Thanks for your icc profile. My eyes were burning out from the default factory setting no matter how much brightness i turned down. Your profile fixed it and colors look more like they should. Appreciate it a lot

that color accuracy is BIG NUT on a gaming monitor holy sheeeeeeeet
I did a three hour calibration using Displaycal and a colorimeter with mine (the 32" version), the color accuracy and picture afterwards are big nut and it looks incredible. Everything I look at on it is eye candy.

Bro, awesome video. I bought samsung odyssey g7 and alienware aw2721d after watching your reviews. My personal experience is that the alienware is much better.
Also, with the alienware, if you switch from rgb to ycbcr422 (in nvidia settings) you can go all the way to 12 bit with 240 Hz

What is the IPS glow like when the screen is fully black? Only thing I hate about IPS panels, blacks look more grey than black, hoping that's not the case with this panel.
@@fu928 the ips glow on the Acer is pretty good. Maybe a bit better than average. I had the Alienware and it was really bad. Seemed like it had glass on the monitor or something.
@@fu928 Its minimal, but not nonexistent. One of the best IPS I've owned in terms of bleed. I think I may have gotten a slightly worse panel than Bijan, but its totally acceptable and MILES better than my G7 that I'll now be getting rid of. I really cant recommend this monitor enough for competitive FPS.

@@MrGren-hq8yw You can find them at micro center but they have been sold out for a while now. I suggest the Acer.com store. They come in stock on there a couple times a week, usually in the morning.

if u want the best between competitive shooter and triple A titles full graphics experience, so far at least . this monitor seems to be the best by far. HDR sucks 400 is not enough and 600 is better but not that great, im not expert but from the research that i did at least even 600 is sucky.

@@salmark9080 they are , g7 = 600 hdr, lg 27gn950 is also 27 inch 600 hdr monitor but its 4k not 1440p like g7

Yep, I think I’m going with the AW2721D. Unfortunately it’s going for $890 now so I missed the boat on the 700ish price tag. I’m sooo tired of EVERYTHING being sold out so I’ll reward them for actually having stock of their product with a purchase.

@@AlienGreen7 same! :D i got the AORUS, it's great in every regard, except the backlight strobeing mode, pixel overshoot is disgusting... but you gotta enable it if you play cs go. no other way.
contrast could be better, but the colors are so pretty out of the box, and trinket hdr is not that bad imho.
@@gollumblindguardian is overshoot still noticeable in games like valorant ? Sucks to hear that there is overshoot maybe I should have gone with the acer

No, every monitor is different. If you really want to calibrate it you'll need a X-Rite i1Display Pro.

Looking forward to the Asus PG259QN review! Btw if you personally had to choose between a 1080p 360 Hz and 1440p 240Hz display , which one would you choose? Provided you mostly play Battleroyales like Warzone , PUBG , Fortnite.
You'll not be able to get stable 360 fps in warzone or pubg in 1080p even on lowest settings with the best pc, also there's no noticeable difference between 240 and 360 hz but there's a massive difference between 1080p and 1440p. Also acer has better colors.
Even if you get the 360fps. 1440p is where is at battle Royale wise. Hands down the best res to play it due to more details and easier to spot targets at longer distances etc. Now for 6vs6 games etc 360hz is hands down the best you can have. Period.
240hz with ulmb (like benq's dyac) will be much clearer than 360hz without ulmb.
@@theendurance Alienware 360hz is almost just as good as the best benq there is.
I'd go with 1440p 240Hz. My aspiring pro days are over.

Only thing missing from this monitor is hdr 600 +... a monitor worth $700-800 with HDR specs of a $300-400 monitor lol. I decided with alienware against this monitor. I don't even know if this acer can run HDR with Freesync at 240HZ it was mainly silent about that... Like how the G7 couldn't get HDR with gsync at 240HZ....

How would it be an upgrade? Other than IPS vs VA it actually comes up just a bit short compared to the G7 in features. And it is 27" only.

@@Blue2is 'Better' is subjective. The G7 is a VA panel, a really good one, but many ppl do prefer IPS. And monitor wise a lot of things come down to preference. My point was spec wise the G7 slightly edges out the XB273U GX so I don't see how the Acer would be an upgrade. Maybe it should be compared to the G7 before proclaimed the best gaming monitor. Viewing angles really don't mean anything outside of office work after all.

Alienware beat the g7 in all techs review , and this one is slightly faster than the alienware but is missing HDR 600 and GSYNC capabilities with the HDR as this monitor has dedicated freesync and I don't even know if this monitor can go to 240HZ -270HZ with freesync or gsync ?

@@bresif9355 I mean if you only paid $550 it does sound like a good deal but if you think it is not meeting your expectations and you think you would get tired of the monitor within the next 6 months it might be a good idea to return it. But if you love the monitor and plan on keeping it and you don't notice any problems and don't want to fork over $700-800 for a somewhat better monitor I would keep it. For $550 it is a good price like I stated if you plan on keeping it and will enjoy it. Note I did find out the monitor in this video does not have Gsync/ freesync when overclocking to 270HZ.

Alienware has Gsync ultimate hardware,HDR600, design looks great, it’s an LG nanoips panel, brightness is better, true 10bit ( at 144hz at the time of writing ) compared to the 8bit+FRC of this monitor , 5 year warranty with a one to one replacement even for a single bright pixel . Add this to the end of the video and compare

Better than the Alienware 2721D ? Hmm idk. Don't think so. Alot lower contrast and brightness according to your numbers. Plus bad out of box calibration. Even lacking those features you calibrated the AW to a better number as well

@@made4snipinator these reviewers also leave out vrr range. The AW is from 1hz-240hz.helps tremendously on intensive games like cyperpunk. G7 starts at 80 which is awful
U guys heard anything about the firmware update to 10bit for full 240 hz range? I’m still waiting on it
@michael Hobson Don't feel bad. I had this Acer monitor and within a week of owning it, I got some crazy burn in issues. Returned it and got the AW27. Honestly, unless you plan to go Pro alot of the features you think the Acer is "better" at you aren't going to notice much. If you got the AW27 for 733 on Amazon you made a good purchase.
I have no idea why the fuck hes riding this monitors dick....... The AW is better in literally every single regard. REAL GSYNC IS NOT A JOKE and that VRR range is a godsend.... its a REAL 10 bit panel with better brightness contrast vrr range and again REAL FUCKING GSYNC..... WITH FULL RANGE. People have no idea how important that is when your fps drops to 70...... ITS LITERALLY THE REASON REAL G SYNC COSTS MORE..... I cant stand it when these reviewers just ignore some of the hugest selling points because "fortnite kids wont understand" AW is 45$ more on Amazon right now and WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY MORE. Black equalizer is SHIT and nobody should really ever use it on ANY monitor so that means nothing to me. I dont get it, When you look at all the REAL fact that actually matter when spending this kind of money on a screen the AW wins in literally everything. Backlight strobing? LOOOOOL fuck that enjoy nearsightedness after a year and massive migraines. Why do you think AW left it out of a super premium screen? For one.... nobody uses it because you can't use the strobing with g sync at the same time so what the fuck is the point of having it to begin with? People are stupid..... this is the monitor for them. 45$ more for the AW and I wouldn't even look at this screen twice. Another thing where he really went off is in the R6S comparison.... at 8:00. THE AW LOOKS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER AND MORE REAL! I have played R6S from launch day and have over 3700 hours in that game and I can tell you right now the AW is what that game is supposed to look like the acer looks blown the fuck out and super orange and over saturated on ALL the settings he showed. Not to mention you can see color banding and blurry shit on the last pic when he adds the "color vibrance" Why he says it looks better? I have no idea..... I have to say he's very wrong here on many many different accounts.

Had one for a month and it’s very impressive. You’ll need a top their gpu to drive it above 200fps. The response time is the best I have seen. No overshoot or ghosting while gaming. As long as you get a good one with no back light bleed or bad ips glow....you will love it. The colors, the speed, has gamma correction, and a great sRGB mode in color settings.

I picked up this monitor for $599 and boyyyy, my every dollar could not have been better spent. I mean the color brightness and motion refresh rate is impeccable. I bought the VG272UP and it has the same "Agile Splendour IPS". I'm very impressed with it so far, and for the $499 AUD I paid for it, its awesome! Its about very similar performance to this monitor only 144hz.

Just got one of these to replace my 2015 Benq TN XL2730 - Can't believe what I have been missing. This monitor caught my attention at MicroCenter and no other monitor had colors so vivid as this one. The is simply the best monitor you can buy for this price range.
