- We’re back on the A350 flight deck for the 11 hour run from Copenhagen to Bangkok, this time with SAS (Scandinavian Airlines). And we’re going to see firsthand what the growing problem with GPS jamming and spoofing looks like for pilots, not only near Russia and Ukraine but also in the Middle East; as we start feeling the effects over Poland and don’t regain normal satellite connections until we reach the Persian Gulf. Apart from that we’ve got a video full of amazing A350 cockpit technology, beautiful views from these massive windows, and much more.

It's so reassuring to see these pilots in action and how aware and professional they are of their surroundings at all times!
True - but the level of professionalism and skills doesn't seem to be the same everywhere. We can only hope that pilots in other parts of the world - who tend to rely more on automated systems and be less confident with identifying anomalies in these systems and flying / navigating manually if needed - will be able to cope with any complex situation they encounter.
It is just because they are being filmed. Normally they just sleep through it.
.
They are very experienced, professional and alert, and very seasoned Pilots, and must say, I admire them.
Also important to note is aircraft is Airbus, not Boeing!!
@@Detvanliga not true, at least in my family and most pilots I fly with don't sleep through any procedure. Were being watched by the company too and most companies follow with this.
Glued to the screen for 40 minutes. This is great content!
same here bro
I must say it’s been much more dangerous than last Middle East Palestinian conflicts in 2012-2013. Even it appears ADSB coverage just started then, it was more assuring and safe to take the trans continental flight. SAS should fly more on arctic Japan routes
Like others said, 40 minutes of pure entertainment, education, and beautiful views. I had no idea there was such a big issue with the jamming and spoofing across Russia/Ukraine. You could see the pilots were very situationally aware during that time. Huge respect to them! Fantastic video!
Thank you!
@@Flightradar24DotCom make a video with a380 please
The gps jamming and spoofing is a real insight from pilots perspective.
Watching this video on Lufthansa's FlyNet on an A359 over Greenland. I love this airplane, its a masterpiece.
Nice!!
That landing was smooth and precisely on the centerline hence the bumping from the centerline lights. The pilot flying even counted down accurately from 4-3-2-1-touchdown (in Danish)! So proud of SAS, I used to work for them for 5 years
I never realized commercial pilots had to deal with so much flying over certain countries. It makes me wonder how domestic flights are within Russia if so many systems aren’t functioning. Kudos to all the crew for dealing so well with everything.
As an Air Force officer (Swedish) I can give a little information about the jamming. The reason the jamming is random and without clear boundaries is because jamming is an inexact business.
When jamming you aim your resources toward the general area that you want to affect. With different methods you can then approximate the effect of your jamming operation
but you will never know the precise reach, boundaries, and outcome. That's why these pilots experience that the jamming is somewhat random, because it is.
Thanks for the info, captain
Possibly your best video yet. What helpful and interesting pilots explaining all their difficulties and even housekeeping in words that even I could understand. I look forward to your videos every week. Keep it up and thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
@@Flightradar24DotComhow do you get into the flight deck in fight like how do you get to ride in the flight deck
@@beauhathaway6627wild guess here: he walks in with the pilots 😂😂😂
@@beauhathaway6627 Email some airlines and ask. Some have policies that mean you won't be able to, and on those that do it is always subject to change until you're actually in the seat on the aircraft as they need to get pilots / other crew home or positioned to the destination for the company etc. These seats always have the lowest priority as well which is why it's rare for this kind of video to be possible. If you email enough people it will happen though!
SAS pilots are some of the most professional in the world. Landing in the arctic cicle aswell as the most busy airports in the world
The best 40 minutes I have ever spend in my life watching these amazing pilots, thank you.
I bet your wife had a fantastic honeymoon 😂
Since I am a SAS stock owner I’m proud to say that I might own one of the screws in that beautiful machine.
Let's hope the bolt is secure 😆
@@jjkanal640 Well, It’s not a Boeing …
@@stefaneriksson9258 If it is Boeing, I ain't going.
I'm sorry to hear that!
Just too bad that we will be loosing our screws as SAS are making the stocks worthless in a short time. Really sad it is!☹
I'm blown away by the technology that allow a flight across what at one point in our not to dim past was the entire known world.
It is amazing yeah
This is literally mind-blowing 🥴🥴more like stepping on a banana peel
Very cool cockpit crew. The Captain is a very nice and friendly person.
Pilots laughing during turbulence, and Im in the back giving my self my last rights~
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way.
Lol same
If it helps there hasn't been a plane accident due to turbulence since the 60's. Modern aircraft are far too well built and designed!
WOW JUST WOW 40 MINUTES OF BEAUTIFUL HIGH QUALITY AVIATION CONTENT NO ONE DOES IT LIKE FLIGHTRADAR24!! CONTINUE THESE VIDEOS PLEASE!!!
Thank you!
Yes. Sas cockpit video👌
I was on this flight back in january. Amazingly comfortable aircraft
Love that A350 ❤, and what an amazing crew 🙂✈️
Best aviation video I ever saw.
What an amazing crew, they were so informative and friendly not forgetting so professional. Interesting to hear how they swap between A350 and A320. Thanks Gabe.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the nice words. I’ll pass them on to my colleagues on the flight deck. Glad you enjoyed it!! Reds Steffen.
I used to fly as cabin crew and on my first supernumerary flight post training, between STN - IST, the f/o casually informed me “we’re being jammed”. Safe to say I nearly evacuated my bowel - crew found it hilarious but were incredibly reassuring 😂
I miss flying so much! Thanks for the great content.
We so enjoyed this. Knowing about what the pilots have to contend with and how they go about the jamming and spoofing - unreal.
Great vlog, lovely Captain i hope more airlines could get on board as well for such vlogs otherwise great work Gabriel and the whole Flightradar24 team 👍
Great video and as a regular long haul flyer the A350 is hands down the best plane for passenger comfort
I found the seats so hard, hurts my tailbone.
@@anitastanley8986 Haha. I live in Thailand. I'm very used to hard chairs and beds
This is a beautifully designed cockpit ❤❤❤ was glued for 40 mins
Glad you liked it!
The A350 is a marvellous aircraft
God, that flight deck is a masterpiece. What an airplane! Thanks so much for making this video.
One of the very best RUclips videos I have watched. Enthralling to watch the professionalism and precision. And all three such nice guys taking the trouble to explain. I was about to book a flight on Qatar. I am going to see if SAS cover the route for me instead.
That’s great to hear, thank you! And yes these guys are certainly top notch!
@@Flightradar24DotComAre they former military pilots? By the way nice vlog. Your vlog where you keep in so much details in the cockpit is perfect for hardcore av fans. The other vlog I have watched from you were when you flown with Finnair, they flew over north pole. Nice. Keep it up! Next time Air China lets get into the perspective of their cockpit environment. I am probably going to fly with them in October
Thanks for the nice words! /the pilot monitoring😊👍
amazing and thank you to all involved
Thank you to the crew
Insane ride man! Thank you for bringing us along!!!
Awesome cockpit video! Thank you to all!
The chemistry between the crew was fantastic! And that landing... 🧈
This is gold, thank you!
incredible trip report as always Gabriel, and also the the SAS crew for allowing this to happen.
Wow! Jamming your flight computer. God bless you guys and ladies in the flying deck!
One of the best aviation vlogs I've ever seen, absolutely awesome.
Clearly a team of top notch team of pilots👍
Those 40 minutes flew by. Loved everything about this! Thank you.
Great friendly crew
really good video that shows how it is in the air in these times, one of the best videos out there! Tack
One of the best videos yet. thank you for this!
Awesome and a tad different video with those inflight issues and how to deal with them. Much appreciated.
The SAS livery on the 350 is one of my favs. While the computer elements of modern aircraft are safe and much more efficient, there’s now two sides of pilot skill and knowledge. One how the aircraft flies, and second how to operate all of the computers. But all they’ve really done is replaced paper EFB’s.
This video is awesome . It's fantastic to see Pilots being so professional at their work. What an amazing lucky experience being in the cockpit !! I enjoyed it that much , I'm watching it a second time !!👍👍
As others have said this is really superb content and I enjoyed every second. Fascinating to hear what pilots have to deal with regarding GPS etc.
Thank you!
Amazing J Cabin, Flight Deck Crew and aircraft. Great and interesting watch!!!
Amazing Gabrielle to witness the flight deck with an Amazing crew & what we never see without your fantastic show, Thanks Mate ✈️💙
Thank you!
all the three pilots were very nice
Wonderful, thank you.
That was absolutely incredible the skill and calmness of that flight crew were just insane great work flight radar 🎉
Älskar SAS och älskar a350. Perfekt video!
Another great vlog......Takk to the SAS crew for a wonderful experience.
Breathtaking! Amazing production ❤
What a fantastic video Gaby.. thx alot 👍
Nice video, fantastic crew. Favourite airline 💙
Nice mix of languages between the pilots, English, Swedish and Danish. Would be even better if one of them were Norwegian 🙂
easy now, tiger ;)
Ahh, nu skal vi vist ikke gå over i det ekstreme. 🤣😉
Not only that, but the languages also of those Asian atcs
mind blown with all the Jamming. wow
Great video. It really shows the atmosphere in the cockpit. Used to work for SAS and it was a great experience.
I have to say your videos are amazing. You are very capable of catching the atmosphere in the cockpit and include valuable knowledge at the same time! Also amazing professional crew and the flight was something very special. Thanks for this content!
The jamming and spoofing is nuts.
Not a problem for an airbus, but a big deal for Boeing.
Thank you !!
Great video! Thank you! Love FR24!
Just one word fantastic and really enjoyable to watch.
Fascinating video, really gave a clear picture of everything the crew deals with on a long haul.
Well Done SAS!!
Amazing, thank you for sharing this great video.
This is by far my favourite types of videos. Thanks!🤝
My favorite type to make too 😎
This video is terrific. Thanks for this job.
Great video! I've actually had the pleasure to fly this exact aircraft from LAX-CPH, really cool to see what goes on upfront. Love SAS and FR24!
Always good to have experienced pilots in the front to deal with situations like this.
Best video so far for Flightradar24, hope for more videos like this 😇
Thanks! Always trying to make more of these!
Congratulations to all of you, what a professional group, beautiful view on the cockpit, thanks.
Amazing vid! Thx

Wow 😀 What a flight deck. Amazing 😀 Lucky you 😀
Excellent video Gabriel.

This is amazing. Thanks for the VDO.
Love your channel
Spectacular aircraft.
Thank you so much for this vlog, a great experience.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video thanks!
Had the opportunity to visit
BA Concorde cockpit , after meal service and 2 hours into the flight. It was hot and snug - like flying in a tube - however the 3hr 20min flight was amazing.
Best Champagne “ Pol Roger, Sir Winston Churchill.
Canapés , caviar , lobster fish cakes , desert , cheese/fruit + 25 year old port.
And after initial decel close to Cape Cod and slowed and fell into JFK traffic at well under mach 1.
Great flight - superb food & a warm ride - it was over way to fast 💨
Sterling silver gifts were handed out with custom cards.
And ur signed supersonic certificate after the captains signature.
Amazing, we’re very jealous!
Outstanding video. Thank you for your hard work putting this content out.
A350 truly is a beautiful machine.
Amazing footage and video! Enjoy the 40 mins of it!
I know it would be a huge privacy and security issue, but sometimes I wish we as passengers had the option to view the pilots in the IFE system. It would help a lot of nervous flyers if they could switch on a camera and see what the pilots were doing during take-off, landing and turbulence. Seeing these guys laughing and chatting during moderate turbulence would have calmed a lot of nerves on that flight.
That was a real interesting video. A good insight of what happens out front...Thanks👍🏻
Fantastic watch 👍
Butter landing!
Watched every second with excitement. Not a thought of skipping and fast forwarding.
