People say the Schumacher dominance era was boring but the races were actually really enjoyable. They were more 'organic' and drivers were having close battles up and down the grid. The Red Bull and Mercedes eras have been genuinely boring because drivers can't race close to each other for more than a couple of laps and even then, they push a button when they want to overtake, and half the time it ends a crash.

The greatest F1 car ever made, driven by the best driver in F1 history. No other car has set records that stood for so long. Even the mighty MP4/4 was three seconds off the pace of its successor on some tracks. And the 2016 Mercedes was even further off due to the 2017 regulation changes.
Ferrari in 2004: We’re too fast and this can’t be true. 2019: We’re fast in testing so we’ll be fast in the season and when things go wrong well we were still quick in testing
It’s always been a pet peeve of mine when people always spew out that Ferrari/schumi dominated 2000-2004. 2000 and 2003 came down to the last race and 2001 had multiple winners and multiple pole sitters. 2002 and 2004 we’re dominant. Hell ..... 2002 Juan had a ton of impressive poles. Enjoyed the video.
2001 was dominant. Schumacher had 9 wins and the next best was his brother (lol) with 3. Poles don't mean much if you can't win (or even finish) the race. 15 wins out of 17 in 2002 is almost as dominant as a team can get.

The 2005 rules were indeed to bring an end to Ferrari domination, and it was the right call just like in 2009, now the FIA doesn't seem all that interested in putting an end to the V6 hybride embarrassing era for F1. Ferrari wasn't all that dominate, in both 2000 and 2003 McLaren was so close, the same goes for Williams, for one simple reason back then teams could develop their cars not like now when basically they are all stuck, Mercedes got lucky with their engine design the others weren't allowed to develop theirs, and this year the rules essentially eliminated the last weakness of the Mercedes namely tyre temperature.
You can't really complain when Ferrari keeps blocking everything the FIA does to try to even the playing field. The FIA needs to stop budging to Ferrari demands every time they *threaten to leave the sport* and just do what's necessary to bring some type of parity to F1. That was a cheap win for Alonso and Renault in 2005 as FIA did everything they could to stop Ferrari from winning. And then some idiotic clowns still dare to claim that FIA favors Ferrari lol.
You have it the other way lol. It was Ferrari who cheated and lied their way to get Renault out. Michael parked his car in Rascasse and denied Alonso the pole.
A faster car despite some regulation changes (I remember in 2004 the rear wings only had 2 planes instead of 3 used before, also only 1 engine per driver per weekend).
The 04-08 are the best looking cars of the 00's. The 2017 car is an improvement on the disasters that was the 12-16 designs but it looks too clinical for me.
By that time, it was consensual to say that the car had been designed around the new incoming Bridgestone tyres (and a little headstart...), and that made for all the difference in performance... So in a way, it was a different type of thinking + It takes someone like Schuemacher to take advantage of it. I remember Raikonnen (?) throwing his chances of winning the Drivers championship, while leading the race ! Like Verstappen today, Michael new his tyres better than anyone else on track. It wasn't just the car that was amazing, but the team effort-spirit and atmosphere in the pits, between Schumacher and the mechanics. Something you will never see between Hamilton and Mercedes.
Technically Alonso didn't end anything in 2005. He got lucky Kimi's McLaren kept failing, Kimi also beat Michael in 2005 in the final standings. @tubehows4life you do know he beat all of the drivers you mentioned right? And he almost won a championship in the 4th best car if michael shumacher didnt give seb a free championship? I think you'll find that technically he did. The word technically means according to the facts, try looking it up in the dictionary. The facts show that technically Alonso won the 2005 (and 2006) title and that Raikkonen technically won the 2007 title.

Not a single domination afterwards has struck such cultural impact. Not Alonso, not Vettel, not Hamilton. Schumacher to F1 is what Jordan is to Basketball. The ultimate icon and face of the sport.
Couldn’t agree more
People say the Schumacher dominance era was boring but the races were actually really enjoyable.
They were more 'organic' and drivers were having close battles up and down the grid.
The Red Bull and Mercedes eras have been genuinely boring because drivers can't race close to each other for more than a couple of laps and even then, they push a button when they want to overtake, and half the time it ends a crash.
that's why I've been enjoying MotoGP these days, each day, always some rookies in privateer teams trying to gunning down Marquez and the Factory Ducatis
Some years, some races were really boring. 2002 and 2004 had their lots of really boring races...
I disagree, seeing the title wrapped up in July wasn't exciting. Although if you're a Ferrari fan you must've had an amazing time. For everyone else there just wasn't any point. In 2002 and 2004 I'm talking about. 2003 was really close, wanted raikonnen to win that year
2012 championship was one of the best of all time ffs. way better than any ferrari era championship
Wot? Mentioning Red Bull era (7 different winners in 7 first races of 2012...) and Mercedes scam in the same sentence is proof of IQ room temperature, especially seeing Red Bull had even more drastic changes thrown at it to kill their cars than 2004 Ferrari in the video, yet Mercedes gets nothing...
The greatest F1 car ever made, driven by the best driver in F1 history. No other car has set records that stood for so long. Even the mighty MP4/4 was three seconds off the pace of its successor on some tracks. And the 2016 Mercedes was even further off due to the 2017 regulation changes.

Aston Martin, Porsche and Lamborghini went to negotiate simplification changes. Guess who blocked it. 😂

You can't really complain when Ferrari keeps blocking everything the FIA does to try to even the playing field.
The FIA needs to stop budging to Ferrari demands every time they *threaten to leave the sport* and just do what's necessary to bring some type of parity to F1. Money distribution based on *merit* would be a good start.
But ferrari have had a faster engine this year. How can they put an end to v6 hybrid, should they go to 4 cylinders or all electric?

@@hsghanau94 Not really. Even Brundle at the time said it was the mark of an all time great driver than Kimi did that. The most impressive thing about Kimi that season was, that he outperformed the car in massively in qualifying, and usually, drivers go back down the field, after outperforming a car in quali. But Kimi didn't he somehow made up ground or kept position. Which is seriously hard to do. Imola 2003, Monaco 2003, Nurburgring 2003 all come to mind. By that time, it was consensual to say that the car had been designed around the new incoming Bridgestone tyres (and a little headstart...), and that made for all the difference in performance... Fernando isnt overrated because if the engineers say he has a bad car and they say he was preforming outstanding every race then enough is said. Hamilton and button are also great drivers so saying that fernando isnt special for beating them is foolish. Lewis is a 5 time wc and jenson is a 1 time wc and fernando beat them.
I think you'll find that technically he did. The word technically means according to the facts, try looking it up in the dictionary. The facts show that technically Alonso won the 2005 (and 2006) title and that Raikkonen technically won the 2007 title.
