Of all the channels that I've watched reacting to this song, you're the only one who noticed that she's not touching the ground.. I'll never get tired of this song or Evanescence. Amy has an amazing voice
I've seen this video 10+ times and I've never noticed that! Is there a reason/meaning for this? From my understanding, she's not the one that died so not sure why she would be a ghost...
The song expressing the loss of a family member or a friend and how it almost drove her to the edge of insanity. Many believed its a song dedicated to the loss of her sister
I know right. I love this song an watchin reactions to it. An i dont recall anyone noticing that she is not touchin the ground or its meanin in this song. An i played bring me to life alot wen i was d.j.ing. then i heard this an it quickly got requested more. Amys voice is amazing. From soft an sweet to haunting an piercing. Wow.
You are very wise young man. I appreciate that you tapped into the fact that people who lost someone would listen to this song. I layed my husband down on our kitchen floor on his birthday and knelt next to him and said, I love you. He couldn't speak so all he could do was mouth, I love... And, he died with my hands on his chest. I can't listen to this song without sobbing. But, sometimes you need some help to cry. I get lost in my own pain sometimes. Thank you for sharing your reaction with us. Sincerely, Carly💙
So sorry for your loss Carly, my husband died in 2020. The last thing he said was I love you. I'll miss him for the rest of my days. This song makes me cry every time 💔
You're right about Amy never touching the ground. In the video, think of the lyrics from _his_ (Ben Moody's) point of view and see Amy Lee as a spirit. Amy has stated in interviews that she wrote the song about her little sister, who died when they were both young.
What an amazing song. Her voice is so beautiful. The lyrics are heart wrenching, emotional. Love the black and white video. Amy is beautiful. Her eyes are piercing. Great reaction, Billy Boy
You are the only one that I have noticed that sees she doesn’t touch the ground. The video is about the guy in it, she is his immortal, his Angel, that’s why she never touches the ground. Think of it as every man and woman has an Angel with them, a female for the man and a male for the woman. She is his and is overwhelmed by his pain and is singing what he is feeling. My immortal, or my Angel..
Regarding your remark about her not touching the ground-good catch! She's supposed to be representative of a lingering spirit, so she floats above the ground for the duration of the video. Singer confirmed it a while back.
Wow. I never noticed about the fact she doesn't touch the ground. I did figure out that she's the one no longer with us - notice her wrists are bandaged. But she is singing from the perspective of the person she left behind. To me, that's what is so deep about this song. And it's beautiful! Thanks for your reaction.
"these sad songs can make you feel better in a kind of way" the word you were looking for is catharsis. A total real feeling when you watch or listen to something sad, but it helps you feel better.
This song absolutely breaks me every time. Makes me think of my lost loved ones! I love when people discover Amy's voice with this song. Her vocals are outstanding! Next you should check SEETHER- BROKEN (Ft AMY LEE) JUST AMAZING
Sad songs are my favorite even though they always make me cry. Especially after losing my mom, sister and grandma over the last year and a half. If you wanna check out some more sad songs these ones are really good. Craig Morgan - The father, my son and the Holy Ghost Jessie Reyez - Worth saving Smith & Myers - Not mad enough Rascal Flats - what hurts the most James Blunt - Monsters
I've been a fan since this band came out. And I never caught that she never was on the ground 👍🏽 also you're right about this song, that it could help people who are sad, I feel it would act as a good outlet to let out those feelings. Finding words to fit what hurt you go through.
Evanescence is my all time favorite band and i have loved them since i first heard them in 2002. many of amy's songs are delving into loss because she lost her little sister when she was just a toddler and her brother passed away in 2018. they are one of the most underrate rock bands. most stations used to play one song by them which is "bring me to life" and amy hates the rap part of it, the record company made them include it to be more relevant. But they have so many good songs that get overlooked because some stations do not consider them rock. im happy you are delving into different genres. eclectic taste in music helps creativity and you never know what youre missing if you just listen to one style of music.
I’ve listened to many reactions to this song.. because it’s so deep.. I never thought about the fact that she never touches the ground. I get that feeling.. of an almost surreal out of body thing. Pain can do that to you. The power of the video gets lost a bit - I get it. It’s because of her voice, the lyrics and imo how beautiful she is.. her eyes, especially. But, the video is incredibly well done too. Amy Lee dated the singer in a band called Seether years ago. The do a song together called, Broken and I’d love to hear your reaction. Great introspective reaction.
Wow just came across this comment. I couldn't imagine 14 years. I've never been married but I just got out of a 5 year relationship and I'm just starting to heal, I took it very hard. Stay strong. Thoughts are definitely with you.
You nailed it straight away you got the meaning right I like to think of it from the guys point of view as he s the one who’s lost her he’s in his funeral clothes , looks to the sky for her and she can’t get to him as she can’t get back
Her voice is haunting. This song is so relatable to many for many different reasons. Loss of a loved one by death or just the death of a relationship. When she sings, "But though you're still with me, I've been alone all the long" implies a relationship where one person is still holding on while the other is half way out the door.
Absolutely love the fact that u noticed she wasn’t touching the ground. You should hear : call me when your sober, going under, everybody’s fool, lithium, or imaginary. :)
The Ultimate Evanescence list for you: Lost In Paradise Far From Heaven Lithium Wasted On You Better Without You Feeding The Dark Lacrymosa & The End Of The Dream ( Synthesis Live)
I've watched this video dozens upon dozens of times throughout the years and never noticed the fact that she never stands on the actual ground. Your depth of vision is beautiful. And yes there are very sad songs that can be uplifting in a way.
This is by far my favourite Evanescence song. It is sad but it is good in a way that makes you think of all those people who have gone but changed your life.
You're so sweet. Always very real, reflective, and insightful with your comments. Amy Lee has the voice of an angel. Another sad but beautiful song I'd love to recommend is called Moments. It's by a Canadian country group called Emerson Drive. The official video is a MUST watch to get the full story. I've been trying to get someone to watch it for a year now - but no luck yet. Cheers from Canada!
Video - don’t call me when you’re sober Lost in Paradise Lithium Tons of hits can’t go wrong she did a duet with her ex boyfriend- Broken with the band Seether also fire 🔥
In "My Immortal", Lee expresses her feelings through the line, "Though you're still with me / I've been alone all along." A writer for IGN said that "'My Immortal' is a song of pain and despair caused by the loss of a family member or very close friend and how it drove her [Lee] to the edge of insanity."
Your intuition is on point don't ever doubt it in any circumstance. It sets you apart from other reactors on YT and most folks in real life too. Folks who notice the things you do usually end up on the better side of any situation that gets flipt.
Amy Lee is a muse..your attention to every aspect of this gorgeous song almost got me...thank you for noticing..check out "Sober" by them..it describes what I finally got out of..and it's powerful..
This song makes me cry every time. I honestly never noticed that she isn't shown touching the ground in anyway, until now, and it has me thinking. good eye, btw. Maybe she felt completely ungrounded through the grieving that this song speaks about, and the lack of contact with the ground throughout the video is symbolic of that. Just a thought.
Great reaction, nice catch on the video about Amy not touching the ground, no one really catches that the first time through. If you're sticking with Evanescence you might as well stay in order of release of the popular official music videos, they are all 🔥🔥🔥. "Going Under", "Everybody's Fool", "Broken"(Seether ft. Amy Lee), "Call Me When You're Sober", "Lithium", "Enough", "Sweet Sacrifice", "My Heart is Broken". That'll get you started on the path of being an Ev head.
My interpretation is the part of her that died when they split is what's "floating" That fog you feel like you're in when you lose love. Just my two cents.
Dude!!! Love your channel already! Seriously what a reaction! Your are a very bright young man. The way you hear music and break down the meaning in the video is talent. You really have an ear from music you should be a producer. And what you said about music making you feel. Music is art an art is supposed to make you feel. No one ever said that those feelings had to be positive. Music like this and deathcore are really good release for negative pent up emotions. And you are right this song does mean a lot to a lot of people it means a lot to me and I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction I liked and subscribed
Live is definitely worth listening to, it’s so much better because she’s at the piano. Same thing with Bring me to life. She’s a vocalist and a pianist, classical training. Amy Lee is an angel in this context. She wrote this about her sister who passed away. I cried and (then learned it for my band )- whew- it’s tough. She’s talented,no question. ❤️🎼🎶❤️
I've been listening to this song since 2007? I only recently read a comment about her not touching the ground, which I never noticed. You noticed instantly and.. it gave me the chills. Not sure why she doesn't touch, but I sure never expected someone to comment that on their first reaction
Do "Stay" by Sugarland. It's a country song, but is one instrument and slow paced like this one. The lead singer has as good of a voice, or better. The emotion that woman sings that song with is from her real life. I think you will like it.
You're right, it does help. I used to listen to this lot after my wife passed 3 years ago.. good stuff. (and btw, I used your records on the wall as some inspiration to decorate my basement)
I really liked this reaction. . I agree Jill about Amy Lee not touching the ground . I guess in the other video she was falling . Maybe she’s scared . But for real no jokes if you haven’t checked out “Whiskey Lullaby” it’s by Brad Paisley featuring Allison Kraus . The video version is excellent and also “ I believe “ by Brooks and Dunn . All country artists with excellent voices and video
Such a beautiful song. You definitely had me at your comment about Fire Away. Another one to tractor to that's somewhat related, is Jason Isbell Elephant.
This is the song she wrote for her sister that died when they were younger. Your right! She isn't touching the ground! I think she's supposed to be the angel in this. A representation of her sister or something like that. Her feet & wrists are also bandaged representing.....wounds that never heal.
You really have to check out PLUSH - Sober. There is no video, but they opened for Evanescence/Halestorm back in Nov/Dec. The singer, Moriah Formica is heavily influenced by Amy Lee and they are one of the fastest rising bands in America right now. Going on tour with Slash in Feb. She also does an incredible version of this song for anyone who wants to listen it's on her YT page.
I remember when this song first came out and in 2003 . I was 14 years old and it was so popular it was playing every single day on the radio I remember buying the album and thinking this is really cool and when it was in the daredevil film with Ben Affleck.
I always saw this song as two stages. At first she sad and then she works your way pass the sadness of what she said into repeating it when the band kicks in of more of an anger that you didn't appreciate her and all that she did
I remember listening to song when I was young in middle school I got to crying because it meant so much to me at the time I understood it and it was sad with the issues I was going through this song hit my heart hard ash ☠️
Everyone appreciates a person that's sensitive. I have a hard time talking about the way I feel for some reason. Even though I'm extremely sensitive. I loved your reaction to this.
If you don’t at least get the feeling of wanting to tear up listening to this song then you don’t have a soul lol. This is my 1,000,000th time listening to this song and I still get goosebumps.
No cap, after getting cheated on by my ex who lied about cancer I listened to this song over and over again at work. Made me feel so much better. Thanks for dusting this old song off for me
You would be correct, Amy doesn't touch the ground in the entire video, she is supposed to represent a spirit of some kind. The video was shot in Barcelona ,the guy in the video is Ben Moody the guitarist, he also wrote the song and was in a relationship with Amy, they are the founding members of the band. Here's were it gets ironic, Moody and Amy were having problems and all of a sudden he splits with Amy and leaves the band two weeks after they shot this video. No one knew he would be leaving, not even Moody. So it's ironic that the video is depicting that they have lost each other. Did this make sense.
Good eye brother! Few catch she doesn’t touch the ground but her man does and yes it means something she’s very very involved in the videos, every aspect and she writes all of it, nonpaid lyracists with her.
she is not touching the ground because she has passed away. The guy in the video is looking up looking for her. she is the immortal in the video. I believe the song was actually written about her sister who passed away.
Good shit bro! Only reactor ive seen notice that shes in white, and not touching the ground. Shes the angel, but singing in the view of the person still alive. 🤘🤘
Surprised how quickly you noticed she was not touching the ground, but with that is also surprises me you did not mention the wraps around her wrists (sorry, probably been mentioned 50 times by now). Yeah, definitely a song that brings a lot to the forefront. Even if just for a short lived portion of your memory or thoughts.
Good catch. Ben Moody is the guy on the piano. Not long after this he left the band. Hence the hard split between Amy and him in the video.
Wow.
I was gonna say the same thing
I can't believe you noticed she hadn't been on the ground 2 minutes into the song. I never noticed that until it was pointed out to me.
You are very wise young man. I appreciate that you tapped into the fact that people who lost someone would listen to this song. I layed my husband down on our kitchen floor on his birthday and knelt next to him and said, I love you. He couldn't speak so all he could do was mouth, I love... Wow ive watched lots of reactions to this song and you are the first one to notice that right from the beginning of the video , you are very observant
You're right about Amy never touching the ground. In the video, think of the lyrics from _his_ (Ben Moody's) point of view and see Amy Lee as a spirit. Amy has stated in interviews that she wrote the song about her little sister, who died when they were both young.

I think it is about her 3 year old sister who passed away.
All evanescence songs are deep, speak to me is an amazing song
she has a very distinct beauty. like out of a painting
This song was written by the guy in video ( Ben Moody ) when he was 17. Its about how he felt when his grandfather passed away.
Oh man your girl would have loved this one! Love Amy Lee, she’s amazing in concert.
Your intuition is on point don't ever doubt it in any circumstance. It sets you apart from other reactors on YT and most folks in real life too. Folks who notice the things you do usually end up on the better side of any situation that gets flipt.
Yeah, good call on noticing she doesn’t touch the ground.
Thoughtful and intelligent commenting as well buddy👍

This song makes me cry every time. I honestly never noticed that she isn't shown touching the ground in anyway, until now, and it has me thinking. good eye, btw. Maybe she felt completely ungrounded through the grieving that this song speaks about, and the lack of contact with the ground throughout the video is symbolic of that. Just a thought.
This young gentleman is smart and sees things in the videos and lyrics that so many other reaction channels don't.
Agree. He really tries to analyze the spirit of the song he listens to . Not just an off the cuff assessment.
She does a song with another band called Seether you might enjoy it
My interpretation is the part of her that died when they split is what's "floating" That fog you feel like you're in when you lose love. Just my two cents.
The song that I couldn't stop listening to after my dad died even though it made me ugly cry is "The Hurt And The Healer" by Mercy Me.
Such a beautiful voice
watch the live performance of this song! its awesome!
Dude!!! Love your channel already! Seriously what a reaction! Your are a very bright young man. The way you hear music and break down the meaning in the video is talent. She's not touching the ground because she's representing a spirit

I really liked this reaction. . I agree Jill about Amy Lee not touching the ground . I guess in the other video she was falling . Maybe she’s scared . one of the most haunting LOVE SONGS ever: Amy Lee is beautiful with a beautiful voice she shares with the world. Goes right to the heart.
Thanks for the video, haven't heard this song since my childhood, the chills are still there :)
When the drums drops its onnnnn
more about evanescence, thanks for the reactions 😊
Amy is one of the most underrated femsle vocalist ever. She makes the hair stand up on my arms every song.
This is the song she wrote for her sister that died when they were younger. Your right! She isn't touching the ground! I think she's supposed to be the angel in this. A representation of her sister or something like that. Her feet & wrists are also bandaged representing.....wounds that never heal.

This song was common on the radio when my first son passed. Played on repeat for about 3 months.
Even in death is a good song from her
I remember when this song first came out and in 2003 . I was 14 years old and it was so popular it was playing every single day on the radio I remember buying the album and thinking this is really cool and when it was in the daredevil film with Ben Affleck.
U r very observant brother. Nobody elses reaction ive seen noticed it right off like u.
I love your reaction and perspective on the details of things. This is a great, but sad song. Keep up the good work.
I always saw this song as two stages. At first she sad and then she works your way pass the sadness of what she said into repeating it when the band kicks in of more of an anger that you didn't appreciate her and all that she did
A great song, expressing deep emotional pain. Another great song from the same album is "Tourniquet", which is about the pain of a spiritual crisis.
I remember listening to song when I was young in middle school I got to crying because it meant so much to me at the time I understood it and it was sad with the issues I was going through this song hit my heart hard ash ☠️
The fact that she hasn't touched the ground is very astute and intended.
Everyone appreciates a person that's sensitive. I have a hard time talking about the way I feel for some reason. Even though I'm extremely sensitive. I loved your reaction to this.
Great reaction
Should really check out the mash up with evanescence and Linkin Park called "heavy mortal" I think it's by grave danger

bro react to the live version please, its so dope how people are singing along to it
Absolutely! Love it
And her reaction when she hears them sing saying wow.
Don’t get the wrong live version where the band plays out of tune 😂😂😂
@@andrewpeters3105 This is the good one I believe. ruclips.net/video/ANbyXGc0z4U/видео.html
Amy lee tem uma voz linda
she is not touching the ground because she has passed away. The guy in the video is looking up looking for her. she is the immortal in the video. I believe the song was actually written about her sister who passed away.
Good shit bro! Only reactor ive seen notice that shes in white, and not touching the ground. Shes the angel, but singing in the view of the person still alive. 🤘🤘
Yes she is replicating a love that has died
I appreciate all your reactions, you're really genuine.
Another good song is by Spiritbox-Constance. A very good song.
Hello is a song of theirs that hits hard
This song is "earned", period.
Nice reaction. Sad beautiful songs can be therapeutic!
Please react to their video
Call Me When You’re Sober.
and Lithium.
Thanks
Surprised how quickly you noticed she was not touching the ground, but with that is also surprises me you did not mention the wraps around her wrists (sorry, probably been mentioned 50 times by now). Yeah, definitely a song that brings a lot to the forefront. Even if just for a short lived portion of your memory or thoughts.
Try "Call me when you're Sober - Evanescence" too!
Haven't heard this song in a long time. Brings back things. Great reaction bro
