My gf died of breast cancer and this was her song. I held her thru all her tears and I held her hand thru everything, I can't hear this without crying😥
My friend died a few years ago he loved this song we always go to where his ashes are every year with my wife and friends, this reminds me of him 😢 lovely guy 💙
While you’d be a fool to deny that this is an incredible song, I feel like Evanescence shines even brighter when you have the contrast of Amy Lee’s stunning vocals with a harder driving song like “Bring Me To Life” or “Going Under”.
This is one of the most powerful and heartbreaking songs ever. Amy's vocal is just pure perfection!! Very much in the same vein as Sarah McLachlan's Angel.
I absolutely adore this song... and Amy Lee's voice is untouchable! And, although it shows him playing the piano in the video, she is actually the pianist.
The reason for that is that she’s the angel (the person who has past) and he’s the one thinking everything she is singing. That’s why he IS playing the piano in the video. That’s why she’s laying down and in white etc etc etc cuz like her voice she’s an angel is the video
she is so heart broken in this song... in the song she is a ghost that has recently passed and she is watching how devastated the man she loved is by her passing, she is powerless to help.. he sits at the piano she played crying, he walks to the places they went.. he misses her so much and it is crushing her.. she goes to those places watches from the trees crying, sits on the roof of where they lived... it is so sad, i wanna hold her, comfort her.. i love her voice, eyes and long beautiful hair
@@francinedrabik8530 u can use the lyrics and they fit for her sister, but she did not write this song, Moody did “a member of the band”.. she wrote “Hello” and “Like You” about the dark place she was in after her sister passed, not this song, although it does fit, but Amy herself said she does not think of her sister while she sings this song, but does on the other 2.. in fact she refuses to perform “Hello” live as it hurts to much
@@francinedrabik8530 she didn't write the song and it wasn't about her sister. She can definitely relate to it however. You are thinking of the song Hello.
The bridge between the 2nd and 3rd verses is the sadest emotion I know. "I tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone. But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along." Agony!
I’m not sure how anybody has not heard this song before 😂 but even hearing it for the millionth time gives me goosebumps, one of the most beautiful songs ever
This is the 5th year my brother left this world, why did she have to make the song so sad? I never thought so until that happened. I still break down when I hear this

Her voice is unreal. I love hearing this song with someone who's never heard it cuz I listen to it every time I see it!!! Lovely! Please try Bring Me Back to Life!
I found this song about 3 months after my mom's death from ovarian cancer, It became my song for her. Every line was written for our situation, I was there for her every time she cried, heard her screams when she was dying and held her and supported throughout the years. Although she was gone she was very much in my soul and lived in my mind and behind my eyes for years, even to this day 13 years later. "You still have all of me" Always and Forever mom 1950-2007
I cry every time I hear her voice, Evanescence was my late mum’s favourite band, she passed in 2011 age 56, I would walk into her house and she would have their album blasting so loud much to my dad’s annoyance 😂. My wee mum definitely had great taste 🥰
If you notice, in the video she never touches the ground. She hovers like a ghost (immortal soul) of a loved one that’s past. You should also listen to “Going Under”, “Bring Me to Life” and her duet with Seether, “Broken”.
@mspfinney I have a hard time interpreting lyrics sometimes but it seems pretty clear to me that she’s dead. The video seems to prove that too. She says “If you have to leave, I wish you would just leave, cause your presence still lingers here and it won’t leave me alone.” That sounds like a tortured soul wishing that her lover would just move on, so her soul can move on and be at peace. She says “These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real. There's just too much that time cannot erase.” Perhaps it was a suicide? Just speculating. But anyway, I agree that she seems like “supernatural” in this video.
@@durv13 Yeah I know, but Amy didn’t write the song. Ben Moody, who was in the band at the time and was the guy walking around in the video, wrote the lyrics when he was still in high school. And he said the lyrics evoke a spirit, but has nothing to do with God or religion. I believe he wrote the song around the time his grandfather died. And I’m sure Amy can relate because of her sister, who died and also because of her brother, who suffered with severe epilepsy his entire life before finally dying in 2018.
