Original the Air Max TN was the Air Max Tine. The technology was called TN or Tune. I think it was 1997.
@Tony Bellew @Tony Bellew the top 5 I'd mostly agree with tbf, it's the latter of the list, mostly unknown and way out of touch sneakers that don't belong on here, namely the 180's, 93's, BW and the Burst, and i know they come with the attitude of it inspiring things we see now etc. But that's why they were better on the full top 20 list rather than being put onto this list

The BW Persian violet is to me the best Air Max of all time. In many countries of Europe, the term AIR MAX was literally confused with the BW. It remained as the Air Max undisputed staple during and way after the 95s and 97s came along.

I still rock my infrared 90s from the HOA pack in 05. I copped 3 pairs I remember them rotting on shelves for 50% off in footlockers

The TN's came out in '99. I wore them heavy in 12th grade. Also, my brother is a sneaker addict since '89. He has the original 1st pair of Jordan's crumbled up and refuses to discard them. If you're interested in chatting with him about his million dollar+ collection of originals and his passion for sneakers, please lmk so I can share his info privately with you. I love your series btw. Also, I was a die hard Blazer head until they started selling in Footlocker, etc bc they were boutique sneakers. I also was heavy into 95s until they changed their factory to China in like '09/10 and couldn't tell real from fake. Gr8 show!! Luv it!!

As a european milianial, it took me like 10 years to find out that TN's were even Air Max's. To me they were just their own thing, just Nike TN's..

@@dabear7862 11 years ago I bought my first pair. I was 16 years old bro, I was barely making any money and I wasn’t a sneakerhead at the time. I got a GR colorway from Footlocker. I bought it with my own money, so you wasn’t telling me shit. I treated them like they were dopest 90s ever 😂🙏🏼

Why are they so depressed ?!?
I was actually around when all of these came out originally and was luckily able to get most of them. My all time fav at the time was 97 silver bullet. They were so futuristic back then and still look amazing. 95 OG Volt and Air Max 1 OG Red round out my top 3.

How is the A180 beating the AM98? 😭 This list is flagrant. Unpopular opinion; light's and 90's (both in their old school shapes) are better than AM1's. If you see an Air Max illustration where 1 colourway is slapped on many an Air Max, you'll see which ones are really hitting, so yeah AM1's are overrated.
To each his own my g. Make your own list, and drop some knowledge.
@@skalawatz To have an opinion is fine, I got no qualms, but for a group of people to collectively decide the 180 is so high seems entirely baseless, especially when calling the list "the best Air Max's' instead of "Complex's favourite Air Max's". The comments section is here for a reason, it's as far as I need to go with the subject.

Great list! I read some where that storing sneakers with the paper accelerates the shoe breakdown. Apparently, the paper has an acidic quality to it.

5:13 - Ay Welty, ‘Tn’ refers to the ‘tuned’ air technology in the shoe. Its name is Air Max Plus, since there are other models that have tuned air too. Look at varpormax plus silhouette, it has a ‘Vm’ abbreviation

That neon green and grey 95’s are my all time favorite pair of shoes. I’ve had over 4 pairs that look exactly the same. Let’s not forget the dozens and dozens of other colors schemes I have.
