The singing at 2:07 is the drummer. That is The Rev, he has sadly passed in 2009 only a few days before 2010. He was one of the best drummers to walk this planet.
the really cool thing about A7X is that they evolve with each album they make. they dont make music to just fit into a genre they push themselves creatively and it really shows in their music. honestly all of their albums are really great pieces of art, but nightmare and the stage have some of their best work!
The drummer on this album was Jimmy “the rev” Sullivan, commonly referred to as one of the most creative metal drummers oat. He’s up there with goats like neil peart and danny carey. I’ve been playing drums for about 15 years and he’s still one of my biggest inspirations. Dude was a beast on the kit
the way you saluted during the little speech on Critical Acclaim 2:42 😂😂 "Im still getting used to the vocals lol" shoutout to people in chat who dont love, it but they're still respectful and giving it a chance. Thats rare nowadays, putting in effort to enjoy music outside of one's comfort zone
I'm glad you loved it, they're my favorite band ! What I love about Avenged Sevenfold is that each album is unique ! maybe you should go for Nightmare next ? it's the album that realised right after this one it's a really emotional album : the drummer passed a couple of month before the release what's beautiful is that his idol, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater's drummer) did the final takes based on his demos for him ! it as their best song imo : SAVE ME
Almost Easy was originally made for the 2007 Transformers movie, but it wasn’t done so it made the soundtrack but not in the movie. So you were kinda right about it lol
Damn you should really check out their whole Live in the LBC show to see how insanely talented they are. The show is from this same era of Avenged and includes their original drummer The Rev just a year before he passed
A7X has been my favorite band since their first album, STST ... every album is different. It's like having 10 different bands in one. Makes my heart happy to see a young man (I'm 57) discover them. Enjoy the fucking ride that is A7X
One of my GOAT bands, this album is peak, came out day before my birth. One of best metal bands, also R.I.P The Rev, he was GOAT of writing music and performing. ❤
Edit 2: If u loved this then would recommend, The Poison- Bullet For My Valentine, As Daylight Dies-Killswitch Engaged, Or vascailly sny other Avenged Sevenfold album
The drummer for Avenged Sevenfold was Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. He wrote a lot of the bands music on his own but this was the last album he recorded in the studio for the band. He passed from an accidental drug overdose on December 28th 2009. Not only was he an insane drummer but he also did vocals for a lot of the songs. (On this album you can hear him most in Afterlife, a little piece of heaven, scream and critical acclaim). He did those vocals live while drumming and without struggle. He drummed for most of his life and honestly he’s one of the best drummers of all time. He recorded demos for their next album (Nightmare) but he died before he could record in the studio. The drumlines he wrote are still on the album as they were recorded by One of The Rev’s favorite drummers: Mike Portnoy (from the band Dream Theater). Mike is also insane on the drums and like.. better than the Rev tbh.. but Mike played what The Rev did on the demos. The Nightmare album has a few songs dedicated to The Rev. Fiction (Nightmare album) was the last song the Rev recorded (not in studio). He finished it up and passed away 3 days later. There’s a bunch more details in what I wrote but I realized this comment is already way too long
I love how shaken up he is after listening to Afterlife. Then Gunslinger starts playing and all I could think of was "oh boy doesn't he have it coming"
Also, the album you reacted to still had the old drummer in it. The drummer died part way through writing nightmare. There’s some songs about him on there.
it’s always cool seeing ppl who usually wouldn’t listen to this sort of music actually enjoy it. A7X is and always will be my fav band. saw them live two summers ago!
I heavily heavily suggest that you watch the entire live at the lbc video, was one of their best performance live, everybody on the band was at their peak
16:15 that is absolutely my favorite thing that i watch for, when a non-rock/metal reactor realizes that the other instruments are doing more than just sounding good or going wild. A good guitar solo is another verse of a song, just no words and instead speaks purely to the heart and soul
Yo thanks for checking out A7X they are amazing it's awesome to see a reaction from someone who's never heard them. Makes me remember the first time I got into them
3:18 Avenged Sevenfold falls into MULTIPLE categories. Every album is influenced by different artists. They are Nu Metal, Metal, Emo (early 2002), etc,
“What goes through their head when they’re making this?” Luckily there’s an hour-long behind the scenes video of the making of this album on RUclips :)
34:57 someone needs to correct dillumpp. Nightmare was the last album released before The Rev passed away. About 90% of the Nightmare album was completed by The Rev. After his passing, they invited Dream Theater's drummer, Mike Portnoy, to finish the drum parts due to The Rev's drumming style being heavily influenced by Portnoy.
PTV, Deftones, now A7X?? Fuck yeah, by far my fav reaction channel now. Maybe you’ll react to the whole live album they did at the LBC. It’s on Spotify, but there’s also an upscaled version of the entire concert it’s from on Spotify that’s a way better watch! Including their late drummer, the Rev, who did vocals in the live version as well! The Rev is responsible for the drum and piano parts! Imo a lot of the songs are better in the live version, especially critical acclaim!
Tbh this album is my fav album of all time The reason for that is that it shows how versatile this band IS Like you go from metalcore screaming to a fucking country song!! And i love that about this album and a7x!!
Should check out the Live in the LBC video. Afterlife is good, but live is WAY better - plus Second Heartbeat from WTF is their best song Should also check out the So Far Away music video. The guitarist was writing it for his grandfather who passed away and got the drummer to help while on tour. The drummer passed away before they finished, so the guitarist and vocalist finished it, changed some of the lyrics and dedicated it to him instead.
you need to react to their 2005 City Of Evil album. it's my favourite album cause it has groovy and heavy songs all at once, some of the transitions midsong on that album go stupid
bro you gotta check out Pinkly Smooth, The Rev and Synyster Gates' old band before A7X, it's got A Little Piece Of Heaven vibes all over it, also The Rev on vocals
You REALLY need to react to the music video to A Little Piece Of Heaven to truly appreciate the lyrics / art. Its... interesting & you'll think of the song in a different light. Loved your reactions my bro. Love from the UK.

Theyve got an album for everyone even the haters.
Nahh a7x prime is wtf to nightmare

Fun fact about "afterlife" is that one of the band members made the main melody for the chorus while he was drunk lol
wait fr?
@@chlaco2005 Yeah and i guess it was Jimmy xD R.I.P Jimmy

Yes man Save Me is my favorite too. I play Guitar and I knew I had to learn the song. I love playing and listening too it
Almost Easy was originally made for the 2007 Transformers movie, but it wasn’t done so it made the soundtrack but not in the movie. So you were kinda right about it lol
As Zacky said, "It Transformed into not being in the movie."
And Linkin Park did. Any of these bands if they did get it would have still been amazing. A7X and Linkin Park are powerhouses that make amazing music,
@@joshhanson6538 But Almost Easy was at least in Need For Speed Pro Street
Damn you should really check out their whole Live in the LBC show to see how insanely talented they are. The show is from this same era of Avenged and includes their original drummer The Rev just a year before he passed

The guitar solo in scream is one of my favourite solos. Just love that intro shred 15:37
you would love City of Evil, you should check it out. Avenged Sevenfolds best album, hands down.
I love how shaken up he is after listening to Afterlife. Then Gunslinger starts playing and all I could think of was "oh boy doesn't he have it coming"
