I respect Cimo's choice of deck, but i dont know if i necessarily agree with it
On the surface, i dont dislike this deck. But 1 Prep, 1 Benten, 1 Cyber Petit Angel is not where you wanna be
The Game 2 was also just horribly unfortunate. I dont see how Cyber Angel Herald ever comes back from Gameciel and Anti-Spell
i still like the progression series but in all honesty it doesnt hit anymore as it used to do.
the wheel is really bad. yes the first season wheel wasnt good either because it was usually just tournament packs but this seasons wheel is kinda ruined by the ban slot. bans are necessary to balance things but you shouldnt be able to get them as a winner reward. also i think its not well thought trough that you can just eliminate whole themedecks by banning 1 card. couldve done something like every non theme card can be banned, theme cards get limited or if limited can then get fully banned.
also and thats for me kinda the biggest issue with season 2: it doesnt feel like "progression" anymore. they often just bring janky decks, just throw different, the spirit of actually progressing got kinda lost imo. one factor in this tho is also their better access to cards / themedecks = yugioh over time evolving into themedecks so single non theme cards that actually make your deck better are less of a thing then / more difficult to open. imo they also opened way to many packs of some sets so cards dont feel special anymore.

Cimo just bricked Rituals are known to brick often though invest 2 card combo point is if they break your one summon or can't commit GG the only exception is possibly drytron!
As I saw Cimo's deck I was like "Welp this game is a wash"
Gage's too. He even said Yosenju was unplayable
I think the difference is Cimo's deck in it's current state just doesn't have the cards it needs to do much of anything at all without being extremely lucky, while gages deck actually has all the cards it needs to do what it's sapose to do reasonably consistently.

It’s a matter of ceiling vs consistency. Cimo’s deck is utterly horrifying if it can establish itself. Herald with 2 Fairies in hand can beat entire decks on its own assuming you don’t have Kaijus. The issue is half the time you end up with a hand like Game 1.
Gage on the other hand has a deck with incredibly consistent access to either Drident or multiple Yosenju’s, the issue is that’s… not very hard to deal with. If Cimo ran back something like Batterymen, Gage was cooked.

@@EpicKingofFail Insane decks in Duel Link are "modern" casual/pack filler archetype that got released into the game super early alongside decks from literally a decade earlier, its a big fish in a small pond situation.

Suggestion to make Cimo actually spend redo tickets:
You can spend 3 redo tickets at once to re-open a set and choose to keep your first pull or the new pull.
May actually cause Cimo to spend the tickets.

I dont think he's throwing i think he's just trying out new decks. Which is what a ton of people complained about they always commented about oh alex and gage are playing the same deck for 20 weeks in a row.
I think he's just trying to find out if he can add another deck to his arsenal... he should 100% pull out his best deck next episode or maybe he wants an unban so he just continues to test.

As soon as we get a repeat of season 1 with him winning most of the last ~3rd of the series , views will fall off ( and he has a tendency to kill off series he can't stream that hit under 50k / take time to produce ( Auction,History,Jank,OCG,Guess that card, Sealed, wouldn't surprise me if Arena is next honestly )

I 100% agree about MR4 being bad and stupid, but I think just not using it really goes against the whole spirit of "progressing" through the games history. Just like how they didn't use old Pendulum scales or even drawing on turn 1
It's not really fun to watch OR play though. Especially in a draft format where there's a distinct possibility that one or both get locked out of the Extra Deck entirely for the duration of the format because they didn't pull the correct generic Link-2 shitters for the rest of their deck options.

Its monster effect lets you target an opposing monster after you attack with a Performapal, to reduce the target's attack by the attack of the Performapal that attacked.
Barracuda's pendulum effect has the same condition as Ballad's, but reduces the opponent's attack by the difference between its original and current attack value. Its monster effect inverts that, allowing you to increase the attack of a Performapal by the difference between its original and current attack.
Suffice to say, they'd be much more memorable without the Performapal restrictions.

I did get a chuckle out of it literally being the "Herald of NOTHING, IDIOT" meme but for real.
You know, I think the bad sets might be the better ones to spend a redoer ticket on. Since there's only a handful of cards worth picking up, if you get none of them, a redoer ticket is a second chance at something. Even if it's a slim chance. But a good set? Much higher odds that your first pass got you at least a couple cards you'd miss if the redo doesn't refund them.
Or in other words, good sets have an opportunity cost that bad sets don't have.

21:40 you could grab the ritual off idaten Granted the most it would have done that game is bring out herald, but by that point, whiptailed drident was on the field. So gage would have attacked, banished herald (assuming that's not an activated effect) punched and Cimo would have 1 turn to do jack all since anti-spell is up.

So Cimo seems to have just not read idaten but it adds a ritual spell when summoned, so game 3 should have been summon senju search idaten. Prep for benten and then summon idaten with the machine ritual. That way on summon you would search for herald with benten and its ritual with idaten. Then you ritual summon the herald using the idaten and get ut back with the ritual spell passing with 3 negates. The deck was pretty good at the time, but safira was what helped it allot at the time

Not really. Cimo NEEDS spells for this deck to work. So it makes sense it is in there. He can't stop the first turn, but can stop any follow up plays.
@@mcpherson1222 Cimo didn't reveal his deck strategy at all Game 1. It's also still inadvisable to side in ASF going second against even spell-heavy strategies, because you still typically need the majority of your hand to break the board. Think Branded. Yes, if you break the board and flip ASF you're in a great spot against Branded but if you have ASF going second it means one less card to combat Mirrorjade, Gimmick Puppet lock, etc.

Honestly Wheel Spin and Pack Opening should be done a week in advance so that you guys have time to build with the new cards, because its been clear this season that you have decks prepared before the opening and it means you’re usually playing a week behind on the cardpool.

Before watching the games, Cimo really could have swapped at least one Senju for additional copy of the Cyber Petit Angel, since Dawn of the Herald requires exactly level 6 tributes

Cimo missed the idaten trigger to search a ritual spell AND didn't banish machine angel ritual to protect the stick from drident pop, which would have been quite relevant. & Then in the game 3, he didn't idaten/benten combo and instead went -2. Time to put down the ritual deck buddy.

There is a slight more consistent version of herald control by putting in metalfoes fusion and Dark world dealing to add more cards to hand

In game 3, Cimo got a huge misplay - on the summon of Manju, he should have search Idaten and then Prep for Benten (or vice versa). Then by activating MAR, he could replicate the combo in game 2 (i.e. ritual summon Idaten tributing Benten), getting himself a Herald and a Dawn (Idaten on ritual summon can search a ritual spell) for further play. Therefore he could have 3 nigates, a distruction protection and an additional 1k atk/def for Herald, which will bring him a much better position afterwards.

No, actually I think this was one of cimos worst episodes. But you have to ask: Did cimo secretly want gage to tie series again? If so, (I'm rooting for gage either way), but I think he made it too simple and easy. You couldn't have given him a little more of a challenge?
