@@Almcingrid3663 I stand corrected, I was wrong I've listened to these guys since "city of evil",and I had seen pictures of the two when they we're like kids.."kids". So I figured they we're actual brothers. Didn't know he dated and married his sister.
I'd love to see you're reaction to "Sister Rosetta Tharpe". She is considered to be "the godmother" of rock and roll. Recorded from the 30s until the 60s. Amazing women.
I had to stop playing your reaction to this song. I will come back to it when I can gather my emotions up. This is my song for my Mom God rest her soul. Your heartfelt genuine reactions I just know I will start crying so I'm gonna finish this soon. Thank you so much
You're not the only one who cried to this. I've cried to this multiple times and it still makes me upset when I listen to it. The Rev was one of the greatest drummers, RIP #foREVer
Another song by them you may want to react to is Fiction. The Rev wrote this and gave to to the band along with his demo lyrics three days before he died. The song was originally meant to be called Death but they changed the name to Fiction which The Rev had tattooed on his chest. They also used his demo lyrics along with the singers on the song. The lyric video has his lyrics in red.
As one of Jimmy’s old friends, I can tell you he was a beautiful soul, there doesn’t go one day where I don’t think about him. God bless your soul Jimmy we all miss you so much and we’ll see you on the other side.
I don't believe you understand how lucky you are to have actually known Jimmy and call him your friend. I cry every single year on his death day. Breaks my heart to have lost him.
He was more than a brother to them. They loved one another and connected more than they did with their own parents. This is the definition of losing a piece of yourself. They actually short term disbanded to recover. None of them spoke to the other. I'm so glad they are persevering.
This has been one of my favorite bands since I was 12 (I'm 32). I grew up with this band from their first album through middle school, highschool, college, and into my adult life. I met Jimmy about a year and a half before his passing at one of their concerts in Providence. This band has meant so much to me for so long. His death hit me hard. This song hit's hard. Especially now, as my family is reeling from the loss of our beloved aunt. She passed yesterday from complications from covid. She was only 54, and this song is helping me to process my feelings. I love this song so much, but it has taken on a new and more personal feeling for me. For those of you new to this band, I recommend checking out the song Saint James. It's kind of a follow up to this song. While So Far Away speaks of their own challenges in living their life without their band mate, and childhood best friend (they've all been friends since they were kids), Saint James is a fun and upbeat song that honors who he was while he was alive. Definitely worth checking out, and Joy-Jean, definitely worth a reaction video. RIP Jimmy, and RIP aunt Jodi.
This song (and many others) has gotten me through so much loss in my life. 5 Best Friends, 2 Murdered, 1 Drug overdose, 2 natural causes. Both my mother and father to cancer and my 8-year-old nephew to a seizure. While death is a natural part of life, there is no greater pain you'll ever feel in it. For all those who have lost someone they love, just know that while they are no longer physically here, they are and always will be with you. In moments of questions and doubts in my life, I still hear all the voices of those I've lost. Sometimes it's encouragement, sometimes it's reminders of lessons taught/learned, and sometimes it's comfort.
This was the most emotional and saddest song in rock/ heavy metal history. This song was written for their drummer Jimmy “Rev”Sullivan who pass to young. This was an hard song at the time and it still is. One of the best song they every wrote. M.shadow vocal are perfect and lyrics is deep and is saddening. One of the greatest song by them. What a reaction and to tear up in this song is the normal reaction. This was amazing video and I love the video
Synyster Gates, the lead guitar player, originally wrote this song for his grandfather that passed away but after The Rev (drummer) died they rewrote a few of the lyrics and recorded it for him.
this was A7X’s guitarist Synyster Gate’s tribute to the Rev, Synyster wrote this song. The vocalist Matt Shadow’s tribute to the Rev is the song Victim, which Matt wrote. You should listen to Victim if you like this. Victim is so emotional that they have never performed it live still
Lost my best friend July of last year suddenly. This song hits really hard, especially not having a chance to say goodbye. Things left unsaid that can never be said...
"When a person who gave you the best memories, becomes a memory." This......... this hits me hard.... I lost my mom January 22nd, 2022, and the amount of times I wake up and expect to see her, even over a year after the fact, only to remember she's gone..... I'd give anything just to hear her voice again.
It must have been so hard to make this video. You can see how hurt they are. The scene in the end where the rev is spinning his drum stick to the huge crowd will always be amazing
The line "I'll see you when he let's me" is what destroys me everytime if you have ever lost anyone you love this will kill you emotionally never fails to make me cry
You don't have to be sorry for being emotional. We all went through this, even on THAT day, so we all get it. Great reaction. I believe this song was literally in the process of being written right when Jimmy died, so it wasn't originally about him. It was about the lead guitarist's, Brian "Synyster Gates" Haner, grandfather, hence the line "Your pain is gone, your hands are tied." HOWEVER, I believe the lines "I love you. You weren't ready." were added, along with other things, after Jimmy passed. Also, I believe the lead singer, Matt Shadows, and Jimmy were best friends before they even met Brian, Zacky (rhythm guitarist), and Johnny Christ (bassist), so, whenever Matt sang those lines...my god... You could feel the pain in his voice. Sorry for the rambling.
I'm replying right now as you pause the video.. and all I think is you best prepare your self for the acoustic section followed by the solo and vocal pain!!
Wonderful and emotional reaction to a song that I didn't expect... talking about emotional reactions : Please, please, please... react to Aurora - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen), I swear, you'll be mesmerized. She wrote this song at the age of 9 years and the lyrics are so deep and meaningful. You will love everything about this video... the singer, the song, the lyrics, the setting, the instrumentation, the venue... simply everything... I promise you that. Best wishes from Germany : Gerry
Don't be sorry for tearing up. You said it yourself, and we've all suffered loss or will at some point a good friend of mine passed away in November and this hit hard but songs like this are created from emotion and therefore meant to invoke emotion.
This is an especially tough listen, I think, due to a mix of knowing what it's about, and the fact that it's wrote in a way that everyone can relate it to someone they lost.... also Gates plays some of his most tasteful lead work, end you can pick up heavy emotion out of it..... it kind of reminded me of classic Slash.
I hope you don't mind me listing some for you. Always by Atlantic Starr. Dream Weaver is a strange song. How deep is your love by Bee Gees. Save the best for last by Vanessa Williams. DUST in the Wind by Kansas. And by England Dan and John Ford Coley Nights are forever. And last song Must of been love by Roxanne.
I've lost 2 friends to over doses,4 friend to being shot and killed by someone's hand,it all hurts, but the ones that hurt most are my boys from the pills,we tried to give them hlep, but once someone checked out and they don't care anymore sadly there isn't anything you can do
Empress another great reaction....Nice Song....Can you please do a video reaction to the song Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin....It's a great song......Thank you and have a good day
You never have to apologize for being human.
These guys have been best friends since they were about 13. This song is such a beautiful tribute to Jimmy.
Their real life brother's, by blood. A little bit more than "best friends "
@@timshannon3197 no they aren't. M. & Syn are brothers-in-law

You are are a sweet, tender soul Empress! That’s why your emotions came out so quickly! Don’t be sorry for that! 😊🌹🌹🌹
Agreed. Some people feel everything so deeply, Empress is such a soulful and sweet lady x
ive cried to this song multiple times. Thanks for uploading!
Yeah, me too.
I had not heard this song before !
My youngest son is no longer with us so this hit home !

I cry everytime i hear this. We can’t even cover it because all i do is think of Jimmy (the Rev) Sullivan.🖤😞🖤😢🖤😞
