Yeah, but FIA was ordered to push another driver..... you know, the one claiming to be the first one from the working class.

@@kahnbr you didn't know that? Compared to Michael and Fernando, Lewis came from the richest family. His dad was an IT manager. He was earning a lot. They invented a story that his dad "had 3 jobs in parallel". And later they even upgraded it to "4 jobs". I expect it to be "5 jobs" next year. But when you ask which were those jobs, there's no answer. Because it's just a story for the media. While MSC and Alonso really came from working class. Brick layer and miner. Doesn't go lower than that. But unlike LH, neither MSC nor Alonso found it tasteful to brag about it. However, the one who came from the upper middle class is constantly bragging about being from "working class". I guess to make himself look better.

I'm 53, been watching this sport since the seventies, 40+ years... to my mind, Schumacher was the best. Absolutely the best.. Senna was the peoples champion, and rightly so, but Schumacher was so supremely talented that it's hard to argue with him being the greatest of all time... any weather condition, any tyre condition, if the car still moved he had it taped, even being stuck in 5th gear ffs... the rainmeister they called him... When Schumacher was in his prime, he could do anything, anything at all, he could do magic and often did. Keep battling Michael... we won't forget you...

I think he needed to be more "tough", in the sense of imposing himself, saying: I know my potential and I will fight for my space. That was what Senna did at McLaren and there was no 1st or 2nd driver between him and Prost. It was the two of them fighting for every inch.

Schumacher went from a team he won 2 titles in a row with, to a team that hadn't won in the sport for over 2 decades. He helped to build the foundations of that team over the next 3 years and then went on to dominate with that team for the next 5 years. He helped and was a crucial part in building their success.
He also came out of retirement and helped developed Mercedes into what they are now before Hamilton took the seat He was in. Brawn himself said Schumacher had an immense and crucial part to play in developing the car and team into what it was to dominate the sport with Hamilton at the wheel.
Schumacher has and always will be the greatest F1 driver the sport has seen, alot don't like him, but anyone with common knowledge of F1 won't dispute that. Hamilton is a great, that can't be disputed. But he is not the greatest of all time.
Love or hate him, Schumacher was the greatest.
Oh to answer about others with poor equipment, Schumacher also has the most wins in a non championship winning car even though he has less wins than Hamilton, further proof Hamilton is only great with the greatest car against the other greats records.

Coming from family having no money to buy him into racing, it was his pure talent and his hard work. His determination and his technical and engineering knowhow where the keys, because is was so much involved in developing and tuning the cars, like no one before. People say, that he all the attention in the Ferrari team and that it wasnt fair, but it was Michaels success to bring Ferrari back to a wining team having a winning car. He took the risk anf joined Ferrari, when there was no success for many many years. He contributed his knowledge and formed a succesful team for many years. It was all his success. One of the biggest compliments I ever heard, came from Gerhard Berger. When Michael went to Ferrari, Gerhard joined Benetton and sat in Michaels car for his last season. Gerhard therfore was a very experienced driver and he once admitted, that he barley was able to control or tune this car. It was so hard to drive that he had to took his had off to Michael driving this car at the limit. We will never know, what 1999 would have been or what would have been, if he stayed just one more season. With all he was as driver, he was outstanding

The truth about Schumacher needing his teammates to sign #2 driver contracts so they weren't allowed to beat compete against him on a level playing field had been leaked. His whole first career is based in a lie:
"At the time I handled people like Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jean Alesi, and every time we went to sign a contract with Michael Schumacher or Ferrari it always had conditions in it" - Eddie Jordon.
"Whether I signed with Eddie Irvine, Rubens Barrichello or whoever they were - there was a clause there that they always had to play second-fiddle to Michael Schumacher.' Eddie Jordan
"I had an opportunity to go to Ferrari but the contract that was offered by Jean was that if Michael was 5th and I was 4th, I had to move over, and, if I was 1st and he was 2nd, I had to move over.I couldn't sign a contract that committed me to being a #2" - David Coulthard.
"Ferrari, the contract that was offered effectively made me, on paper, number two to Michael. I've no doubt that Michael was the stronger driver out of the two because I recognise he was a better overall package than I was but at that stage of my career, I just couldn't accept signing a number two contract and that's why I decided to sign at McLaren and I think that was the right decision for my career." David Coulthard.

If Schumacher accepted the offer from dominant williams in 1996 and took the “easy way”, he would have more titles, instead of this he went from a team he won 2 titles in a row with, to a team that hadn't won in the sport for over 2 decades.
Oh to answer about others with poor equipment, Schumacher also has the most wins in a non championship winning car even though he has less wins than Hamilton, further proof Hamilton is only great with the greatest car against the other greats records.

In 2006, his engine gave up while leading the race prior to finale in Brazil, robbing him of potential season victory. Everyone in his team was so dejected but he came to the paddock and was cheering them up. I was so shocked pleasantly ... in his final race year back then ... he was so unaffected by cruel luck. The man shaped and revived Ferrari. They touched the heavens with a kind of success no one had ever seen before. Now, everytime we associate 'Ferrari' with the pinnacle of motorsport, with this powerful, legendary team, it is because of him. For what we're seeing now, and according to such big names as Ross Brown and Toto Wolff, he was crucial in laying the foundations of Mercedes' current success, the most dominant team in the last decade. His work ethic, absolute professionalism, perfectionism and atention to detail changed F1 forever. His amazing, incredible talent, pace, determination, commitment, competitiveness, pure desire to win, made him (as I read in another comment) the epitome of a champion.

You can say what you like about Michael Schumacher, people call him a cheat but all he did was attack and defend aggressively, which if you look back through the history of f1 they all did it from fangio, Clark, senna,Prost it’s called racing, look at other motorsports where they constantly barge each other off the track like touring cars or the gt series. Michael Schumacher was one of my heroes and it’s so sad what happened to him because he is without doubt one of the greatest f1 drivers ever,I know he won his last 2 titles quite comfortably but the 97/98/99/00 seasons he shouldn’t have even been in contention really as the Williams in 97 and mclaren in 98/99/00 was a far superior car but that’s what he did,he won when he shouldn’t because he was an absolute master of getting every last thousandth of a second out of the car. If Lewis Hamilton beats all his records which could happen,I still believe in the same car there’s no one to touch Schumacher,he’d wipe the floor with all of them...keep fighting Michael 🤞👍

Their number 4 moment, Schumacher’s win at Hungary in 1998, was the best race craft I’ve seen in my entire life. Brilliant call strategically from Ross Braun, and then what were essentially qualifying laps for almost the entire race from Schuey. I think he even had an off at one point, because he really was on the edge every single lap. McLaren were so ridiculously superior to everybody else at the beginning of that year. If my memory is correct, David Coulthard won the first race in Melbourne, by lapping every single car except his teammate, Mika Hakkinen. The devolopment of the Ferrari that year was nothing short of astonishing, and evidence of how Schumacher was the greatest, not only for what he could do on the track, but also for how he could develop a car and galvanize a team. That performance in Hungary was was the absolute epitome of the brilliance of Ross Brawn and Michael Schumacher. I’m so thankful to have witnessed it.
