I went to music school and learned how to play the violin solely because of this song. I did learn how to play it after 4 years of training, but i needed more skilled players for the whole experience. So i showed this song to my teacher and he loved it, so he gathered 12 of the best players he knew to play it on his wedding day and it was EPIC! That was one of THE best experience for me as a gamer. Peace ✌️
I tried playing this song as well but like you said only with more players the magic of this music shines!! It must have been one hell of an amazing wedding if this was the music!!
Rise of the Tomb Raider - "Blood Ties" DLC, when you eventually reach the Library in the Manor, there is an old record player that when you press the requested button (X or Square), Lara will say "this sounds familiar" and it begins to play the Venice Violins. One of the greatest and most nostalgic moments in gaming for me 👌
GreenBasilisk55 its even funny how much of tomb raider 2 there is in it. Even when she mentioned the Tempel of xi'an. And the game itself resemble so much of TR2.
Matteo Dos Santos Evangelista True! Did you see one of the letters Winston wrote to Lara's father while he's away mentioning how she set up a trap and locked him in the freezer? I immediately thought of this game and started laughing
It's too much sometimes yeah. Feel ya :D Remember good old days playing this with my mom and dad making all those difficult jumps and fight sequences :D
i just finished rebeating tr2 last night ahaha i did agian hehe first time i played tomb raider was back when i was 2 my grandma showed me the seires n i started with tr4
me 2 i bought 2,3,4 on steam few days ago! :) i played TR 2 on playstation back in the days and it was just a demo..(only venice) so u can played it only for a few minutes! btw ,last time i heard there was a patch which u can play it a bit longer. so thats why i know this music^^
The Rockstar Yeah, right Now I'm finishing TR2, I'm at Talion level! But what I miss the most, is that the old TR style will never come back. Just waiting the Nicobass remake!
Holy shit. You did like my father used to do. Lock that dude in the freezer as my dad gets annoyed of him following him. And then he starts to fart and ruins the meat
I was listening to it whilst walking around St. Mark's Square. Just stood in the middle spinning around. It felt like I was in a movie. To everybody else I probably looked insane lol
The atmosphere the soundtrack gave off for Venice was something I never felt as a kid. I still love all of these games. Lara was such a bad ass. The sound tracks are always good this one especially should have been longer. I miss the old Lara croft games.. 😞
Yeah the new ones are Lara jumping to brick to brick like who in hell would do that I hope core design never sold there company but angel of darkness wasn't that bad
i'm not a 90's kid but my father gave me his ps1 and all 5 tomb raider games. They are so awesome! and I just can't get the music out of my head. It's so good >.< ♡ ... I also played the new tomb raider from 2013, but it isn't as good as the original :/
@@markjones5672 Yes! Tomb Raider I, from 1996, then 2 "Starring Lara Croft"; 3 "Adventures of Lara Croft"; 4 "The Last Revelation" and 5 "Chronicles". Love them all!
That's the good thing about that game, you need to try and try and sometimes it's really difficult. I love that. "New" games are often so easy that they're boring. :D
in like 1997 or 1998 I was living with my crazy mother and her boyfriend in a trailer park and we had a SNES and a play-station, no tv cable, no internet, nada all I had was spyro the dragon, legacy of kain, and tomb raider two. And all the back to the future VHS's all summer because all my friends in the hood moved away. Then I discovered this amazing thing called POKEMON my dad bought me a game boy pocket, then the game boy color came out like a month later lol
imagine if you will, the pleasant surprise when I put this PS game in my CD player. I had this on repeat, pretending I was a maestro with a broken tv antenna, waving it furiously at a ragtag brigade of action figures in a staged battle scene, as if I was leading an orchestra as they brought to life the score for a dramatic battle in a blockbuster movie... until my mother came in the room and unplugged the CD player lol. ah....memories
Me too! Actually I'm 16 but when I first saw my father playing the TR3, I was only 4 I think. Since that I've replaced him and I've been playing with Tomb Raider, I tried almost all the games, and almost have all. And when I start talking about TR to somebody, and he/she doesn't know that, I amaze...who even don't know this? Doesn't matter how old are you, this is an immortal game. And I don't fear to say, because I'm a girl. :)
Totally agree :) I grew up with this game, played with my sister and my dad :P I did cheat all over the place because the human opponents always gave me a jumpscare (and the sharks too!) ;)
Oh.. haunted deserted Venice... not a soul... Bartoli's hideout, too.. chills.. Only rats and Lara-made dead bodies.. and then the Opera house.. more chills.. (great memories, great game, musical masterpiece, still love my PS1, still playing, still enjoying.. Technology, I'm so sorry, but that's the way it is...)
I agree with you mam, I'm still playing Tom raider 2 now after 15 years from the release of the game haha! The music is beautiful and I really helped the mode of the game when playing it, especially on the hard levels, the floating island level was hard!
Pretty unrealistic, i may say. The levels in Venice looked like they took place in some kind of ghost town where criminals drove all the other people away, certainly not the real Venice. The three levels look like a whole "Sestiere" (that's how blocks are called in Venice) totally in the hands of criminals with not even a policeman around. I've went to the real Venice and it's like 100 times more crowded and canals are nearly always busy with traffic (mostly gondolas). That's how game engines were back then, little or no NPC interaction was modeled at all. If Tomb Raider 2 was made and released today these levels in particular could've been much more realistic, i always take the latest GTA games as an example of interactivity.
TeraVolt Still i can remember the opera house level to this day. As far as 3d adventure platformin genre goes, TR 1 and 2 were way ahead of they're time. Just popped to my mind, was it third level where you had to push the block in the firepit? lol. I was stuck there for the longest time..
More atmosphere, yes, but at an high cost in terms of realism if the level takes place in an Italian capital city and not some ancient city made of ruins. But, again, in the videogames of the era there was probably no way of simulating NPCs and realistic things such as bystanders running away and calling the police once any kind of fighting takes place near them like in GTA 4.
La mejor banda sonora de todos los TR y seguramente de toda la historia de los videojuegos, también. Es escucharla y retroceder 30 años. El primer juego que compré para una consola, junto a RE 2. Vaya par!!! ❤❤
My favorite game of Tomb Raider will always be Tomb Raider 2. Love the soundtrack, and was with this game that i fell in love for the adventures of Lara Croft. 25 years of Lara Croft... 😊😎🤩
this takes me back to that one playstation disc that had a bunch of demos and videos, including one for this game and this level, i felt in love with the theme.
This song popped into my head out of nowhere while I was on the bus and I had to hear it as soon as I got home. Great song, great game, and great times. Thanks for posting this.
This song is only 2:39, but it feels so much longer; it probably extended the '90s by a few decades. After spending so much time in the '90s, it's no wonder we're all so nostalgic over that beautiful decade.
I remember when my church rented out the local swimming pool at the playground, I was on staff and we got to use the pool after hours. They had this stereo system and guess what I played. I felt so cool but only one other person got it. Everyone was looking at me funny and calling me bougie lol
Every time I hear this, It reminds me how beautiful, elegant, yet ferociously wild and strong Lara is! She's that classy lady who you don't realize sleeps with a shotgun on her side. Man, that last level proved she could hold her own. Appropriately named, "Home Sweet Home."
My dad used to play Tomb Raider II in our old PC and I was just astonished at his excitement and concentration for that game. Time has passed, I grew up and nowadays we got the version for ps3. From time to time we get ourselves trying to find the solution, the secret door, the hidden treasures, and these are just one of the best times we spend together. Tomb Raider made part of our lives (Anniversary, Legend, TR II, Underground), this game series is one of the best in my point of view.
What a brilliant piece of music just for a video game.... Played TR2 on PS1 not very long after it came out, it was a cracking game. MEMORIES,, MEMORIES...
When I played the DLC 'Blood Ties'. And I heard this song. I kept thinking: 'I swear I have heard this song before. But where? Where have I heard this'?! Then I remembered. Why? Because I brought out my Playstation, dusted it off and played Tomb Raider II. 'This music sounds familiar. Its beautiful'. My reaction: 'Yes. The original version of you, well sort of, heard it way back in the day'. Such a good memory when you hear a song that came from the original Tomb Raider games. Brings back quite the good memories.
In my Ps1 days i didnt have memory card for longest of time. I still played the shit out of tomb raider 2. I probably have record on times t-rex slain. Also the first level ending cutscene is forever "burned" in to my brain.. I still remember the dialogue easily :D omg.. hahaha!
As do I. I honestly, remember everything of the game. Which is just quite amazing. All of these moments in games had come out. Yet. I remember Tomb Raider like I had played it yesterday. Oh! I didn't have a memory card for the longest time, and every time I had to start over in Peru. I quite died a lot in Saint Francis Foley. Damocles, and the swords. Tomb Raider, was within my opinion, the best game to play. I remember the area with traps, and I would want to run the other way, heh. But I have actually pulled out my PlayStation 1, and I am playing the original games again. Haha.
This brings back memories watching Weather Channel, Nickelodeon, WGN Entertaining America, TBS Superstation, Cartoon Network like PPG, Scooby Doo, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Dragon Ball Z, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab in the early 2000's
It’s 2022 and the nostalgic awesomeness is still here. This track brings back so many good memories of playing this game on my PlayStation during the school holidays. Thank you for this! 😍😍
I used to spend a lot of time doing the "fitness path" along the Lara's home as fast as i can...with this song i enhanced my performance making the best time of all my friend! ahhaha! Another italian TR Lover
I wish I could go back to the past to the moment I first heard this song on the game, I’m 35 now . That’s a long time back, just me or did life seem a lot more better then?
Me and my brother used to watch my Dad play Tomb Raider when we were 5 and 8. I'm playing through them all now! This track brings back some wonderful memories.
Man, this really takes me back to a golden age of gaming. I've grown up during the arcades of the 70's and 80's so I know a little something about gaming. I've watched the whole thing evolve from the days of Pong. I really miss Core. They did a beautiful job on the games..let alone, the music! And, you KNOW it's Tomb Raider when you hear it!
Serious nostagia buzz every time I hear this. Takes me back to the days of waiting for that special moment when you start your PS1 and the Sony logo disappears and the interminable wait for the Playstation logo to appear. Then the relief when it does.
Why can’t the replicate the feel and vibe of the originals, in the newer games? Tomb raider 1 and 3 are so incredibly nostalgic, my grand kids will be playing it!
Is it just me? But if the music or a song is very good and touches you and you get goose bumps... then you can say: that is exactly it! Once at 01:15 and for the second time at 01:41 😱 wow 😮
Wow, that takes me way way back. I miss the old Tomb Raider. Not that the survival we got now isn’t good, far from it but I always feel that we lost something in the process.
I went to music school and learned how to play the violin solely because of this song. The worst thing about this track is that it's too damn short. 30 minutes would be more fitting.
When they invent time travel, let's hand this score to Vivaldi, he'll compose a full suite around it.
Brescianello couldve done that easily

i think tomb raider was a father and kid game. u always had to have ur dad on standby incase the trexes were around!

My dad's not much of a gamer. However there were 3 games which we would play together as a family. Crash Bandicoot, Mario Kart and Tomb Raider.
OMG so trueeee!!!

Does anyone notice that this sounds similar to Vivaldi's Winter portion of the Four Seasons? Pretty amazing
That's why I looked this up!
The composer wanted it to sounds like a baroque Italian concerto grosso like those written by Vivaldi
You are not alone. I always confuse it with this song when I hear that song too
😂 Me old man always pointed that out.
Yes Nathan McCree the composer of the song tried to mimic the style of Vivaldi to make this song. Very impressive

This brings back memories watching Weather Channel, Nickelodeon, WGN Entertaining America, TBS Superstation, Cartoon Network like PPG, Scooby Doo, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Dragon Ball Z, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab in the early 2000's
This is unbelievable! Good memories!
It’s 2022 and the nostalgic awesomeness is still here. This track brings back so many good memories of playing this game on my PlayStation during the school holidays. Thank you for this! 😍😍
I feel the same way
With everything going on with COVID 19 I really just needed an escape. Thanks for the memories. This one is a true beauty. Stay safe and classy 😉
Hope you didn't get the clot-shots!
Oh man i finally FOUND IT gad damn i been going mad trying to find this now i can relax and ENJOY damn i miss the old lara Tomb Raider ftw :)
Brings back so many good memories...and frustrating ones
Bring me back good memories when I used to play with me my brother...i want to go back..
I'm a massive TR fanboy, & all my friends get sick of hearing about it, but they all Love this song.
I could listen to this for days
Sin dudas uno de los mejores títulos de Tomb Raider... Por historia, jugabilidad y su musica
Me and my brother used to watch my Dad play Tomb Raider when we were 5 and 8. I'm playing through them all now! This track brings back some wonderful memories.
This song is immaculate
Man, this really takes me back to a golden age of gaming. I've grown up during the arcades of the 70's and 80's so I know a little something about gaming. I've watched the whole thing evolve from the days of Pong. I really miss Core. They did a beautiful job on the games..let alone, the music! And, you KNOW it's Tomb Raider when you hear it!
I can picture lara doing balley and jumping around in her house with this music
Serious nostagia buzz every time I hear this. Takes me back to the days of waiting for that special moment when you start your PS1 and the Sony logo disappears and the interminable wait for the Playstation logo to appear. Then the relief when it does.
I remember when my dad taught me how to lock the butler in the freezer! I tried it and I ended cracking up!
so I wasn´t the only one XD that old man was scary as fuck :DD
Zooming about in the motorboat....smashing your way through those gondolas :-D Ah the memories!
They made a song in Brazil with the sample of venice violins! It's called "Ultradimensional Berimbau" and it's a well-known funk song! What an honor!
ai dj Blakes lança as pura porra, só mandelão original kkkkkkkkkkkk

on of my favourirte tomb raider 2 soundtrack songs thanks for uploading love the game
Why can’t the replicate the feel and vibe of the originals, in the newer games? Tomb raider 1 and 3 are so incredibly nostalgic, my grand kids will be playing it!
This was my favorite part of the game! 🎮♥
before TR II came out officially, i played the demo cd that contained this game, just to hear this OST
That moment when you get to hear that melody in "Rise of the tomb raider". XD Pure nostalgia.
Tomb Raider 2 was the best Tomb Raider
OMG... Childhood memories intensify...
Is it just me? But if the music or a song is very good and touches you and you get goose bumps... then you can say: that is exactly it!
Once at 01:15 and for the second time at 01:41 😱 wow 😮
Nice! Nathan McCree make our childhood!
I love this song and this game
such a perfect song for a more perfect game
Wow, that takes me way way back. I miss the old Tomb Raider. Not that the survival we got now isn’t good, far from it but I always feel that we lost something in the process.
The goosebumps kick in at 0:59 💕💕
My childhood , nostalgia :')
This HAS to be in my top ten favourite video game musics
REMASTER BABYYYYY!
