Amazing how many people mislabel him as just a country singer, when in fact he is mostly a blues artist with a bit of gospel behind it. I can only hope one day he gives us his version of "Amazing Grace" what I believe is the best and original gospel blues song of all time.
I always felt it deep when Whitney sang, her and Robin Williams are the only two celebrities I ever genuinely cried at their loss. Different voices but same soulfullness from Whitney and Chris.
The real difference: Whitney was Whitney and Chris is Chris. They have different vocal styles and genres but both performed the best national anthem performances since it was written way back when. ☺️
The difference was that Whitney's version was pre recorded - she lip sycned her performance. Chris was live and he played the guitar during the performance.

With all that's going on in the world it took me back to a time when I felt pride about my country, and it was sad and beautiful all rolled into one, it was very emotional for me!
