  • 11 meter conversion for Stryker 955. Don't touch anything inside and do not transmit on 11 meter. It is illegal!

      Glad to help and sorry it was so drawn out. I'm new at youtubing. If you have any questions, let me know.. I wouldn't adjust any of the pots inside of the radio. If you really want, You can increase the AM MOD pot a little, I would recommend using a modulation meter to set it to 100% modulation but no more than that.. 73s

    for all the talk about these radios i dont hear many on the air and LITERALLY only one that i have heard sounded good on ssb

      People like them because they light up.. Anytone 6666 is a better radio for 1/2 the $

    Could you please do a vid on 11 meter freq for rci x9 ? I know that it is easily convertible by just moving some connector or jumper or something , but have been unable to find any specifics anywhere , which seems odd considering there are multiple articles and vids on how convert the 955

    After the 11m mod do you need to do an alignment on the frequency?

      When you say alignment do you mean receive alignment or transmit alignment? If you could get it to an actual CB technician it might increase your receive a little bit but I don't think anything needs to be done besides removing the resistor

    I really like what I see in the 955 but, why do all the newer surface mount radios seem to have such awful white noise in the receive?

      I'm not an expert but my guess would be poor quality components that are possibly slightly out of spec

      For what it is it's a pretty good radio but it's not going to perform like a older Kenwood or Yaesu. Those have dedicated filter circuits for each band and eachs mode

      Poor factory tunes,some parts do need a swap,noise floor lower along with an alignment...My 955 is quiet all the time except when certain cars go by or i pass a massive power station kinda thing..Otherwise my volume is up to 25%-50% no squelch and rf wide open..Need a better tech than your useing..

    Ham license doesn’t make you legal to transmit above 4 watts am or 12watts ssb fot 11m

      License allows me to experiment, modify and use on 10 meter ham band. I like to open up RX and TX in case of emergency

    What makes you think turning those cans will give you more power? They are for tuning if for AM FM and so on..

      1:58 I clearly say if you want to screw up your radio , mess with the pots. And those pots are AM /SSB power and AM Modulation

      Most people who know what they're doing would advise against that. The only thing I would say is slightly turning up the modulation pot if you want to increase the modulation. But I would not crank it up all the way and also take notes of the pots location before you adjust

      If you're serious then look inside of the radio and look for the white arrow It's a very small surface mounted component

      You have to be a licensed ham operator to operate on the 10-meter band. Anyone can buy these radios. If you watch my other video about export radios I explain in more detail. Essentially anyone can buy this radio . From the factory this radio will not operate on the CB band.. it is an FCC violation to use this radio on CB band but it is possible to modify it to do so. I am not encouraging illegal Behavior

      @@RogerSayers no problem, the 10m (28 mhz) band are the frequencies slightly above the CB band (27 Mhz) which is also referred to as the 11-meter band.. most export radios are simply sold and marketed as a 10 meter radios to get around fcc requirements

      On the v2, You have to solder a jumper wire And then turn the radio on holding a few different keys and there's a secret menu

    What is the frequency spread of a 955 converted?

      It goes up to 30 MHz 10/11/12 m band. It will also transmit on the 12 Meter band. 24.mhz

      Most likely, I'm not sure but check the board you if you see an arrow pointing to a resistor then remove that resistor

      If you removed the correct one,do you have the stryker software and the cable?
      If yes then go into it and chk the freq list..

      It has a few band plans. You want Band D for 11 meter

      Are you sure you remove the correct resistor that had the white arrow pointing to it ?did you ever get your radio going? Make sure you are on ' band D( maybe band 4)' .. there is a bans button.. switch it over to band and then use your channel selector to put it on band D or Band 4.

      Honestly I'm not sure but open up the radio and look for the arrow if you see an arrow that's the resistor you need to remove

      @@NunYa953 it's the way they make their money. I would suggest just removing the resistor and don't touch anything else in the radio. The Radio setup from the factory to run at its peak.. if you turn up the power or increase the modulation you can damage the radio or make it sound like s***

      It's a better radio that cost less money and you don't have to solder anything to convert it also it does Side Band which you don't have to use but it's nice to have

      My kenwood ts940 is open on 11 meter. I use it to monitor 11 meter only. I do not encourage illegal behavior in this channel.

      I'm not. I'm showing people how to open up the radio for wideband rx. Why is it ok for HRO to charge people to do the 'MARS' mod on Icom 7300s but I can't listen to 11m on my 10 meter radio?
