I love how Nightwish actually look like they're having fun on the stage. I think that's the most important aspect for any live performing band, that they actually enjoy it themselves.
True, im not that big of a Depeche Mode fan BUT when they where around they where one of the best live performance band around and whether you liked their music or not you really ENJOYED their on stage performance + like Bruce the Boss their performances could be REALLY long 2½ hour to 3 hours where not uncommon

At one point the whole band left the stage and he himself stood there with just a accoustic guitar playing covers songs from the beatles and if remember correctly Dire Straits and others. I will never forget that and the whole stadium (50.000 people) was just mesmerized. Man that was just magical. I have been to 4 other concerts from him but they were always about 3 hours long.
This is one of the most underrated Nightwish songs ever of the post-Tarja era!! When the Dark Passion Play album was released, I used to listen to the Instrumental version of Saraha cause I was not liking the singing parts so much, but I just wanted to listen to the instrumental composition that I thought was terrific. But oh god I love this now!!!
Same here, DPP & Imaginaerum I mostly listen to the instrumental versions which makes the listener appreciate more the orchestra, choir, & the instrument solos of each member. Annette honestly has a very soothing & lovely voice for the ballad songs. Ballads suits more her voice than the metal songs.
There's no comparison possible. Floor mops the floor with both of them. Vocal range, technique, power, stamina, stage presence, charisma, leadership, actitud, humbleness. If anything bad is she couldn't join earlier.
Couldn't agree more! Floor obviously gets the props and credit she deserves but sometimes I feel like people tend to overlook how much better Troy has made the band as well, and dude can sing like a monster too!

What a great song! The beginning sounds a bit happy and then…the oposite. The music sounds darker and heavyer. I haven’t heard Annette’s version so no opinion about that but this version of Floor is fantastic. She sounds dark and knows exactectly when to use the darkness in her voice and when not. I know for shure that Floor studies the lyrics of every song and knows when to give rhe right amount of emotion at the right time in the song. That is not just singing a song that is singing on a high trained level with this incredible good band besides her. This makes Nightwish so so good. I’ve heard Tarja’s songs and love specially Walking In The Air. That song was made for Tarja but Floor….wow, you are perfect for Nightwish. Perfect match. What a highly skilled band. I love them! ❤️

Not true, you could say she is one of the absolutely best active, but Kate Bush, Nina Hagen and a couple of others could easily giver her a run for the money and even beat her when they where active.

When I listen to songs like Sahara, 7 Days To The Wolves, I Want My Tears Back, Last Ride Of The Day, and especially The Poet And The Pendulum with Floor Jansen as singer I can't help but wonder if Tuomas had Floor's voice in his mind when he composed most of the songs of DPP and Imaginaerum. Floor raises the songs from these two albums to a whole different level. It's amazing, and I'm so glad to be able to listen to these live versions.
This is one of the things that I love so much about Nightwish: most bands only use guitars and drums. Nightwish is not afraid to experiment with other, more exotic instruments. Really nice performance!
Only just got into Nightwish(at 50 years young) what a road of discovery awaits, love the complexity, power , talent and great song writing, I think Boba Olli must be joking or fishing for reaction great live act all round, this from a Rush and Pink Floyd fan....Peace
She is a brilliant vocalist. I love the darkness of rock opera. But so beautiful. These guys are the best. It's like they invented a new genre. Very enjoyable, refreshing change and yet so familiar. Been done but not on this scale before.

As much as Floor is a complete, and total bad ass, Kai is awesome! His consistency, his timing, is absolutely amazing! When I was touring, I was privileged to play with two great drummers... And I'll tell you, if you don't have a good drummer it ruins everything! But, even though they were great drummers, we still messed with them, you know the stupid jokes, "What do you call someone who hangs around four musicians... A drummer. lol Or, "What was the first thing that was said after the drummer said they had an idea... You're fired. lmao I would have never even contemplated telling such a joke if I had the privilege of playing with such a great musician as Kai Hahto. And Nightwish is child's play for this man... The band had a lot of wisdom when they brought in Floor, Troy, and eventually Kai. The line up is fantastic! Nightwish has never kicked so much ass:)

you're not alone in that request. In their current "Decades" tour they are playing a lot of songs who have been played for ages and they are going to release a live cd/dvd from this tour. I guess this is close as we are going to get to see that wish granted.

In the US it's a case of supply and demand. There isn't much demand, for reasons that are lost on me, so the supply equates. But what you say doesn't apply in the UK right now. Just two shows in 2020, both in the south of the country. I'm told they are having trouble finding promoters elsewhere. What?
I wrote to their management and that was their reply. I think the problem is that the LG Arena and Manchester Arena are too big and they probably lost money last time. They need smaller venues, 10,000 capacity or so, which don't exist, or play two nights at a larger city centre venue, which they probably won't do. I wrote to Manchester Arena all the same and asked them to book them. Suggest you do the same in Birmingham? Make a case. not just a plea!
Floor and Tarja yeah but I think Anett Olson don’t fit to nightwish, sounds not like nightwish.... Tarja and Floor are very good in the deeper tones and have much bass in the voice, I think Anett doesn’t have it.....

I have been on a huge Nightwish spree since I really 'discovered' them last november but it's always awesome to find new performances! :D I like the arabian vibe in this one. I think Sahara tends to run under the radar. I just love those chord progressions and key changes. They give so much character to this song.
