"If I ever saw her, I couldn't look her in the eyes." Dude, I met her in 2004. That's literally what happened. My grown ass self was looking at the ground and stumbling over my words like a 14 year old. Girlfriend at the time roasted me for weeks about it lol.
@@freddyvelasquez4168 partly because she showed just with this song, that she knows so much, she's so fucking smart, so being in her presence automatically feels like you're less of a person
Depends on if you follow renaissance art, or biblical descriptions, because those look demonic. No wonder the first thing angels say is to not be scared
It's one the the best things she does. Harmonizing with herself. Singing sometimes 4 or 5 different things layered on top of each other in some songs. She said when they didn't have tons of money it was cheaper for her to do all the parts than to hire other people to do it. It worked and she just keeps doing it because it works so well even today. With her range she can sing all the higher and low harmonies easily. I believe this helped her mess so well singing with out people. helping Hailstorm in her song comes to mind singing back ground vocals. She just perfect filled the background with her voice in that one.
She is NOT classically trained! The only training she has had was a movement coach to learn how to move on stage because she originally had issues being in front of a crowd! But, she has not been classically trained!
I may be mistaken, but my interpretation is that she is the one who has passed away. Her feet never touch the floor, she never interacts with anyone, dressed in white like a ghost... Yet he's in black like he's been to a funeral and forlorn at the piano.......just a thought
i'm not sure if it was ever like confirmed by the band or her but that is the reigning theory that she is actually a ghost and she is the one who has passed away its the guy missing her
I know there's "Try not to laugh" challenges and things along those line with reactors. This song is a "try not to cry" challenge for me. This is one that I can hear over and over, day after day, and I still cry every time without fail.
I think we all have allergies listening to this song 😜 Great reaction and huge shout out to your Patreon Evanescence squad requesting these gems. I think you need to do Going Under next, see a bit heavier side of the band. Thanks again for your reaction, you're truly a delight to watch. We're all ready for an Evanescence journey with you. 🤘❤️😘
Amy is the most sweet and smiley person. Check out her interviews. She's been through a lot of tragedy so she is strong for being such a bubbly personality.
This song is enough to reduce anyone to a sobbing puddle. It's absolutely beautiful! I'm going to see Evanescence in December, and I am beyond excited!
If it weren't in daredevil I would have never heard it, to have it change my life. I thank daredevil for giving me the gift of hearing Amy's voice for the first time as a child.
And other songs: Bring me to life, tourniquet, Sober, Lithium that'S on the top of my head. oh and "going under" and "everybody's fool" are classics too
Omg! 1st time I saw the video it was her eyes...they absolutely hypnotic, right?! I feel like if she wanted to, she could level me w/them. She's amazing in every category
I heard this song about 3 months after my mom's death from ovarian cancer, It became my song for her. Every line was written for our situation, I was there for her every time she cried, heard her screams when she was dying and held her and supported through out the years. Although she was gone she was very much in my soul and lived in my mind and behind my eyes for years, even to this day 14 years later. "You still have all of me" Always and Forever mom 1950-2007
this is one of them songs when we hear it . it reminds us of all the ones we lost that we love . for me its my mom . so the title says it all . because if we remember them they never really die . we miss them but there always with us . until its our time to dip out . and we see them again .
she has a talent for writing harmonies that aren't simply a semitone off, but an entirely different countermelody that compliments and harmonises with the main melody. some great examples are "bring me to life", "weight of the world", "cloud nine", "call me when you're sober", "my last breath", "taking over me", "a new way to bleed", "my heart is broken"
Goosebumps and chills down my spine when the drums kick in. Been a good 10 years since I've listened to this and your appreciation for it is great to see. I knew when I clicked this video that you were going to comment on the drum roll.
this is perfection... the song... the voice... the video... and Amy is gorgeous! She's ridiculously underrated! But this song is one of the greatest ever of its kind. She actually killed herself this is why she has bandages around her wrists, shes a ghost. This is also why her feet never touch the ground and the kids in the playground don't see her. Its also why she's in white and why she appears in different random places..she's a spirit.
This band and this song in particular got me through a lot in my mid teens. I was so enamoured with her and her voice. I still feel the same way about this song as the first time I heard it. I went to see them play with a live orchestra a few years ago, she sounds exactly the damn same. When she came out on stage and said hello I nearly burst into tears because I couldn't believe she was there and I cried during this song. 💜🖤
The melody and emotion climbs and climbs...then flutters back down. The video is mesmerizing, the words haunting, and as beautiful as it is.....it explodes !
Will say it again, I get a kick out of you guys seeing/hearing this for the first time. This is a masterpiece and Amy draws you in deeper and deeper as it goes along. By song's end she's got complete control of you. Amy's something else and yes, as many will mention she's a pianist. Super cool and very likable gal...to say nothing of incredibly talented.
The song was about her grandfather who had recently passed away. She is from Little Rock, Arkansas. Im from Arkansas and was just blown away when I found out they were from Arkansas. She has the most unique voice I've ever heard. Thanks for the reaction bro.
She does all the vocals in a very artistic way. She alternates between vocalizing and singing a second voice some times in the same verse. I love her tone. Saw her live and she sounds exactly like the track. This song is an eargasm.
im surprise that you recognize that she likes piano without see her play!! because she is a pianist and write all the piano of evanescence. good job man
You have an incredible ear for music. One of my favorite reactions I've seen on RUclips, and such a musical understanding. Amy Lee is a goddess, and must be protected. Her presence is intoxicating and empowering all at once in person. Meeting her was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.
Beautiful voice. Beautiful pianist. Beautiful woman. This is why she was the ultimate crush for many growing up! Edit: check out Call me when you're sober by Evanescence!

You're correct. She's a classically trained vocalist and piano player, and she layers her harmonies in studio tracks. :-)
It's one the the best things she does. Harmonizing with herself. Singing sometimes 4 or 5 different things layered on top of each other in some songs. I thought she wasn't actually professionally/classically trained in vocals, only with the piano.
She also makes most of her clothes herself! By reusing stuff taken from thrift stores
Also, octave above or below defines "harmony" :)
She is NOT classically trained! The only training she has had was a movement coach to learn how to move on stage because she originally had issues being in front of a crowd! But, she has not been classically trained!

@@kbdemonbain4568 Yes, that's exactly the same thing I thought and what she's saying in the song is what is he is thinking and feeling.
she can enchant you with those eyes
She created the piano melody to the track, she was the pianist of the band. One of the most talented and elegant musicians to grace music.
Everyone raves about Amy Lee, and she deserves all of it. That being said the whole band is absolutely solid.
One of the greatest female vocalists all time.
This gives me chills. Every. Single. Time.
Every time I hear this song I'm in tears before the end.
Im 45 years old and still got tears in my eyes , when i hear that song

In this video, she is someone who has died and came back as an angel and trying to comfort her love. Notice how her feet never touch the ground.
It seems to make more sense if the lyrics were from the guy's perspective as he is living and she is the spirit....
