"If you are not doing something, you are doing something wrong" Nice one, Max!
It's only cool if you think it's cool. As a teenage pilot in 1976 I had the privilege, as a paying passenger, to sit in the cockpit from 5 min after takeoff from Iceland to 30 min till landing at JFK. Afternoon flight. Pilot, copilot, engineer, and me. That's the day I changed career paths, never a regrett. But aviation must be in the DNA, my son is a helicopter pilot. It's up to you to do your thing, be you, be safe.
Don`t say that to my kids...
Next do a spaceship.
However, there are times in aviation when it is better to do nothing than to do the wrong thing.
@@theseeker1237 Actually, it's up to the bank account.
Living my pilot dreams through you!
aren't we all

I'm currently pursuing my private pilot license

Every time I see a night flight I always think of the pilots who flew the 101st into Normandy. The only thing they had was a compass to keep them on track. Brave heroes!
I flew the c-47 over the Amazon area. All we had was bad NDBs and a faithful compass. A few times the wind threw us off. What a three years adventure.
Yeah, you can only imagine what they would think of all latest Nav technology. Two extreme ends of the scale.
@@MattyEngland Exactly.
Thanks for sharing this with us. To me it really seems like the hardest part of flying is understanding people on the radio when they talk so fast, especially when they're giving you a long list of instructions to read back to them.
I never understood this. Everything in aviation is so supersafe and redundant, and then there's this ridiculously noisy radio where you really have a hard time imagining what could have been said.
@@W00PIE Well we have readbacks for that. Also you sort of get used to it.
Same here!
But I think while the person in the training sessions he/she will catch and memories the instruction...
A lot of what they’re saying is standard stuff that they say every time. The pilots know what they’re saying and are simply expecting it. Like knowing the script while someone else says it. Lots of safety and regulations talk. Like a if every time you pull into a grocery store parking lot you radio in and say “approaching east entrance 20mi per hour, brakes working, elevation fine, no visual on incoming traffic, gas and engines fine, approaching the same parking spot you told me to approach 30 mins ago”. Then say that every time over and over.
Thank you for being one of the FEW pilot RUclipsrs to show use of checklist in every phase of flight. The use of checklist cannot be overstated.
The visual of city lights and especially large airport lights at night is one of my favorite things about flying. Thanks as always for the excellent video.
Thanks Rob! Definitely cool seeing the night sky and the environment around. Wish the cameras picked more of it up
This reminds me of one of those video games at the arcade that I never had enough tokens to play..
Exactly!
Which one? I think I remember lol.
Man I hated that shit
Afterburner !
I am guessing you don't have enough tokens to play this game either
Listening to pilots simply talk is a treat. Watching one operate and fly like I’m sitting next to them is just awesome. Really blows my mind all the coordination that goes on with one plane and various airspace’s let alone the thousands of flights happening all over at the same time
“Oh! Greased it!“ 😂😂😂
Love night flying! You don’t have to cut out the middle of the flight. I think I speak on behalf of all of your subscribers in saying we would be very happy to see the entire flight no matter how long the video is!😃👍🏻📽🛩
Agreed. Love these videos. I learn so much.
He has a lot of nice landings.
Middle of flights is time to relax a tad. Not completely, but a tad. And you don't want hard evidence out there that some hard-nosed government type might jump on.
@gcam1611 Very smooth landing.
@gcam1611 Basically it's a landing so smooth, you don't even realize you've landed. Arguments will ensue over whether this is a good thing or bad thing. LOL
I love how polite Max is to ATC! 😃
THUMBS UP 👍 TO POLITENESS!!!
If you want better cooperation you gotta be polite to your colleagues mate
Class act. Thanks Max
Being a former controller, I wish there were more Max's during my career. That landing was world class!!
I think he’s an all around good guy! Low key and very down to earth. No ego!!😃
I like how they talked through the radio to ensure everything was right to take-off and always greet each other with "good evening" and, "have a great night". You don't feel lonely at all!
Damn that is so much power especially when flying so light without any passengers. It took off like a fighter jet. Amazing.
Loved how they drove up your car right at the end lol! Great video Max
Thanks for watching!!
New Citation Max and premier1 driver videos the same day, priceless. Pure professionalism!!! Blue skies
Thank you David!
“Turn left when able.” “Alright cool.” Lol
Flying is hours and hours of boredom with a few moments of sheer terror
They even bring your car to you on the ramp. Exquisite.
Or loan you one no charge
Beautiful night flight. I can only imagine how it feels on a quiet night with the plane all to yourself. 👨🏻✈️🥷🏻
This would make me extremely nervous being that I don’t know how to fly.
Love this so much. Great job Max....thanks for taking us along in the right seat.
At 1:51 in the video, love that the crew profile reads "The Best"!
You make every flight seem like a bike ride. Great stuff.
funny you say that cause everytime i ride my motorcycle, i feel like im a flying a jet XD
Dude this is the first video of yours I've seen, and I have to say, seriously great quality video. The go pro on the flex mount above the instruments is so on point. Also you buttered the bread so smooth. Huge respect dude. Liked and subscribed 👍🏻
1:30 this is what I look like to my parents when I reset the router.
what the crap kind of router is that? to reboot/reset/restart a router just power cycle.
@@lm1584 No what that person mean is that how the parents feels like when they're just ''rebooting'' the router
@@lm1584 whoosh
Well done once more! That landing was like pillow soft, and the night flight was a welcome change! The update will be a interesting change, getting rid of the cockpit clutter, watching P1D in his checklist makes it a seamless interaction.
Thank you!! Appreciate you watching. Take care
Great that you're not leaving us all in the dark about things.
Beautiful, beautiful videos. Thanks for making them.
I have been watching alot of aviation vlogs, and it's awesome see this man talk all commands as if there was a copilot, I guess it's just a reflex after a long time of doing the same thing . I love the video makes me feel like a virtual pilot.
I really love night flight videos especially inside the cockpit! Hope to see more videos like this in the future!!!
Another great flight! I love the way you recite every item on a checklist even though there may be no one listening. You're my instructor (sim only) my role model. Be safe.
Brilliant video, amazing, safe flying brother !
Great video Max! Really cool seeing a different perspective during a night flight. Keep up the awesome videos!
This is the Pilot you want on every flight, you make flying seem so easy!!
Great video Max!
Nice Max... ALWAYS stay AHEAD of the plane!
Terrific aero parlance. Always loved aeronautics and avionics..bravo ten four!!
Best aviation vlogs ever Max...You make it look easy! Keep'em coming; Fan for life!
Very inspiring keep it going my dude!
Another great flight Max. I always enjoy your professionalism both as a pilot and in your microphone handling technique. It's always great to ride along in the right seat with you. Wishing safe flights always.
YOU ARE GREAT.
AND VERY CALM!
HAPPY LANDINGS!!!👍
Dusk and dawn flights are always interesting. Thanks! I love these videos.
Another great video. I'm building time watching your videos. Sadly, my left seat time has ended, so I appreciate 'flying time' with Max.
Thank you for posting this - I love watching flying vids esp night flying.
It's amazing of all the Stuff you have to do and remember! The night flying is very cool. ✈️
First video of this guy and it was awesome. After combing through the comments, nothing but positive things about him. Subscribed!
Night flying looks so awesome but spatial awareness may be lacking for me anyway
O yes, it is. Not only for you. When I did my first night flying lessons shortly after my ppl, my landings were , how to put it mildly, rather rough. No sense of relative height, „VFR“ very hard and only possible in very familiar regions along major roads, but it was kind of a preparation training for late landings after a VFR flight. It is awkward not to do this in IFR..
Duh. Get your IFR rating.
@@JohnRohoboth already have, and cpl/atpl. 😄

I just started getting into aviation and these videos are awesome! Can't wait to learn more as time goes on
get a scanner too :) its a real radio, better than online
Wonderful and enjoyable videos! Makes me miss my Mooney 201 45T, but feel so blessed to have enjoyed my decade enjoying that boyhood dream!
It’s great to experience the flight at night as well. Great job Max!
Great video. Would love to see a full flight one day, from cold & dark to finish. 👍
Absolutely love some night flying. It felt like I was right there beside you tagging along, thanks!
BTW, late nights now when I'm flying in X-Plane from Kitchener/Waterloo Canada, I've started making regular flights to White Plains :D
Just found this channel really enjoy your perspective. Thank you.
Really amazing, thank you for sharing with the world.
Max, you're absolutely professional. Thanks for sharing your flying. 🤟
Thanks John! That means a lot. Take care
Beautiful night flying! Actually quite soothing to watch, I love it!

Totally soothing. CM’s videos helped me get thru a brutal cold this week!
this is awesome. Thanks for taking us with you!
Nice to see you getting some night time in the log book...cameras were fine...appreciate the different perspective and a night landing that was excellent...well done as always!
Loved the night flight!
Elliot is a great guy very professional and a great pilot. Awesome video max!
Yup, he’s the best! And thank you…. appreciate it
So peaceful watching you fly
It must be amazing to “just” take off into the night and be aline with yourself!
Let's see...Dinner with a bud and a nice night flight in a multi-million dollar jet. Max, u da man!
Ditto what Marshall wrote. Instead of a boring car ride home, Max does a night flight, with beautiful instruments in a super nice jet!. How you can remember everything the ATC tells you is beyond me! U Da Man!
Ha! Love the seatbelt sound!
I'm blown away - jealous in a nice way. Very, very good video man...
Flying has never been so up close and personal...
I am so envious! Great job!
Hi Max thank you so much for these videos! They’ve helped me so much in my road to getting over my fear of flying. Seeing you in complete control and the whole process of each flight is so reassuring and makes me feel much more comfortable being on a plane. Can’t thank you enough!
Thanks so much for watching! Take care

Great video Max, I loved doing a night flight!
You're such a gentlemen, really love this content. Thank you brother.
Very good stuff Max really enjoyed the night flight!! I hope to catch one of your MSFS 2020 live streams at some point! Stay safe out there.
The training and time needed for certification adding in a little love for the flying definitely adds up to a major life achievement! Well done sir!
Any flight with you is second to none. Always informative, clear and constantly show us the technical info on the MFD's etc. Cheers
Thanks so much! Means a lot. See ya on the next video.
Quality video and even better narration. Well done.
I enjoyed the window into this experience. Many thanks for sharing
Marshmallow landing! I really appreciate your commentary, especially for this " want to be pilot" that never was! Two of my best friends are now retired "heavy pilots" .... so I get razed a lot! :)
Love your and Premiere 1 videos. I’m not a pilot but it seems to me your plane gets moving fast and up in the air quickly on takeoff. Enjoyed the night flight.
Thanks for Watching Ken! Take care
Awesome! Used to be first officer on a 560 XLS. Great Aircraft. Miss the GA
Good stuff! Not a manned pilot, or even planning to become one, but do have my Part 107 sUAV certification, which has helped to peak my interest in wanting to fly along with you and learn stuff! Thanks for the great videos!
Wow that's dark. That's terrifying.
So P1D says look at Max's videos, so this was a good 1st one to watch, loved the closeup details on the fms.
Thank you very much! Welcome to my channel. Greg is the best
Loved it! Looking very forward to your west coast series!
I am enjoying your videos as well as what went wrong videos. Your level of professionalism and care would make me feel comfortable taking a nap in cabin...
Max.(A million) thanks for providing something entertaining to watch this evening :-)
Thanks for watching! Take care
Your one lucky chap flying that jet and living your dream , I’d love to fly with you
Did he buy BTC in 2012?? Lol
Hello Tim from Maryland. I love your flying show thank you for sharing 👍👍
Wow, just wow! The communications, your checklist, everything are amazing!,
Max.....you and Greg with your awesome footage!! Keep it up!!
Thanks Michael! Appreciate you watching.
What an awesome skill to have. I remember messing around with MS Flight Simulator when I was young and one day I decided to do it right and go to MS "Ground School". Well....let's just say it wasn't very fun and it was really tough to master all of the technical stuff...I gave up and went back to messing around. I respect a commercial pilot more than I respect a surgeon (and I really respect surgeons)...
These are splendid. More of these, please.
Smooth Flight 👏😎 This brought back many Happy Memories when I used to Fly with My Precious Step Father ❤❤❤ Great video 👏 He was One Awesome Pilot ❤
Great video. Nice job on the camera work, it's so hard to film well at night. Would love to see a detailed walk around preflight inspection. Also, what keeps you up at night about night flying?
I don't fly and never have but watching you eases my fear (maybe not enough to fly) but if I was famous, I'd definitely want someone like you at the wheel for sure. You have confidence, and control over what you're doing. Excellent 👌
Always the epitimy of professionalism, Max, I so enjoy watching your videos, you are defrinately an inspiration to any aspiring pilots. I can tell you worked hard to get threre. Well done.
This is a really great video! I can feel flying through this one.
Great videos Max, definitely make us feel like co-pilots on the right seat 💺 👍
I did a tour of the Portland ATC with my instructor early in my flight training 33 years ago. It was fascinating, I think people would like to see it if they would allow it these days. I know I’d like to see how things look in comparison to back then.
I go back 41 years. Did night flights w instructor from PNE, to PHL & back, also to an airfield w/o a tower somewhere in PA. But the most awesome one was piloting at night an A-36 Bonanza from IND to PHL flying over Pittsburgh in a clear night.
I am watching this late at night, and I also would have enjoyed watching this entire clip. I am glad you had a safe flight.
The fact that you do this so effortlessly is dumb-founding. Props to you. Fantastic video as well!
You should get a passenger to film their experience flying in the citation that would be a cool video
I would like to volunteer
@@colinsouthern I volunteer as tribute for Colin Southern :)

I really like your awesome attitude and positive vibe. Great video.
Great advice on always looking at the next 1/2/3 step(s) ahead.
BTW - love your systems knowledge on the FMS. Nice work Single pilot IFR at night. Not as easy as you make it look :)
