So I have an HF antenna in my attic, I live in a townhouse so can't do it outside. It's a 102 ft wire, 51 feet either side (negative and positive) so it's pretty much an inverted V up there, and connected to my ham radio (I'm a General Class operator) I can talk all around the world with 100watts of power.. It's pretty neat, and yes I can tune in and listen to the checking in of aircraft. It's pretty cool. I can hear pretty much everything that uses radio signals.. you'd be surprised how much radio traffic there is out there!

Been watching you guys a while now i didn't think i could get my licence as i need reading glasses now. Well that's not a problem so at 50 years old i finally have the opportunity to actual do this, just waiting now for my 1st lesson going thru Strike Aviation here in Queensland Australia. Thanks for all your video's mate and getting me to believe i can achieve this. So going back to Uni for a Bach of Science and doing my Pilots licence never thought i would ever get to do this. Thanks again for all the content and i will be watching so much more now as to learn how to be as good a pilot as you. :)

(He retired early when covid blew through) When he was on an a/c (usually the A321) with an HF radio he used to make contacts all around the world while in cruise!! He even carried a handheld 2 meter radio and I made contact with him while he was roughly over I-95 in eastern NC @ 36K'(?). Max, when I was born in 1954 my Dad owned a Tri-Pacer. I don't remember flying in it. I do remember when my older brother took his first lessons and later my Dad and brother bought into a group that owned a Cherokee Arrow. I did fly in that nice little Piper many times while in high school. Later my brother went into business for himself and owned a Bonanza then he bought a King Air that he used in his business for many years. I have loved airplanes all my life. Took lessons in the Cherokee but didn't ever solo. I enjoy your videos and amazed at your style and class as a top notch pilot. What a dream life to fly and manage such a beautiful private aircraft as Romeo Foxtrot! Just wanted to reach out with a pat on the back and thanks for the channel.

Hey Max, I was flying on Vatsim out of New Haven on the 4th thinking "This controller sounds a lot like CitationMax". I had no clue until someone said it. You handled the JFK rush perfectly! Great vid and thanks for the network service!
