I love how the Bandit Keith question is just "what do the Macho Man Randy Savage and Bandit Keith have in common?" with the IC title lmao. Very fun video!
8:35 in the manga/anime for duel monsters they could fuse ANY two or more monsters into something using polymerization, but as cimo points out thousand dragon was not summoned that way. Fun fact! The fusion summoning rule from the manga/anime was put into the early yugioh videogames like forbidden memories where you could just fuse anything together to create something.
Time Wizard was also considered a spell card in the manga, so even if it did combine with time wizard it would be closer to a ritual summon than a fusion summon

Regardless on whether or not they actually watched them.
Meanwhile I think the anime, while cool, has some serious flaws due to crunch culture resulting on contrived or repetitive duels and flat characters outside the chosen ones. Don't hate it though, in part because latinamerican dubs had actual quality standards in the early 2000's, unlike the english one who still struggle to make proper localization to this day.

The harpie lady sisters question made me just realize something. I knew it was 1950/2100 as a statline, but I just realized they did the same thing as with gate guardian where the stats are half of the sum of its parts. Regular harpie lady is 1300/1400, 3 of them would be 3900/4200, and half is 1950/2100

Wow I totally misinterpreted the last question until MBT clarified this at 45:21. Based on how the question is worded, I thought it was saying that Pegasus played all 4 of those cards, BUT one of those 4 received a printing on the TCG/OCG, thus making that 1 card not an anime exclusive.
Fun fact: since there's so many fun facts going around in this comment section already. The duel against Bakura actually happens before Duelist Kingdom. It was added in the anime because the entire game was skipped between episode 1 and 2. In the actual game from the manga they don't play duel monsters with Bakura, instead they play a fantasy TTRPG based on D&D that has more adversarial rules for the GM to treat it more competitively. In that version of the story, Bakura widdles and paints everyone wooden figures that depict them playing the classes they chose. He has an entire collection of figures that were brought to life by souls he's stolen solely so he can make his game more engaging. Things flow pretty similarly to the anime in terms of Yami Yugi taking control and saving everyone. Now for everyone curious, the classes were as follows: Yugi - Beast Master Jonouichi/Joey - Warrior Anzu/Tea - Mage Honda/Tristan - Magic Gunman
also regular bakura is a white mage, and in the toei anime, miho (a girl tristan has a crush on) played a merchant. At one point there was a trap that required them to roll a specific number to get out of it, and while in the manga it was just due to yami yugi rolling that number, in the toei anime miho had an ability to change the number rolled there because she was a merchant (miho was added into several season 0 episodes, some were original , others were based on the manga chapters, such as instead of having mokuba play a rigged game of capsule monsters with yugi, it's a guy who's obsessed with miho, and yugi steps in partway through the game)
@user-nm1eu1xu1j in the manga version Zorc also comes out as the BBEG. Honestly that arc is one of the best in the series in my opinion. It set a trend, alongside the original Shadi arc, of people with Millennium items seeking out of bumping into Yugi and challenging him to their favorite game, usually with their power affecting the game in some way. In a way, Pegasus continues this trend well since he's the creator of Duel Monsters, but Marik still just playing Duel Monsters is a little disappointing.
@@RedOphiuchus shadi wasn't "playing his favorite game", it was just a series of tests to see if yugi was worthy of the puzzle. As for Marik, by then the series had since transitioned to duel monsters because of how popular it was. if fans hadn't written in asking about it, duel monsters might have stopped being played after death-t.
Oh yeah, you’re right. I just double checked the episode listings and the Rebecca duel is right before they rescue Kaiba from the virtual world. Also it wasn’t just Duelist Kingdom’s “arc”. That was most of Season 1, but arc is not just another word for season. The virtual world and DDM do finish out season 1 but they’re post-Duelist Kingdom’s arc.
The reason DDM had colored dice is, in japanese version of the game, you could only use so many dice (15, off the top of my head) and only had 10 summons. And you have to roll a summon crest on the dice to summon a monster of the type.
PaniK is an editing mistake, not one on Cimooo's part. Cimooo never says PaniK is the correct choice, he says MBT is right. MBT said "gay clown", which is a YGOTAS meme name for the Kaiba impersonator, who Cimooo *does* akcnowledge is the third duel. It's a really easy mistake to make given how many times they say PaniK's name, but neither of them says he is the third duel.
Oh yeah you're right. He counted duke devlin and the virtual world as Duelist Kingdom, so of course rebecca counts too. EDIT: Another comment pointed out that the question says "Tournament", so Rebecca doesn't count.

Fun story: Celtic Warrior was and still one of my top fav yugi cards ever even that I grew up and knew it's useless, but that started because of this anime bullsh*t moment when he wanted to stop the attack and the Celtic Warrior obeyed and died.. as a kid I found that SO COOL and I was impressed by how loyal the Celtic Warrior was. xD
Absorb Spell in the anime was used to steal the ATK gain from Magic Formula equipped to Dark Paladin and apply it to Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, if I recall correctly.
Fun math nerd way of answering the Harpie Lady Sisters question. For some reason early monsters made up of other 3 monsters liked to add 50% to the base attack/defense values. Harpie lady being tripled gives her a 50% bonus to 1300/1400 stats for an end value of 1950/2100, gate guardian averages out the attack and defense values of the 3 pieces for 2500/2266.67 which when multiplied by 1.5 gives the weird 3750/3400 we got on the actual card, and blue eyes white dragon's 1.5 boost gives us the 4500 attack from the base of 3000, though it should have had 3750 defense instead of 3800 if the pattern held (but who wants 50s?).
17:17 Joseph quite literally goes “it can’t be panic I’m going gay clown” and they still light up panic for him as correct when he was talking about the Kaiba Doppelgänger 😂
I thought most evil questions to ask your next contestant on this series if you're going to do this again. How many times was 'pot of greed' actived in the duel monsters series?
I didn't think this was a stupid idea or a show Cimo, I personaly think this was awesome. Honestly out of the all of the well known YugiTubers I think MBT had the most chance of getting this questions right.
While I completely understand the circumstances of the “History of…” series not continuing. Poor viewership (comparatively to others series/videos) and an editor swap tend to bode poorly for a series. However, I think I share a sentiment that many others do in that there is very little that can fill the void of those shows. The “History of…” series served an important role of telling the story of this game we all love, through gameplay and through the excellent job both MBT and Cimooo did with deck previews and general background for that period of time. Losing that in the Yugioh RUclips space is really, really, a shame. No shade at all to Cimo, MBT, or anyone else involved but I want to recognize the importance of those series provided. You guys were doing a massive service to the community, and as a fan, I can only hope that those type of series that document our games history can continue.
The issue with the history of ygo and the history of jank is that the ocg one was just plain bad, and the tcg one was pretty much in modern history, so only jank was actually fun
History of something only makes sense to exist when there's a story to be told, as the replies already said history of TCG got to the modern era (though I personally would not mind seeing it continued since I joined very recently, so I missed everything up to 2022 or around that) and OCG is essentially the same except for the very awful beginnings, Jank was amazing but I think it should get rebooted into something else more similar to Jank Bank or just ignore the timeline altogether and jump through different time periods in no particular order
31:50 The terrain percentage wasn't about the field power bonus, it was about how the terrain arenas are spread throughout the Duelist Kingdom island. Like 40% of the mountain arenas, because I guess there were alot of arenas in mountains on the island. The power bonus was always a fixed 30% as long as your monsters match the terrain with their attribute. I think there was a video explaining about all of this, but the field power bonus wasn't intentional or if it was, the numbers were completely off and that's why all of the monsters affected by the anime always had weird stats in the actual game, like Dark Chimera 1710 attack.
Uh... Bandit Keith was only the US champion? He literally lost the intercontinental championship to Pegasus in humiliating fashion, that was his whole motivation for being at Duelist Kingdom.... This quiz did not start out strong lol
I think the dub does refer to him a few times as intercontinental champion. The whole thing mind you is a lot different from the Manga were Keife just was one of the best players at winning tournaments with huge win prizes up until Pegasus for a PR stunt humiliated him in front of the whole world.
Smh my boi Joseph got robbed on the surrender question, since Yugi also surrendered to Rebecca which happened between DK and the Dungeon Dice monster segment :V
They literally said that, your hearing comprehension is negative. The visual error is an editing error. If you were listening you'd know that Cimo explicitly said "correct"
The spell you guys were talking about was the double spell that used all of the spell cards from this or the previous turn, I don't remember Absorb spell increases your monster's attack depending on how much your opponent's monsters increased their attack, or something like that
18:54 in order by memory first duel weevil vs yugi , then joey vs mai, yugi vs mako then mokubu vs yugi , then yugi vs mimic of doom aka ghost kaiba , then joey vs rex , after that in-between duels mai vs panik and bakura vs yugi . Mai losses and Yugi duels panik to get mai star chips . Then joey vs bonz and later on the paradox brothers , seto kaiba vs yugi then etc
48:20 so funnily enough from what little I know of Yugioh Kaiba's Absorb Spell could only be used on a spell card that enhanced a monster's attack power or something, he'd use Absorb Spell and give that spell to his own monster. The only time I remember is when Kaiba battled Joey and Joey used Legendary Sword then Kaiba uses Absorb Spell to steal Legendary Sword and gives it to his Blade Swordsman or whatever his name is.
16:24 the last stars chip that yugi needed to qualify, he gets it when they beat it para and dox. After that fights kaiba when he already has all of them...
I was so sure the answer to the "how many surrenders happened" was going to count when Yugi surrendered to Rebecca, since the DDR question and the Dungeon Dice questions were included
I always wanted anime Duelist Kingdom Duel Monsters as a game, even if it could only ever be realized as a computer game with a lot of procedural generation (and a ton of random intentional stuff). Everything can be fused, you can do absurd card effect combinations, where you physically are can affect battles, cards have additional effects and interactions far beyond what their text implies, etc. A game where no one person can know everything and there is always the chance of finding new stuff.
If you ever plan on doing this again (and I certainly hope you do, I'd love to see Gage on this), aside from 50/50 and Discord-call-a-friend, you could add some other Lifelines so the contestant can have a chance at getting the more insane questions. Instead of Ask The Audience, they could do like a 'free google' where they can google the answer for 1 minute (for some of the crazier questions that's actually still hard). You could also add Flip where you switch the question with a different alternate question, and the contestant can choose which one they feel have a better chance of answering correctly. There's also Ask The Host, which allows you to give them a hint that they haven't already mentioned when they're thinking out loud.
If I remember correctly: absorb spell allows you to steal the effect of a spell your opponent activates. As an example: yugi activates the book of magical secrets on his dark paladin to boost him by 500, to which kaiba responds with absorb spell, stealing the 500 and giving it to his blue eyes ultimate dragon.
Kaiba used Absorb Spell in Battle city against Yugi. He uses it as a quick play to gain the effects of Yugi's magic fromula on Dark Paladin to power up BEUD
This is sending me down some nostalgia and somehow I knew most of these despite the last time I even watched any of Duelist Kingdom was 20 years ago lol.
As soon as MBT asked for the 50/50 right after narrowing it down to the 2 Red Eyes monsters I knew what was going to happen. Knowing the way Pegasus likes to toy with his opponents he was probably playing with elephants just to mess with Keith.
I think the point to a show like this is to remind the fans about interesting things about the anime, and many questions here fail to do that in my opinion.
funny mbt mentioned bakura ritual summoning zorc, because both the zorc card and ritual spell are based on the manga chapters where bakura debuted (zorc was the boss of the dnd stand-in they were playing, and the ritual spell is based on the panel where zorc removed his diguise to the players). also zorc's effect is based on how in that game, rolling lower was better for you and vice versa (rolling less than 10 was a crit, double zero was the best roll, and 99 was a fumble)
Bandit Kieth was not the intercontinental Champion. He was playing in the tournament for the intercontinental title, and lost to Sam(the kid), but Pegusus.

This was awesome. Thanks Cimoooooooo and MBT!!!!
I cannot BELIEVE Joseph missed the BLS mai question…..
I also got it wrong. I mixed up the Joey and Mai duel and thought Dark Sage beat Mai and BLS beat Joey
Yugi hamming it up and Mai's "Not him....." lives rent free in my head.
I thought mako summoned that whale ritual but that was probably battle city
@@jgamez106ye Fortress Whale is battle city
@@tpspeed honestly I'm convinced Mako summons Crab Turtle as well but I never watched the anime so I don't know at all. just would make sense to me.
17:17 Joseph quite literally goes “it can’t be panic I’m going gay clown” and they still light up panic for him as correct when he was talking about the Kaiba Doppelgänger 😂
Yugi fought Bakura before Panik though...
yeah, even Cimo said three names before Panik 🤔
it was a editing mistake MBT said Kaiba (doppelganger)
I thought most evil questions to ask your next contestant on this series if you're going to do this again.
How many times was 'pot of greed' actived in the duel monsters series?
The group call was gold, absolute gold
THE GROUP CALL SENT ME. That's a real 90s thing to do LMAOOOOOOO
I didn't think this was a stupid idea or a show Cimo, I personaly think this was awesome. Honestly out of the all of the well known YugiTubers I think MBT had the most chance of getting this questions right.
I feel validated knowing I got the DDM question right. That game had so much potential.
Where were those circumstances discussed? I don't remember hearing any discussion about that.
Surely calling every episode basically "This sucks, don't watch it" and half of the commentary being that had nothing to do with it.
Helped me as a returning player catch up on what I’ve missed and feel like more of a part of the community (understanding references and memes)
@14:50 Fun Trivia trivia: Harpie Lady Sisters' stats are 1.5x a normal Harpy Lady's 1300/1400 so 1950/2100.
What happened to history of ocg? Done or on hiatus?
Really wish he gave us an update
There's no history left man. They did it all
MBT said it was done on stream a few weeks ago :/
4:09 he said final answer c'mon man
I swear to god, MBT has that Peter Griffin look in the thumbnail
"I don't know how you came to right answer from the wrong information" because the answer key wrong
He said "tournament" instead of "arc" in that one question so Rebecca's duel doesn't apply.
Can we clip MBT saying “I’m not calling Gaia the fierce knight a bitch”
Bro immediately asked, "Is everything all right?"
A REAL FRIEND.
What happened with “The History of Ocg” videos? Will it ever continue?
17:50 Nope! Doppelganger was Yugi's third match. Look it up.
Aren't PaniK and the Doppelganger the same person?
@@eddmario No, Doppelganger Kaiba is not the same person as Panik.
They literally said that, your hearing comprehension is negative. The visual error is an editing error. If you were listening you'd know that Cimo explicitly said "correct"
@@jeremyvisser3877 You really came out here to reply to a 4 mont comment lmao. How pitiful your life must be
The spell you guys were talking about was the double spell that used all of the spell cards from this or the previous turn, I don't remember
Absorb spell increases your monster's attack depending on how much your opponent's monsters increased their attack, or something like that
18:54 in order by memory first duel weevil vs yugi , then joey vs mai, yugi vs mako then mokubu vs yugi , then yugi vs mimic of doom aka ghost kaiba , then joey vs rex , after that in-between duels mai vs panik and bakura vs yugi . Mai losses and Yugi duels panik to get mai star chips . Then joey vs bonz and later on the paradox brothers , seto kaiba vs yugi then etc
As a BLS fanboy, I ripped my eyeballs out and turned myself inside out at 3:16 ahhhh
Bring back the history of the ocg. Look, it's actually more entertaining once you get into some of the more crazy formats.
The Councel pulled up 😂😂😂
This was super fun!!
I'm so happy there was a Dungeon Dice Monsters questions, I had the gameboy game and the actual board game
Nice to see one of these again, The Duel Logs hasn't made one in a while
16:24 the last stars chip that yugi needed to qualify, he gets it when they beat it para and dox.
I love that it turned into a 3 way call.
38:25 that question was evil... you got me with that one ngl 😂
When he said Weevil and rituals I literally said a loud "what about the Javelin Beetle" and hearing Cimo say it I was pogging in real time
If I remember correctly: absorb spell allows you to steal the effect of a spell your opponent activates.
I win all my locals by using the Kaiba gambit.
i'm really gonna do it
19:02 WAIT WHAT? So D is correct but you say B is correct "the kaiba clone is his third opponent"
B was MBT's answer, and it is correct. D being marked as both chosen correct is an editing mistake.
J'attends avec impatience une suite sur le même concept avec l'arc Battle City !
Joseph drinking mate? My KING
Best YGO content creators united
This is sending me down some nostalgia and somehow I knew most of these despite the last time I even watched any of Duelist Kingdom was 20 years ago lol.
37:34 me at work, watching this video
Honestly I’m 3 minutes and I’m more than happy to get the bandit Keith question correct, everything else can be forgotten
These are literally the hardest questions ever and I’ve watched duel monster’s recently lol
As far as I remember Tea had two duels EVER. Also weirdly the best win ratio in the show.
The 2 serenaders you forgot was the digital world where Mia tech surrenders to Joey and yugi surrendered to Rebecca Hawkins
Most Yugitubers famously know sod all about the anime so this should be interesting.
Edit: Only DM S1? That's just as hilarious as it is tragic 😂
As soon as MBT asked for the 50/50 right after narrowing it down to the 2 Red Eyes monsters I knew what was going to happen. Knowing the way Pegasus likes to toy with his opponents he was probably playing with elephants just to mess with Keith.
I think the point to a show like this is to remind the fans about interesting things about the anime, and many questions here fail to do that in my opinion.
that phone a friend call was great
The way I got to 30% power bonus is remembering that Hercules Beetle and Cocoon of Evolution both start at 2000 def, but ended at 2600, hence, 30%
I knew literally none of this, but when you asked about Pumpkin, I instantly remembered Bonz saying 10%.
11:00 This reminded me of that Norm Macdonald clip from when he went on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire where this exact thing happened lmao
Believe it or not the Johnny Steps episode is one of my favorites. Print Heavy Metal King already, Konami!
funny mbt mentioned bakura ritual summoning zorc, because both the zorc card and ritual spell are based on the manga chapters where bakura debuted (zorc was the boss of the dnd stand-in they were playing, and the ritual spell is based on the panel where zorc removed his diguise to the players). also zorc's effect is based on how in that game, rolling lower was better for you and vice versa (rolling less than 10 was a crit, double zero was the best roll, and 99 was a fumble)
The coolest thing I got out of this video is that apparently Cimooooo is a DDR fiend. I'd like to see a video of THAT please!
That second lifeline was absolutely fantastic
Somehow got them all right. I write DM summaries for the yugioh wiki so I hoped I would know these but I’m surprised I didn’t slip up at some point.
Bandit Kieth was not the intercontinental Champion. He was playing in the tournament for the intercontinental title, and lost to Sam(the kid), but Pegusus.
