I agree. I am 55 and just discovered Nightwish about 3 yrs ago because I live in the U.S. and for some reason they just aren't as popular here, which I don't understand. But the Wacken 2013 concert is one of the best live performances of ANY band ANYWHERE in the entire universe.

Floor is amazing for Nightwish, her vocals give some flare to the old Nightwish songs. Change is good, and she is perfect for taking the band in a new direction :)

She's amazing and I'm glad that they chose someone from Europé since I've the feeling that an american singer couldn't do metal symphony. There are several female rockers that have really good voices, but neither Amy Lee (Evanescence) Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) or any other female american rocker that I can think of have the right voice for Nightwish, if they hadn't chosen Floor the best choice would have been Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
@@sandernielsen8018 Sharon wouldn't leave WT, but I agree, her voice would be as great as Floor's is. Floor is the best thing ever, that could happen to Nightwish, that's an undeniable fact. When they perform, the whole band brightens up, something, that wasn't seen back with either Tarja or Anette that much. And when the band has their fun, so has the audience as well, it reflects on their performances. Long live the goddess.

is you opinion, i prefer Floor. But i like the 2 versions. The old version for me is more dark and gothic, and the version with floor is more soft and angelical. I like the 2 are beauty for me .
The way Floor commands the stage is an absolute joy to watch. Easily top 5 all time when it comes to stage presence and stage command for any genre or gender.

That's one thing about heavy metal that I love! Every heavy metal band I have ever seen live has never lip-synced or use any auto-tune of any kind. I have never heard of any metal band doing that either. In my opinion Hard Rock and heavy metal bands have the best musicians in the entire industry. In other genres often the live music is not very good at all. I have seen several heavy metal bands live and they all sound great. Great music great voices great everything! I'm really hoping to catch Nightwish the next time they roll through the United States!

The main problem with pop is, unlike in say, classical or metal/rock, is that it has to sound "a certain way", and if you don't do that, or mess up, it ends up sounding not right, aka bad. That's what they use auto tune for, and that's why it sounds bad live. In most other genres it doesn't matter wether you sing it that way or another. Except based on the expectations of the audience of course, but since they didn't need to sing it "perfect" in the first place, there isn't much they can do wrong.

I miss Jukka... Nightwish doesn't really looks like Nightwish without our favourite biker lookalike drummer... Frankly, I admit that Floor is the best singer, Tarja was a really good one, she had a kind of pure beauty and sweet face and with her powerful and hypnotic vocals she seamed just like an angel, but my heart will always go for Floor instead.... Really don't forget about the people who designed these stages where she is performing. The people behind the light, fireworks, who designed the stage, the one blowing wind in her hair etc. It is the whole package. And yeah you still need a Floor to make this whole mix just perfect. Just watched the Tarja video for this. It was wonderful. This is totally different. Since it was Floor still enthusiastic about this material, and part of the greatest live set of the 2010s by anyone ever, and has windmills sufficient to power the concert... why compare?

Nope, Floor doesn't have an operatic voice, and she is the first to admit she isn't good in it nor does she like the style. In fact Floor has only one year training to classical singing.

Just how wonderful this lady is! She won me over quickly! Not only does she have an deep operatic voice, she's also a powerful metal chick! I love how statuesque she is, too.
Singing at this level is an art, which Floor has mastered perfectly.
This song highlights what an absolute gem Floor is. She has a legit rock voice as well as a legit classical/operatic voice. She didn't have to sing the filler vocals, backing tracks could have done that, but she has the chops and range that she doesn't take the easy way out.
Thank you Nightwish! Thank you all Band members on stage and off stage. Please never stop to get well allong each other. Please never stop to invest the work that is needed to keep the band together and Friendship alive. Keep sharing big part of each others lives.
