- Here is the level of venice and the hiding place of bartoli taken from the video game Tomb Raider the dagger of Xian recreated in a more realistic way.
The music is by Nathan McCree (musical composer of the game) performed by the royal philharmonic orchestra.

The atmosphere created and enhanced by Nathan McCree's score was one of the most wonderful features of TR2. I loved exploring it when it first came out. Viva Vivaldi!

I’m typically not a fan of new graphics for Tomb Raider, I will never play anything beyond Angel of Darkness lol. But this was super beautiful and if they gave us a remaster like this, like as colourful as this. It might just be the first one with new graphics that I’d actually play.
I don't know why. My first tomb raider was the 96 installments and I love them all. I root for reboot Lara just as much as I root for pyramid tits. This whole divided war doesn't make any sense. We should be empowered by the fact our icon is even getting screen time in general

I still play the good old PS1 Tomb Raider I gre up on this. SUPERB RECREATION OF THE CLASSIC piece from the game - the Venice crescendo as you fly through the passage over the mines............
TAKE MY MONEEEY PLEASE...Venice is the pinnacle of all Tomb Riders combined.
Unfortunately, they are not allowed by Square Enix to take any money for this project.

Edit: I also wanted to note that most remasters or graphical upgrades usually sacrifice the vibrance of colors to add to the realism. This one manages to maintain the exact same aesthetic while also adding detail. I can't praise you enough for achieving this.

For me there's a hard battle between 2 and 3. 2 because it's story development and soundtrack, 3 because it was improved a lot in terms of locations, outfits, although didn't had a nice backstory or final boss..
Venice was one of my favourite sets, plus loved the cats!

Tomb raider 2 and 3 was both my favorite on my childhood, I love them and I cant wait to play the remasters next Feb 14th.
Unfortunately, the TR2 remaster is not this: this had to be a complete remake of the game, a sort of Tomb Raider 2 Anniversary, which has not be completed yet; someone says that the project has been abandoned: if true, this is a real fooley!

this game wasn't received well but #2 was amazing and the best tomb raider game. it was huge, way more combat, a movie like story and even more hidden stuff and it was hard.
Tomb Raider 1 is darn good too. I wouldn't really want to decide between those two for the best Tomb Raider.

It's games like this with environments, sound and music - atmosphere you can get totally lost in... and wish would never end. Remember playing TR whilst in college. Would study a bit or type out senior project then take a break by playing a level of TR. Such memories. Albeit hen there were far fewer worries and loads of time.
We need more games like this. Adventure without killing something every 5 seconds. The reimagined TR with Laura swimming in a river of blood - you can f'ing keep that garbage. The latest incarnation of Laura had been rewritten as an object of destruction, always moments away from being assaulted. Just utter garbage. The original trilogy are where the fond memories reside - computer gaming at its finest.
This redressing of the original TR2 looks phenomenal. Hope the developers can pull it off.
You would not believe how many gamers they would make happy, particularly those that desire games just to get lost in, admire all the scenery. Hope they can add as much detail as feasible and perhaps even weather effects. VR would be simply amazing.

Yeah I agree that the pace of the first 3-5 games was really nice. 2 was a bit combat heavy, but rewarding when the credits rolled and I finally completed the game (only this year actually). I'm playing them in order to completion this time, and so look forward to Revelation again - certainly a game that is much more about exploration and adventure. Though the new games don't appeal to me because they look like a blood fest, each to their own I suppose. I guess the old games look horrific too, in terms of polygon count 😉 ...but I think they're awesome.

This is awesome! I love this. Possibly one of the most memorable areas in all the Tomb Raider games, with the exception of ancient Egypt and Lara's home.
