I highly recommend this car. I've owned mine since 2015. You definitely brought up all pros and cons of this engine. The emissions may be the most annoying thing on the car. I've recently deleted the EGR & DPF and installed a turbo back exhaust. Best decision I've made. About to hit 200,000 and it still gives me no problem.
@@dudestuff1557 I tested the upgrade on a cross country trip and on a full tank, I managed to get 530 miles all highway. City I can get anywhere from 400 to 500.

Traded in 2010 Jetta TDI on the scandal, used the money to buy a 2015 TDI Sportwagen, now looking to get a 2013 TDI golf as a second car. They are by far the best commuter cars ever sold in North America.
Great video. We traded in our 2013 6-Speed Golf TDI after Dieselgate. Was on the fence about it but VW offered close to what I paid for it. We now own a 2002 Golf TDI with the ALH motor which we love. Does not have near the bells and whistles but it is a fun car to drive and averages 48 mpg with over 50 mg on road trips. Still miss the 2013
taking delivery of my 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDi next week. and she's got a manual! Had a mk IV golf tdi some years ago. It regularly got 45 mpg hwy, but I did an economy run once (ie 55 mph on the interstate) and got around 60 mpg.
I am currently in Florida about to haul a uhaul to TN with mine. It took some digging bc the owner's guides shipped out with a lot of *'s that signified not available at time of printing. From what I have found it has a towing capacity of 1300kg. I pulled a 4x8 cargo trailer from South FL to Central FL. About half full. I will guess Lil Saucy was hauling appx 800lbs of trailer and cargo for a total of about 1600lbs. It was faster off the line than a Duramax hauling a 5th wheel. He videoed me running off and leaving him. I chickened out at 55... Damn stickers all over the trailer. Pulling the 8' trailer we got 22.8mpg average. In Central FL I switched to a 150 llb heavier 6x12 trailer that's rated 100lbs less than the 1300kg or 2600 the car can do. I'm not loading to capacity. The larger trailer comes with trailer brakes. That is my main reason. With the 12' trailer the car is taxed. You can feel it on the hitch and in the wallet. It's getting 20.2mpg so far pulling the 12' tandem axel trailer. I haven't left for Tennessee yet and haven't felt the trailer property balanced. It's a little hitch heavy on the last two errands I ran so I am expecting the ride to improve after the last couple hundred pounds go into the rear of the trailer and tied down. As it stands, hitch heavy pulling close to 2000lbs, she's losing traction on the paint lines at stop lights when I try to impress ppl pointing at it.
update: we played The Little VW that Could up two hills in Birmingham, but other than that, she pulled comfortably away from most other vehicles on the road with a 4x8 trailer behind her, but the tandem axle 6x12 trailer was another story. I think she'd have pulled the 4x8 up the hills in Birmingham AL effortlessly, but the 6x12 turned got me down to 40mph and 3100 rpm with no power remaining before we crested. Had the climbs been a couple hundred feet higher, I don't know if she'd have downshifted and kept pulling slower, or stopped, I didn't find out, but I WAS worried. On the flat, and with mild hills, I'd say she pulled that 6x12 as well as my 90 Jeep Cherokee, which wouldn't have balked at the two hills. It's the 4.0 straight six. However, i'd have gotten about 14mpg with the Jeep. My 2011 Golf pulled a 6x12 trailer from Central FL to Central TN, and got 20.8mpg avg and completed it in 11hrs, with 7 stops and 3 passengers, one wheelchair disabled! The Golf TDI kicks ass.
I bought a 2015 Jetta tdi sel that was a part of dieselgate, got it in 2019 with under 50k miles, love it, great mpg! City I get 35+, and around 50+ highway, especially on long highway trips. Keeping up with routine maintenance, the only issues I've had are the tie rod ends, and the speed sensors, everything else has been routine maintenance. Well, a heater core and blend door actuator, otherwise, love my Jetta!
You just got to Love The TDI I have a 2003 Jetta TDI No major work kept the maintenance up and I still get 39.2 miles to the gallon and It has 487,915 miles on it and it's still going strong and you will fall in love with the manual transmission I still enjoy it..
I have had 2007 City Jetta as my first Volkswagen amazing handling capability and fuel efficiency Volkswagen are very basic is what I appreciate eyes on the road is where you need them to be not trying to locate buttons…I upgraded to 2013 TDI Jetta love love this car more power under the hood than the vehicle itself visually looks basic efficient on diesel engine last longer than gas basic interior sunroof crazy fender sound system seats are comfortable front and back lots of legs room love my Jetta
I’ve owned 3 TDI wagons they are the best all around car I have ever owned, period!! #1 was a manual which I loved but wife wanted auto so traded it for #2 which I sold back to VW despite loving the car. I then drove a corolla and a plug-in Prius for the next two years for my commuter...I drive 100 miles per day. The Prius was literally the worst car I have ever driven in my life! As soon as VW fixed the TDI and they flooded the used car market for 1/2 price I purchased a 2013 and I have my favorite commuter car back with the versatility of an suv and the mpg of a Prius and sporty enough driving to have some fun. Buy one! BTW these TDI’s are covered to 120k miles from VW as part of the dieselgate apology.
I have a ‘14 Jetta TDI. VW offered me $7000 more than I paid for it to buy it back. I kept it because I love the thing. Drives like a little Porsche and gets 47 MPG. They do have their quirks though. Mostly little design flaws that can get pricey. But the power train is rock solid. If you can keep up with the maintenance and the quirks there is no reason you can’t go 300k in one of these.
Nice wagon, I’m starting to notice how hard it is to find a TDI period. I’ve called up multiple dealerships and looked all over online and nothing comes in. I would love a manual. Enjoy it man!
I have a 2014 passat TDI. Looked at a few jetta TDI wagons, but the passat just has more leg room. I can still average 600+ miles on a tank, cruising at 75mph. I love my passat. My only gripe is that totally stock, it tops out at 113.
I have tdi Sportwagen almost 40k kms since 2018. 6 years. I don't worry what you are saying or be a problem because I drive it as if it's a ceramic. So far so good.
I absolutely love my white 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen SEL TDI with 6-speed standard transmission! Bought it CPO last May and other than a wiring harness issue where the injector 3 power lines occasionally arc to the block (which is scheduled to be replaced in the coming weeks), it's been a great and enjoyable car! I have a VAG-COM cable and have enabled a few awesome features using VCDS on my laptop!
i drive 64 miles round trip to work every day and my 2011 jetta tdi gets close to 50mpg, so i use less than 1.5 gallons of fuel despite my long drive, plus it has a turbo and it actually has some power so its the best of all worlds. 100% recommend, it was in the shop for maintenance so i borrowed a ford focus for a week and my fuel bill was almost double plus it has very little power. i love the tdi
Such a GREAT CHANNEL!!! You say you are making videos for diesel enthusiasts- BUT you are making me a diesel enthusiast by watching your channel. Great job and excellent photography!!!
My 2005 Golf 1.9 Tdi has just clocked 400 000km and still goes like stink. Mind you, I have changed oil and filters every 5000km, easy to service yourself. I make also sure the timing belt is changed on time.
I have a 2015 TDI Turbo Sportwagon. I live an hour west of Philladelphia, so I'm driving a mix of suburban and highway driving. I get 32 to 36 mpg locally, 45-50 highway. The 32 mpg was a hilly 7 mile commute in really cold weather, at least by Philly suburbes standards: 12 to 20 degrees F - coldest snap in the two years I've owned it. My poor engine never even got fully warmed up on the coldest mornings.
1.9 TDI Passat manual european wagon. Green Machine man, so much room when you push in and release the clutch. As a tall guy pretty good, not so taxing on the balls, no soggy balls at all I can manspread the hell out of that seat. Strange reason to love a car but yeah that's why I loved it. And TDIs and diesel generally are safe because you got that extra engine braking so I drove my passat like a truck, mostly engine braking even in traffic. Some of the best cars ever made. Also loved the more simple pre 2003. engines without EGR which only have the turbo or regular electric to maintain and service. 110 hp was perfect.
I own a 14 jsw love it I’ve driven it across the states twice. Gets high 30s consistently. Only problem I’ve had was clogged heater core last year vw wouldn’t cover it. I’m convinced it was from sitting in a holding lot for 1 to 2 years
I just ordered a 2014 tdi sportwagen with a manual transmission. I'm looking forward to seeing your build as it progresses. I'm planning on installing a s&b intake right away.
We bought two of these cars at that time - a 2014 Beetle TDI and a 2015 Golf TDI. They've been super excellent, and the cost wasn't bad at all. You're right, at the time they were incredible deals!
2013 tdi passat. Any money saved on fuel I wasted on maintenance. When things break and they do , get ready to shell out. Like 1200 for an altenator. Everything is harder to do yourself like a simple oil change or transmission fluid change. And if u dont do it yourself the shop wants 700 bucks. Plus the interior is falling apart.
Vw passat cc b6 owner 2.o tdi sport, and I, ll be straight, some say underrated car I tend to agree, has the tdi engine. I, m averaging 53.7 mpg regularly, I love my car, best car I ever owned, and I plan in keeping it, as and when, next car will be tdi also, I fully agree best used car is vw passat or golf or cc tdi, super ultra reliable, i change my filters and oil every 3000 miles, and it does wonders for the engine and runs excellently and great on pulling power, everyone is very surprised when they get in my car, its fully loaded black on black interior all the bells and whistles, and full black leather recarro seats which are very very comfortable, I def buying another later on hell I may have 2 and just keep this one, highly recommended car 👌👍👍😁
Bought my daughter a bright red tdi w 100k for 7k in 2020 .right as car prices went insane .so far we are extremely happy with it . Only issue we had is heater core went but was repaired under warranty.best part when we bought we didn’t know it had factory warranty till 125k! So we lucked out there
I have had three tdi's. Had my 2012 tdi jetta 6speed manual almost 4 years now. Dpf was replaced under warranty. That's the only repair/ maintenance it has needed. Love the car, 38.5mpg average and reached 52mpg on a couple road trips. I would love a passat tdi with a manual.
If you do buy beware of the panoramic sunroof. Mine ended up breaking and was super expensive to fix. Unfortunately I was in a manic state and wasn't offered a warranty
In 2018 I bought a 2013 golf TDI with less than 29000 miles on it for under $12000. Have 65000 on it now. Average 41-42 mpg combined city and highway. Love this car like he said in the video best car deal around!
I bought a 2015 three years ago. Excellent car. I don’t understand why more people don’t drive them. Much much much less expensive to own than a Tesla. One thing that I really love is only having to fuel twice a month. They also operate on synthetic oil which means you only service it every 10k miles. These cars are amazing
Bought a gray golf 2 door in 6speed manual, absolutely love mine and I’m getting about 32-35 mpg but my way to work is up a hill from 2000 to 4000 above sea level
It's 120k and no time frame for the Mk6 TDI Timing belt. I had mine fail at 80k and VW covered everything under the Dieselgat warranty. Completely new engine, turbo, and HPFP. Another thing to look out for on these is the Pano roof. I have already had my entire assembly replaced under the CPO warranty. The final thing to know is that DSGs need to be serviced every 40k miles. If you do the service, the DSG should last forever!
That’s awesome they they covered the timing belt failure! VW’s warranty coverage on these cars is beyond impressive. Basically means you can just drive them and not worry about a thing!
This line of cars is a no brainer. Picked up a 2004 to do a series of 7000k (KM) round trips with no regrets. This i s 2021 folks.... Scroop up the inventory, it a goof value proposition. Buy blow, ride high.
It's coming out now that more car manufacturers were doing the same as VW with the emissions trick. I bought a 2014 Golf 2.0 tdi dsg 6 months ago... Love it!.. Oh, and it's £30 a year road tax, thanks to the emissions scandal!
i have an a3 tdi. its comfy, super economical, very fun and go-karty. But mine has been such an unreliable trash heap. Make sure if you get one, make sure the engine is in top tier condition
I don't know what is going on with my VW Golf Sportwagon TDI bought June 2020 with only 20 thousand miles, and I only put two thousand miles on it so total of twenty two thousand miles and it has died twice once in November and just recently Dec 2021. I bought TDI Beetle in 2009 never had issues this sportwagon is my worst nightmare.
I drive a 2007 manual 1.9 tdi Skoda Octavia mk2 wagon. I live in Norway though, so when I drive around my home region with shit ass terrible roads, I get 6.4L/100km (38 mpg) which I consider bad. But when I drive on good straight flat roads I can get 5.2L/100km (45 mpg)
#MakeAmericaTDIagain. Good video man my family has had TDI's since 01. Im driving our original one still, great cars, economical as hell and fun to drive even the old 90 hp alh's!
Great video and good info on these cars. TDIs are a tempting deal right now. I often think about getting a V-10 TDI Touareg, because they're so cheap, even though I know they are absolute maintenance nightmares lol.
Got 2016 1.8T Jetta Sport... great car... dealers and VW Canada...sadly...liars from the head down as the local dealer proved to be... great review... question ...what wagon handles as well as the sport / gti ... need more space ... wagon as not a suv fan.
I know there's a lot of positive comments about the TDI, but I've also heard the DefBlue system can be problematic. I've seen comments that these were expensive fixes even with the warranty. So what have been peoples experience with the reliebility of the DefBlue system?
I own a 2012 tdi golf with 65000km on it and it's gone up in price since I bought it. 3 years ago.i like it but when it gets near 100k it's getting a Malone tune.
I’m guessing you missed the whole dieselgate thing. According to the settlement VW made with the EPA and the DOJ, they cannot sell new diesel’s in the US ever again. Even if they could, the scandal cost them over 20 billion, they don’t want to have anything to do with diesels in the US.
@@lizardking91 I agree, used TDI's can still be bought. VW and Audi just cannot sell new ones. I own a 7P Touareg TDI, other than the Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pump, its a great vehicle.
Can’t stand that Atlas. What an ugly monstrosity, but I’m not shy about my disdain for SUVs, as I much prefer wagons. I wish they’d bring back the Passat wagon and Golf and Alltrack Sportwagen.
I have the same car that's in the video. I love it. You can spin the tire up to about 20 mph. The DSG transmission is friggin' sweet. The kids and Great Dane love the Pano sunroof.
I picked up a '15 Golf Sportswagen for a killer price and freaking love it. Has a perfect service history paid less than 10k. The best overall range I've gotten was nearly 600 miles (with a tailwind 🤣) while fully loaded with the family on a cross coutry roadtip.
Currently looking at a '15 myself, it has right at 100k miles. Kinda bland service history, though? It's a really good looking unit, they're asking $12.5k. I seen the timing belt was 130k miles/8 years I think? So I was thinking about using that as a little negotiating point, and getting it done as soon as I got the car. Is there a way to look at the belt without removing anything, and see if it needs changed? Or it's just a maybe, maybe not, need changed?
@@whatta7793 Did you get it? The belt's not hard to see under a little shroud on the left side of the engine, but that's a good bargaining chip. I got a 2013 jetta mk6 at 95k km (~59k mi.) five years ago and just got the timing belt/water pump kit (they say do em at the same time because the pump's right there if you're doing the timing belt). She's at 175k km (110k mi.) now and the original belt still looks good, but i'm not taking any chances, considering this engine should go for a long time with a little tlc.
I picked up my 2015 TDI GSW at the very end of 2019, before the madness of the world took over. I bought it with 47k miles for 9-racks... It was salvaged but that was a steal of a deal. I now have over 200k miles on the clock. I drive the crap out of it! I do a lot of gig work and my regular job causes me to drive a lot too. Does great on fuel. Anywhere from 36mpgs up to 50mpg on long set your cruise interstate trips! God willing, the car will last another 100k miles!
Yes, I'll add my vote for the TDI. Just a bit off topic, but we have owned a 2002 Jett TDI since new and it has been a great daily driver and long distance vehicle which had never left us stranded until recently, around 160K miles when the AT started slipping. I'm into cars these days, so my plan is to swap a manual transmission into this car and drive it, hopefully to 200k or even 300k miles or more. And I agree, the VWs just seem to be comfortable cars. We own a Tiguan and a Passat, as well.
Iam in Amgeria i pray god to be able to own hapily a nice vw

@@scottyrousay1608 I heard that this is because of planting the accelerator before the clutch has engaged properly, off the lights all the time, causing this. That and the 7 speed dry clutch auto's having issues.
My jetta tdi had a fuel pump failure that left me with a huge towing bill. Once it was diagnosed at the dealership they found that the fuel pump was coming apart, and the exhaust cooler failed also. Both under warranty and getting fixed for free but don't be surprised if it happens at the worst time.
So what is your opinion on the desirability of TDI's now that diesel fuel is considerably more expensive than gasoline? Don't get me wrong, I really like my TDI's but I questioning the economics vs a gas VW.
Find yourself a used 14-15 Chevy Cruze diesel with the 2. 0 litre. Its quicker has more range and doesn't suffer from HPFP or rail issues. 01:20 a little bit of a scandal? That scandal cost them $35 billion dollars. Yes, with a B!! They screwed diesel for passenger cars in the US forever.
I have a 2015 Jetta TDI, one of the nicest cars I've ever owned. Fantastic MPG, and yet performance is pretty good as well. Had some issues with emissions. Now and then it throws a code for reasons that have never been explained, which has given me headaches come inspection time. The service station resets the code for me, I drive it for a couple days and bring it back and it passes without issues.
First of all great video-thank you. I own two Jetta Sportwagen’s., 2011, and 2013. About two years ago I started a new job, but my commute went to 50 miles/day. I wanted a cheap fuel efficient car, and stumbled upon the Jetta Sportwagen TDI. My daughter started driving after I bought the first one (DSG) and she liked it so much I gave it to her and bought another one 2013 manual. The manual has a 14.5 gallon fuel tank and I get about 500 miles per tank. The auto gets about 400/tank. We both love the car’s. My fuel cost’s are about $12/week and I drive 209 miles/week just to work and back. I paid $12K for the 2011, and $14K for the 2013. The only bummer is that they are not AWD. We put Blizaks on the 2011 for my daughter and she doesn’t have any problems in snow/ice. I love my Sportwagen wagon it was cheap, and has many luxury features like heated seats, which are phenomenal, heated mirrors, heated WW wash, etc.
Mine is a 2013 Diesel Beetle. I picked it up after my first diesel bug was totaled. This one had 32,904 miles on it and the cost was high because it's a convertible, my first. I love it. A 14.5 gallon tank, 42 to 48 mpg, a Tiptronic transmission, 90 miles a day 5 days a week. I follow the 10,000 mile maintenance schedule, the only thing different is I change the oil at 5000 mile intervals. I make a lot of demands of my D-Bug.
DO these cars have weird breakdowns that cost alot. That is what i hear or is the TDI much more reliable that the gasoline ones? I have always been a Toyota guy because of reliability. However, I like diesel and the mpg are amazing. I appreciate your video.
Picked up an ‘11 TDI SW 6 speed manual about the time you posted this vid. Love it. One prob was Throttle Housing - dealer replaced under warranty. Paid under 10k- you’re Spot on! Secret is out
Great video. I have 2015 VW golf TDI. I see all positive comments here but do want to make everyone aware of a painful $2500 experience and multiple visits / mechanics assessment that I went through. My gears were jumping at 1K - 2K RPM or 10-20 mph gear shift and eventually stalling out. First, MAF wiring replaced, fuel filter, DSG full service/transmission fluid. Neither worked, eventually they tugged on the crank sensor / wiring and felt it loose so they say and replaced it on “diesel warranty” after they provided a loaner car for all the troubles and (4) visits and two mechanics, with majority of the work at VW dealership. Otherwise, car is great up to 130k and 50mpg. Beware of crank! I hope I get to 200k
i bought my 2015 mk7 golf tdi 6-speed brand new, have owned it for over 5 years now, i love it! after the scandal, i didn't sell it back to vw, i received the compensation, kept it, continued to drive it everyday the peak torque kicks in at around 1700 rpm, i get 50mpg on the highway, and i drive like a maniac lol haven't had any problem with it, even after the emission fix, still very punchy and fuel efficient. i've only put 44k miles on it so far, only thing i did is changing the oil myself, nothing else, the original oem brakes and brake rotors are still kicking, can probably last till 50k. if you find a tdi at a good price, i'd say buy it!
I will never own another vw period. trading in my 14 jetta tdi this friday nothing but problems like headlight and tail light bulbs that constantly burn out .I ended up having a shop change them and they removed the headlights them selfs saying it’s easier to change the bulbs vs trying to get your hands in they very tight spot . i see lots of other jetta’s with burnt out lights also . My drivers seat has ripped right down the stitching seam , starter went out and again is a bear to change out . both my driver and passenger window switches on driver side you have to pull up hard on the buttons to get windows up . i had to ratchet strap my passenger door last winter because the cable inside snapped just so i could get home from work.now the engine light is in . One thing i will say is it’s a good looking car inside and out compared to the 2021 corolla i just bought .these things cost a lot to maintain especially the emissions stuff if and when it goes out . i’m sorry but new diesels just aren’t worth it now and i didn’t find mine got much better fuel milleage vs a civic or corolla vs extra cost or potential cost .things like having to replace a turbo, injectors ,dpf or the HPFP that can cost up too $8k if it goes out and throws metal throughout your lines
Best quote from your video. "I wonder how many, uh, manual diesel wagons there are?" I'm not a fan of brown, so, I didn't add that quote. I would love to get my hands on a B3 tornado red Passat diesel manual wagon.
I don't really understand the calculus on not making hybrid TDIs. When the whole thing went down there was no way I was getting rid of mine. 50 mpg? 230 NM torque? Would people pay an extra 1 or 2K to get what.....70 mpg? Hell yes. Hybrid diesels would be the second most energy efficient powertrain after full electric, except without with the limitations on range and charging infrastructure.

It was faster off the line than a Duramax hauling a 5th wheel. He videoed me running off and leaving him. I chickened out at 55... Damn stickers all over the trailer.

Im averaging 525 miles per tank in my 2014 Passat, easily my best vehicle purchase.
For the Fuel Injection Pump, you can add 2 ounces of ATF to the fuel tank every fill up.
I've owned my manual TDI wagon since 2015, LOVE IT... 219k miles now, just did the second timing belt service. Probably will hold on for another 100k
2001 passat 1,9 tdi. loving the sound of it when idle
don't forget to drill the inter cooler .after the decarb the ALH is bad for that EGR screw up
Nice wagon, I’m starting to notice how hard it is to find a TDI period. I’ve called up multiple dealerships and looked all over online and nothing comes in. I would love a manual. Enjoy it man!
I found one! Going to look at a '14 tonight!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words!
110 hp was perfect.
first tdi was an alh, now a 2012 golf with the tech package, literally every single bell and whistle, dsg, and dynaudio. best purchase ever for 11800
I own a 14 jsw love it I’ve driven it across the states twice.
Stock intake is better on these. Put your money into a tune/delete
We bought two of these cars at that time - a 2014 Beetle TDI and a 2015 Golf TDI. They've been super excellent, and the cost wasn't bad at all. You're right, at the time they were incredible deals!
Fantastic video. Insightful, and I also enjoy my TDI motor's torque, and the DSG's quick shifts in my '13 Passat. Keep it up!
2014 auto tdi wagon is my first car and I love it to death
have the 15 golf tdi and I get about 51 mpg average have over 165000 km on it so far but mostly hwy driven. Love it.
So we lucked out there
Got a tdi wagon just like this as my first car. I haven't looked back since
Love my 12' TDI! quick, fun to drive and comfortable.
Is the 2013 a good year to buy one ?
Going to go up in price now that gas prices almost doubled.
A little correction: TDI’s are also commun in the whole world. Not just Europe and the U.S
I just bought a 2015 golf tdi, would u recommend a tune or anything else?
Bought a gray golf 2 door in 6speed manual, absolutely love mine and I’m getting about 32-35 mpg but my way to work is up a hill from 2000 to 4000 above sea level
Just bout a 2011 Jetta. Wondering how many miles I’ll get out of it
It's 120k and no time frame for the Mk6 TDI Timing belt.
MkIV Golf 1.9 ALH currently sitting at 364k 🤘
for the timing belt the owners manual says 130k miles for these tdi jetta wagons
I have this exact same car and I love every bit of it.
I still miss the 2010 TDI jetta Cup Edition that I turned in during the diesel buy back.
I owned a mk4 jetta wagon and I regret selling it. Looking to upgrade from a Legacy
I have a 2015 Jetta TDI
Beautiful car and mileage
#MakeAmericaTDIagain. Good video man my family has had TDI's since 01. Im driving our original one still, great cars, economical as hell and fun to drive even the old 90 hp alh's!
Have a black wagon just like this at 89k and buying a buddies 03 that has somewhere over 250k.
Great video and good info on these cars. TDIs are a tempting deal right now. I often think about getting a V-10 TDI Touareg, because they're so cheap, even though I know they are absolute maintenance nightmares lol.
Take it from a Porsche Cayenne owner don't
The 3.0 TDI is quite reliable though.
That’s isolated to the 2015 cars only, but it’s been very reliable from my experience.
@@JustDiesels what do you mean by the 2015 cars?
Riding a tdi New Beetle convertible, really feel like a fast go kart EKSDE. Btw easy to maintain...
Bro I got a 2000 alh Jetta tdi done engine work I get 65 mpg highway around 45 city
love the monstercat sweater!
Monstercat fam! 🤘
Is diesal gas available at every pump .. I looked stupid when I bought a CNG?
I own a 2012 tdi golf with 65000km on it and it's gone up in price since I bought it. 3 years ago.i like it but when it gets near 100k it's getting a Malone tune.
TDIs rock, you cant get a better mix of economy and power at such a bargain of a price
When to change the timing belt ?
NINE'S A POLO 51 PLATE.... LOVE IT SOOO MUCH 🤗
Can you delete them?
Looking at some golf’s off of copart.
Yep!
I bought a 99k recked sportwagen tdi for $1200.
Great cars service regularly and will last a long time. Some issues with injectors to look out for.
Volkswagen needs to bring back the TDI's to the states. I would love to see an Atlas TDI!
They ate still here, you just have to find them. I just got one!!
I’m guessing you missed the whole dieselgate thing. According to the settlement VW made with the EPA and the DOJ, they cannot sell new diesel’s in the US ever again. Even if they could, the scandal cost them over 20 billion, they don’t want to have anything to do with diesels in the US.
@@bradj7205 no new but alot alot of used
@@lizardking91 I agree, used TDI's can still be bought.
Alright that camera quality in the intro is movie level
I’d rock a TDI Jetta Wagon
I have the same car that's in the video. I love it. You can spin the tire up to about 20 mph. The DSG transmission is friggin' sweet. The kids and Great Dane love the Pano sunroof.
@donaldmartin4489 how are you spinning up to 20? Cant spin from more than a dig
I have a 2012 TDI sportwagen with a dsg. Favorite car I have owned. Love it.👍👍
Yes, I'll add my vote for the TDI.
That trans slip is common
Brilliant idea. You dont see many high mileage auto mk4's
I have a skoda fabia 1.9 TDI form 2009i bought it brand new 530 k miles later and the engine is still running good
Find yourself a used 14-15 Chevy Cruze diesel with the 2.
I have a 2015 Golf TDI and I love it. So fun to drive, especially uphill, and it gets 50 mpg on roadtrips.
It's the same as my 2015 Golf SportWagen and it gets 59 mpg on a road trip. I recommend different sizes of tires. Cheers!
*cries in Joe Biden*
Any problems with the emissions equipment craping out and costing a fortune to repair & replace?
Mine is a 2013 Diesel Beetle. I picked it up after my first diesel bug was totaled. This one had 32,904 miles on it and the cost was high because it's a convertible, my first. I love it. A 14.5 gallon tank, 42 to 48 mpg, a Tiptronic transmission, 90 miles a day 5 days a week. I follow the 10,000 mile maintenance schedule, the only thing different is I change the oil at 5000 mile intervals. I make a lot of demands of my D-Bug.

Just replaced my Jetta's 4th timing belt for my 2006 brm. Running strong with 360k miles in it
DO these cars have weird breakdowns that cost alot.
Secret is out
Yes, but how many miles were on it?
80k
Where did you buy a manual 1 at
@@nathanjd2802 Local (PA) used car dealer. He got it Auction. Original owner fr Illinois.
Bought a 2005 golf TDI 5 speed. Average 45 mpg on a 11gal fill up.
I hope I get to 200k
i bought my 2015 mk7 golf tdi 6-speed brand new, have owned it for over 5 years now, i love it!
after the scandal, i didn't sell it back to vw, i received the compensation, kept it, continued to drive it everyday
the peak torque kicks in at around 1700 rpm, i get 50mpg on the highway, and i drive like a maniac lol
haven't had any problem with it, even after the emission fix, still very punchy and fuel efficient.
i've only put 44k miles on it so far, only thing i did is changing the oil myself, nothing else, the original oem brakes and brake rotors are still kicking, can probably last till 50k.
if you find a tdi at a good price, i'd say buy it!
no room for the big guy... expensif to fix....the old one was very good and strong
They’re hard to find!
Bruh all of Europe already knows this
I would like to see more videos of your 1st gen. Your production value is very high. This is one reason why I subbed and glad I did
I don't really understand the calculus on not making hybrid TDIs.
