- Krypto The Superdog, Superman's crime fighting pet, truly brought some fun adventures... except without Superman, we instead have his new human friend... Kevin... So in light of the new version of Krypto on the big screen in DC League of Super-Pets, let's take a look at the mid 2000's animated TV, Krypto The Superdog!

Thanks so much for watching! Were you a fan of Krypto The Superdog and would you like to see a future animated Krypto The Superdog show?
WAS LITERALLY SINGING THE THEME SONG EARLIER
Sure!
A reboot of this show would be amazing!
ive always been a sucker for super powered animals so please I would watch the shit out of a revamp of this show.
Krypto was awesome to watch 🐶💙❤
Sure was, one of the most nostalgic shows I remember, hopefully would want to see the movie. I have my ways of doing so…
I remember enjoying this show as a kid. It was suprisingly self-aware, you could tell that the writers had a lot of fun writting the interactions between Ace and Krypto in particular, since they're basically standins for Batman and Superman
This show was so adorable. I love that they used actual silver age animal heroes to round out the cast. Rewatching it now definitely takes me back. I’m going to buy the dvd set when it comes out.
What are your favorite episodes?
@@danymartinmejiacabrera2111 my favorite one was the one where Bathound got the bird as a sidekick but I like pretty much any of the episodes with Streaky or Bathound.
It's really too bad that Krypto The Superdog was cancelled after only two seasons, it was such an enjoyable show although i personally found it to be underrated compared to other animated DC superhero cartoons but i love everything about it the characters were likable and funny, which is why i'm really hoping that this show gets a revival someday.
They're at least making a movie starring a version of the characters!
Yeah the cgi movie actually looks lit
The theme song was fcking annoying I can see why it didn't go far
@@mart5610 The theme song was my jam as a little kid lmao. It's totally fine for what it is since it's aimed at children.
You’re everywhere.
You know what really shook me up as a kid?
The episode where the boy is "adopted"/kidnapped by a family of giant space dogs who think he's a pet.
That concept terrified me.
@@llamawalrushybrid hm... Abandoning my human responsibilities to constantly be surrounded by dogs....
Y'know, fair enough
I liked it when he had chocolate milk and burgers, my dream
I think Teen Titans had an episode with a similar idea
@@ColeConCon oh, yeah. Weird how that's a recurring theme in DC shows.
@@ColeConCon Yea, an alien had a green dog that happened to look like Beast Boy's dog form.
Chaos ensued when it escapes the ship, and the owner accidentally grabs BB!
Meanwhile his friends are trying to get BB to transform out of dog form, and notice he's acting strange, well strange for a boy who can transform into green versions of animals! 😁
I enjoyed the show a lot along with my sister. What intrigued me the most was seeing all the different kind of pets each hero/villian had. The jokers hyenas, catwoman's cat, etc. For some reason, that was the highlight for me.
I still remember the introduction of Lex Luthor's lizard (iirc, specifically a komodo dragon)
@@bbletsplays1130 It was actually an iguana, named Ignacious.
How could I forget? The theme song lives in my head rent free and I can’t evict it no matter how hard I try
Agreed
17 years later and it’s still one of my favorite Cartoon theme songs.
I even have it downloaded on both my iPod and IPhone LOL
Same
Omg yes i used to scream it out when I was little and i still find myself singing it now lmao
*RUFF RUFF AND AWAYY*
Not only do I remember Krypto but I think this show has the better version of Ace the Bat-Hound.
His design looks akin to Batman's motif, Scott McNeil's voice for him is PERFECT and above all, he's an excellent tracker; even without the gadgets in his collar.
Meanwhile the Super-Pets version looks like a poorly done parody...like from those bargain bin DVDs
Yeah, I don’t really like Ace’s Super-Pets design, either. It looks so goofy, so much so that I didn’t even realize that actually was Ace instead of some random dog with superpowers whom Krypto randomly bumps into on the street until about a few weeks ago.
Honestly, the concept of making Ace a Boxer is the one thing I like, since Batman is 100% the type of person I could see giving a Boxer or Pitbull a chance considering breeds like that typically have a not-so-nice reputation. Everything else about the redesign, however? Definitely disappointed.
If anything, it almost feels like Ace and Krypto's roles/personalities got swapped - shouldn't Ace be the serious mentor-type and Krypto be the more silly, lighthearted one?
Yeah, I'd rather wait for the crossover with Scooby-Doo (if that ever happens).
Same here. I’ve always been a big fan of Scott McNeil. Also, I have never found Kevin Hart funny. He just annoys me
I'm glad that you talked about this show.
I loved this show as a kid and I honestly think that it still holds up much better than modern comedy-only cartoons.
If I remember correctly, this show actually tried to teach good morals and lessons.
Might not have been the greatest show, but I admire it for actually upholding what I think superheroes should be about and that's inspiring the good in all of us.
Loved this one as a kid back then
Voting in for Grossology, it was a mix of weird and funny back on Discovery Kids
Plus Martin Mystery, nothing like taking down monsters, aliens, and all kinds of supernatural
I remember watching this show on Cartoon Network back when I was a boy and I always enjoyed it. When the show later aired as reruns on Boomerang, I was happy to see it again. I just hope the new Super Pets movie is going to be pretty good (not to mention the fact Dwayne Johnson as Krypto sounds pretty good, and I think it would match up to Sam Vincent as Krypto).
I loved this show growing up. I also remember the Underdog movie, though only the trailers. I hope I can get my hands on that complete series set.
What I especially appreciate about this show is that Streaky the Supercat is actually portrayed a loyal friend to Krypto. While this show still has cats as the main villains, is nice to see a cat in a dog-centric show who's not antagonistic for once. More positive cat-dog relationships in media, please!
I really like how in spite of being the only cat on the main hero team, Streaky's treated like an equal among his cohorts, which, yes, I stan, in addition to how he's objectively the best member of the while cast, I'm not even kidding, everything he says ages like wine.
Yup!
More cat and dog friendships!
That cats vs dogs trope was still popular back then, but hey, at least we had Streaky and Krypto!
He could've been like a kitty embasador!
And there's prolly other kitties behind the scenes that were average civilians who weren't interested in fighting with dogs/taking over the world, maybe some who didn't like what Mechanicat was doing!
I know at least one of my past kitties loved my black lab- both have crossed the Rainbow Bridge years ago, but their memory lives on!
I'm glad shows and movies kinda pulled back on that aspect, they can be friends!
Krypto the superdog, much like a lot of shows, is one show that I remember watching a lot as kid. I was just 5 years old and watching a super powered dog was something I liked watching. And to be honest I hope that they do bring back the series for a reboot.
You forgot, Krypto was also in a episode of DC Super Hero Girls as Supergirl's dog. Who she entered in a dog show because she wanted to prove he was better then Batgirl's dog Ace.
This gives me alot of nostalgia. I remember loving this show. Streaky is a mood.
Do you remember an episode where Krypto and Kevin swap bodies?
I adored this show as a kid. Still enjoy going back to it now and again. Goofy, campy, simple and repetitive as it can be; this show had so much heart to it. Great voice acting, fun and lively animation and great characters. Worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it.
I couldn't care less about the show being formuliac and low-stakes. If anything, simple, episodic shows like this need to make a comeback.
I'm so glad somebody remembers the voice cast! Sam Vincent, Scott McNeil, Brian Drummond, Kelly Sheridan, even Brad Swaile got a one-shot role, too.
@@jefferyquick3280 Light Yagami was in it and I didn’t notice 🤯🤯🤯
@@maxpops8427 Look up the Krypto episode: Furry Fish. Brad plays the role of a dolphin named Dooley.
@@jefferyquick3280just looked it up it says Peter Kelamis. Brad was never in the show
I remember watching and LOVING this show. I loved seeing Batman's pet and such and how other pet or animal characters may bounce off of Krypto's personality. Hell I loved the episode where the Hero Dogs including Krypto were biting on bones causing them to be addicted into biting them (and being upset int he process) and it was Hot Dog who snapped them out of it, already stating he's used to being mad all the time, so he knew something about the bones were wrong. Hell I loved how they showed that yes, Hot Dog is usually mad, being mad as a emotion isn't bad, it's just what you do with it.
I absolutely remember Kyrpto, I've been singing the theme a lot lately too so it's funny you did this video
I loved this show as a kid! I’m glad DC isn’t giving the same treatment to it like Disney gave the Buzz Lightyear show
Man I'm mad, you said the DVD was releasing soon but they delayed it to September it seems! I was excited to go back to Krypto! You made me so nostalgic for one of my favorite shows as a kid.
Yeah I just saw after I uploaded, now we gotta wait till late September 😩
@@JordanFringe94 atleast that's only 2 months
Childhood memories, I loved this show
I remembered watching this a lot of this cartoon and I really like it. I wish we have more Krypto shows since this show lasted for 2 seasons.
00:28, ME! I remember Underdog! I loved that Movie! I also still remember the theme song in it!
Apparently I liked this cartoon (and just dogs in general) so much that I had a *giant* Krypto plush as a child. Like this thing wasn't the size of an actual great Dane but it was close to like a German shepherd in a sitting position. Super cute, super soft (not comfy though, he was filled mostly with beads and not stuffing or else he'd never be able to keep his shape, even if he lost it over time anyway), but not the strongest 😅I had to toss him cause he got a hole and started spilling beads all over the house and I wasn't any good at sewing so I couldn't save him :(
The thing I remember most vividly about this show is... its criminally catchy theme song.
I loved Krypto so much as a child that before I even knew what fanfiction was (literally before I could read and write) I would draw fanfiction stories about Krypto. One I remember most prominently is Garfield joining the superhero team. Which is hilariously memeable looking back on it now
Who is your favorite krypto character?
I watched this show so much when I was little, even though I really didn't care too much about super heroes. Its really nice having someone talk about it again
Me too
I *loved* Krypto the Superdog, it was my introduction to the character and he continues to be one of my favourite Comic characters.
Also it would be cool if they made another krypto series featuring other dc pets like Dex Starr the red Lantern cat.
I’ll never forget this show the golden age of Cartoon Network will never go away enjoying these shows on the weekends were the bomb.
who is your favorite krypto character?
It took me way too long to realize most of the villains in this show were parallels to the human villains in DC.
But seriously, I loved this show as a kid, and hardly ever heard anyone talk about it for a long time.
This show (along with Pokemon and Scooby Doo) made my childhood
I absolutely loved Krypto as a kid, pretty sure it was one of my favorites shows from that time
Though the new movie doesn't make me very excited, I feel like the film is mostly going to be a mediocre cash grab that capitalizes on the financial success of The Secret Life of Pets films. Since all the advertisements for the film adaptation seem to highlight the celebrity voice actors and not the actual PLOT for the film, something tells me that it's going to be a somewhat lazy film that just wants to lure in kids with funny talking animals that parents will tolerate because they like such and such celebrity.
If the film adaptation is actually good, I will be pleasantly surprised, but my hopes are pretty low as of writing this
When I started to see super-pets trailers I thought of this show! Can't believe you covered it
this show was a HUGE hyperfixation and source of comfort for me as a kid. I had action figures, a cape, watched the show religiously, and even had a 3-4 foot tall Krypto my dad won for me at the fair at one point. I lowkey really want to get the complete series dvd so i can relive the nostagia, but i think it would just remind me too much about my brother who made fun of me for being so interested in it to the point i stopped liking it in the first place.
I'm just glad people remember it. It was a cute little show with a nice style.
This show was like the catalyst to me slowly becoming a superman fan as a kid
I remember watching Krypto a lot when I was home sick from school. This definitely brought back memories!
This was a personal favorite.
What are your favorite episodes?
I really liked the show it was alot of fun and lighthearted, kind of wish they didn't change so much of the animals in the movie. Where's actual Ace and Jumpa? Could have had Dex-Star as the villain (cat vs dog would have been fun).
I loved this show when I was younger. Still love it to this day.
This was one of my favorite cartoons
Really happy to see you covering it
I absolutely remember this show I love this show so much I have so many fond memories of it from when I was a kid thank you so much for making this video
Loved this as a kid! It was always on CBBC in the afternoons right after we got home from school
Finally someone talks about this incredible show! Loved this more than anything when I was younger. Streaky was the best, always wanted to name a cat after him until I played Persona 5 with Morgana/Mona.
The opening to this show was so catchy to me as a kid. I would always hum it around.
This was the first show I watched on cartoon network, I loved it and basically grew up watching it.
This show was actually the first time I remember seeing the Superman logo. Was always wondering as a kid, where's Krypto when something Superman related was released!
Omg, I have this freakin show on dvd. Used to watch it constantly on boomerang when that was still around. Good times man
This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. The theme song is still stuck in my head
Even after all not watching this show or anything about it for 10+ years I still have the theme song stuck in song
I really enjoyed this show, especially all the other super pets, Lex Luthor's evil and incompetent pet lizard, Ace the bat hound, streaky the supercat and all the other ones. Honestly forgot about this show until I saw the notification.
I've only watched reruns of it. I didn't grow up with it though. But I still loved it. The cat was a mood.
That counts! And yeah, streaky was funny lol
@@mustasheolll2020i love Streaky
I need to get this of off my chest, there’s this really obscure show that was on Disney XD or some other channel I think, that I can’t find anything off. I don’t remember what it was called but I do remember a lot about the show itself. It was a 3D animated tv show that aired somewhere between the 2000’s and the 2010’s. The show was about a boy and his parents that inherited a old cinema from their grandfather. When exploring the boy finds a long halway, before his body moves on his own and he jumps into the screen. When he arrives into this new world, he finds a girl that originally wanted the old hero of this place to return, but it seems that he was the new hero of the place. (The old hero was the grandfather) along with his friends he defends this world from the main villain of the series. The main villain, I vaguely remember having black robes and dark red eyes. since he was banished from the world by the boys grandfather, he sends villain after the boy in order to steal his power & make him return. The side villains are contained into these different movies about them, and the boy is able to capture them and put them back into their films. The world the kid goes into are three different places that I remember, a ravine of some kind where there’s a huge bridge in the center, a very dark & depressing city, and some random fields or maze that’s inhabited by monsters. The show would be very episodic, with the girl calling the boy to come and help whichever world is inhabited by the villain he needs to stop, but theirs still some overarching story about the boy finding out about what happened to his grandpa & almost gets manipulated into releasing the main villain because of it. There where also sections where the main Vilain, makes these traps for the boy, where he needs to put on his goggles to see what’s happening & find a way out of the traps, there’s one with a never ending spiraling ice slide, and one where he needs to manure trough a pipe system with rats. I don’t remember what the show was called for the life of me & I hope at least some people will find out what it was called.
I never realized there were so few episodes of this show. It seems like movies are just running off of old kids shows now.
I loved this show!!! The nostalgia brings tears to my eyes!
What are your favorite episodes?
who is your favorite krypto character?
I'm gonna tell you now this show will be better than the new super pets movie.
Because krypto the superdog was such a good series and deserved so much better treatment
One scene that always stood out to me was the time Krypto almost let Snooki get ground into dog food. He was bluffing to get info out of her, but I always thought that was surprisingly dark as a kid.
Your darn right i do! Still remember it to this day even if its been like 10 years.
Wow jordan fringe just unlocked a core memory of my childhood this show was one of the many things that got me into liking dc growing up
I remember this show when I was very young it's nice to see them back in thr up coming movie they have.
This show was a lot of fun
I wish there was a season 3, and had Krypto fighting non animal supervillains. Villains like Brainiac, Metallo, and Darkseid.
I remember this show used to be on Cartoonito quite a lot, around the time I watched Cartoonito, kinda interesting to think that this and Batman: The Brave and the Bold were my introduction to Superhero's in general, I remember it being pretty good, the only things I can remember about it is, the episode where He and a Cat turned into catfish from Thicc Blue Liquid and the episode where Vanilla Ice Cream was in their backyard.
I always wondered whether this show was set in the DCAU or not. I mean, it’s not officially listed as a part of it, but there does seem to a lot of nods and references to it. And like with the first season of “Static Shock”, not all the shows have to look the same to be a part of it.
Oh my god!!!! That was my favorite show as a kid I had the dvds and it brought so much nostalgia in me when I saw that you made this video
Growing up I did watch this episode from time to time I didn't watch the whole series cuz I was busy with other stuff at the time so there were some things I like one of my favorite points of the series is that the voice of Ace the bat hound was the same voice actor who played wolverine in X-Men evolution Scott McNeil.
I still miss this show on Kids WB(I still miss Mucha Lucha, Jackie Chan Adventures, What's New Scooby Doo? Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends reruns, Pokemon Advanced Battle, Animaniacs, Static Shock, The Batman, etc. until Kids WB became TheCW4Kids, 4KidsTV, and Vortex.). 📺🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🐕🐕🐈👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻📚
I remember the Superboy animated series that was made in the late 60s. That show had Krypto in it, too. Shows you how old I am.😛😛😛
I love your videos so much keep up the good work man Jordan Fringe keep up the good work man
I remember Underdog, I had a whole hyperfixation on that movie as a kid. Ahhh, good times, good times
I enjoyed this show. I am going to get the DVD series when it comes out. I had a white dog of my own named Chika.
Used to love watching this show as a kid.
Loved watching this on Cartoon Network as a kid.

What are your favorite episodes?
I became obsessed with the show in middle school. I loved the reruns.
I was expecting this video to be uploaded especially since DC league of super pets is coming out soon. I guess somewhat my prayers have been answered
Never saw the show but I had SOMETHING with these characters on it. I can’t remember if it was a pillow or a book or a toy or what but I had something with these characters. Actually I distinctly remember having the Batman dog as an action figure
I caught this show a few times when I was home sick, a lot of the time it was on, on Boomerang where they would have what I can only remember as like 3 hour marathons of Krypto. I had no idea it only had 39 episodes, it all just became a merged blur to me lol
I remember watching this show on RUclips when I was super little!! Now I wanna see if any episodes are still on here. Also I had no idea Scott McNeil was in this! After watching Beast Wars he's quickly become one of my favorite voice actors, so it's always nice to hear him pop up.
I remember this cartoon show. I love it. Thanks for discussing this in your video.
Thanks so much for watching and for the support!
Does anyone remember that time in the early 2000s Cartoon Network did the alien invasion crossover?
It included shows like Camp Lazlo, Ed, Edd, and Eddie, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Codenamed Kids Next Door, and My Gym Partner's a Monkey.
There's a Marathon of it on CN! AND I LOVE IT!
Underdog was a goated movie I loved that movie when I was younger
I remember seeing the series appear on Cartoon Network's website after we lost access to the channel and I was so upset... And tried telling my mother about it so she'd tell my father to renew the subscription thingy... Instead we moved with no satelite reception...
I vaguely remember this show on Cartoon Network or Boomerang in the 2000s and by the time the new movie was announced, it immediately made me think back to this cartoon and knew it would soon get the attention it deserves.
Would love if you did an episode on Team Galaxy, I loved it as a kid but when i tried finding it again a couple years ago i felt like i was going insane because nobody i talked to about it remembered it
Loved this show as a kid, especially as someone who loves animals and superheroes! I really hope some of the characters like Dogwood and Drooley get a second wind, they have to be some of my favorites and I was always sad they only had one episode to themselves.
My favorite plots in the show had to be when different kryptonite effects were played around with and the heroes had to find a way to still prevail with them in play.

I remember watching this show every Saturday morning on Kids WB
I remember this show on ABC on Saturday mornings in the summer along with Phineas and Ferb
I want to forget Krypto the Superdog.
They even had the voiceover announce who wrote the episode. I can't think of any post 1990's cartoon that did that other than Krypto.
I remember seeing just a bit of the show, on CBBC, back in the late 2000s. Despite the light tone, it was quite good, though I never saw all the episodes. And I do fancy DC League of Superpets.
