I have had 2 AW with dead pixel, so ordered a G7 to try before getting my AW replaced again. The G7 has far better blacks and no IPS glow, I would actually say it looked slightly better to me. However the curve I could not get use to. In games its great but when using for work or browsing I hate it. The Samsung seemed to be less bright and kinder on the eyes. The AW had far better build quality and Samsung seems a little plastic. AW also has 3 year warranty over the G7 1 year. I read that the AW has lower input lag if that makes a difference to you. If the Samsung was a flat screen it would of been so much harder to make a decision and I might of gone with the G7. I went for the AW in the end.
sadly i dont think that alienware can create a monitor without a dead pixel. Went through 3 panels to get one that didnt have a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. My 25" has a dead pixel in the bottom left of the screen so i never see it. Still annoying AF.
@@nashwalker7 Don't complain, at least Dell/Alienware actually replace their panels if you have any dead pixels. Samsung and LG do not replace the panel unless you have at least 5 dead pixels or more.
Your response time numbers are way off. The Alienware barely gets under 4ms and the G7 gets around 3.5ms. Your number of 6+ is inaccurate and makes this video show a clear winner. Watch Hardware Unboxed video on the 2 monitors.

@Garlicbread Fan I personally don't mind it. I went from using a pretty budget monitor to this one so if anything its quality may not be the best, but definitely way better than my previous monitor.
Ultimately: Buy which ever of these monitors suits your needs & your price point. You'll be happy with either purchase most likely. At the end of the day, if you love the product that you purchased, life is good!
After using G7 for a couple of months, I’m happy I chose this over the AW. Colors are hard to beat, and when I have friends over the experience they get playing on it is jaw dropping
no doubt...even when i fist saw it at microcenter back when it launched it was MOST Definitely the best looking/performing gaming monitor...but the price JFC....i literally bought a 27" nano ips...and a 34" VA mi monitor vs the cost of a 32" g7. I had to get the 32" bc it was bigger and i felt compelled to run multi monitor with the 27" as either were hard to pair for multi monitor and its CURVE....i had to pass on the G7. Even so you need pretty BEEFY gpu power to really push games like apex/warzone up to 240hz/fps....and i dont really find games like cs:go siege/valorant that ideal to play at that resolution anyways.
Note: As of a couple days ago, Dell dropped the Alienware AW2721D to $889.00 USD. I'm assuming this price will only get lower. This is most likely due to the fact that other brands are starting to release more 1440p 240hz IPS monitors (Acer, AOC, and ASUS). Dell/Alienware knows they are no longer the only ones.. I purchased the AW2721D on Amazon for $735.00 USD and fucking love it. ALSO another thing worth mentioning. Amazon says it wont be delivered until January. I purchased mine 2 weeks ago with the intent that it was supposed to be delivered the first week of Jan... But arrived 3 days after I ordered it. I'm NOT saying this will be the case for anyone here who decides to purchase it from Amazon, but I'd figure I'd share my experience.
Got the Alienware for around $750, 100% worth it especially with their financing, got a free credit boost with on time payments for it. But it's amazing in games and have little to no complaints. Only thing I could complain about is the size of the legs, or small spots with panel edge glow because of the IPS panel.
I appreciate your review / comparison. I had both of these monitors sitting in my wishlist Amazon cart. After watching this video, Alienware is the monitor I’ve decided to go with.
Odyssey g7 in sync mode has adaptive overdrive same as the gsync ultimate in the Alienware, but without Nvidias official board and its various modes are turned off because of this. And in this mode it is also the most consistent of the 2 in terms of overshoot all the way through the refresh range. Update the monitor's firmware and enjoy. u should look into these things when you do comparison reviews
Maybe you missed the part in the video when I was talking about the G sync compatibility and the low input lag mode you can’t have it enabled at the same time, so it’s not nearly as versatile as the Alienware you can just turn it on and leave it on
Great review! I've been debating what monitor to get next to go with my 3090 and I think you sealed the deal with the Alienware for me. I've owned Alienware monitors in the past and their higher end products have been shockingly good.
Please help me I been researching monitors for months now I can’t decide lol. It was out of these two monitors then I was looking at the G9 and then the lg”s. I just can’t make up my mind I’m definitely getting the G8 when it comes out. I don’t have a budget so please can anybody help me out
I agree that the Alienware is easily the better piece of kit. However, I ended up finding the G7 on sale for $500 and couldn’t resist myself. At that price it’s more than half of what I’d pay for a few inconsequential features on the Alienware. The only problem I’ve had with the G7 so far, after setting it up yesterday, would be how large the stand is. I know you mentioned it in this video, but jeez it’s big. Even if you have a massive desk I’d still be prepared to buy a monitor stand almost immediately. Other than that, the G7 has been an amazing experience for the few hours I’ve tested it thus far.
are you still impressed with the g7? In addition, in the long term, the curve began to bother you in games? Is a flat monitor better for reading or watching movies?
@@frannydelacruz3724 After using this monitor for over a year I can easily say it’s worth the money. The curve is awesome, not only in games, but also while viewing media. One you get used to it, you really forget the curve is even there. It simply just makes everything seem so much more immersive in a way. The performance is also very good and the quickly adjustable settings are nice when transferring from game to game. The only drawbacks are the giant monitor stand which takes up a lot of space on the desk; I recommend getting a monitor arm for this reason. Also, I have some backlight which bleeds onto the corners of my screen when it’s pitch black. However, this is kinda unavoidable unless you’re getting a super high end model. Overall 10/10 would buy again.
@@brandonhood1936 I have seen many curved screens and if you forget that it is curved. i will buy this one for 519 euros thanks for the information i also ordered a stand. i was confused by the reviews.
I just bought the G7 , I play in dark room and bright room. I wanted the increased contrast as well. Oh yeah, amazon has it for for 495 and 78 more dollars for a r year protection plan. Easy choice.
I've owned the g7 since it came out the only real issue I have with it is the stupid long legs and that's it its really the best monitor I've ever owned
I owned G7 and as always Samsung with alot of flaws!!! Broken back plastic, very weak in general, also black pixel appeared in the middle after one month. Im done with Samsung for the rest of my life, same happened when i bought samsung s8 edge couple years ago it was dead pixel in the corner of the phone! What a shame cheap company Samsung is! Now i sold my monitor and waiting for Alienware AW2721D to arrive. As far as i heard their monitors are on par with the best, high quality too! I mean it’s 20kg weight, where Samsung is only 8kg! Says alot about cheap build quality of Samsung. Can’t wait for my new Alienware much higher brightness and no more retarded curves on the screen which are clearly flawed from the phones to their monitors. All these reviewers who say Samsung G7 better, probs got some money from Samsung to promote. Hot garbage trust me, i used it for 5 months!!!
lol I purchased mine 2 weeks ago with the intent that it was supposed to be delivered the first week of January... But arrived 2/3 days after I ordered it. Love it
Thank you so very much for the video man. You've helped me make a decision on the two monitors with this video. So far you're the best review channel that I've come across that really goes heavily into detail about how the monitors perform and their numerical stats. You really do a great job.
I got the G7 and I like it, even though it's a typical buggy-ass Samsung VA panel. But if you get it for a good price and realize this beforehand, it's an absolute blast. But things like being able to set the refresh on the monitor to 240, setting it to 144 in windows and then having a really stuttery experience is standard fair for Samsung panels and *many* people don't realize little things like that. Your game will recognize 144hz, but your panel will try to output 240hz and that will clash and result in jittery uneven framepacing for instance. Same with backlight bleed and quality control. I learned that I don't mind VA backlight bleed as much as IPS glow so for me it ended up being a simple decision between Black Friday deals for the G7 27'' (350 euros) and LG Gp850 (370). Tried them both, decided to keep the G7. For that price I can take the buggyness and live with it. I just don't understand the input lag numbers though. According to most other reviews the G7 is basically one of the fastest panels out there. According to your numbers, my previous panel was faster in that regard. Most even measured it as faster than the Alienware... by about 0.3ms on average across reviews.
You touched on a great topic, I thought the same thing as you while watching this video. The latency values about the G7 are completely wrong in this video
I think you may want to look into your input latency results regarding the G7. When you look at places like Rtings where they have tested both input latency and response times the G7 is usually only 1ms behind the fastest IPS esports monitors on the market, which is stellar for a VA panel.
Which is fine - if you look at numbers alone. But after using the Alienware 27, and owning the Odyssey G7 as well as the Acer Predator XB273U GX, I can honestly say that both IPS panels *feel* noticeably snappier than the G7. Again, they are perceivably quicker when each is set to its optimal settings. And I notice the differences my gameplay to because I can tell in my stats that I play more consistently with the Alienware and Acer as well. Numbers aside, the experience of the two IPS panels *feels* quicker
@@TooMuchTech Update! I recently found out the G7 panel can have big latency differences depending on the firmware version you are using and one small setting added in a firmware update to help some people with VRR flicker. An option called "VRR Control" was added in a firmware update and can be found in the "System" options of the montor. That option helps reduce VRR flicker for some people, but it also drastically increases latency by up to 7ms. That could be a reason for the increase of latency you or other people are experiencing with the Samsung G7.
@@michaellitzner2818 so youre saying that the VVR control is turned on by default after the firmware update and you should turn it off to have lower input latency?
You forgot to mention the g7 supports DSC like the Acer model so 10 bit colours are supported at 240hz and also the vrr range on the g7 is 48hz to 240hz and the flicker problems have been fixed in the latest firmware update all the Alienware has to offer over the g7 is a gsync module that is not a deal breaker for many either as I don't tend to play games under 48fps in any scenario the motion clarity in gaming is way better on the g7 also if u want the color accuracy for work then I'd go for the Acer 1440p 270hz model over the Alienware
Eh I dunno, I didn’t include the Acer in this comparison because I don’t have it, this was just between the two I had on hand and I’ll probably cap monitor comparisons at two monitors. They take too long to make lol. And personally I never experienced flickering wth the G7 even when I made review and update videos with it back in July
@@no1l888 @levismith I think it depends on the graphics card I think only the RTX 2000 Series and 3000 Series is capable for DSC. However the ACER 270HZ is only overclockable to 270HZ and its native refresh rate is 240 and you can't get Freesync or gsync to 270HZ so that is a let down. Also even though HDR don't matter too much The alienware has HDR 600 vs The acers HDR 400. You are getting a higher refresh rate with the ACER but you lose all gsync/freesync and no HDR once you overclock it to 270HZ. ( not sure if you can enable both GSYNC and HDR at 240HZ with the acer either like you can do with the alienware.
Best monitor review I've seen. Most people go too in depth for the end-all/be-all monitor and seem "reserved" in their opinions as if they're afraid to piss the vendor off. You hit all the important points that gamer will care about. I mean obviously no one but a gamer would be searching for monitors that have a 200+ refresh rate under 4k resolution. There are WAY better options for cinematics and creators. Great review!
Thank you! I appreciate it, I try to throw *some* numbers and specifics in there, but to be honest, at the end of the day, that only gives you some of the necessary info. The realistic experience is always different than the specs😬
i mean its just a rich mans game/monitor...nobody can afford a single monitor solution and the G7 is priced exactly as such. Not to mention pushing various titles to 240 fps+ at QHD the kind of system specs you would need...I have no doubt that the g7 is an amazing monitor and color for games and amazing image uniformity at lower fps ranges/hz ranges far out performing varoius QHD monitors in regards to image uniformity at 80-130 fps compared to other "HIGH Refresh" qhd monitors..esp with OD enabled. Just I went with a 34" mi...for 400$ and had a 27" acer vgo270 165hz budget 1080p monitor b4 i replaced that with a 165hz qhd LG nano...and yeah the cost between the 34"+27" nano...was 800$ around the launch MSRP of the 32" g7...the G7 too aggressively curved to ideally support a multimonitor setup. And TBH im one of those ppl that like having streams up/raid guides/game guides etc open while gaming on fullscreen+windowed myself. So the g7 became a tough pass but i had to pass. IM sure the majority of ppl running g7 only have a single monitor or some cattawumpus desk setup. And IMO honestly the screen was too good...for that to be a tradeoff for me personally. And i outright passed on the alienware bc of its OD/image uniformity IN AAA titles or with a system yielding 100-120fps max in AAA titles as it is.
The alienware monitor is currently on sale and costs significantly less than the G7. I'm currently using the G7 and just have not enjoyed the curve so am thinking about selling it and switching to the alienware.
I bought the Alienware AW2721D last week for £559 (20% discount). It's fantastic. I upgraded from the awesome Dell S2721DGF 165Hz monitor. My previous Dell at 165Hz and set to Extreme response time produced no ghosting at all. The alienware however has very very noticeable ghosting at both the Super Fast and Extreme settings. On Fast the ghosting goes away. Today I read in the product manual that the response times are 3ms for Fast, 2ms for Super Fast and 1ms for Extreme. Super Fast and Extreme are unusable IMO. Quite disappointed as I've just come from an all round excellent monitor to this highly expensive monitor. I typically get 250FPS average on Apex Legends. I'd like to know if anyone has managed to get a good balance with the variance settings on this monitor. I'm also waiting on my Radeon 6800 XT to arrive, and since this monitor is G-Sync Ultimate, will the Radeon be able to take any advantage of G-Sync? I need to test with G-Sync off in case that helps the ghosting. Overall I'm pleased, but really disappointed that out of the box there is massive ghosting (Apex Legends running an RTX 3090, averaging 250+FPS). The ghosting really is unacceptable.
It's a fantastic monitor, I own it myself. It's got impressive response times and incredibly low input lag. Color accuracy is really very good so it's a monitor that is an all round great performer. The only time i will go and replace it is in the future for the Alienware AW2721D haha
I basically only play warzone I play with a i9 10900k 32gb and a ASUS 3090 strix and with this monitor is nothing but amazing worth every penny of $733
@@EclipsedWarrior Good to hear this as I was thinking on getting the Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240 Hz but changed my mind and ordered the AW2521H 1080p 360 Hz instead. I'm still waiting for the new monitor to arrive at my house. As my FPS in Warzone aren't good enough for 1440p gaming yet. I'm putting together a new system and going with the same specs as you except Asus 2080 Ti GPU. Wondering what FPS your getting in Warzone and what settings are you using? What memory did you go with as this is the hardest choice for me as I wanted to get the best FPS in Warzone? Do you find with the new monitor since it's 1440p you can spot enemies easier than playing at 1080p?
I was playing on 1080p with a 2080Ti before and I was getting 160-180 FPS on the ASUS 280HZ monitor and my warzone settings some are high some are medium not on ultra as I get 150FPS 160FPS
Having just bought the Samsung G7 using the local dimming set to on makes any backlight bleed gone and the blacks are really deep. Much nicer than a grey looking IPS with corner glow. The dimming feature on the IPS would stand out as worse as the native blacks are much worse. I wonder if the input lag is worse with the local dimming feature on, pity ypu didn't measure it compared to off on the Samsung. Like you said i can notice extra lag with g sync compat on and the response times are slower. I do as you said and use fastest mode and all syncs off, not noticed any tearing even when my fps is at say 90fps using a set 240hz. The curve is a non issue to me i hardly even notice now and it does at my viewing distance have a nice feel, plus it makes the VA viewing angles better.
6.7ms input lag for the G7?? Rtings, displayninja and PCM only recorded ~2ms of input lag with VRR off. The AW2721D usually was the same or higher input lag according to those reviewers.
yea this guy is complete needs to get hes shit up right he claims 1ms across hes two testing for aw omegalol thats not even posible to achive trust me g7 is better panel then aw
I live in Australia and I just bought the g7 because it was more accessible and cheaper. If I wanted the alienware I would have to get it shipped from America. Waiting for it and pretty excited
Wow, that Alienware Monitor is a thing of beauty. Unfortunately... both that and the G7 are not officially available in my country.. At least not from an authorized source with reliable warranty. I did find one reseller for the Alienware Monitor here.. but they are charging more than twice the MSRP.. at 1,765 USD.. with no real warranty >.>
From what I understand, using higher than the fast mode on the alienware causes masive overshoot , so best to stick at thw fast setting. I'm not sure how I would be with the G7 1000 curve, but no shops open to go and look (at least here in the UK). So as with most things, buying is on hold for me for now.
Just depends on which input lag is tolerable for you and what’s perceivable. But the super fast mode is pretty good while getting near the performance of extreme, without the insanely noticeable overshoot of extreme
Great video, this is gonna be a factor on my next monitor purchase. So I currently own a 32 inch Samsung chg70 and while it’s a great monitor that was ahead of its time it’s just too big and I need a 27 inch. I want either any of these 2 on the more expensive front and I’ve also been looking at the Msi mag quantum dot that just dropped a couple months ago
In Australia Dell have a sale with 35% off this monitor that runs till Feb 25th! Add a Honey discount also and I just got this beast cheaper than the G7 for just $868 AUD! Thats a $470 saving! works out to be $682 USD!
A very candid description of the monitors, and I'm getting back into gaming, do you also have recommendations on gaming computers, basically IL2 or DCS. Any info would be appreciated .
I had an AW2720HF, sold it for the G7 (which here in Brazil is, believe it or not, 50-100USD cheaper than the AW2720HF). The AW2721D is double the price of the G7 here, so it wasn't really hard to chose between the two, and I'm really happy with the upgrade! Color-wise the G7 is not as good, but very close, and the resolution, MBR and black levels make it totally worth the upgrade for me. Thanks you for the reviews, they helped me a lot
The input delay on Alienware compared to the G7 sold me on the Alienware, recently had a HP Omen X 27 and it's a great monitor for response times, however the Aggressive Matte Anti-Glare bugged the hell out of me, so sending that back, gonna test this Alienware out, will be my first IPS so I hope the IPS technology is as much as a step up from TN as everyone keeps boasting :D
@@TooMuchTech Heheh glad to hear it, what put me off going for any panel over TN for so long was the response times but man, IPS really has caught up quicktime just hope the IPS glow isn't too bad.
Still torn between the two, but the G7 Faker edition 27" is $599 and the Alienware on sale for $769. Buying one by the end of the day, hope I make the right choice lmao. Thanks for review on these two monitors.
Returning my G7 for the Alienware. I wfh and the auto port switching for the G7 is completely broken. The monitor also fails to wake up on its own. Forced me to turn it on and set the input EVERY time I turned my PC on. Such a small detail was a deal breaker
I could be, not saying everything I do is perfect, but I am just sharing some findings. I will say that both when properly optimized for speed, the Alienware is just a little bit more noticeably snappier.
the default about the gsync and time response is wrong with G7 32" version because the 32" does permit to have both gsync and vrr and is then a gsync ultimate as well as the alienware 27". That's the main difference betwen G7 27" and G7 32"
AW2721D is now $800, and has been since the beginning of this year. *Edit | AW2721DD is going for $749.99 as of November, and still currently in December 2021.
AW brighter, more accurate, less black smear, higher hdr / gamut range, 32 local dimming zones, working gsync, vrr range that works 1-240hz. True 10bit up to 144hz can use 12bit. AW all the way
Worse Image Quality due to Blacks, IPS-Glow, better HDR due to Contrast, no smear dont know what youre uo too, colours are even more vibrant due to contrast, higher gamut coverage
Hey Great Video! I have one Question.... I have the Samsung too and i got Stuttering in Destiny 2. Do u aso have Stuttering in the Game with the Monitor?
Snagged the Alienware monitor today:) I game a lot both on my ps5 and my pc so this will cover both. Great review on these two monitors you helped me make a decision.
Tft central has way different results than you my man regarding the g7 input lag and gtg response time! Its probably cause they're not using their phones to test the monitors 🙃
I just returned my G7 due to the flickering issue. It didn't happen very often but it was enough to be annoying. I tried all the fixes including new firmware, VRR on, vertical sync off, etc. Everything except downloading the CRU tool and messing with FPS caps. I felt I shouldn't have to do that for a monitor I paid $700 for. Going to try out the Alienware AW2721D next.
How was the Alienware in comparison? I’ve had my G7 flicker a few times, but it hasn’t done it in a while. Don’t know if I should keep trying my luck with though lol
I absolutely hate the curve. They should always release a curve and none curve option.

Samsung shouldn't have made the G7 with a damn aggressive curvature
I agree, in a single monitor set up its fine but in a multi monitor its very irritating
Ultimately: Buy which ever of these monitors suits your needs & your price point. You'll be happy with either purchase most likely. At the end of the day, if you love the product that you purchased, life is good!
What were the exact color settings etc you used for the G7
After using G7 for a couple of months, I’m happy I chose this over the AW. Colors are hard to beat, and when I have friends over the experience they get playing on it is jaw dropping

i like to buy new monitor. i have RTX 3060Ti and now i have one problem. what i must buy.. G7 32" or 27...
@@gutal85 27
no doubt...even when i fist saw it at microcenter back when it launched it was MOST Definitely the best looking/performing gaming monitor...but the price JFC....i literally bought a 27" nano ips...and a 34" VA mi monitor vs the cost of a 32" g7.
I bought the G7 available in the UK for just over £500... love it. I believe in alienware is over £900 here.
How has your experience been? Looking to get one for 500 on amazon but im worried about the flickering and colors
I was waiting for this. Thank you. I absolutely love my G7 but that AW has been tickling my interest lol gotta say the curve is EXTREMELY immersive.

I kind of assumed Dell wouldn’t keep that placeholder price for long, they typically never do, but it’s 100% worth it between 700-800 dollars!

Got the alienware last week and couldn't be happier
y ?
Got the Alienware for around $750, 100% worth it especially with their financing, got a free credit boost with on time payments for it. But it's amazing in games and have little to no complaints. Only thing I could complain about is the size of the legs, or small spots with panel edge glow because of the IPS panel.
I appreciate your review / comparison. I had both of these monitors sitting in my wishlist Amazon cart. After watching this video, Alienware is the monitor I’ve decided to go with.
Did you got it?
Dude you absolutely KILLED this video!! Extremely considering the Alienware right now.
Wish I would have seen this yesterday... Just bought a 32 inch G7. Either way I'm sure you can't go wrong with either.
I think you picked the best one. The 1000r curve on that 32" panel is bad ass. Jealous.
This really helped as ive been torn between the two. Ive been using a Dell gaming monitor and its been great but wanted to upgrade to 240hz
Which one did you pick?
Odyssey g7 in sync mode has adaptive overdrive same as the gsync ultimate in the Alienware, but without Nvidias official board and its various modes are turned off because of this. And in this mode it is also the most consistent of the 2 in terms of overshoot all the way through the refresh range. Update the monitor's firmware and enjoy. u should look into these things when you do comparison reviews
Maybe you missed the part in the video when I was talking about the G sync compatibility and the low input lag mode you can’t have it enabled at the same time, so it’s not nearly as versatile as the Alienware you can just turn it on and leave it on
Uhm.. If i see Rtings response times on the G7 are only 2.0ms. Input lag is only 3.1ms. I dont think youre numbers are accurate...@@samuellarson8221

@@PrinceVegeta-ep8sr it’s like $725 right now
I agree that the Alienware is easily the better piece of kit.

Thank you so very much for the video man. You've helped me make a decision on the two monitors with this video. So far you're the best review channel that I've come across that really goes heavily into detail about how the monitors perform and their numerical stats. You really do a great job.
Hello you take Alienware ?
Great breakdown. Thank you! Really helped me in my search for a monitor!
I just ordered the Samsung g7 32 inch monitor, can't wait to received it, seen soo many good reviews
I still wish there was a comparison between that 38" Dell and the New LG 38" (38GN950)
Why? It's the same panel.
@@TooMuchTech ive never experience flickering either or stuttering and it dosnt even have a module?
You can't put 10bits at 240hz, it's limited to 144hz on the G7, i just tried it doesn't work.
@@no1l888 you have to have a higher end video card, Nvida for example 20-30 series and ensure in the settings you are on DP 1.4(DSC).
I ordered the Samsung recently but I've been having my doubts on its speed. Thanks for the great review!
Just ordered the Alienware thanks!!!!
How is it
Best monitor review I've seen.

Had both, went AW because the curve made office work worse. AW has been great overall.
Is this model of Alienware is the best monitor in the market so far ? or there’s better than that ?
It's surprisingly rare to watch a tech reviewer that can actually aim
Honestly, I would swap the panel and see if it was luck of the draw or not

Having just bought the Samsung G7 using the local dimming set to on makes any backlight bleed gone and the blacks are really deep. Much nicer than a grey looking IPS with corner glow. The dimming feature on the IPS would stand out as worse as the native blacks are much worse. I wonder if the input lag is worse with the local dimming feature on, pity ypu didn't measure it compared to off on the Samsung. Like you said i can notice extra lag with g sync compat on and the response times are slower. From what I understand, using higher than the fast mode on the alienware causes masive overshoot , so best to stick at thw fast setting. I'm not sure how I would be with the G7 1000 curve, but no shops open to go and look (at least here in the UK). So as with most things, buying is on hold for me for now.

I agree! The color is close to IPS but not quite there, but they’re still vibrant enough and the deeper black levels make up for it!
Thank you for the input lag numbers everyone else is missing, but I was really hoping to see HDR side by side
The HDR between both of them is pretty lackluster to be honest, and on camera it wouldn’t be an accurate representation anyway 🤯

the default about the gsync and time response is wrong with G7 32" version because the 32" does permit to have both gsync and vrr and is then a gsync ultimate as well as the alienware 27". That's the main difference betwen G7 27" and G7 32"
Both have issues that I hope will be fixed in future releases. Good review!
Great vid. Where did you find that wallpaper?
Wallpaper please
AW2721D is now $800, and has been since the beginning of this year.
*Edit | AW2721DD is going for $749.99 as of November, and still currently in December 2021.
Great video, thanks for helping me with my decision.
Nice review... I'd def go with the alienware even though i went for a 6800xt. Kinda waiting for the new acer maybe.
Also loved the D2 gameplay!
AW brighter, more accurate, less black smear, higher hdr / gamut range, 32 local dimming zones, working gsync, vrr range that works 1-240hz. True 10bit up to 144hz can use 12bit. AW all the way
The AW def is better. But honestly the HDR is passable on both lol, I keep them both off, the local dimming on either just doesn’t do it fir me
Doesnt the g7 have true 10bit up to 240hz? Lol

Glad to help!
does it works with xbox series x
Does this monitor work 1080p 120hz on ps5 ? I heard it’s locked at 60hz for ps5.
@@unknowncruz9402 I’m getting 120hz on Cold War on ps5
@@CaptObv1 Great, mine arrives Wednesday. Thank you
Tft central has way different results than you my man regarding the g7 input lag and gtg response time! Its probably cause they're not using their phones to test the monitors 🙃
It's probably the settings that are "wrong" here. Think everyone else was indeed testing VRR mode (freesync) at max refresh rate.
I agree, that’s insane. I don’t know if I got a 1 of 1 unit or what because I’ve never experienced that flickering issue!
How was the Alienware in comparison? I’ve had my G7 flicker a few times, but it hasn’t done it in a while. Don’t know if I should keep trying my luck with though lol
@@alexvswrld Alienware has been great for me.
