Whats funny is that firecacker is one of the very few cards that recoils on attack while holding a weapon resembling an RPG, when historically an IRL RPG is one of the only weapons that doesnt have any recoil.

Yh I’m gonna go ahead and admit that I play both of them evo. I finally stopped playing mega knight for like 2 weeks and then they handed out the evolution for free so it went straight back in my deck.
Me when firecracker first came out: “Oh no, there’s a megaknight coming, well, lemme just place down this pekka to counter him!” Opponent places firecracker down: “Oh hey, that’s the new card, wait why on earth is she doing so much damage to my crown tower!?”

This game has a lot of disagreeing opinions. Everyone hates different cards, usually depending on what they personally play. Yet firecracker has transcended beyond the realm of opinions. It might genuinely be the one of, if not, the only card to be completely despised by almost everyone who has ever played this game. New players hate it, "midladder" players hate it, top ladder, pros, youtubers, literally everybody except for that one loser who plays hog 2.5 with firecracker and eq, hate this card. I have yet to find a single person that unironically defends this card with something other then "well its free wins and I'M having fun".
i hate this card but i still play it because i am not a dumbass to not abuse it while in the trophy range where its most abusable. (also i spent my 6 hard months getting the shards for her and i am going to use it dammit)

The game should be designed/balanced in a way that all cards can work well and shine, but good luck fighting firecracker without arrows. I actually use Firecracker and it's really average to go against. I don't get why people argue on a card that can be countered easily if they properly knew what it can do, like a log with princess tower support CAN take out a firecracker.

dart goblin can’t reposition itself, hit backliners, survive a hit from backline hitters like bowler or log, deal splash damage, or completely change the way you defend a push
Firecracker is an "Arrows Check" card. If you don't have Arrows, you're gonna suffer immensely. Her recoil ensures most melee troops will never get to reach her before she's out of range. She can easily target towers and her recoil will send her back over the bridge -- out of your tower's range. This allows for a win condition to easily come in and be targeted by your tower instead of her. She pairs very strongly with win conditions to this day and is very versatile in nearly every deck I've seen. She pressures the opponent to either: 1) Use a card defensively for a likely negative elixir trade, or 2) Allow her to deal free damage to your tower while you build elixir. Coupled with double evolutions, there is no reason NOT to use Firecracker. Easy to use + difficult to counter = A card everyone hates.

It's just not the winrates and data analysis trimmed exclusively to the top 0.1% of competitive grinders. You always need to make sure your game is balanced in such a way that the entire skill progression and player seriousness curves are filled with good results. Unbalancing things at the top-level is bad for whales, lifers, and extremely vocal pros. Unbalancing things at the lowest level is bad for new player introduction. And unbalancing things at the mid-level is bad for, yaknow, NINETY PERCENT OF THE PLAYERS OF THE GAME.

Ive played the game since launch. Took a few years break between 2020-2024 and then came back, firecracker is no where near as annoying as 2016-2018 ebarbs rage
You know what? I'm fine with almost everything about the Firecracker. The range? Fair. The effectiveness at destroying enemy clusters? Fine. But what gets me is the FACT THAT IT PUSHES BACK WHEN FIRING. Even powerful singular units can get knocked down a peg by the constant pushback of the Firecracker and it drives me insane.
Pretty much all these videos about OP cards come down to. Card is alright to decent, and makes players use their brians, players get pissed and call for nerfs.

It's indeed one of the more interesting ones because it was for a while THE RNG card. The spawning distance has always been random and that, alongside the way it interacts with the king tower and poison, makes it a meta-defining card.

Basically, they are depending on a particle pattern that Is already pre-established on every game (It's always the same), only being different because It's player earlier or later every time.
It gets so much value off of a high HP tank that gets the aggro off of her. She’s constantly going backwards which gives her a lot of survivability to melee units. It’s like having to beat the back line of the assault first instead of the frontline.
Just use spells lil bro atleast you have a direct counter for it unlike evo pekka which is good against swarms and 1v1 or evo meganut which is just........ Uhm.... Fcking diabolical i'd say.

I swear this card would be fine and balanced if it just didn’t have recoil. I’ve placed troops to counter the firecracker and the recoil causes the troop to target a different thing. Spells which would have taken out the firecracker don’t because the recoil pushes it back out of the damage zone.
i remember when the firecracker was first released it was my favorite card b/c it was so fun to use and i was a major casual player. it was my first level 13, 14, and 15 card all when they were considered max level.
I find it really funny how, in the history of CR community, people have a mixed opinion on certain cards and decks like hog rider 2.6, mega knight, etc. But when it comes to firecrackers, everyone despises it in unison. Even midladders.
I see this card almost every game. I love it, i dont use it but its a fun little character. Reminds me of rambo if he was small and cute. Also, great useful card by kicking back and staying back to cycle another in is great use of that card too especially when it gets tower damage in.
Ive got to say thanks to you for bringing me back to Clash Royale. My friend was mentioning the game and your video just so happened to appear on my recommended (I think it was history of the ebarbs) and I’ve consistently been watching you since. The thing I find most interesting is how my perspective has shifted since I started watching (I initially was very much a midladder menace and didn’t agree with some of your takes but now I’d consider myself pretty good) and how much more I appreciate your videos after becoming more invested in the game (including statistics and data). I wish for you to continue to make these videos and to not stop because I constantly find myself rewatching these videos every couple months when I’m doing work and relaxing. Also please do a video on some card in Splashyard as that’s my main deck and I believe a history on the poison/graveyard/baby dragon/ice wizard could be very interesting.
So i dont play clash royale but i noticed a general mentality of hate against off-beat cards like spawners mirror and xbow. They should be completely valid cards that demand answers from your opponent. Every card should be that but instead the choice is to soft remove them from the game in its entirety which i find unfair tbh. Can someone explain to me where this mindset comes from?
If you want a real answer, it's because those cards don't have many answers to them outside of very specific cards. Having spawners or xbows be strong means everyone has to run those specific counters, leading to less deck variety.

Bro even top ladder has moments like that. The card isn’t broken, but we all agree it’s janky, which makes it annoying to deal with. It has an unbalanced stress because it’s as threatening as magic archer for far cheaper. And although arrows counters it (like how magic archer gets fireballed), you then have to deal with bait Good card, but magic archer isn’t hated as much because it’s not as easy to benefit compared to firecracker :/

Its an okay card. It has a low dps and low health for 3 elixir. Mind you lp has double health and its attack triples in seconds. Firecracker makes up for its ability to go back and its scattering effect which is what makes it OP.
Firecracker can be hated but as a user who has her at lvl 14 she rarely grts tower damage and if she’s played incorrectly the knock back forces her to switch lanes meaning the support troop for your push is now dead
To be honest I never knew this was how people felt about Firecracker. Since it came out, it's been one of my favorite cards in the game. Heck, when the evo came out I was excited for it. Until today it's still a main card in alot of my decks.
The most annoying card is the Mega Knight and now with the evolution that thing should be a federal crime. Too much health, too much spawn damage, too much jump damage and to add to it with area damage AND the evolution pushing your cards away from their tower or towards your tower
Firecracker disproves the argument that balancing the game based off of usage stats is logical. The majority of players have to deal with her almost every single game but she doesn’t have high usage at higher levels of play so she is considered balanced? How is this fair to everyone else that isn’t at the top level? Also if firecracker is a “mid ladder menace” then what constitutes as mid ladder? I’m a level 15 character in the final arena on trophy road and hitting ultimate champ and I see firecracker in 8 out of ten games, am I considered mid ladder? I think the devs need to accept that this card is not healthy for the game at all and I’m tired of having to run arrows in every deck just in case I play against it.
I don't get it why people already hate most of the new cards from 2020 - 2024, I know Supercell is trying to add something new . But it seems that everyone loves the old cards from 2016 - 2018
As someone who ran hog eq for about a year after the evo update, after not playing firecracker for almost a year I can say the card is pretty annoying to play against, however, everyone runs arrows and I think that makes it a frustrating experience for the player using firecracker and the player playing arrows. I think what the game needs is another 3 elixir spell that directly counter a card like firecracker, void could have filled that spot but didn’t quite work in the same way as arrows and wasn’t great at killing firecracker.
No. Just the Goblin baby tower troop will be unobtainable. But that doesn't matter because it literally has the same stats as a princess tower and you can't use it on ladder, 2v2 or PoL. Cards like Goblin Demolisher, Goblin Machine, etc will still be obtainable through shop, chests, season shop, magic items, etc.
Its really easy to counter...it has slow attack speed and low hp... Use high movement speed and high ranged cards like dart goblin...if you wanna save arrows for minions or goblins, use tornado to change her position....the most annoying thing about her is her position...so i guess tornado is her biggest counter...

Being unfun is arguably worse for a game than being op or terrible, if you always lose to a certain gun in an fps game, as long as it’s agreed to that it’s fun for user and those it’s being used against then besides the problem of load out variance there’s no real reason to nerf the card, and same for if a gun is terrible, but if a gun is unfun to go against no matter how balanced or bad it is that will be what gets people to stop playing or complain

I honestly think that if you very slightly reduce her range or somehow make her die to log (in a way in which wouldn’t change any other interactions) or some other spell being a fair counter to her then I think she would be less of a mid ladder menace, if they don’t want to change her stats then add some new cards that counter her effectively.

You always need to make sure your game is balanced in such a way that the entire skill progression and player seriousness curves are filled with good results. Unbalancing things at the top-level is bad for whales, lifers, and extremely vocal pros. Unbalancing things at the lowest level is bad for new player introduction. And unbalancing things at the mid-level is bad for, yaknow, NINETY PERCENT OF THE PLAYERS OF THE GAME.

You know what? I'm fine with almost everything about the Firecracker. The range? Fair. The effectiveness at destroying enemy clusters? Fine. But what gets me is the FACT THAT IT PUSHES BACK WHEN FIRING. Even powerful singular units can get knocked down a peg by the constant pushback of the Firecracker and it drives me insane.

It's indeed one of the more interesting ones because it was for a while THE RNG card. The spawning distance has always been random and that, alongside the way it interacts with the king tower and poison, makes it a meta-defining card.

Basically, they are depending on a particle pattern that Is already pre-established on every game (It's always the same), only being different because It's player earlier or later every time.

It gets so much value off of a high HP tank that gets the aggro off of her. She’s constantly going backwards which gives her a lot of survivability to melee units. It’s like having to beat the back line of the assault first instead of the frontline.

I swear this card would be fine and balanced if it just didn’t have recoil. I’ve placed troops to counter the firecracker and the recoil causes the troop to target a different thing. Spells which would have taken out the firecracker don’t because the recoil pushes it back out of the damage zone.

i remember when the firecracker was first released it was my favorite card b/c it was so fun to use and i was a major casual player. it was my first level 13, 14, and 15 card all when they were considered max level.
I find it really funny how, in the history of CR community, people have a mixed opinion on certain cards and decks like hog rider 2.6, mega knight, etc. But when it comes to firecrackers, everyone despises it in unison. Even midladders.
I see this card almost every game. I love it, i dont use it but its a fun little character. Reminds me of rambo if he was small and cute. Also, great useful card by kicking back and staying back to cycle another in is great use of that card too especially when it gets tower damage in.
This became my fav card after Fire Spirits were changed, I just loved how well the spread and range were able to deal with so many things
Ive got to say thanks to you for bringing me back to Clash Royale. My friend was mentioning the game and your video just so happened to appear on my recommended (I think it was history of the ebarbs) and I’ve consistently been watching you since. The thing I find most interesting is how my perspective has shifted since I started watching (I initially was very much a midladder menace and didn’t agree with some of your takes but now I’d consider myself pretty good) and how much more I appreciate your videos after becoming more invested in the game (including statistics and data). I wish for you to continue to make these videos and to not stop because I constantly find myself rewatching these videos every couple months when I’m doing work and relaxing. Also please do a video on some card in Splashyard as that’s my main deck and I believe a history on the poison/graveyard/baby dragon/ice wizard could be very interesting.

So i dont play clash royale but i noticed a general mentality of hate against off-beat cards like spawners mirror and xbow. They should be completely valid cards that demand answers from your opponent. Every card should be that but instead the choice is to soft remove them from the game in its entirety which i find unfair tbh. Can someone explain to me where this mindset comes from?
Clash Royale players just don't know how to play their own game, so they ask for nerfs of cards they suck against
A lot of these cards are way easier to use than to go against, which makes players feel like these cards are unfair and hate on them.
A mix of bad clash royale players being mad and whining at supercell and supercell being terrible at balancing.
If you want a real answer, it's because those cards don't have many answers to them outside of very specific cards. Having spawners or xbows be strong means everyone has to run those specific counters, leading to less deck variety.

Its an okay card. It has a low dps and low health for 3 elixir. Mind you lp has double health and its attack triples in seconds. Firecracker makes up for its ability to go back and its scattering effect which is what makes it OP.

Firecracker can be hated but as a user who has her at lvl 14 she rarely grts tower damage and if she’s played incorrectly the knock back forces her to switch lanes meaning the support troop for your push is now dead
To be honest I never knew this was how people felt about Firecracker. Since it came out, it's been one of my favorite cards in the game. Heck, when the evo came out I was excited for it. Until today it's still a main card in alot of my decks.

The most annoying card is the Mega Knight and now with the evolution that thing should be a federal crime. Too much health, too much spawn damage, too much jump damage and to add to it with area damage AND the evolution pushing your cards away from their tower or towards your tower
Firecracker disproves the argument that balancing the game based off of usage stats is logical. The majority of players have to deal with her almost every single game but she doesn’t have high usage at higher levels of play so she is considered balanced? How is this fair to everyone else that isn’t at the top level? Also if firecracker is a “mid ladder menace” then what constitutes as mid ladder? I’m a level 15 character in the final arena on trophy road and hitting ultimate champ and I see firecracker in 8 out of ten games, am I considered mid ladder? I think the devs need to accept that this card is not healthy for the game at all and I’m tired of having to run arrows in every deck just in case I play against it.

As someone who ran hog eq for about a year after the evo update, after not playing firecracker for almost a year I can say the card is pretty annoying to play against, however, everyone runs arrows and I think that makes it a frustrating experience for the player using firecracker and the player playing arrows. I think what the game needs is another 3 elixir spell that directly counter a card like firecracker, void could have filled that spot but didn’t quite work in the same way as arrows and wasn’t great at killing firecracker.
Firecracker is way less annoying than pekka or ebarbs. Pekka+zap kills most of troops with positive elixir trade and ebarbs just are ebarbs...
You can defend Pekka with archers + pretty much anything without issues. Dont only rely on swarms against her.

No. Just the Goblin baby tower troop will be unobtainable. But that doesn't matter because it literally has the same stats as a princess tower and you can't use it on ladder, 2v2 or PoL. Cards like Goblin Demolisher, Goblin Machine, etc will still be obtainable through shop, chests, season shop, magic items, etc.
