This banana bread is the real deal people! Moist and fluffy on the inside with that light golden crunch on the outside. Just sweet enough with a hint of cinnamon and brown sugar and lots of banana flavor. It's quickly become my favorite banana bread recipe. I hope you guys enjoy this banana bread recipe just as much as my family has. It's gets even better the next day. Freezes and reheats very well. You'll want to make two loaves.

I know how you feel my grandmother had a stroke and was paralyzed on her right side, she couldn't communicate very well and the rest of her life became a seemingly endless charades. She was a smoker and was later diagnosed with lung cancer, however was able to fight for about 3 years. It can be tough to see your loved ones go through the struggle of age and illness, however you always have your memories from your past that will impact your future.

Darcy McCutchen Thank you, Darcy. I'm very sorry for your loss. You are right. I have been taking care of mom for almost 10 years now and even though a lot of it has been very sad, I feel blessed that I was able to do this and not have to put her into a nursing home. I have lots of pictures and videos of sweet times with mom, even in the midst of this illness. Since I wrote my original comment, my mom has been put into home hospice but I know I have done a good thing keeping her in her home and I will cherish every moment I've had with her.

omg. this recipe is amazing. for those who want to make muffins out of this u can half the recipe to make 9-10 banana muffins. I skipped the lemon juice and buttermilk and it still tastes amazing. i replaced buttermilk with water mixed with greek yogurt /plain yogurt. and i also reduced the sugar by -20g of half the recipe because the bananas were already sweet as is. :)

Hey Monique, I have to tell you what a hit I was at my church this weekend a out Women's Breakfast. Some of the women were asked to make baked goods for our raffle and I made your Moist Banana (Nut) Bread. I was asked to make two so I doubled the recipe. I've made it three times from my family, but it was smelling so good to my husband that the 2nd one didn't make it out the house. The ones that won a piece of the Moist Banana (Nut) Bread at the raffle could not stop eat it. The owner of the restaurant we were at asked for a piece and he had to share it with his son and daughter (who were out waiter and waitress). Since everyone didn't get a piece I have to make more and now I've been asked to donate another Moist Banana (Nut) Bread to another function in October.
I 've used your Thanksgiving recipes and other recipes on your page and all have been a hit and I knew this would also win. Words cannot describe how much of a hit you made me. Thank you and keep up the awesome recipes!!!!!!!!!!

It's easy to MAKE buttermilk (does ANYONE ever have it on hand?). The purpose of buttermilk in almost any baking recipe is to add tenderness and lighten the batter. Once the acids in the buttermilk get in contact with the baking soda or baking powder in the batter, a giant fizz-fest takes place. The reaction with the baking soda (or powder) cancels out the sourness of the buttermilk, leaving baked goods airy, tender and delicious.
    Ingredients:
1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or heavy cream)
1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
    Instructions
Combine the milk and lemon juice or vinegar.Stir and let the mixture stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes. When it is ready, the milk will be slightly thickened (not quite as thick as buttermilk you've purchased) and you will see small curdled bits.

I hope this message helps po!

As part of my Covid-19 Quarantine cooking chronicles , I made this banana bread and it was a hit! Very moist, soft and not too sweet, just perfect! I added about a 1/2 teaspoon more of vanilla and used light brown sugar because that’s what I had on hand. Also added the walnuts and followed her stirring instructions to not over mix. Awesome Recipe!

This was amazing! I used this recipe for my grandbabies home economics lesson yesterday. I am homeschooling thrm during this covid-19 shelter in place. It was so good! We added a few chopped nuts on the top. The cinnamon taste so good in this recipe. How can I send you a picture of the final product?

Oh my gawd! This recipe is truly a bomb. I'm not a good cook but I got tons of recommendation. My wife took some to work. I'm telling you that her work has tons of old ladies who's been cooking all their life so they are very picky. They ask me to bake some more. Not bad for my first time baking...EVER. My wife keeps insisting to make it. I made my second one tonight. My 4 yr old even helped me make it last time. So it's really easy.
My question is you mentioned at the very end to butter and flour the container. The first batch I didn't put flour. I just greased it...I think that's the term. I did it today. What's the purpose of the flour combined with butter?
Thank you so much for sharing. It helped me bond with 4 yr old daughter. By the way, she helped me again today. YOU'RE THE BOMB!

Thank you 👏, I followed your recipe, my family loved it.
-I didn't have buttermilk, used sour cream instead.
-I did cut the sugar in HALF, my personal preference.
-Also, before baking, I sprinkled brown sugar on bottom of pan, + on top of bread. It gives a nice crunchy texture to the crust.

You're title was not lying with it said it was the bomb! I made a batch for myself, and I subbed out the cinnamon for nutmeg (I ran out of cinnamon), and I also added a peanut butter glaze on top! ( 1/3 cups of powdered sugar, a tablespoon of peanut butter, and 1/3 cups of milk for a thin glaze). I ate it right when it came out of the oven, and it was basically Jesus. Literally. It's been a day, and I kid you not, the banana bread was better. I microwaved it too. Combination of heaven and deliciousness in my mouth! Can't wait to bake some for my family!

+hannalovesfood Peanut Butter glaze!!!??? do you put that on before of after it's baked??? :D I have been trying to recreate this Banana bread they sell at my uni cafeteria that has a very moist exterior, but haven't been lucky so far Y_Y

    • @hannalovesfood
      @hannalovesfood 8 лет назад +2

+ShenTao this recipe is very moist on the inside!! I overbaked it by 15 minutes, but it was still moist! If you do make this recipe, I recommended checking in it around the 45 minute mark. And for the peanut butter glaze, I put it on after it's baked! I tried it when it came out of the oven and when it was cooled, and both are still delicious!! Good luck :D
