Had an interesting thing happen this weekend. During an update to my PS4, I received error message su-30746-0 which seemingly bricked my PlayStation. With a few troubleshooting techniques, I was able to determine what the issue was.

Completely forgot bout USB in the back. Even though it was super dirty taking everything out and only using the back port. Control worked immediately but I would of never done that without your video thank you so much

Thanks for this great video! Even with this info., I had such a hard time fixing this at first - only to find out I was using charging cables - right plug sizes, but the cables weren't able to handle data. I found an old Turtle Beach USB cable, and that worked perfectly.

OMG, your video was very helpful in a way! My controller wasn’t connecting and I don’t have much cords so I knew I was fk’d. But I just held down the power button and it bypassed this message and connected plus turned on :)

This works in 2022, also a reason it may only work with some cords is the same reason some iPhone chargers don’t work unless they have a chip in the end that verify its a genuine product and ps doesn’t want a shitty cable plugged into it

This worked perfectly for me, like you I tried everything and it didn't occur to me that it would be the cord itself causing all the issues, but after changing out the cord I was able to get to the safe mode menu screen

Any thoughts on a controller flashing solid white during normal function?
It works fine in safe mode and when connected to a PC, but will not respond during normal function though it is seen as paired on the Bluetooth devices menu.
I've tried resetting the controller, tried different cables, definitely data ones, cleaned out the unit and the controller itself, even did a full system reset and update, basically everything short of replacing the Bluetooth receiver in the PS4.
That's unique. If it works in safe mode (via connecting using cord) but doesn't work wirelessly, could be the controller. Does it work in normal mode with the cord attached? Is it an aftermarket controller? Do you just have that one controller? If not, does another controller respond the same way?

I tried several different usb cables, and on a blog a guy said to change the hdmi port that was connected. I don't know what the relationship is, but it worked perfectly, my controller started working again in safe mode using the same cable that came with the console 8 years ago. I hope it helps

@@SageTheProfessor Yes, as I understand it, it said it was being recognized, but due to some corrupt data in the system, the video on the screen did not change, then when I changed the hdmi to another input on the tv, it sent the information to the screen that it recognized the dualshock 4
