    I’m 70 years old and I’m not a pilot but I’d give anything to sit next to Max on this beautiful aircraft before I die!

      Can agree. I'm not a pilot too, but being able to operate this aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator simply shows how beautiful this bird is, and how everything is easily displayed and done through the large touchscreens combined with incredible performance from the engines -- truly a supercar in the skies.
      And of course, Max's piloting and his energy.

    Thank you for your salute and your compliment to the “line guys” working hard in the cold weather. My father was a line guy in the Air Force then civil service. These are the things I talked about delivering his eulogy. He worked in the hot and the cold. You are classy to pay such a simple honor. Good flights to you, Sir.

    I was ATC back in the 80s post strike. What amazed me when watching video and comparing to fam flights I took is you push buttons and data appears on screen. Back in the day you would flip pages and have stuff clipped to the yoke. Both enjoyed and appreciated the video

    I am a private pilot, strictly VFR. I fly everything from a J-3 cub to a Steen Skybolt to a Glasair. Even so I can only imagine having the skills you possess to fly that citation. You must have four or five processors running simultaneously in your head to handle the systems, fly the air[plane, respond to ATC, and chat to us during a white out snowstorm ILS approach, all while making it look easy and fun. Outstanding video.

    • @bobby_D
      @bobby_D 3 года назад +7

      I agree he’s extremely competent and he’s a great pilot. I believe though that all pilots at any level would have the checklists out just because you can miss anything at any time because there’s so much to do. I think Max is an elite pilot and what you’re pointing out is one of the reasons he’s so good! I would feel super confident and comfortable as a passenger on any plane being flown by CitationMax!

    That was fun, Max. Wish you talked us through the hand signals. Good stuff.

    • @whipLasch
      @whipLasch 2 года назад +6

      Holds up 2 fingers, then holds a finger pointing up and spins it around: starting engine number 2. Same but only one finger for engine number 1. Ground crew repeats the gesture to confirm the pilot's intention to start each engine, then begins spinning their own finger when they confirm the turbine has begun to spin. After both engines are running and he has confirmed the relay is working and the plane is creating its own power, he makes a knife edge hand, cups the other one, connects the tip of the knife edge into the center of the cup and then breaks them apart to signal the ground crew to disconnect the ground power. Ground crew extends both arms, then bends the forearms up and down to indicate the pilot to move forward. Once the plane is far enough forward, the ground crew keeps their left (our right) arm extended and their right arm bent to indicate the pilot can turn right.

I'm sure some of this becomes second nature, but I'm just blown away at how quickly he goes from one to the next. It reminds me a little of my sister in law commenting on my driving a standard, and how I wasn't paying attention, I was just doing it...she's obviously very easy to impress, and what I was doing, he's doing x 1000! lol

    Last night was really interesting, thanks for being there Max. Could you NOT grease a landing once in a while so we know that your really human.

    Good video! Enjoyed it from start to finish. I am amazed at the technology in the cockpits nowadays! Lots of screens, touchscreens, and more. Very interesting to view. Thank you!

    Hey Max! I'm currently in PPL training here in sunny SC. My dream is to fly Gulfstreams one day. I do have a question for you though. Why did you put the wing de-icing on after it started to build up instead of before?

    Hi Max,
    Your terrific videos are SO enjoyable for me as I’m terrified of flying and you make it all seem SO simple as you clearly enjoy yourself each flight. Very Best Wishes from Davy in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    Thanks for the awesome videos. I flew in and out of Stewart airport several times (not as a pilot)and I really enjoyed the experience. I am trying to get into flight school which is going to be a dream come true and I am learning tons from your videos so keep up the great work.

    Great to see how you handle these take offs and landings in difficult conditions Max, a fabulously smooth landing on a snowy surface. Reminded me of a Finnair flight into Helsinki, I was a passenger on, some years ago !

    Love the ATC shout outs ! I think it's so cool !! That approach and landing was beautiful with all the snow. Another great video Max !!!
