Prior to starting the video, I was scrolling through the comments and got the overwhelming feeling that all the praise was quite possibly BS, but after first rebuilding database (and getting stuck in a safe mode loop which I thought meant that no database rebuilding was possible) and then restoring to default settings, I was able to salvage the entirety of system (including captures, installations, and saves) with the help of both your advice and backing up everything into the PS+ cloud. Thank you!!! I nearly had a heart attack, lol.

Don't recommend this video at all, He said clearly in the video that initialize PS4 would reset all data, but the option number 4 resets data as well, I tried the first option multiple times just kept on restarting and giving me the same screen so I decided to go with Option 4, Option 4 is not safe. Credibility of this video cannot be trusted. Just a warning to you all.

The update made my ps4 laggy af. Even if i play cod mw the graphics is like im playing on a potato computer but not laggy. Edit: if you have the error, that means you have a faulty HDD. Which can make files corrupt. Fix: Replace the HDD.

Thanks a lot, this video worked for me. I didn’t even have to rebuild database. I just did restore default settings and I was able to get back in. It made me log in to PSN again afterwards but other than that it saved me from having to do a complete clean install. For some reason I was stuck on a loop that kept saying “A serious error occurred in the system software” after I accidentally unplugged PS4 from outlet. It would go into safe mode after restarting and kept looping into the same error. I thought my PS4 was done for lol can’t thank you enough.
@@moroccod6152 No, I didn’t lose anything. This will only restore your settings so you should be good. You’ll need your PSN login again but that’s about it. If that doesn’t solve your problem then you might have to do a clean install but that WILL erase everything.
@@moroccod6152 No, you shouldn’t lose anything when it comes to games. The only settings it should reset is your PlayStation settings. It won’t mess with your games or saves or hard drive. That should all be good. I did a “restore default setting” and only the PlayStation settings were reset so I had to log in again because it didn’t remember my username or password as it was part of settings to remember that stuff. It might also make you reset time and location but as far as games, everything was the same for me. Nothing lost.

The problem I am running into is that when I’m on safe mode, I try to connect my controller with a usb but it wont work. My controller blinks once then gooes back to orange like it never connected, I need help to have the ps4 recognize my DS4
ropizny I had this issue as well, and turns out certain USB cables only charge, and don’t transfer data. You need to use a USB that will transfer data. Try to use the USB that came with the controller or something similar. This worked for me

If you care about what is saved in your capture gallery, restoring default settings will delete everything in your capture gallery. Rebuilding database doesn't do that delete capture gallery videos or screenshots.

I did the restore default settings, it will delete your account off your PS4 but as long as you remember your email and password you can log right back in. If you gameshared any games with anyone you will lose those games but can always just redownload them.
This fixed the serious error thing when I restored default settings, but now I get error code CE-32911-6 which won't let me accept the user agreement. Any ideas?

I can’t even get that to show up , and no it’s not the HDMI cable that’s the issue. I can occasionally get the safe mode screen and then it just ends up back at the system software error screen .

Nope. Clicked 4. Took off all profiles on the system. Had to make new ones and log back in them. We thought everything worked and things were good for a second till we got into one of the games and saw that the LOAD option was not available. Thing is, we didn't save into the cloud. But it's not like we could have. We couldn't get into the system homepage. Literally all it showed was the Error pop up, and the Safe Mode page.

This totally worked I'd recommend just doing #4 when it keeps restarting to safe mode.

I did the 5th one after my PS4 started crashing and freezing at some points. I play fortnite so when I started it the PS4 crashed and when I turned it on again it showed some software problem. I panicked and fell to the floor.
