    Since I'm somewhat of a specialist, I'll do some commentary along with the video ;)
    1) It has much more rear passenger leg room than the GS. Largely because of the lack of the Drive shaft hump. It has even more rear legroom than the LS 500!
    2) Moonbeam Beige Metallic is a mix of two Lexus colors: Satin Cashmere and Silver Lining Metallic (if memory serves me right)
    3) FWD for now. Expect AWD hybrid to be available by 2021 at the latest.
    4) F Sport Grille is better but the standard is unique for Lexus with its verticle bars.
    5) These Optional 18" wheels are the noise-cancelling wheels. The design grows on you over time.
    6) Exhaust pipe is mostly hidden since it's a hybrid
    7) Decklid spoiler is standard on all es hybrids
    8) New key is the same key as LC LS and UX
    9) Interior color is called Flaxen on this model
    11) Since you have the UltraLuxury package, you have Semi-Aniline leather...the best leather in any vehicle.
    10) Wood on this is actually bamboo :P
    11) Door handle is shared with LC LS and UX just like the side mirrors and key fobs
    12) Your demo car didn't have Mark Levinson Sound System, but it had Heads Up Display and Panoramic Camera...Bizarre build they sent you...oh Lexus
    12.1) Mark Levinson is unreal in this car 17 speakers and 1800watts --- I get scared turning the volume too high
    13) Fully heated steering wheel is a first for the ES and most Lexus Vehicles only have partially heated wheels
    14) Steering Assist is now equipped with Lane Tracing. Under right conditions, it can almost drive itself compared to the outgoing lane-keep assist technology.
    15) LCD is shared with the UX 250h ---- The entry-level UX gets a lot of tech from this car at about 10k less or more
    16) The Aluminum trim shares a lot with the RC and LC. Supposed to be inspired by Katana sword-making techniques
    17) Sifter is the same in the UX

      Some people have mentioned both sound systems are very front biased with very little sound coming from the back. I didn't notice in my test drives before ordering my car but I didn't listen from the back seat. What is your input on this?

    • @chiricochubee
      @chiricochubee 5 лет назад

      LEXUriouS Kirk this does not looks like ultra luxury trim. It is luxury trim. Ultra luxury trim has seating extender on the driver side and Mark Levinson audio. At least that’s what is offered in my state from most dealers.

    • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels 5 лет назад +1

      @@chiricochubee great observations! Ultra luxury package is the only way you can get the rear passenger window shades. Mark Levinson w/ navigation is its own package, that can come in non luxury build cars. If this car didn't have the seat extenders, then it truly is an anomaly. Cheers.

    • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels 5 лет назад +2

      @@jimv1983 standard audio is underwhelming and front biased. If you're an audiophile, get the mark Levinson: it's amazing

    • @jimv1983
      @jimv1983 5 лет назад

      @@KirkKreifels I did get the Mark Levinson but I had to special order so I'm still waiting. Unfortunately the 2019 ES 300h with the Ultra Luxury package and Mark Levinson is only available by special order. Are you saying the Mark Levinson doesn't have the front bias? It's not something I really noticed or checked for before ordering.

    20:49 hey I have that same shirt 😁. Excellent detailed review as always buddy! This hybrid still looks plainish to me and that cvt Hybrid Powertrain just doesn’t sound good, I’d for sure go for the ES F Sport, which I think looks great and I love that Powertrain so much more. Here’s to an excellent 2019 for you Forrest!

    Very helpful tour of this car -- thank you. From my research, it appears you're driving the "ultra luxury" trim, not the base model (the "ultra lux" has the heated steering wheel, remote/foot-open trunk, rear window manual shades, and panoramic camera, plus special noise-reducing wheels, as well as upgraded soft leather seats).

    I think the instant torque of the electric motor is the killer feature. Most petrol cars have max torque at 4500rpm or higher. This car just pulls like a sledgehammer when you take off. Similar to a tesla actually.

  • @emmgeevideo
    @emmgeevideo 5 лет назад +4

    Might consider expanding your adjective list for words other than "cool"… Probably worth checking out which trim features are vinyl and not leather. The radial design on the arm rests are nice but I'll bet you a tall cool beverage it's not leather. EV kicks off around 15 mph per the manual, not 25 mpg. In my driving I conclude that putting the car into EV mode is not worth the effort because in about 30 seconds the car switches out of EV mode.
    My humble opinion after a week of ownership is that Normal mode is where to keep it unless you have a wild hair to pretend you're not in an ES and you put it in Sport mode. Eco mode is equivalent to driving fairly sensibly in Normal mode. It enforces a few things (e.g., slower acceleration) but personally it's more of a pain to remember to put it in Eco mode and then switch back to Normal mode vs. just driving more sedately to begin with in Normal mode.
    I traded in my 2016 ES 350 which was mostly an Oldsmobile with a Lexus name plate. I felt 70 years old when I drove it. The 2019 ES (both 300h and 350) is a huge improvement in every possible dimension. It's my 5th ES since 2007 so I'm an ES enthusiast. The older (2007-2012) era was classic IMHO. The next version was cheap and more like an Avalon. The 2019 is back to the ES styling roots with some pizzazz that is very welcome. Cool? Not really. "Cool" isn't the ES brand.

    how is the ride quality and rd noise compared to a 5 series or e-class?

    • @SergCarReviews
      @SergCarReviews 3 года назад

      Much better overall especially on the 18” noise cancelling tyres. There is little road noise even if you get the Luxury with 17”, F-Sport with 19” wheels a little more. Engine noise is ridiculously quiet, when revving harder can be a bit louder due to the CVT. Ride quality is superior when driving regularly, if trying for sportiness, definitely a BMW though :)

      I care to disagree, I am 5’11” and the back headroom is really lacking and due to the slope. I can sit in it but anyone taller would really struggle. If you have the reclining rear seats it helps a bit but not too much.

    I notice how Lexus gets a pass for the presence of cheap hard plastics in the interior, low resolution back up camera and distorted heads up display along with partial LED lighting on the exterior mixed with incandescent lights. Particularly at this price point.
    According to the Toytota / Lexus trolls I see comment in other videos, particularly of American and Nissan products, those issues are blasphemous if present on those other makes, even ones that cost $10,000 - $15,000 cheaper. But since this is a Lexus it's ok.
