Optimized game. Thank you
@@phock3806 that's about it, and maybe connection (you connected over DP?) Shouldn't be horrible though.
@@TotallydubbedHD yes sir. I actually notice a pretty good difference setting that OD to super fast! Do you recommend using the gsync feature ? Every settings video I’ve watched for WZ PC says to leave it off .. thanks for the quick reply man!
Very informative, thank you for this. This was the video that sold me on the monitor.
Pleasure buddy, glad you found the video useful :)
Thanks for this great detailed review, mine is arriving tomorrow. What settings do you use for Gsync, etc to get such a smooth experience when going over the refresh rate of the monitor? I've really enjoyed my Asus 280Hz monitor but I wanted a 1440p 240Hz monitor for shooters to go with my single player AW3418DW. Thanks again for all of the detailed information!
Glad you liked the review - settings will have been shared in the video, suggest looking again - not much more to add!

Definitely an upgrade! It's not the colours etc, it's more the responsiveness will beat your aforementioned monitors.

Hello
Really nice review, i saw some of your reviews, i was in doubt on this one, the g7 and the aorus fi27q-x. personally, this was always my favorite, but i thought it didn't support freesync.
Im a noob when it comes to specs, so please tell me what would be your pick if you were in my situation.
I have an 6900xt and an i9 10900k and im looking for a 1440p 240hz 1ms. I do play a lot of fps, specially warzone, i do give preference for performance, but i also like to get the best overall quality possible.
Would AW2721d be your pick or would you go for another monitor?
The only thing i need to use to have the freesync compatibility is the display port? or should i get the 2721dgf?
Thank you
Glad you liked the review; indeed this would be my pick if you don't need to play on consoles, you're a hardcore gamer, and can run 1440p at 240hz consistently - you'll have to look up your GPU performance to see if it's suitable.
From one Yanick to another, how's the experience with it so far?
i am thinking of buying it too. how did it go for you
Hi thank you very much for the great review I knew this monitor was special but I am gl;ad to confirm that that is indeed the case! :)
Pleasure bud, glad you liked my review :)
@@TotallydubbedHD You are welcome no worries! Oh also regarding that Eizo monitor that you have suggested me to contact them about the contrast they got back to me and it seems the contrast adjust itself automatically as you adjust the brightness of the screen something along those lines as far as I was able to understand
@@LightBreaker1750 ah brilliant, thanks for letting me know!
@@TotallydubbedHD You are welcome! :)
Thank you. You FINALLY said it!!! You don't see too much difference between 144hz and 240hz. But some people want the extra frames. Much better to say that than your original "It makes no difference".
Glad you liked the comment :)
Hello. Im currently on an LG 27GN750-B but I’m having trouble with visibility in game in different FPS that I play. I just started looking into this monitor but was planning originally on settling for the Samsung g7 for the extra size. Both are an upgrade for resolution which I assume will also help. Only things that kinda put me off with the g7 is the LED display and the curved screen. If you were buying one of these 2 monitors solely for the purpose of increasing visibility I game which would you suggest? The video was great btw.
Thanks! I'd get the AW as it doesn't have a curve, might be better for your eyes to get used to.
I have this coming next week. So happy
Enjoy!
How do you like it? I found it on sale at amazon for 714
@@BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree amazing deal. For that money. I would definitely get it. Its a great monitor and still does well.
@@flipzmadmax5494 Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll go ahead and place this order!
@@BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTree it's a great screen. When you get it make sure to calibrate it right away in the monitor settings and change the hz to 240. I think by default it's 120 I'm not too sure. I just know with monitors you have to set them up first.
Hey totally dubbed. Thanks for this review. I just purchased a 34” ultrawide s3422dwg. It’s a budget monitor but I’m primarily using it work for productivity. It’s classified as a budget gaming monitor with 144hz but 5ms as highest extreme settings makes it unusable. I really only play csgo for gaming. How much of a difference will there be between those specs and this which is 240hz 1-2ms? Reason I ask is because I’m considering adding another 27” in vertical mode for more productivity. And in my spare time I can make that the main gaming monitor.
I really wouldn't rely on marketing figures; and as I've not tried your Dell, I can't tell you if it'll be better or worse in terms of response time or input lag. But what I can say, as per my video, is that this AW is one of the best around.
Can you do a review of the AORUS FI32Q and maybe compare it with this monitor? Right now I'm choosing between these two and they are in the same price range.
I'll be getting the FI27Q-X in at some point, which is its smaller sibling. Review will probably be at the end of June :)
Nice review! I recently bought an Alienware AW2521H and it's very good. I'm a casual gamer and also use it for multimedia and photo editing. I bought it from Dell direct for $480 USD. Before that I was using the very popular Asus VG248QE for many years.
Thanks! Why did you buy that monitor out of interest, as when I reviewed it, I found it pretty poor for its asking price and performance. No comparison to this AW monitor, however.
@@TotallydubbedHD Well I bought the monitor for occasional gaming, its aesthetics, and general use such as internet and photo editing. Well I don't really care about 360Hz I just wanted to have a good IPS monitor. And from reading about it from RTINGS and other websites, I thought it would be a good do it all monitor. Buying a 27" monitor like yours is out of the question because I don't really have the space for that size. And after using a TN panel for many years I wanted to try an IPS.
@@carmine619 fair enough, thanks for sharing.

Hey thanks for the review. Right now im having issues. For me, im someone who always play casual and competetives fps gaming. Should i go for alienware AW21D or acer predator xb273ugx? They both got same specs.
Not tried the Acer, so can't comment but would recommend this.
Thanks for the review. Is this monitor good for single player, non-competitive gaming? I play multiplayer, but 80% of my time is spent playing single player games.
Pleasure; well I don't know why you'd spend more money on getting a 240hz monitor, when you would be more than satisfied with a 144hz panel instead :)
I'd only get 240hz, if you're a hardcore competitive gamer.
Appreciate the video mate. Quick question, would you get this over the Samsung g7? I play competitive fps games and want to jump to 1440p. Thanks in advance.
Surely you must have not watched the video?! There were many comparisons in this video of the two - you'll need to make the decision.
@@TotallydubbedHD yea I've watched it like three times haha. I'm just a worrier and are in the market for a 1440p 240hz monitor so I was just wanting to make the right decision. I'm a competitive warzone player and a few top players have this monitor but then I've seen a few reviews saying the G7 has slightly lower input lag and was wondering if you thought this was viable or if you would still get the alien ware.
@@oli4330 I personally prefer the AW :)
Ok great much appreciated. Did you say you were or are a competitive cs player too?
@@oli4330 yes lol
Nice review - but which one would you pick for competitive gaming - the Alienware for 650 quids or the G7 for 450 Quids? The Alienware is also sold out in Europe, the sales rep said it will be available in 2-3 months from now which is crazy imo.
For that price difference, I'd just pick the Samsung. But my personal pick would be the AW

Bought it a few weeks ago. Monitors are generally more expensive where I live but I got it on sale ($716 instead of $843) and so far I'm very impressed. The no true sRGB mode wasn't my main concern anyway and for competetive gaming it's perfect so far. Got a great panel too. No dead pixels, only backlight bleed at a small point in bottom left corner, but you never see that anyways.
Thanks for the review that convinced me! I'm happy with it

Do you use g sync on yours?I have hard time having g sync on. Strangely I notice much more inputlag having it on versus having it off.
I always disable G-Sync generally speaking, as I prefer uncapped frames. I have read in the past where even with G-Sync it is adding a very slight amount of input lag; not sure if it's placebo now, but I always disable it as a result. If you notice it a lot, might it be that you're enabling V-Sync instead (that adds a ton of input lag!)
@@TotallydubbedHD Nope I tried couple diff settings that battle nonsense put out on his channel and all feel shit. Worse part is if I enable it for some games it’s stuck even when I disable it. Only thing that fix it after is too reinstall the drivers. So I don’t use it at all, it’s shame when you pay so much for the functionality that doesn’t work for some ppl.
Hi, I am using the AW2521HF (u reviewed it 4 months ago, looks similar as this AW27 model) now, everything is great but it is lack of HDR support :( . So I am looking for a HDR monitor to play 3A titles like 2077, do you think the HDR function will make a great difference for playing these HDR enabled games? If so is it worth to buy a new monitor just for the HDR function? My budget is £500-600 max so I am wondering should I get this one or the Samsung G7, or if you have any suggestions please tell me thanks :D
I wasn't impressed with that model, was actually pretty poor when it comes to comp gaming - but this panel is a different beast.
If you have the ability to enable HDR (in certain games like Destiny 2 for example), HDR600 will definitely make a positive impact. However, HDR400 or 'HDR certified' is utterly useless, thankfully this AW and the G7 aren't gimmicking HDR, they actually provide a great HDR experience given their HDR600 capabilities.
I wouldn't buy it JUST for its HDR functionalities (although it will be a step up), the thing however I would buy either the G7 or AW is for their gaming capabilities, and put simply they put your AW monitor to complete shame. I'd suggest one or the other - check both my reviews to get a good feel as to what's best for you :)
HDR on this monitor is shit tbh. There is so much clouding in dark parts in games that it’s horrible.
Heya. Great Vid. I have the same desk and Im wondering if 2 of these could fit side by side on the Freddee.
Might do with no speakers, check dimensions! Glad you liked the video
@@TotallydubbedHD thanks and ya no speakers there. It’s either these 2 or take a chance on the qd OLED. Just don’t like burn in risk, plus not sure my 3080ti will push 175 fps in games with ultra settings.
Deciding between this and the Odyssey G7. I do game frequently but also like to use it for other things as well.
Hope the review helps!
I'm still debating if I should get this after seeing your recent reviews on other monitors. I'm a competitive player on the console/XSX.
Would definitely still recommend this if you're in the market for a 240hz 1440p. For me it's between this and the Samsung, and that's for you to decide which to pick based on the pros/cons of each :)
i dont think you can reach 240fps on consoles so IMO this would be kinda wasted, as you can easily get 144hz 1440p IPS monitors for much cheaper
@@StarmanDX well said, missed the console part!
Which screen do you recommend for editing and games between them?
If you're not a hardcore FPS player, something like the Acer Nitro VG270UP/VG271UP

I would avoid the Acer XB273U GX. While it's a great panel on paper, it suffers from serious overshoot problems when using G-Sync as Acer locks the overdrive settings when enabled. I get where you're coming from, but that doesn't make much sense. See the monitor as a bottleneck of a wine bottle, and your GPU as the wine/liquid. Let all the liquid flow (fps), but limit the amount fo water going through the bottleneck (ie, reduce the GPU settings in-game if needed, or in an extreme scenario the resolution - as you said), but let the stream flow without squeezing the bottleneck even tighter.
And tbh you'll be fine with an RTX 3070!

Shudder or tearing? RX580 should be fine, namely with AMD FreeSync. If it's shuddering, it might be worth asking on forums - but that would suggest there's a rendering problem (thus a faulty card/cable). Hard to say.
Should I get this or wait for the ASUS PG279QM?
The alienware design for the stand turns me off but I love the borderless screen design. And it’s the opposite for the ASUS I hate the bottom bezel.
Cannot give you that info, as I've not tried the Asus.
IM curiuous about this too
Yeh I just brought one to for Xbox series x. You can get 4k monitors now with hdmi 2.1 which will allow you to game at 4k on 120fps but the over priced and still seem they need work.I cant really tell a massive difference with 1440p to 4k but I can with 1080p to 1440p at 120fps and wanted a monitor that would be have the ability to go higher in the future as tech evolves so the 240hz is great.has to be said you can only reach 240hz for this through display point
Indeed, it has HDMI 2.0, with no 4K signal input; still gives you 1440p @120hz on Xbox!
And agreed for the 1080p to 1440p comment.
What are your settings for brightness and contrast, also do you use HDR while playing?
Suggest checking the video!
So if the cost isn’t an issue what is everyone’s opinion this Alienware monitor or the g7? I mainly play call of duty and will be playing the new battlefield when it comes out. Thanks
I'd pick this one
So when it comes to the framerate, does the alienware makes a big a difference? And how much more fps than the g7?
No difference, both are identical in that domain
@@TotallydubbedHD did you notice any stutter, flickering or ghosting with the g7?
@@mohammedxgh none on either
I suffer eye strain constantly. Curious if you know what gaming monitor would work? Thanks
Hard to say, maybe one that has PWM flicker-free technology (look it up)?
IM thinking about aw and Odyssey but im still not sure but im close to choose odyssey what yall thinking
I'm thinking you should watch the video.
I’ve got a dog swift PG279Q, tempted to get the Alienware but I doubt I will notice much difference, I also want to keep the target option the PG279Q has, does anyone know if the Alienware has this? It’s a HUD which gives you a crosshair target on the screen with the push of a button. Love having it in certain games, can’t live without it now.
Check the OSD section of this video regarding the crosshair
What would you personally get for your personal use. G7 or AW2721D ?

got mine today upgraded from a Dell S2716DG!
Very nice, enjoy!
Hi, i bought AW2721D 2 months ago. After about a hour I noticed that color temperature on AW2721D a little bit change. Right after turning on, the white color is greyish (warm), but after a hour white screen is cool and colors become more saturated. It seems to me to, that screen brightness is a little bit higher after hour. I use factory preset mode Sport/Variable backlight Mode - 0. It is normal or something is wrong with my AW2721D? The differences are not big, but they are noticeable.
That doesn't sound right to me, maybe contact AW tech support
Will this pair up good with a 3070 & 5800x? And will I notice a difference upgrading from a dell 1440p 165hz? I play warzone.
1. Yes.
2. Suggest watching my video that compares 60/144/240hz monitors (in the description) and make your own mind up about 240Hz; I wouldn't personally upgrade given you only play Warzone.
Great video! BUT Lol the Samsung G7 is a certified beast! Plus I ordered it for only $499... At that price it's untouchable. I do love IPS screen on the Alienware monitor, I ordered this one from Amazon but returned it a few days later. The G7 works really well with the RX 6900XT.
Fair enough, enjoy buddy!
Too bad the curve is way too aggressive on the g7 i bought one and didn't like the curve on it ended up giving it away lol
@@SenSnpz I agree 💯. I'm not a big fan of the curve either, if it didn't perform so well, I would have returned it for something else. Performance out weights the curve in my book.
@@MrEdwardz00 Glad you like it the perfomance is definitely top tier but the curve is a no for me lol if they make it non curved one day I'll definitely buy it again
hi can i ask which one you thought looked better visually? I game competitively, but i also want my games to look good when im not playing a competitive game lol. this is a tough choice between the two for me
Can anyone tell me the dimensios of the base plz? I dont know if it can fit in my desktop
Out of context question. But Can i change refresh rate to any number? Or specific numbers?
Technically you should be able to via custom software.
I have a query…can we use this monitor in full hd during fames so that it can easily maintain 240hz? Keeping all things same will lowering the reaolution will effect input lag, response time , etc?
From memory you can, but I wouldn't suggest doing that, rather, lower your graphics settings in game. If you think you'll struggle to output 1440p, then either look to upgrade your GPU or buy a 1080p monitor.
So this over the G7? What about AMD Freesync? How do you use freesync with this monitor?
Up to you to make the decision, if you watched the video.
As for FreeSync, I've also referenced it.
I stand between this one or the odyssey g7 but I don’t know! Which one should you buy?
Did you watch the video?
Aw2721d or G7 or zowie xl2546 ? Which is more best and more better for competitive gaming please?
This or the G7 imo
If you mainly play csgo the xl2546 is a better choice. But the difference is just so little that probably wouldn't impact your results.

I didnt quite understand, you said it didn't pair well with the ps5, but with the xbox it would?
Also is the price difference between the alienware and g7 worth it if I'm going to be gaming on an xbox?

Sorry if this doesn’t make sense lol
That's just for consoles buddy, but you'll have to be mindful of the ports from and to your laptop for 1440p at 240hz - do you have a displayport output (via GPU) on your laptop? More info on ports: ruclips.net/video/daHrqIFieBU/видео.html

I was curious, what is the point of gsync at 240hz if you can only run ~100fps on max setting on some games. does gsync even work at that fps?
Good question, asked Adam from PC Monitors to be sure; but yes, even at 100fps, thus under the max refresh rate of this monitor (240Hz), you'll still see the benefits of G-Sync (due to good VRR range - thanks to the built-in Nvidia module).
You'll still get tearing to some degree (just less so) on lower fps/hz (ie 100fps). In some games, it'll be noticeable, while in others, like CSGO, it'll be indistinguishable, at least imo.
Hope that answers the question?
