Love the video and thanks for the links. Question for anyone...I have a 2014 Q7 3.0 TDI Prestige too. My problem is that my coolant is leaking into the oil pan. I also have coolant backflowing into my turbo. I'm sure the heads and head gaskets are fine. Could the leak be coming from the same area as this video? Would appreciate any feedback.

I plan to get this one, i just really wanted to see the music volume... i guess you cant get everything you want. RSNav has one for the q7 but they want like $820 which is rediculous but the quality is probably there.

When i work on my Audi I always remove the hood props and with the help of a hook and some straps I can keep the hood open at 90° and have the props out of the way...

You will lose sound quality!! You can not make it work with factory bose system - amplifier! It will sound like your lessening tro transistor radio spickers! Apps and functions work exelent!

Do you ever get a lag when accelerating from say 50-70 mph when the speed limit changes? Mine seems to take a moment to figure out what’s going on then a huge surge of power. Standard engine afaik. Also it’s manual and will do this even if I’ve shifted down for the power band in preparation for accelerating. It only does it when switching from cruising to WOT. If I shift up while accelerating up a hill or merging there’s no lag. Is this the EGR valve being closed as the car switches from “normal” driving to high load/rpm?

Hey Ty, I know you may have even sold this car by now (I think you mentioned it in one of your vids) but did you ever consider AWD swapping it like the guys at CO Motorsport do over on the East Coast? I want to eventually AWD swap mine. They make it looks like a pretty step-by-step swap. It’s by no means easy, but it’s a path well followed by them. To my knowledge they haven’t done it to a TDI, but I asked and they said it should be the same as the gassers so long as the trans is the same (it is).

It seems it's hit or miss on reliability. I knew someone who had a 2006 A3 8P and he struggled with all kinds of issues. He loved the car's looks, handling, and torque performance, but he eventually ditched it. I've got a 2007 A3 8P 2.0 FSI DSG S-line, bought brand new (so 17 years now) and I just hit 100k miles. Best car I've ever owned. Super reliable. Never stranded. Extremely agile. And still solid, no creaks, great performance. I wish I'd gotten the OEM roof rails. They sit so flush and look terrific. City MPG could be better (I do get 33 mpg on the highway). I put a Kenwood DDX9904s head unit in it and it's so much better than the RNS-E. I'll probably keep this car for another 2 or 3 more years, then go hybrid or EV.

Off topic, but in need of suggestions, I have a 2015 sports wagon tdi, auto, with rawtek downpipe and straight pipe, Look for a turbo upgrade while being able to keep it as my daily w out issues and needing Intercooler sand charge pipes. Looking at cr190 or gtd1456 with custom Tunes. Recommendations?

Did you use a liquid gasket for the valve cover, or is there gasket material? Need help ASAP currently dealing with this issue now.

I thought you had to secure the camshafts or lock the timing chain tensioner before removing the valve cover, because it’s technically not a “valve cover” it’s a cam cradle or something? And if you remove it you can fuck up your camshafts? Someone please correct me if I’m wrong

I just soldered a wire to the buss bar on the bulb holder, ran it out the vent hole, then connected with a spade connector. Also, pretty sure mk2’s are aluminum and won’t rust.

Best video for this, indeed. I have a 2015 Q7 TDI that just came off warranty on August 31, 2024. Sadly, the oil cooler is not covered. I started having a bit of a coolant leak, which the dealer said it was the water pump and wanted $2,000. I took the car back and swapped it for $120 (FCP Euro). I was a bit concerned because while creating the vacuum for the coolant flush, it would not hold, so I stuck a camera around the oil cooler and it seems it is just leaking a little bit and there is some oil too. Now I know the oil coolers misbehave on this engine so I ordered all the parts, but the bolts. QUICK QUESTION: Are the bolts reusable or do I have to get all new bolts?

Handy Audi entuziast here, I just said goodbye to my beloved A6 C6 3.2 FSI, after so many miles that served me so well (took it for a road trip to San Diego) and of course after lots of DYO hours with it... But recently just rejoined to the TDI club, I use to be a big fan of diesel prior moving to N. America 20 years ago... So, I traded my 3.2 FSI (best naturally aspirated engine ever) for a A8L D4 TDI, an extremely low mileage (30 000) it's a rare occurrence for north American, only 2 for sale in Canada, only 8 in USA... Anyway, glad that I found your channel, new subscriber here, I'll try to post videos as well. Greetings from Langley BC.

I love my 14 wagon. Just got my dpf and egr replace 12 days before warranty ended. Sadly VT inspection laws restrict me from deleting, but the kerma tune is pretty fun
