I ran 4 gauge power wire from the battery and a 3 foot 4 gauge ground wire from a very solid ground point in the car. Grounded all the way down to the metal. On the power and ground I have a single 4 to dual 8 gauge distribution block for the amp I ordered. 4 pill 2879 fatboy. Which is why I went to big on the wire. Good clean power and ground. No difference in receive noise when I start the car. In some of my vehicles in the past I would get a little bit of engine noise when the car was running vs being off. Can’t wait for the amp to come in.
Unfortunately the 955v2 TX audio is washed thru a digital filter and has a constant low level distortion that you can't suppress. Sounds like digital hash from a cheap DACS.
Thanks for letting me know. Does the low level distortion change along with the audio bandwidth selection ?
Where can we get the version 2
Sorry. I see where. Lol. Just have to read a little. 🤦♂️
@@244-badnews2 No problem !

Weird, I used to be subscribed to Dave's RUclips channel and somehow was unsubscribed. He has some helpful videos. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate your videos as well.
I want them to have something like a spectrum analyzer/waterfall display sort of think on them to show what's on the near by bands and side bands
Would be nice. Like overlay over the meter... that meter screen is big enough...
@@EricTechstuffs right. Like instead of it showing the 955/655 and clarifier counter or call sign, have it show the neighboring frequency like SDRs do
Hi Eric I’m a new subscriber & I liked the new 955 & can you tell me where you ordered you’re radio… & for the haters that don’t like the 955 to bad … it’s not there radio it’s yours… enjoy it thanks

Hey Rick ! Thanks for the sub ! I got this via Clean Wave. If you can find one anywhere (supply chain) grab it !! If you find one and it’s not converted it’s easy to do! Thanks for watching and subbing up ! 1200 SC waving !
@@EricTechstuffs are you on Facebook or Instagram? Need some questions if I may
Hey rick you can hit me up at erictechstuffs@gmail.com and I'll do my best to answer your questions.
@@EricTechstuffs thanks Eric
Would be nice. Like overlay over the meter... that meter screen is big enough...hmmm...
how to convert it to 11m ?
It depends on the version of the version 2 - the very early has a white jumper wire by the ribbon cable that needs to be cut.
@@EricTechstuffs Mine I had to solder a jumper wire, then turn ham mode off, then restart your radio. Also there is no coils to tune for power. It's is done from the menu. I really like this radio. It's a loud talking radio. On CB channels mine dead keys at like 14 watts and swings just over a hundred. I'm still a little confused about how to use some parts of the radio. Like ctcss is built in. I don't see where to plug in a tone board.
These 955s apparently have nice electronics but what Stryker sees as “bling” I see as “looks like Disneyland” totally distracting and out of place in my car. I want something that blends in with the rest of my car’s electronics. The design is hokey.
I can agree with that as well ! Blending in is key in a mobile. Thanks for watching !
Did you pull the relay out yourself for the channel expansion mod? Or was that a extra mod from your supplier.
This one came this way. Most will already be ready to go from 24-30
did you already sell your other one or do you still have it....
I still have it for now
@@EricTechstuffs how much do you want for it
@@zacfabbri2691 I am not sure yet. I am working on an Alnico DX-70 so, if all goes well it will replace many of my radios !
Oh ok well let me know
Do we get the video without pants? Lol
Cómo hace para poner frecuencia 27?
si es la versión uno, es la resistencia con la flecha apuntando hacia ella. si el primer lote en v2 es el cable de puente blanco para quitar. Espero haberte ayudado.
may be it is has the vents!
COOL.
They don't have a Stryker set up how I want one. I like to have the extra channels as they do have the AM, FM, LSB and USB. Two guys left Galaxy to start up Stryker, you think they would have carried much more stuff over.
The v2 has a lot more options... compression, wideband audio, built in CTCSS for 10 meter repeaters check the new one out, could could be surprised !
Also Coverage is 24.00-30.105 should give you any channel you want.
@Travis Chapin The Stryker SR-955HPC has all the extra channels, what are you talking about?
I’ve always wondered about that program cable. I have a 955, 655, AT-5555, and CRT SS 6900. All of which I had to purchase the cables online separately for about $30. 😡😡
Only one I had to purchase a cable for is the 6900 due to the end. All others are the same.
v2 has NB+/NB switch v1 Has ANL/NB switch
It depended on your version 2. The early ones came this way . Yellow backlights are another easy sign. They are on to 955 version 3 at this point.
So it's a 10 meter radio and the moment you turn this radio on it is showing 27mhz.
Did you forget to show us the 11 meter conversion there lol
I didn’t do any conversion. I just powered it up !
@@EricTechstuffs it's a 10 meter radio mate. It will not show 27mhz as you know lol
@@fwucku You are right! The radio just came this way ! I didn’t pay extra ! It’s not officially released yet, so a “bonus” I guess !
@@EricTechstuffs Yeah and it came with his call number on the display right out of the box.
@@rocklickranch2804 You are right ! It did come with my number on it. Like I said, this was a pre-release batch of the SR-955v2. I beat down doors to get one. They did me that favor with my persistence. The real batcch of 955 from your dealer can come programmed the way you want it - then adjust it in software yourself. Sorry, if I caused confusion.
Ah the Price for the KPO DX 5000 in Germany 205€ 😉 Hope the Stryker ist the Same Price or a Little More !
I think the prices for radios has gone way up! Almost same price can get a used HF Ham rig !
@@EricTechstuffs Yes, I heard something about components that were not produced by Corona, in Germany Scholz China is taking over a company again, semiconductors and other components are produced there 😡 that makes everything more expensive here! but as it seems the whole thing is so wanted to fill the coffers of the government!
FM 10m repeaters all over the east coast
Yes sir ! I remember when they didn't have ctcss tones and 10m would open up the repeater was "kirchunking" all the time !
Bill shit . The v2 weren’t out then .
They sure were. I don’t need to make anything up. It was super easy to get.
@@EricTechstuffs in your last comment you said that you knick down doors sorry you are persistent that's why you got a little pat on the back and got one so full of it just another hack job
isnt that 11 meters ? first time watcher
Yes, this radio is easily modified for full 12m~10 meter operation.
Yea, Like WTF? Why is your call sign already on the radio when you said it was new out of the box??? ruclips.net/video/up0hLk0WPLU/видео.html
This was the limited first run of the V2. Stryker hooked me up !
Ok
BTW! Are you sure that the 955 V2 has the NR option like the KPO?? I saw in another Techs video that the V2 didn’t have the same circuitry as the KPO. A side by side comparison would be awesome when possible. Thanks for the vids.
Thanks for watching. They are really based off the same board to start off with. There is user adjustable DNR sure. but for the best? Get a quality HF Rig. you'll never go back ! These radio come and go on my channel ! I'd never own most of them !
The other tech is wrong.
not a v2
Dude listen you're on a citizens man frequency you're not on AM radio you ain't got to holler CQ CQ okay it drives people nuts you're going to get some people start yelling at you I hope they don't but that's not a CB ready that's not a ham radio on that frequency so be careful if you're around truck drivers I don't need them going off on you and hurting you okay so be careful holler break break 38 break 38 just be careful on the holler and CQ okay I don't need something happen to you just truck drivers and everybody else get kind of pissy okay so be careful
Your right ! It's a bad habit with CQ DX ! Back in the day it was so others could tune someone in on ham better. It's not needed so much on channelized radios on frequency ! Thanks for watching, I'll only throw my numbers if I can remember ! 👍
This 2022 not 2021
You are right ! I caught that too ! Some years run together in the shack ! Thanks for watching !
