Driving thru Chicago traffic to a cold, damp airport then breaking thru the clouds to bright sunny warm blue skies, crappy weather and gridlock below you. Man and machine all alone, enjoying a bit of heaven....priceless!!
warm 😂👍🏻
Best feeling ever
One tip: wait about 5 seconds after acknowledging a frequency change before changing over. That way if you get the frequency wrong in the readback, ATC has time to catch it before you leave the frequency. Great video.
kinshasaAPP good advice thank you!
True, and it kills me when ATC combines a frequency change with a control instruction. What happens when you read it back wrong and leave the frequency?
True. Many have died needlessly.
@@steveorshon you mean like, "bugsmasher yankee Zulu turn right heading 070, maintain 2,000 until established, 170 knots to five miles, you are cleared for the ILS 10L. Contact the tower at the marker, 119.9." ? It's 'fun' getting shot-gunned with instructions when you couldn't possibly be busier.

I love how the lil cirrus jet is around those big 777s. Kinda like me when I hang out with my football friends
Being a pilot seems extremely complicated. Hats off to all you pilots out there.
Right ,only genius minds are able to operate aircraft..we are all some of the smartest guys on the planet ...
It’s a lot easier aircraft wise now then when I was flying a KingAir in 1979. Thank y’all for technology is come with the screens and all.
Its not that much
Not if you do it all the time and if you don’t then you shouldn’t.
Just a lot of training...
This is one of the coolest cockpits I have ever seen! Beautiful
Phenom 300 is even better, larger displays, 3 10-15" MFD. It costs 10m though. >.>

I've been a passenger through O'Hare before and I was awed by the size of this airport. I remember being amazed that it took 30+ minutes just to taxi back to the gate after touch down. This place is HUGE!
Gateway to the Midwest. ✌🏻🇺🇸
Yeahhhhh, O'Hares not that nice lol
@@Gabrocol Its the home for many aviation lovers so be nice. Its def not the nicest airport but its home, home doesn’t have to be perfect.
@@robburgundy9539 I've lived in Chicago all my life. O'Hare is home to ONE more aviation lover, ME. And yes, I'm shitting on O'Hare. I don't like the airport, it needs an update. My flights are always late.
@@Gabrocol I love O'Hare but FUCK that t5 extension
There's absolutely no room for error in this man's/woman's game. It's very clear that this isn't for a novice flyer, following the ATC chatter, remembering all the callouts and on top of operating your machine is not an undertaking for the easily confused. Fantastic job.
As an FA out of chicago it’s nice seeing firsthand how ridiculously busy traffic is at ord. I have to explain this to passengers all the time when they ask what took so long to take off. ORD is so common to have a 20-30m taxi time.
cockpit looks like a cross from a new car to a star trek shuttle craft. Great video! Loved the Gulfstreams and Swift 737 at the beginning.
I absolutely love the Vision. Phenomenal aircraft. Now if only it was more affordable!
Just did my first xc flight yesterday as a student pilot. Also my first time speaking with an ATC. The dialogue in the video was super helpful and made it easier for me to understand the way things work! Thanks!
congratulations thats awesome! glad it was helpful! good luck!
Listen to www.liveat.net to learn all of it.
That's exactly what I thought, it would help new comers into aviation.
I have no idea why I watched this. but I enjoyed it. Very clean communication.
I totally agree. I am a pilot and sometimes wonder what the heck some of the pilots and controllers are saying. They talk fast, lazy talk.
Note: He gets to the takeoff runway at about 18:15.
LONGGGGG Taxi!!
waaaaayy too long a taxi
Thank you so damn much lol I caught your time at 2.00
Francis Flood It’s a taxi, when you have a smaller jet with busy airport, many planes landing they have to stop to let planes land
@@francisflood8921 have you seen the taxiways at ohare?
So beautiful , reminds me of the first time i ever flew , it was emirates economy , i remember looking at the snow capped mountains , that feeling just returned

Controller: "fine"
Yeah, he has no problem keeping it "250 until advised" on that O'Hare 5 departure.

As an aircraft mechanic at O'Hare, I do a lot of taxiing around, bringing airplanes from the maintenance ramp to the gate and vice versa. Communication with ground can be very intimidating during peak pushback/arrival time. Nice radio work by the way.
Hey Jerry! very cool! must be intense taxiing at ORD everyday! thanks for your kind words! thanks for watching

Jerry, I'm gonna be going to A&P school in a few months. I have a question. When you get your cert, are you permitted to inspect aircraft like one would inspect a car? Does it work that way, on top of more commonplace maintenance checks?
@@davecrupel2817 I guess it depends on what type of inspections the aircraft is going through. For GA stuff, if you are performing annual inspections, you are required to have an inspection authorization certification from the FAA. You will not be permitted to earn that endorsement until you have been an A&P for at least 3 years. If you go the route of regional airlines and get into a hangar, every task you complete will have to be looked at and signed off by an inspector. There are also specific tasks that are called RII (Required Inspection Items) that require a mechanic that is RII qualified. Getting RII qualified is up to the company that hires you. If they feel comfortable with your ability, they will send you to RII class and you will be able inspect work being performed (watching fasteners being torqued, ensuring cotter pins and lockwire are properly installed and making sure that the task has been performed in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual and the company's General Maintenance Manual). To make a long story short, inspections will be part of your daily life as an A&P.
Dude I cannot say thank you enough for putting the charts up on the screen. I’m working on my instrument rating currently so this is a great learning opportunity
This was just beautiful in every imagination of perfection. So quiet I had to max out the audio to hear the engines purr, than only heard the wind. Most beautiful. Thanks, let’s see more
How these big airports manage all the planes is incredible!!
you should see the landing space its like one plane every 45 seconds or so and if you look up in the air you see them staggered 2.5 miles behind each other in a line as far as you can see
I think a single engine taxi would have been more efficient ... oh wait ;-). Killer ride, Max.
haha! thanks buddy.
From one pilot to another, very nice to hear you work the radios.
Jim G Thank you Jim!!
Flew in my younger days with my father who was a private pilot. Owned several Cessna's which I still track the reg numbers to see where they are today. Watching your videos and the multitasking and skills needed for flying jets is many many levels above what I remember in the cockpit. One non aviation comment, the air vents in that Cirrus on the firewall are identical to the ones found in an F-150 lol.
When all my idiot "friends" tell me they'd rather drive than fly, this is the type of video I love to show them. Excellent video from the left seat of the Cirrus Vision Jet and I appreciate you taking us along for the ride! Breaking out on top of the crud is always breathtaking!
Ellexis Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I have flown this plane many times, it is very easy to drive and intuitive
Great video, editing and camera views. Love seeing the Vision Jet. In 2005 I had delivery position #19. Go Cirrus!
Thanks very much Todd! wow you had a early position very cool! i was #62 cirrus really is a great company.
Still waiting.
Nice flight Max! And the jet is quite the upgrade over your last ride! I saw some pretty nice climb rates in there!
Thanks Greg! it sure is a upgrade. really happy you enjoyed the video!
I love ❤ I love ❤
Thanks for the ride! This video have me a chance to admire the unique "stepped" panel. Very interesting indeed!
Cool plane, really quiet.
More fuel on taxiing than flying ...
India forced prostituion
@mike x that’s that I was thinking
Longggggg ride to take off $$$$$$$
@Mike X Nope, you wouldn't wanna put the load on a Cold engine (Engine which was off for a long period of time) directly to the max thurst for the take off, taxing is great way to warm up the engine and check if the fuel valves and various system s are fine. You don't wanna be 100 feet off the ground and your engine goes off because there was a clog in the fuel line.
Idling always uses far less fuel, plus it has the added benefit of warming up the engine…
I absolutely love the Vision Jet. Well I love Cirrus in general. Please don't stop making videos of these. I'd also love to see videos of the maintenance and what not.
This was the first in-flight Cirrus Vision Jet Video I have watched on RUclips. I have goosebumps!! That was the coolest!! Thank you and PLEASE post more.
CirrusSR20Pilot Glad you enjoyed it! More coming soon!
Enjoyable watch man, I kinda like how aircraft dash's are looking a bit more like a motor vehicle, its aesthetically more relaxing although by no means should be viewed as an easy entry to flight!
What an amazing plane. Another masterpiece by Cirrus
Tesla of aircraft indeed.
Going into the archives! That was a very extended taxi situation there. As always, thanks for taking us along Max!
Cirrus has the nicest interiors i love their planes have detailed a few
It is a nice aircraft, but it's under powered
Amazing, as soon as they get above the clouds it is so mesmerizing just watching on you tube can't imagine what it was like actuailly sitting in the plane! Thank you for sharing with us!!!
this guy sounds like a military pilot, hes got that smooth roll to his voice
They are both military, guy on right has some kind of service ring, and the way he talks to the left seat hey may have been higher rank when they or he was in.
Right seat passenger would make me crazy, he can't stop diddling the knobs. He is very uncomfortable not being in control.
@@A_Man_In_His_Van oh shut up, like you could do better.
That must look so funny from the tower, seeing all these huge airliners and suddenly here comes this little one engine jet mixed in among the big boys. LOL
I can imagine the tower controller saying to his buddy "OMG, I think a 777 lost his engine on the taxi way" and his buddy responds "No, dumbass that's a Cirrus jet". LOL
I do it routinely in a C208. ORD is probably the easiest airport to get in and out of as long as you know what to do. Driving into ORD, that's a different story.
@@tc0330 into ORD is okay, it's the drive out that causes issues lol
@@tc0330
I know small aircraft fly in to O'Hare, I was just joking. I know about the drive to O'Hare, because I worked as a driver for American Taxi inc from 2005 till 2009 while going through flight training and I had to drive back and forth to O'Hare at least 4 times a day, so I experienced what driving is like going to and from O'Hare. I am surprised I didn't lose my marbles driving to and from O'Hare. Before I drove a cab I always laughed when someone said that cab drivers job must be hard and I would always laugh and say they have a very easy job, but after driving a cab for 4 years I have huge respect for the drivers that have been doing it for 20 or 30 years and I understood why some cab drivers drive like crazy, because you wouldn't make any money if you drove like a 90 year old lady. To drive a cab around Chicago you have to have nerves of steel, which I do not have, but I made it for 4 years.
Alot of work went into this joke.
Aviation Nut ha that’s a good one!
0 mins to 17 mins of this dude just tryna get to his runway to take off, makes me appreciate my little piper just a little bit more because they get ride of me ASAP 😂😂
Flying now for some 36 yrs and I'll just say nice work young man.very detail oriented.well done

I've been waiting for this day for atleast a year - this day being when somebody posts a video detailing a full length takeoff and flight in the long awaited Cirrus Vision Jet - thanks for sharing the experience with us. @@CitationMax Well that's a very positive thing your doing man. Congrats on your new jet and see you next time you pass over James Madison airport lol i'll probably hear you at the very least though because it sounds like the world is ending when commercial airliners pass right above my neighborhood every day, I imagine the Vision will sound better.
This is my O'Hare and I have flown out of this busy airport so many time...Chicago was my base with United.
Hey Max, the visually-interesting long ORD taxi is welcomed. We can't get to the runway without it. Not many GA crews get to taxi O'Hare. I enjoyed it.
When I taxiied our club's SR20 at JFK, it was a cool and different experience. No prob, bro.
Windtee thanks so much buddy! Glad you enjoyed it. It’s a experience I think people should see and know about.
anybody else think it's just cool to taxi big iconic airports? i wouldn't mind...
You say that now 😭
i air taxied in my robi 44 at an int airport once... lol. that was scary. i was a student. there were times i was WAY too close to jets..
I hangar at an Intl airport and it gets busy... 737...737...737....me in an RV-7. I constantly ask for an early left or right turn on departure, because I can feel the big fellas breathing down my neck😲
It’s fun the first time after that it’s just a waste of time.
When it's your fuel you're burning, no
What a gorgeous aircraft! Always had a Learjet 24 on the wish list, especially since it’s so affordable.. but man this baby just purrs. So quiet. Plus single pilot!!
My sweet home Chicago. I like your front seat man idea with clearing the water off the shield. Incredible flying this amazing little bird.
Where’s my X-Plane 10 mobile boys at?
😂😂 we r here mate but the problem is i hava a distinct dislike for this plane in the game because its abit more sensitive to movement compared to the rest

It’s on XP11 as well
Wow that’s a lot of Garmins, now that’s a modern cockpit!
Have to refuel before takeoff because of the taxi....
Idling time on turbines is super costly in several ways.
@@Nicholas-f5 cough *Concorde* cough
@@knoodelhed Concorde was given priority taxi for numerous reason including high fuel cost and reducing noise pollution impact
Depends, if the plane is parked for months, best way to warm up the engine is taxiing. You don't want the engine to blow on you after takeoff especially on a cold start and putting on max thrust. But surely it does take a lot of fuel. And fuel isn't cheap.
Basement Haunter idling uses the least amount of fuel, they’re prob taxing about 10 or 15% as supposed to the 100% and then 80% when flying. Also standing still drains maybe a couple gallons.
Very nice video. I enjoyed watching the the Cirrus Vision Jet in the early days during testing at the Duluth location.
It's great you put the map and route when ATC speaks it helps so much to understand what's going on

I guess one cannot be in too much of a hurry when flying out of Chicago! Looks like it took you almost half and hour just to get to your runway! Love your aircraft's panel. So high tech.
The Garmin flight deck in the SF50s is a great example of a glass cockpit for a corporate jet done right. I love this thing, even if I only get to fly the XP11 default one.
Also, damn, that taxi. Thank god I fly out of a delta for my flight training.

Great video. I work at ORD and taxi planes for multiple airlines. It's fun to watch this video and recognize the majority of the ATC voices and taxi routes.
