    Hi Friends Welcome to Viktors Reality:
    today I give you my Opinion so far on how awesome these 2 monitors are. You can't go wrongveith either.. Trust me you can't lose if you decide one over the other for your gaming needs for PC or Playstation 5 or XBOX Series X/S. Basically it comes down to 4k120hz and 1000R Curve Vs Flat. Also, the biggest factor is Brightness. If you need or prefer it then the VA G7 32" is more immersive and Brighter. Everything else being preference per technology.

    I’ve had the G7 32” now for 3 weeks, and thus far it’s been a great experience. The added contrast in comparison to my 32GP83B was immediately noticeable from the first time I turned it on. For me the higher contrast makes the image look sharper, because there is better detail in dark areas. With that said, IPS is still a great experience once you have your settings dialed in, and I don’t think you can go wrong with either one of these monitors.

    I own both, the 32" is brighter, but if your not in a bright lit room, it's not an issue. The 4k looks better than 1440p for sure, the 4k is amazingly tighter edges on everything that the 1440p is....using a 5900x and 3080 my lower settings on 4k look better than the ultra settings on the 32" G7...I can adjust my 4k to give me max 144hz refresh rates and the lower settings still look amazing...and to be honest, the 32" is too big for gaming, you have to sit way back to not see the pixels and unsmooth edges that 1440p shows...if you want a high quality looking game I suggest the 4k...the 28" is a really nice size tbh....

    I got a va g7 for 550, the price was tempting. Was disappointed by the curve, thinking to give it back. But after using it I now appreciate its image quality and smothness, the deep blacks and white dimming. It has a bit of backlighting, nothing serious but noticeble in space games. Despite this, on other games it is amazing

I bought the G5 32 " 165hz 1440 monitor and returned it due to the graphics were noticeably worse than my old 28 inch plus the curve and and the size (32)was too big for playing shooters. I like to be fairly close and the monitor was too big.

So i deciced to Go to 4K because i dont wanna See pixels anymore and my 6900xt is in Most Games Strong enough to Go Over 100 fps. So bought the g70a and what can i say? The Micro stutters are complete gone and it runs butter smooth with just 144 hz. I love the colors and the black and NOW i know that i'm a ips type and Not an va type. I have both a 27" G7 and the G70A. I'd take the G70A any day if you have a 3080 or greater. HDR on both monitors suck ass and isn't real so that isn't even worth bothering with. The IPS feels smoother and doesn't need VRR control which causes micro stutters and no pixel inversion problems. If you have a 3070Ti or lower get the G7. But if you have a 3080 (or planning to) get the G70A and then wait till micro led is cheaper in a few years time. Crisp and smooth and way better than 1440p at any refresh rate for me. I do miss the curve though, but my wife likes it now she has stolen my G7 lol. Both good monitors but the G7 annoyed me with its various flaws and back light bleed. Fortunately my G7A has no back light bleed and basically no IPS glow which shocked me and probably isn't common. PS the G7 isn't 95% DCI-P3, I struggle to see the point of this video when all you do is rip off other people who have reviewed these displays, you should have your own tests and data. I'm only sharing my opinion to help people and save them watching this Rtings copy pasta.

      @DisplayReality  2 года назад +1

      G7 32" is better. Brighter, deeper contrast, true VA picture depth. 1440p120hz still looks great vs 4k120hz on Xbox. But PC 240hz is great...movies look very good. The curve you will get used to in a day or so...

  • @phat-Rat
    @phat-Rat 2 года назад +2

    Look, IPS is great. But this guy is absolutely right, you will never understand what he means by the "3 dimensional" talking point unless you see it for yourself. Recently just got the g7, and wow does this thing make IPS look really washed out. The contrast will make you see games in an entirely new perspective. And the curve is not that aggressive. If you have the money, seriously, buy it... there is no ghosting or smearing or anything on this thing. I think it's safe to say there's finally a reason to buy a VA panel. There's a lot of talk about poor quality control so your experience might differ from mine. I got lucky in the panel lottery. Absolutely nothing wrong with mine. Btw I got the 27 inch.

    • @DisplayReality

      HDR is better on the LG. Have you tried adjusting in game hdr settings. Also try hdmi full for the added contrast. Have you tried all hdr prestes? The LG has bad local dimming algorithm vs everyone else. But I would not say the g70a I better its just different. But at 899 there now will be alot of competition very soon. The 27u from hp omen looms great for 4k120hz albeit at hdr400 at 699. The LG is priced good for that added brightness. The BenQ ex3210u is 1099 and seems to be the same in features... but thats 32" so 200 more? You can't go wrong friend its more about brightness. The g70a is less washed than the lg but lower in brightness too.

It's super close but by Quality I mean by depth in the picture with fuller color plus VA natrual tech contrast might fool many into thinking it's the same. I have an RTX 2080 (Non-Super or Ti).
    Is this enough to run the G70A until I upgrade my GPU and possibly PC late next year?
    Or should I go for a 1440P with 240 Hz?
    I know a lot of people say go with a 4K panel and drop the resolution.
    If I do that, will the overall quality of the picture diminish substantially?
    Some say it blurs it down a bit, but I have no way to test this with hardware and my eyes.

      With qhd You are reasonably locked to QHD or 720p, because it doesn't scale well with nothing else. With UHD You can have lossless scaling down 4:1 to FHD. QHD scaling to FHD will be lossy, and no UHD possibility. So You need to stick to QHD with QHD display. If You can play any game on Ultra with 1440p on Your GPU than there is no problem. But Your monitor will require replacement with Your next GPU for sure to see a difference.

    I have learnt about black equalizer in gaming is important. I noticed the ips on left has better black equalizer than the right somehow and does not clip the black too much. It looks like it does better job than lousy LG 32GP850 that can't do black equalizer well and looks hazy with no contrast. That makes me think about that Samsung has better competition in gaming screen especially black equalizer for gaming is a real advantage especially for minecraft with dark cave to be able to see better and in the doom game like FPS. The new G70B is very promising to me so thats interesting.

I’ve been debating this forever and honestly still can’t decide.

    • @kalemeon7

      Same... the struggle is real. I had 3 monitors for a few days for tests (LG 32GP850-B 32''), (Samsung G7 LC32G75TQSRXEN 32"), and (MSI MAG274QRF-QD 27").
      Mind you, I'm coming from a 10yo VA full HD 60Hz panel, so each of the monitors were a huge upgrade, HOWEVER...
      The colours of the LG monitor seemed washed out, even with black correction, so I returned it.
      Samsung G7 32'' on the other hand was a huge surprise. Before I even experienced it, I thought I would immediately hate the curve, but I really didn't mind it! It was very immersive, the blacks were amazing, the response times and colours are just soooo much better than the LG panel.
      Games and movies on that monitor are just an amazing experience.
      The concern for this monitor was, as you said - the pixel density. I could see that the pixels were actually a bit noticeable.
      And since I would use this monitor also for office work, I just cannot be sure that after a prolonged use (more than the 2 days I had to test it) some eye strain would appear... I also wasn't sure if the curvature was the right choice for office work...
      So I decided to try the 27'' MSI flat panel, and I can already see that the pixel density is much better, and I think for me - 2K 27'' is the way to go, although I admit - I would love to have a bigger screen... However, I just cannot afford a 4K 32'' monitor at the moment.
      MSI has great colours, very good response times, but the blacks are just meh, even comparing to my 10yo VA panel next to it, and the IPS glow is really bothering me. Oh, and also the white-glowing power button that I don't seem to be able to turn off :)
      I think I will still check the Samsung G7 27''... I only wish they made the same panel, but flat... Then it would be 10/10 screen for me, I think :)
      I will add that my colleague has the 2K 32'' G7, but he doesn't use it for work, so if you will mainly use it for entertainment, you could go with the bigger screen. Many online shops have some kind of return policy, so perhaps you can try it for yourself, that's what I do :)

      I just double checked some BF 2042 gameplay on a 1080p gpu gtx 1080 at 1440p high. It was hitting around 60fps. If you lower settings it would be better. Even if you only play BF you would get the immersion of the 1000r and VA contrast but not taking full advantage of 240hz as your gpu is limiting you. Still on a browsing and other less demanding games level you would see a better impact of the G7 and what it can do.

      It's tough... 32" is the perfect 4k size. Both being very comparable honestly. It's mostly down to how it looks... I'm making more m28u vs g70a videos to help your decision making.

      I haven't really messed around with the settings on warzone. But I will soon. But so far I prefer custom, black equalizer at 11 or 13, brightness 100, contrast 90, Local Dimming On (I like the look on certain scenes) Sharpness 60 color on its default.

My PC has No space so I can't delete files to make room for new until I finish editing old videos I have already started. I didn't expect that drive space issue. Plus the Holidays is taking up alot of my time. I need to buy more space so I need to see how I will get it.

      My G7 32" has a red push. So maybe the G70A is redder? I tried to get them as close as possible but you can adjust color saturation or red or blue Push in the menu on both. My G7 was on normal cor while the G70A has to be on cool1 to get as close as possible.

      Keep your G7 friend. Upgrade to the Neo G8 if you need something new. The G7 beats the G70A in everything other than VA smear if you see any but even so its very minimal. G7 still is better than the G70A in my opinion...

    • @niekvanderkam
      @niekvanderkam 2 года назад

      @@shawnydee_ hi Shawn, to answer your question: downscale 4K to 1440p appears to be sharper than native 1440p (according to numerous credible sources). Native 4K takes the cake all day, the difference isn’t huge in my experience but it’s very noticeable nonetheless
      Question for you: you use the curved G7 with ps5 right? When you play 60hz with downscaled 4K, do you notice bad input lag / bad response times?

      AQM and FI27Q X looks better. Now the AQM has 97% dcip3. Anything above 90% you eventually can notice. It's a matter of build quality because both are so close in specs. Have you considered the LG 32GQ850 Odyssey G502A 32inchs tho... or did you need 27:. I kind of think the AQM is nicer but they are really tied. ( I thought I had awnsered you I guess it got lost)
