life to do things intentionally only. And also I was getting fed up with the exposure to random people and ppl reaching out to me who I really don’t want to talk to. And btw I TOTALLY relate to you when you said that you got self conscious about being alone. ❤ it’s the same for me, I am quite an independent person and spend most of my time alone even though I have some true friends. But social media makes me feel like I’m some weird outcast of society. Love your video and happy for you! 😊
Real life is very different to 'social' media. It's much more relaxed, and fulfilling to be off it. I had a spell of 10 weeks off Instagram and It was amazing. I re-downloaded it and re-activated it and saw that there was a yearning for nostalgia being plastered everywhere. And i think it's really terrible for mental health to have that in your face constantly. There's a yearning of people who use the app to experience genuine emotions. And in the end, I deleted it again today. It just doesn't seem worthwhile. The juice isn't worth the squeeze. It's like it trains you to live vicariously through content... It's cuckoldry. Fuck that
Great video! There are people who show off on social media like they’re a celebrity / well liked / important which isn’t the case. They’re imperfect. Some people are fake and look to get something from you. Also some people are so petty that even if you apologise to them (if say you’ve done something wrong) they can’t move on! Therefore I prefer quality over quantity. I also prefer smaller group of friends/family who can I relate to etc.
I left Facebook in 2022 and don't plan on going back. I got sick of all the political posts and people talking about their "perfect lives." Never had a TikTok account because I didn't see a point to it. And I seldom post on Instagram because I don't have a huge amount of stuff to say.
I personally like seeing people share the highs of their lives bc I feel happy for them and frankly I feel like with all the bad news in the world please tell me your highs. However, I feel instagram is so addictive and I think I spend too much time their.
I just deleted my Instagram. I'm not gaining anything valuable there, except for people showing off every chance that they get. I don't feel jealous or anything, but I do find myself getting really bored of the highlight reels. I don't see anyone posting realistic, real life shit. In my case, I've been posting a lot on my Insta stories and I've been posting memes and humour stuff, mostly. When I get personal, it's not just about the good stuff. It's also about the not-so-good stuff. I just wish that everyone there kept it real instead of portraying perfect lives.
Yep I hope you guys learn about social media it can hurt you deeply though stay away from people whom ain’t checking on you daily no meaningfully purpose to it a… this world we live today is not all that crack to be !!!
This came up in my recommended. I'm a 16 old Australian boy. I watch guns, cars, and random shit. dunno how this came up in my recommended. still good advice, I would send this to my sisters probably.
Thankyou for this video! Personally I struggle with FOMO more when I delete Instagram/Tiktok. (I’m not able to check what they are doing, I need to be in control) any tips to not download those apps again after maximally a few days?
I recommend taking time to do inner work 🧘🏻♀️ it’s important to understand why we want control. What helped me a bunch was understanding that unless I’m directly told something, I wasn’t suppose to know about it. 🙏
I was talking about my experience of being on a 5 month social media detox 🙂 Now that I have a different perspective, (like I mentioned in the video) I’m back to creating content!
Same, I would have my password saved and would be back online within seconds and start scrolling non stop for hours….yesterday I took the leap and actually deleted my account…just gotta wait 30 days for it to delete for good
So true! Social media is too addicting. We should all take a break. Hey, so I’m a video editor and I was wondering if there was somewhere I could chat with you about editing a video for you?
You don't delete social media when you're going to create a new one when you don't have time to spend with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, because i deleted mine impulsively, and re-made another account, that's not only you, don't delete, just don't use it when you don't need it.
I don‘t know honestly. Of course it’s fine to use social media if you’re able to regulate your screen time and use the apps mindfully. But why even bother to look what’s going on in other people’s lives? I recently heard someone say that you’ll know what your friends are doing with their lives because you’re in touch with them through texting and meeting in real life. And for me, this is so true. It was just the same for all the generations before us: you knew about people who you cared about or who lived close to you, that’s it. So why even bother to see what anyone else is doing and why continue to consume smth if you can improve your life quality (or at least try to) by giving up on smth that is more harmful than beneficial?
Umm, i meant to say it in a nuanced way to get to know people and understand that there are varieties of different people with their strengths and weaknesses and understand that i'm not the first and only person on earth and that the world revolves around me and i'm not the only conscious being, and not like literally get in a way of ones life.
Everyone is different, many people are able to live on their own without double asking their sanity and others need validation such as "Are these somatic feelings i have normal in my limbs" and others are able to deal on their own, everyone is different, we all live nuanced lives that is variable, and everyone has their own needs and not necessarily desires, people are people and not objects of interest.
Its a great video But there is some point of view is your point of view ! There is things that I do not relate to and you seems to judge people as probably not a good friend because they don’t remember there birthday which in my case a birthday is not important at all… I have friends they would always be there for me and very good friend but they just don’t know about my birthday… so well There is différent point of view and everyone is different! But if I don’t know or forget the birthday of somebody and that person tell me im not a good friend mmmh lol… that would probably not happening in my surrounding or it would be more like a joke type of thing to bug me out as a sign of love ❤️ But in another point im glad to see that you are able to reconize that social media is a show in general and thats not the real life of everyday… Put your value in the right place and be able to value yourself as you are and be able to improve as you can see whats need to be improve and be better. Then you was before as a person for yourself ! I think posting is a good thing when you do it for yourself and thats a great place to rewatch memories over years! Also to share or teach your point of view and knowledge from experience or simply entertaining people ! Its good to keep your feed with positive and uplifting stories with humble people ! Not just good imagine and good actors seeking attention to feed the ego but we are all on the life journey to learn and try to enjoy this beautiful experience in this amazing world 😊 with different version of ourself everywhere around ! And to add another point sometimes its good to capture the best shots and see if its taking off 🛫 it is a fame and life is a playground sometimes the games is very fun to play and for me im an artist and videomaker so I love taking shots and when I take a great one that im prode of myself because For me thats the reward for me then sometimes I end up sharing them so you can also benefit from it 🎉 Keep creating you seems to like it and your also cute 😃 nice teeth 🦷
RUclips isn't social media. It's more like TV channels really but you don't need to have a corporation or a broadcasting firm. Sure there are comments but people aren't usually using YT or feeling insecure that their partner is following women for the pics etc. Usually here people have something to say or share

Instagram is where people are in a competition of who can fake the best life

Delete and LIVE!
I just deleted my Instagram. I don’t miss it one bit. One of the best decisions I’ve made this year.
Reading this made me very happy 🙏😁 enjoy the Instagram free lifestyle!! ☀️
💯
Amazing video 💪 people who get upset by the video are the ones denying their own addiction. Keep sharing love.
You summed that up perfectly 😌 I will continue to do so 🙏
I'd get zero social interaction if I did that though, most of the old friends I have are on there, and I only meet new people on FB/Insta.

You're so well-spoken. What you said was so real.
🥺 thank you so much!!! I’m really happy you could resonate with what I said!!

I'm proud of you. Good on you for trying to break an addiction. You are beautiful. Don't get sucked back in, you are worth it.
🥺 thank you!! That’s so kind of you to say 🙏 I deleted social media again 4 days ago and I’m loving the offline life!!

Just deleted mine, felt really alone recently. And social media has made me feel that way even more. Hopefully I can start to feel happier x

I realised that when a person dies that their Facebook page stays up forever. It can't ever be deleted after a person dies. A big no
I asked my co worker recently what her screen time was and it was only 5:30pm and her screen time for that whole day was 13 hours.
