- In preparation for one of the biggest upgrades I've done on any of my cars to date, we (almost) fully deleted the TDI to get some sweet turbo whistle, power gains, and hopefully some burnouts.

whoa! that sounded so beastlike without the pipe! and that turbo whistle! lol
Roll the intro! Sick turbo whistle.
Nice job .thank you
So what do you do with the wires when you unplug them, is there a bypass plug?
There's a flexpipe in the exhaust for a reason.
My 1.9 TDI now sounds like a mini Cummins, hahha. The whistle is brilliant
Thanks for posting this video. Super helpful! I just finished the removal process today. Your video, and Rawtek’s step by step instructions, made it easy. I have a 2012 Golf tdi, and I did not unbolt the axle, or lower the subframe. I just put a Jack under the front bit of the transmission to rock the rear part of the engine down for some more clearance. Also key for me was to let the DPF come down so the bottom mounting flange was mostly below the axle. Then I just cut as much of the flange off as possible with a sawzall (something smaller would have been better…is there a small sawzall??). Couple of “power wiggles” later and the DPF was on the ground.
Hope this helps someone thinking of doing the same thing.
Thanks again.
Glad it helped you in the journey! Thanks for checking out the video!
Omg… I have to do a delete with minimal experience and this just made it seem impossible for me 😅😂. How did you get the car high enough to do everything? I’m sure it’ll be “easy” so long as I follow instructions and do my research.
Losing my mind trying to do the delete right now.... Can't get the first DPF bracket bolt undone from the topside of the engine. Also can't get the brown EGT sensor cable disconnected. Any tips either of you have to share with me?
@@kennethl2423 reddit is your answer if you didn’t get it yet. i’m looking into getting one and just wanted to see how hard it would be to do it myself, i have not done it. However, any advice for diy i can almost guarantee reddit would be easier then yt comment section… lmk how it goes!
Hello I have 2012 VW Jetta TDI 2.0 what kind of program you used to delete dpf?
I have a 13 Passat TDI/dsg, mighty mite stage 2 obd2 plug in. I want to do what you did to this one but what about my muffler fluid equipment (def).
Any thoughts on a BRM 06 TDI. It gets up to speed but it's laggy except for between 2100 and 3000 rpm. Engine is very jerky until it warms up. New fuel and air filter. I have p0131 po101 po299 p2196 codes.
Finally got mine deleted and put the exhaust on today. It's like a brand new car.
What tuning did you use or did you just delete the dpf?
@@mattklabenes9571 I used a private guy that very close to me. It's the same as the Malone Tuning. picked up about 30 wheel HP and took off the DPF. I'll be taking the rest off soon.
@@homeguy4 ok thank you very much sir appreciate your help
Do I need my egt sensors? On the bottom of the dpf
Hey, I have a 2010 mk5 jetta tdi looking to delete the dpf and go stage 2 tuned with malone, I have a 6 speed manual, will it cause any clutch slippage?
Also does the dpf delete get rid of the egr as well?
DPF is directly connected to the EGR so you’ll need a block off plate either on the cooler or delete the whole
Cooler and on the EGR At the throttle valve. Stage 2 could cause it slip so tune with caution
Are you taking any customers on to do a delete on a 2013 VW Jetta
Did you flash the DSG too? If not, is there any slip?
Tdi is flashed too, no slip at all!
Planning on doing it to my frienda a3 2.0 tdi 170, do i need to physicaly block the egr or only delete it by software? Also no need to drop the subframe or cv shaft like others said?
You don’t need to physically block it or delete the cooler if you don’t want, however I put a block plate on the open hole on the EGR cooler. Also no need to drop the subframe, just lots of rotating and trying to get it out
Hey I have a 14 Jetta TDI and I need to replace my cat cause the dpf light is on so I was wondering if I should do a dpf and cat delete and go with the rawtech exhaust or should I just replace those items? Is there any noticable power difference?
Yes, definitely worth the upgrade and stock vs stage 2 + deletes is a huge difference and sounds amazing
I believe is easier to just empty the dpf
What welding machine do you have (make/model)?
Miller 130 with argon mix
Does it roll coal now? If not how do you make it
Where did you get that? I am trying to find 3" down pipe for my 1.9 tdi brm. Can not find. Can you help?
Get the stevonson tuning eco delete kit they are awesome and have a 3 inch
Get the rawtek pipe, that’s what I have for the nice tig welded delete pipe, super high quality, mid pipe is custom as you can see in the video
Mercedes 3.0 turbo next?
Can you do that to mine?
Nice Video, I am going to do the same thing to my 14 Passat wish i had a hoist, Life on the ground is so much fun.. How are the Molone tunes? I have no use for the tuner just need a tune for mine, any suggestions for something like that. Should of just straight piped it and ditched the old stuff.
They have tons of dealers if you don’t want to keep one of their tuners, but it’s good for file updates and going back to stock if you ever need to!
@@ThatGuyTyy once it's Tuned and all is good no need for anything else. Will never go back to stock! Canadian here in Alberta.
Team Canada let’s go!
@@doserdiesel depends which tune you get stage 2 you just need an exhaust and a dsg tune if you have one. stage 3 you need a clutch or dsg tune and a cr170 turbo
@@j-thonthepython2679 ya I am just trying to find someone that I can just get the tune off of. I have no use for the tuner after because it will never go back to stock.
I’ve got to do a delete on my 2012 jetta. Is there anyway to get all of this done with out a vehicle lift? So far I’ve only changed the serpentine belt and cleaned the egr 😅😂. I have faith I can do this though.
I did it all on my back in a yard, besides bolts in the grass being hard to find it went smooth
Yes, worse case scenario you can also chop the mid pipe off the downpipe if your plan is to recycle it!
Very thorough. For me the takeaway here was - don't try this at home!
Where do all the sensors, hoses and cables go that were connected to original dpf and downpipe?
Primary EGT and Primary O2 are all that remain, everything else is unplugged and removed
@@ThatGuyTyy do you know the nut size and threads for those?
@@madvelila Unfortunately not off the top of my head..
@@ThatGuyTyy is the primary egt the cleser to the turbo or the one almost under the car?
I have an 07 Jetta, I put the 3 inch MBRP exhaust on and gutted the cat that is in the down pipe and a egr delete. It has a stage 2 Malone tune also but I can’t understand why it isn’t that loud, I was hoping to wake up the neighborhood lol. It seems to me the older models sound way better and are a lot louder. In my opinion my car only sounds decent at an idle, you can hear the turbo the best. Is that normal or am I missing something?
Do you have any overboost problems with the stage 2 and gutted cat
@@lanelawrence9022 no I don’t think so but I don’t run it really hard ether, I mainly did it for the sound but unfortunately it’s not very loud
How did you go about getting the cat? I’m gonna attempt it this weekend but I’m not sure what the best method is since the top of the cat angles into the turbo
@@brandonwonder3389 it was a total waste of a lot of time, I had the straight pipe on it already for a month or so and it made absolutely no difference in sound I was actually very disappointed. With that being said it’s totally up to you what you do with your car. We had mine on a lift and I’m pretty sure that it and the whole down pipe came out the bottom then I cut the side of it facing the firewall because the other side has a bracket on it, I used a cut off wheel on a grinder. Take care
Please Suggest me what diameter downpipe is best.. Mine is 2.0 TDI 81kw all stock
Can you share me the site you got your delete kit I need for a 2006 vw Jetta gli stage 2 tune and turbo
Rawtek!
will rawtek down pipe fit the stock cat back? do i need anything extra or to weld?
Should fit directly to stock cat back as long as you have the replacement mid pipe!
@@ThatGuyTyy thanks a lot I needed this info. How many feet of pipe did you buy and did you make or buy the flange? I’m too cheap to buy the rawtek midpipe lol
😎😁
I have a 2012 tdi i need to do this soon. I have a little warranty left then bam! Is this the kit or call rawtek?
Rawtech has a full exhaust kit, get the resonator if its your daily, you do need a tune otherwise your glowplug and engine light will be on, the cats pay for the tune though.
@@j-thonthepython2679 so is the full exhaust with the cat delete and everything? Im kinda confused on what all i need. DPF gone too i hope.
❤️🔥🇺🇸😎
where can I buy the delete kit?
Rawtek performance fabrication! Great group of guys
Lol steering wheel got some play in her
Do you have a shop ?
One that I have access to yes!
Do you need a tune if you do that delete?
Yes sir!
What will happen if you do not tune it ?
Your engine/ turbo will probably meet Jesus at some point
@@ThatGuyTyy Can you please explain me why its harmful without tune... Mine is 2.0 TDI 81kw ( No DPF)
where would i get a tune like that to put on my car when i delete it ?
Right here brother! tunezilla.com/tunes/thatguyty 10% discount as well
@@ThatGuyTyy if i’m putting a cold air intake and a new turbo i would need different turning for that stuff to i’m assuming so how would i go about that stuff to?
@@rickyt5963 if it’s a bigger than stock turbo yes, if not then you are ok if it’s just a stock replacement
Where is your shop? I want this done on my Jetta!
I do not own a shop - located in Canada
@@ThatGuyTyy ok where can i get this done?
Does the car have to be tuned
Yes must be tuned due to deleted dpf and O2/ EGT change s
Is it mint or what
Minty as heck!
Wanna do another 09?
Hahah if you're local to Vancouver I could be interested - DM me on instagram!
after you delate the DPF still pass the smoke check
Mines fully deleted. Everything for emissions and mine passes the sniffer.
No emissions deletes made by any company or tune is designed to pass emissions or fake emissions ready status cause it’s super illegal, delete at your own risk!
The disclaimer for a Kit like this is For off road use only.
What year is your car ?
This is an 09, so it’s a common rail CBEA/CJAA
@@ThatGuyTyy thank you I have 2012 Jetta TDI 2.0 do you think I can find something for this car?
Is that dpf on a 2006??
2009, CBEA 1st year common rail
Is this the same as a 2006? I just bought an 06 and the flex pipe is leaking and needs to be replaced to pass state inspection and I cannot find the pipe anywhere!
@sgrasmick82 yours should be PD or a BRM depending on the production date
It’s a Brm I believe it has some catalyst off the turbo then outlet to flex pipe but not positive. And cannot find the catalyst off the turbo anywhere
Yo bro
I did the delete on my 06 tdi and now when i start it, it dies right away…
Did you tune? Leave sensors unplugged?
@@ThatGuyTyy no tune. Everythings plugged in, how many are there?
Depends on the model of engine, 06 is a different engine than the one you see in this video.
@@ThatGuyTyy ok, are u in BC?
you fuel get alot better if you had some lol
