It's always how it goes with the long flights. The excitement of departing on a long journey followed by the realization you're going to have a virtual plane on autopilot for the next several hours.
Back in the "good old days" (FSX), I did a non-stop flight from Bermuda to the Azores in a Boeing 314 using celestial navigation. Flight/attitude stablisation yes, autopilot no. Meal/coffee and bathroom breaks were kinda "interesting". 😆 Flight time was - as far as I recall - also well over 10 hours.

So happy to see you fly one of these old beauties. This is the plane that I flew in my first long haul flight, a Lufthansa transatlantic 11h flight, back when in-flight entertainment consisted of screens on the ceiling showing whatever movie the crew decided to show that day.
"So it's basically a game where people pretend to be Airline Pilots and Air Traffic Control?" "Yeah, with surprising realism." "And you find this fun to play?" "God no! I watch some guy on RUclips play it."
To be fair the realism is what makes it fun. You know its good when you hear squeakers every now and then. And it makes me appreciate this game and hobby as well. The same can be said about any other game really. Some people simply have different tastes and different hobbies and thats completely fine. I would never see myself playing a train sim game but at the same time I have 400 hours on euro truck sim.
Brings back childhood memories of seeing how close the buildings were as my plane made the approach to Kai Tak (I flew on a Cathay Pacific B747-200 from YVR that time), a fascinating treat that plane enthusiasts today can no longer experience in real life.
Oh my god, I was flying from YMML to YSSY at that time. Either I missed you or that Aussie accent was REAL GOOD. Been waiting for a flight from my country for ages...thanks heaps AFP! Great vid as always :)

The proportions are off on Kai Tak. The turn from the checkerboard is a lot tighter, and the runway is a lot narrower. Its why you had a lot of engine strikes back in the day.
What a coincidence. I just had a flight with an A340-300 Cathay Pacific in MSFS2020 too (4 hours instead of 10+ from Osaka to Hong Kong), and quitted a few minutes ago. Now I see this video being uploaded 24 minutes ago.

Longest one I ever did was back in FSX. An Interflug (East German) A310 from Berlin Schönefeld to Havana, Cuba. Man, that thing was *light* by the time I touched down. Nice autopilot on the A300 and A310 though. Made it a pleasure.

I have since done LHR-PER with the B787 and LHR-SYD with the B748i. The LHR-SYD one took some planning, as I manually selected the flight path on winds aloft to make sure I made it. It meant flying NNE out of London and due east for ages, then turned just after India to head SSE, eventually picking up the fast westerlies over Western Australia to take me into SYD. I was crapping myself on the landing because it was a 20-hour flight and I really didn't want to stuff it up.
When u said sit the fuck down in the announcement. Straight after a baby started to cry. Good job on making a child cry.
Making children cry is literally in every first officer's job description.
I dunno why you're congratulating him, it's pretty easy to do.
