For the love of god. YES you can use this monitor with PS5 and Xbox Series X😬 and NO it does not matter that it doesnt have HDMI 2.1 because that's for 4K 120Hz specifically. Google it.
@Blep it doesn’t support 1440p but it lets you select 4K 60hz (which the majority of games will still be using) thanks to having HDMI 2.0 at least.
You won’t be getting 4K 120hz though.
How is the contrast ratio for you? Does it hit the advertised 1000:1? Also doesn't GSync come with its own LMB? Is that not enough?
Sadly this is both true and false; yes, you can only get 4K120Hz HDMI with the 2.1 spec, but that is not the only reason to go with HDMI 2.1, VRR support(Xbox Series X has at launch, may come to PS5 later) and Full HDR with True 10bit colour(non of that 8bit+FRC bullshit gaming monitors currently have) are another reason to wait for other monitors to come out that include this port, and as of now not a single monitor in the market includes it.
@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruh There’s a reddit post somewhere if you google the AW2721D, that it will offer true 10bit with a firmware update.
@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruh not true. you can use VRR on HDMI 2.0 remember like... 2 years ago Microsoft enabled it. And most monitors aren't aimed towards console anyways and when you start to add a lot of different HDR Factors sometimes they end up dropping the refresh rate anyways.
I would like to see more console specifically promoted monitors but i dont think that will happen but basically we need more 4K 144hz and up panels with HDMI 2.1 to have wide compatibility for xbox and ps

@@jwags24 tbh its for sure setting a great standard for 1440p with 240hz in my opinion its the better option over 1080p 360hz the picture and visual quality overall dominates 1080p its definitely worth the upgrade

Get discount with dell for one thing but this monitor is what I was waiting for since I started using 1440p and combined with my 3090 its awesome. And let's face it I ain't going to need to upgrade it for years to come.

Great video mate, Can your rtx 3090 reach the 240hz constantly on games like destiny 2 or at least get close?
Noooo destiny 2 barely gets consistent FPS at all lol. It’s consistently inconsistent 🤣
@@TooMuchTech oh that makes me feel better 😂 I feel like ive done something wrong , I've seen people saying 300fps in destiny 2 for rtx3090 and ryzen 5950X @ 1440p but mine seems to stay between 100 - 150fps as an average, am I missing something? 😅

Yo thanks man, I ended up returning my G7 for this Alienware and I couldn't be happier, it is so much better!! I wanted to mention, my Series X runs absolutely perfectly 1440p 120fps on it (I got it for my PC obviously but wanted a monitor that could also run my Xbox well) There was actually a noticeable bit of input lag on the G7, whereas the Alienware feels instant, wayyyyy better.

I mean aside from the fact that you obviously shouldn't get this monitor EXCLUSIVELY for the series x (if that's the case, go with a 144Hz), but if ur looking for a killer monitor for ur PC that will ALSO run the series x great, yeah this one does both very very well. I'm super happy with mine.

I bought a monitor Alienware aw2721d (2560x1440@240fps) a few weeks ago. The problem I experience is that, whenever I import the gameplay in Premiere Pro (recorded using OBS and Nvidia GeForce Experience Shadowplay), the video footage has issues with contrast and brightness.
I opened the recorded gameplay footage using VLC media player and the colours are fine. I view the gameplay footage in Premiere Pro and the colours are different.
Solutions attempted in the PC: Settings - Display - advanced display settings - Display adapter properties for Display 1 - Color management - color management - tick the ‘use my settings for this device’, then pick the sRGB virtual device model profile as default. ‘I didn’t solve the issue’. The HDR on the PC is turned on. The HDR on the monitor is also turned on.
Solutions attempted in the Premiere Pro: Preferences - General - Display Color Management tick. ‘I didn’t solve the issue’.
My Alienware PC specs include: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x (cpu), Nvidia RTX 3090 (gpu), 64 Gb (RAM), 0TYR0X (motherboard).
Monitor drivers, Graphics card, Bios, Cpu, Windows 10, Premiere Pro are ALL up to date with the latest drivers.
Did you guys find any solution cz it drives me crazy.

Do you think using the pre-calibrated picture presets (FPS, RTS/MOBA, RPG, Sports, three
customizable Game modes, and ComfortView with a low-blue light filter) are enough to see correct colours instead default over-saturated colours?
Because i don´t have hardware to cablibrate the monitor and also i don´t know how to do it.
Just got this bad boy and its absolutely amazing. Have tried every high end monitor and this is my favorite. Hdr was actually way better than expected for hdr600
Think ima pick this up over the g7 , alot of people impressed and happy with this 2721d

I'm new to your channel so sorry if you've done this video already but if not, I would love to see you test BattleBeaver's custom controllers with back buttons (if you like back buttons). I was thinking about getting one when I get one of the new consoles but I want to see more people's opinions on them first but so far everyone seems to like them even after months of use. Other people are welcome to share their BattleBeaver controller experience too by replying to this :) It would also be cool to see a video of your pc setup with parts, peripherals, etc.
I love Battle Beavers back buttons. They are so much better than any Paddle I’ve used. You can even customize the exact position you want the buttons to be where your fingers naturally rest.
If you order them I suggest getting the quiet buttons. The regular ones are deafening and fairly stiff.
Great review my man. Do you think anyone will release a 21:9 1440p 240hz monitor soon? Been looking at getting one of these but I'd much rather stick with an ultrawide with 240hz if they ever exist.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out this year or next. I think acer I want to say has a 200hz that’s either out or on the way

Hey M8. You tested the input lag with the mouse with gsync on or off?
This is my first ips and 1440p and it ruined 1080p forever. I do notice a bit of ghosting on superfast setting when playing Valorant and Overwatch, but its to be expected for a 1ms ips. Also the menu is simple but i wish it had more options for things like color calibration. Could you tell what game setting (standard, fps, moba) you used when playing, and what brightness and contrast too. Great review, on point. 👍
I use RPG! About 70% brightness and I think contrast is at 53%

Can you give me some advice please I currently have an ASUS 4K 60hz with NO HDR and I’m looking to upgrade for my Series X. The thing is I’m looking for a 4K 120hz+ with hdr but I’m not sold on the current monitors.
