    For those wondering about why their butter hasn't solidified, It does take a lot longer than 10-15 minutes. The pan has to completely cool down. At that point, the butter begins to solidify. Once it begins to solidify, I start gathering the butter into the center of the pan using a silicone spatula. It takes about 30-40 minutes.

      I’d recomendable taking the butter out of the pan once it’s done so that it doesn’t continue cooking and can cool down more easily. To cool it down even more quickly, I placed the butter in a medium bowl, which I then placed inside a larger bowl containing iced water. Check on it every now and then though because it can get too hard without you even noticing. I also recommend giving it a mix or two while it’s cooling because the edges of the butter touching the bowl harden quicker. I haven’t done an official comparison but I think this is quicker than putting it in the fridge because it cools down the plate immediately.

    3:14 Quick Tip, if you're already using a hand mixer, you can use that to mash your bananas. You're gonna be adding it back to your batter anyways so it doesn't matter if some of it gets into it plus you get mashed bananas in seconds.

    Oh my god this banana bread was 10/10! I baked it for about 50 minutes and it was a bit underdone, but it made it soooo moist (almost like a mix between a cake and brownie and banana pudding) and the flavor was absolutely amazing!!! I used less flour and accidentally set it on broiler for the last 10 minutes which made the top charred but holy cow the layer underneath was actually incredible??? My parents love it~ Will definitely make again!!!!!
    edit: I also used only about 3/4 stick of butter without browning(lack of time) and just used a cup of strawberry greek yogurt
    Still kind of amazed that it all worked together so well LOL

    I tried this recipe and mine turned out to be extremely sweet because I had used very very ripe bananas which were completely black on the outside (forgot them in the fridge) so if you're going to use those I recommend adding less sugar or adding only 3 bananas instead of 4. I poked some holes in my bread and drizzled some instant coffee mixed in water to decrease the sweetness. Hopefully it works. Otherwise the bread is very soft and the browned butter smell is really nice

    What i love about the tasty perfect/ultimate recipes is that its really really good, making it the perfect blueprint for my personal improvements, which in turn make them even better according to friends and family. (Its usually me playing with how i treat eggs, how i change the amount of sugar and which sugar, some spices like anise, kurkuma, cinnamon, nutmeg etc etc, and how i treat the butter)
    I still need to find out how and why kurkuma works so great in sweet baked goods, i searched the internet but cant find anything. Like if you add a little bit to apple pie filling or to brownies it does something, you know its there, you can taste a difference but idk what the difference is. Its like magic, hence why i nicknamed it “kitchen magic”

    if you actually want your bananas to be brown faster, put them beside an apple in a bowl in the kitchen for 1 hour, it works, because apples and pears produce 50% more Etygen than bananas, while normally for only a banana that's 5 hours maybe, with apple's 1 hour, I think Tasty put the fruits inside the fridge witch will decrease the time. :)

      hi, do you have a recipe for banana pancake?

    • @AshleyMcClendon
      @AshleyMcClendon 3 года назад +6

      @@imogdl8234 hello, this recipe uses only bananas, no flour and I got references from YT videos. After a few failed attempts I tweaked them to better suit me... but "simply" put:
      • 2 bananas (medium to large)
      • 1 egg
      • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
      • dash of cinnamon (I did this on my own because it pairs well with bananas, can also use nutmeg)
      • butter (for greasing the pan, so amt varies on your preference)
      - in a bowl, mash bananas with a fork (should still have a few lumps, so not too smooth)
      - add the egg and baking powder, mixing until incorporated with the bananas (the overall texture should still have banana lumps)
      - melt butter over medium heat in skillet (my stove ranges from 1-9 so I set it on 5/6 & I found non-stick to work best)
      - I use an ice cream scoop (equivalent to 1/4 cup) and add mix to skillet (like traditional pancakes) letting cook on first side for about 5-7 minutes or until nearly solid on the top half (for visual think of the "bubbles" that form with traditional pancakes) then flip and cook for additional 3-4 minutes or until cooked completely through
      - repeat until done (this recipe makes me about 6-9 pancakes)
      ● NOTE ●
      • These will be about 3-5 inches in diameter, so not large by any means
      AND
      • overall cook time will depend on your stove, but it definitely takes longer than traditional pancakes and it is definitely best to do so on the medium temp because they can burn easily 😉
      These are so delicious and I truly hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask 😊

    I peel the bananas and place them in a freezer zip-lock bag. When I need to use them, I'll pull what I need and save the rest for later. The pulled bananas thaw and break the cell walls. It is far easier to mash and tastes better in the bread. Plus, they're readily available when needed.

      I peel, mash, and freeze my ripe bananas for later use. I don't see how freezing could increase the sweetness though. I am not saying it isn't true. I just don't understand how it could possibly make them sweeter.

      @@pippadawg7037 I don't know how that happens either. Their texture changes, as if they were cooked. They ooze a sweet juice, like a syrup. To me, they taste sweeter. I talk about whole ripe bananas, not mashed ones. Would you wish to try, and check whether the bananas somehow change their sweetness index, or it is just me imagining things? 😄

    That was the recipe I was looking for. We are in a flooded area in Germany and all the helping staff is in need for a lot of calories. Do you have any idea how much calories the Banana bread has?

    • @kimchithatisnicelyfermente4627
      @kimchithatisnicelyfermente4627 3 года назад +2

      It has about 150 calories for a 1/2-inch slice. And I hope y'all in Germany can pass of this flooding disaster, we got our house destroyed by a flood few years ago, so I know it must be really hard.

      @@kimchithatisnicelyfermente4627 It´s horrible, in my neighbourhood 10 minutes to walk down the street, an old castle, a stud farm, a couple of houses an the street itself slipped into a gravel pit. We have military and civil help over here. 30 minutes away, the former Ahrtal (a valley with vineyards along the river Ahr) does not exist any more. 80 bridges are destroyed, as well as buildings and streets. About 150 victims in one night of the flood. We had 160 litres of rain per squaremetre within 8 hours.

    The key in banana bread is use melted or nutty butter instead or vegetable oil or softened butter. All the difference!!

    You can also add a ripe banana to the underripe bananas. This is how they get a hand of green bananas to turn just ripe by the time it reaches the store.
