After some advice and apologies in advance, I am thick so this tech stuff goes over my head a bit so please dumb down answers and make them as plain as possible!! I have a Razerblade 14 laptop. It has a AMD Ryzen 9, 5900 with a Geforce 3070. No idea what any of that really means, but I want a gaming monitor to play fast FPS games like the new COD on. I like this one, but I am concerned that it won't work properly (or certainly to its full potential) due to not having a proper display port (deduced on my reading from reviews etc). Can someone tell me in short, whether this monitor would work to its full potential if it was connected by a USB C or normal USB port? I feel like the answer may be no and therefore it not be worth buying as People keep saying something about a thunder port which my laptop sadly does not have. I am massively confused and out of my depth with all this stuff so if someone could clarify I would be massively grateful as my reading and video watching only seems to confuse me further. Its all like another language.🤣

It depends on what you need honestly. I've owned both. The G7 is very nice and if contrast is important to you that would be the better option. If extremely vibrant colors and better viewing angles are what you want, get the Alienware.
I absolutely love Alienware's monitors--although their laptops are highly "visibly pleasing" but don't last very long as I've found out the hard way--but I just absolutely hate the Lunar Light theme... I got the 32in g7 instead for $484 (tax included) due to a Black Friday sale along with a couple other discounts from Samsung. I felt like I cheated the system lol. It is bigger, has better contrast, and is curved which I like too.
Unfortunately that monitor has garbage quality control. I don't want to get a G7 out of fear that, although the specs are great and the 1000R curve is nice, I don't want to have a chance of having a dud and having to be inconvenienced and send it back.
Does anyone know that Dell have maybe updated overdrive settings? Hardware Unboxed and RTINGS measured overshoot error up to 40%.
No update whatsoever since I got it (around May)
i bought mine as an upgrade to my asus predator xb271hu but the predator has better colors. Especially dark areas are more black on the predator. On the aw2721d black areas are more redish. and less of those bright areas on the predator
review the lg 27gl850-b
Lenovo G27-20 Review this monitor please 🙏
this or Asus ROG Swift PG279QM?
I have this monitor its not good for 1ms competitive gaming go with Asus that's the best one for competitive gaming and 1ms if u go fast mode on this monitor its 4 ms or something I think
@@adamotak5145 well, i don't play competitive titles...i am more into games like Witcher, Resident Evil, Dead space some RTS Strategies, Efootball. The AW2721d looks pretty good monitor for these?
@@ALEX86ZILBER I play those games too it looks/works fantastic that's why I went to the 1440p route and this monitor instead of the 360Ghz full HD ones. it works for every use case from browsing/watching to video editing and gaming, it's white and my gaming setup is white too. also, it has the same rating on the ratings website if you google it.
@@adamotak5145 do you know about some different issues of this monitor? can I buy it and not deal with production bugs in colors or other staff?
Would u recommend this or the Samsung G7?
It depends on what you need honestly. I've owned both. The G7 is very nice and if contrast is important to you that would be the better option. If extremely vibrant colors and better viewing angles are what you want, get the Alienware.
@@pk.002 I ended up getting the 1080 240hz version of this for 250 bucks lol and I have the msi mag274qrf-qd as a secondary monitor
@@itsKroci I've been thinking about getting the 240hz 1080p version of that monitor, how is it?
@@pk.002 sorry for the late reply it is actually very good 👍🏼
@@pk.002 I just ordered the G7, but I’m also considering this one (AW2721D). What did you like better about the Alienware?
put your mic a little bit away and reduce bass , good content
How does this monitor stack against the Razer Raptor 165hz?
Blows it out of the water
Experiencing some severe ghosting with this monitor and I have it set on fast
the ambient light sensor doesnt really work.
I absolutely love Alienware's monitors--although their laptops are highly "visibly pleasing" but don't last very long as I've found out the hard way--but I just absolutely hate the Lunar Light theme... White peripherals aren't my thing, so I went with 2 AW2521HF's instead... 25 inches isn't bad, but I'd much prefer this or even the 32inch Curved Alienware Monitors, except it's in only in white... Just... why can't there be a Dark Side of the Moon option..?
Will this work well with a PS5?
I just ordered this but I have series X is it still good for that?
If u only have a series X and not a PC this monitor is a totally overkill for the Xbox. There are more cheaper options to go with and the have also a good picture quality. Like the Mobiuz from BENQ.
Overkill for Xbox
@@fahimishungry5865 I cancelled it and ordered the Dell S2721DGF
@@IamMxfia Hi so you say this is overkill for the series x however if I can get this for the same price as the Mobiuz on a deal would you recommend
@@magz9816 If u get it for the same price then yeah, buy this one. But i never saw this monitor drop down on price this crazy
I own it. I am glad owner of it.
please do a review of acer nitro xv242y p
Have you ever thought about joining the Monitor Enthusiasts discord server? We could give you plenty of feedback and you could also get an insight on what we would enjoy to get reviewed (tho thats of course up to you and your audience's general opinion).
hmmm
Already there, but undercover...
@@techlessYT but but, if you come forward you'll get the special brand rep role...
is it invite only? I built my pc a couple days ago but am running a 6 year old monitor. Trying to get as much insight on the monitor market.
@Frog & xm3: I'm not Stilgar lol
Isn't Shroud merely sponsored by Alienware and thats why he uses it?
Last time I checked he was very tech un-savy
Not sure about sponsoring, but he surely didn't pay a cent for his monitors lol
i have the same ! Awesome ! ;)
Nice "review" but ... what about the OSD, you just talk about the latency aspect but all the rest
please always include some csgo on the gaming side my dude , its the gam the most use of more hz or better panel
Lol and here in south america i have to pay 800usd for a 400usd monitor with 144hz on 1440p
I got it for $290 and for my first monitor
where’d you get this for $290?
@@TheAdrenalineSkating Amazon
Wtf would you drop the brightness to 25?!?
I even set the brightness to 0 at night. 140 nits are pretty good for moderately bright rooms.
It's very bright by default. 25% is indeed quite ok
im not sure if there is something wrong with my monitor. But I think out of the box the brigthess is very dim.
